<p><strong>Two people have died in Japan after having received doses of the Moderna vaccine from a batch that was suspended as a precaution after some of the vials were contaminated with unknown foreign material.</strong></p>
<p>The victims were men in their 30s, each of whom received their second Moderna doses from one of three manufacturing lots that were suspended on Thursday, the Health Ministry said on Saturday. An investigation into the cause of deaths is underway. </p>

<p>Japan’s rollout of more than 1.63 million doses was halted after the vaccine’s domestic distributor, Takeda, alerted the government about the foreign material discovered in 39 unused vials. All contaminated doses were manufactured at a Madrid factory run by a Spanish firm Rovi, which said that the vials in question belonged to a batch exclusively shipped to Japan.</p>
<p>The composition of the foreign substance was not immediately clear. However, Japan’s TV channel NHK reported that some doses were contaminated with metal particles, citing Health Ministry sources.  </p>
<p>Vaccines from the possibly contaminated lots had been sent to 863 vaccination sites across Japan.</p>
<p>Taro Kono, the minister in charge of the country’s immunization campaign, said on Friday that more than 500,000 inoculations have been already made using the doses from the lots in question. <em>“It doesn’t appear like there are any serious safety issues at this point,”</em> Kono said.</p>

Scientists are growing Delta Covid variant in a lab to purposely infect humans

<p><strong>Scientists are currently growing the Delta Covid variant in laboratories with the aim of intentionally infecting volunteers. </strong></p>
<p>British researchers are developing the samples to use in challenge trials — which see participants paid up to £4,500 for taking part. </p>

<p>Forty healthy, young volunteers have already been exposed to the original Wuhan strain, under careful supervision.</p>
<p>But the next stage of trials will infect participants with Delta, the more transmissible strain which is now dominant across the UK. </p>

US Intel Agency Has “Moderate” Confidence Covid Escaped From Wuhan Lab: Origins Report

<p><strong>An unclassified version of the US intelligence community’s coronavirus origins report includes an assessment from one agency which has “moderate confidence” that Covid-19 emerged from a Chinese government lab in Wuhan, while four other agencies assessed with “low confidence” that the virus has a natural origin. The rest of the US intelligence community (which was awfully confident Donald Trump was working with Russia) declined to commit one way or another.</strong></p>
<p>According to the <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/us-intel-agency-assess-moderate-confidence-covid-emerged-wuhan-lab"><em>Washington Examiner</em></a>‘s Jerry Dunleavy:</p>

<p><em>The one unnamed spy agency leaning toward the Wuhan lab theory with <strong>moderate confidence</strong> said COVID-19’s emergence probably involved experimentation, animal handling, or sampling from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to an unclassified report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The four unnamed spy agencies, and the NIC, with low confidence in the natural origin hypothesis assessed that the initial infection was most likely from an animal infected with either COVID-19 or a close progenitor virus, with those analysts giving weight to China’s alleged lack of foreknowledge and the numerous vectors of potential natural exposure. </em></p>

<p><em>Brian Wilson breaks down the results of an Israeli study that demonstrates the durability and effectiveness of gaining a natural immunity to COVID-19 when compared to those who have been vaccinated with Pfizer’s mRNA gene therapy.</em></p>
<p>That said, <strong>US officials say a lack of cooperation from China has hampered efforts to get down to the truth</strong>. As <em>Bloomberg</em> notes, “China’s government was also uncertain about the virus’s origins, which was a reason Beijing didn’t cooperate.”</p>
<p>The report also concludes that the virus was <em>not</em> engineered as a biological weapon, and most agencies assessed that it was not genetically engineered.</p>
<p>As we noted <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/beijing-threatens-counterattack-if-white-house-report-covid-origins-blames-wuhan-lab">two days ago</a>, <strong>Beijing threatened a “counterattack” if the report blamed China for the leak</strong>.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, with the Biden Administration report set to be released in a matter of days, a senior Chinese bureaucrat warned during a press conference that Beijing would “<strong>retaliate</strong>” if the intelligence report fingers a lab leak from the WHO.</p>

<p><strong>“We will continue to cooperate with international organizations like the WHO in their research and in their search for the origins,” </strong>said Fu Cong, director-general of the Foreign Ministry’s Arms Control Department. <strong>“But we do not accept baseless and unfounded accusations that are politically motivated. And if they want to baselessly accuse China, so they better <em>be prepared to accept the counterattack from China.”</em></strong></p>

<p>It wasn’t clear just how Beijing would retaliate: some speculated it could do so by sending even deadlier virus variants, or by intentionally closing down shipping ports.</p>

WARNING – Risk of death due to Covid-19 increases by up to 182% for Fully Vaccinated people under the age of 50 according to Public Health data

<p><strong>Covid-19 has disproportionately</strong> <strong>affected the elderly and vulnerable with other underlying conditions, and data shows that the risk of death due to Covid-19 ranges from miniscule to negligible for the under 50’s prior to the availability of a Covid-19 injection. This makes the latest Public Health England data on Covid-19 extremely concerning, because it shows the risk of death for people under the age of 50 due to Covid-19 increases if they have been fully vaccinated.</strong></p>
<p>Public Health England have been periodically releasing a report on Covid-19 variants of concern in the United Kingdom, and their <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1012644/Technical_Briefing_21.pdf"><span>latest report</span></a> was released on the 20th August covering data on cases, hospitalisations, and deaths due to the Delta Covid-19 variant from the 1st February up to the 15th August 2021.</p>
<p>Table 5 of the report shows that within this time frame there have been 178,240 alleged confirmed cases of the Delta Covid-19 variant in the unvaccinated group of under 50’s, and 40,544 confirmed cases of the Delta variant in the fully vaccinated group of under 50’s.</p>

