“The rift between Saudi Arabia and Iran has quickly ballooned into the worst conflict in decades between the two countries” says one news source adding “The back-and-forth escalation quickly turned the simmering tension into an overt struggle for power in the Middle East.”
And while in the west is already seeing a cold-war brewing between the two, in Iran, the populace envision a literal scenario where the complete destruction of Saudi Arabia is at hand. The animated film, produced in Iran shows what is going viral in Iran: a sinister plan to completely wipe out Arabia:
The Revenge of Fatimah Al-Zahra‘ (daughter of the Muhammad) begins with an anti-colonial speech by Khamenei with scenes from Riyadh towers being targeted in what they termed “the second Gulf War”. The narrator then says “Saudi Arabia’s Ghawar oil field is one of the most important oil fields in Saudi Arabia, and when struck by Iranian missiles, it will dry up all the economic resources that provide the core budget of the Kingdom.”
This echoes Isaiah: “its land shall become burning pitch” (Isaiah 34:8-10).
Iranian missiles appear in the film aiming at all of Saudi Arabia’s oil fields, oil installations and all sensitive sites destroyed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard ballistic missiles. The screening of what Iran dubs “The Second Gulf War” will commence in Iranian schools and universities to prep all Iranian public opinion for the near future events in the Gulf.
Fatimah Zahra (daughter of the Muhammad), her revenge for her son Al-Husayn (prophet Muhammad’s grand son) was ‘martyred’ for refusing to pledge allegiance to Yazid I, the Umayyad caliph because he considered the rule of the Umayyads unjust. He was beheaded in the Battle of Karbala in 680 (61 AH) by Arabia’s Shimr Ibn Thil-Jawshan, along with most of his family and companions. This made Karbala supersede Mecca to Shiites, just as Geneva to Protestants supersedes Rome where in the Shiite faith, like the Protestant towards Rome, the destruction of Mecca was made part of its theology: “when Mecca felt haughty and arrogant that Allah warns her, he will toss the Kaaba in hellfire and will utterly destroy her.” (1)
And for that, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have put Saudi Arabia first on it crosshair, even before Israel, among countries hostile to the Iranian revolution and the overthrow of the Saudi regime is now essential to the continuation of the Iranian expansion in the region. For the Revolutionary Guards if it wants to achieve its expansionist objectives, it must take out the Saudi regime, which has become a bulwark against Iran’s expansion in the Arab world and North Africa.
The Iranians have filled the vacuums of power resulting from the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq. The dissolution of the Arab state system ushered in by the Arab Spring, causing the fragmentation in the Arab world was mostly exacerbated by Saudi Arabia’s spread of Wahhabism. This needed counterrevolutionary regional policies which provided greater opportunities for Iranian influence.
As result of Saudi Arabia’s doing, it is now faced with a range of serious challenges, having to counter the very Salafi radicalism it created while riding the backs of Sunni Muslim nations infusing them with Wahhabism. Mecca is now dealing with serious issues of social instability, Shiite-Sunni divide within the kingdom itself, economic shortcomings, with its expenditure of billions from its foreign reserves to keep the oil at low cost.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is now exploiting Saudi Arabia’s vulnerabilities by collaborating with Shiites within Saudi Arabia itself.
Saudi Arabia, unlike Iran, is delicate. It could not weather the same level of pressure from the international community as Iran did, and the confrontation with Iran will soon open unprecedented vulnerabilities within Saudi Arabia itself threatening Saudi’s Arabia’s entire political structure.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that Iran will inflict fierce reprisals against Saudi Arabia and after Saudi Arabia’s execution of al-Nimr, Khamenei declared “divine revenge” is on the way. They was they see the execution of Nimr is similar to the martyrdom of Zaha’s son. What Khamenei is really saying is that judgment of Mecca, for killing their saints, draweth nigh.

(1) This, in accordance to one very popular Shiite belief which utterly terrifies and angers Saudi Arabia:
Once the land of Ka’bah (Mecca) declared proudly, ‘Which land is like me? Allah has made His House on me. People from all parts of the earth come to pay homage to me. I have been made sacrosanct (haram) and sacred by Allah.’ On hearing this Allah, revealed, ‘Be silent! Wait a little (before you say anything further). By My Might and My Honour, the excellence and distinction I have granted to the land of Karbala is more than what I have given you. Compared to Karbala, your position is like a needle head sized drop in front of the sea. If the dust of Karbala had not been there, I would never have bestowed this honour upon you. If the one resting in Karbala (Imam Husain (a.s.)) had not been there, I would neither have created you nor the House over which you are so haughty. Wait, adopt humility and modesty and don’t be arrogant and boastful. Don’t try to prevail over Karbala in importance (as that is not possible). Else I will be displeased with you and throw you in Hell.’ (Kaamil al-Ziarat, p.267, tradition 13, narrating from Imam Ja’far al-Al-Sadiq also see here)