<p>The report also shows that in the same time frame 1,840 unvaccinated people under the age of 50 have presented to emergency care resulting in overnight inpatient admission, whilst 246 fully vaccinated people under the age of 50 have presented to emergency care resulting in overnight patient admission.</p>

<p>PHE’s report also shows that 72 unvaccinated people under the age of 50 have allegedly died due to Covid-19 since the 1st February up to the 15th August 2021, whilst 27 fully vaccinated people under the age of 50 have allegedly died due to Covid-19 in the same time frame.</p>

<p>At first glance these numbers may make you believe that the Covid-19 injections are working, but when you analyse the number of deaths against the number of hospitalisations and cases in each group they tell a completely different story.</p>
<p>Out of 178,240 alleged confirmed cases of the Delta Covid-19 variant in the unvaccinated group of under 50’s there have been 72 deaths. This equates to 0.04% of all cases in the unvaccinated under 50’s resulting in death.</p>
<p>However, out of 40,544 confirmed cases of the Delta variant in the fully vaccinated group of under 50’s there have been 13 deaths. This equates to 0.06% of all cases in the fully vaccinated under 50’s resulting in death.</p>
<p>That means the relative risk of death due to Covid-19, if under the age of 50, fully vaccinated, and then infected with Covid-19, increases by 50%. Not the 95% reduced risk claimed by the Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers, the Government, and the scientisists it employs. But the risk of death is actually even worse for those unlucky enough to end up in hospital.</p>
<p>Out of 1,840 unvaccinated people under the age of 50 who have presented to emergency care resulting in overnight inpatient admission, there have been 72 deaths. This equates to 3.9% of all hospitalisations in the unvaccinated under 50’s resulting in death.</p>
<p>However, out of 246 fully vaccinated people under the age of 50 who have presented to emergency care resulting in overnight patient admission, their have been 27 deaths. This equated to 11% of all hospitalisations in the fully vaccinated under 50’s resulting in death.</p>
<p>This means the relative risk of death due to Covid-19, if under the age of 50, fully vaccinated, and then hospitalised with Covid-19 increases by 182%.</p>
<p>The data clearly shows that the Covid-19 injections are in fact effective. But only at increasing the risk of death.</p>

<p><strong>Holocaust survivors and their descendants have delivered a letter to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and the UK’s Medical & Healthcare product Regulatory Agency (MHRA) demanding a halt to the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out following the FDA’s decision to grant full approval to new batches of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The survivors have charged the authorities with failing to adequately inform populations of vaccine risks, and violating the right to free informed consent under the Nuremberg Code.</strong></p>
<p>The Holocaust survivors; who served the letter to the EMA both lost family members in the camps and also family members that perished during Mengele’s experiments, stated that immunisation of the entire planet has “never before been accomplished by delivering a synthetic mRNA into the human body. It is a medical experiment to which the Nuremberg Code must be applied…</p>
<p>“We, the survivors of the atrocities committed against humanity during the Second World War… experience a déjà vu that is so horrifying that we rise to shield our fellow humans.”</p>
<p>In <a href="https://viruswaarheid.nl/belangrijk/stop-holocaust/">the letter to the EMA</a> the authors list 22 serious adverse events that were known to the FDA prior to Emergency Use Authorisation yet were not made known to the public, including vaccine-enhanced disease, stroke, myocarditis, acute multitude-system inflammatory syndrome in children<strong>,</strong> Guillain-Barré syndrome, autoimmune conditions and pregnancy and birth outcomes, as has been previously revealed <a href="https://dailyexpose.co.uk/2021/08/22/medicine-regulators-knew-in-october-2020-that-the-covid-19-vaccines-would-cause-blood-clots-heart-damage-harm-to-children-and-death/">here</a> at The Daily Expose.</p>
<p>They also further stressed that vaccine mandates violate the right to voluntary consent under the Nuremberg Code “without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion.”</p>

<p>In the days since taking power in Afghanistan, a wide range of Taliban figures have entered Kabul -- hardened commandos, armed madrassa students and greying leaders back from years of exile.</p>
<p>There has been one major exception -- the group's supreme leader.</p>
<p>Hibatullah Akhundzada -- the so-called commander of the faithful -- has shepherded the Taliban as its chief since 2016 when snatched from relative obscurity to oversee a movement in crisis.</p>
<p>After taking the insurgency's reins, the cleric was tasked with the mammoth challenge of unifying a jihadist movement that briefly fractured during a bitter power struggle.</p>
<p>The infighting came as the group was hit with successive blows -- the assassination of Akhundzada's predecessor and the revelation that its leaders had hidden the death of Taliban founder Mullah Omar.</p>
<p>Little is still known about Akhundzada's day-to-day role, with his public profile largely limited to the release of annual messages during Islamic holidays.</p>
<p>Apart from a single photograph released by the Taliban, the leader has never made a public appearance and his whereabouts remain largely unknown.</p>
<p>Since taking control of Kabul in mid-August, the group has remained tight-lipped about Akhundzada's movements.</p>
<p>"You will see him soon, God willing," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters this week when asked about Akhundzada's whereabouts.</p>
<p>The ongoing silence comes as the heads of various Taliban factions have openly preached in Kabul's mosques, met with opposition figures, and even chatted with Afghan cricket officials in recent days.</p>
<p><strong>The secret history</strong></p>
<p>The Taliban have a long history of keeping their top leader in the shadows.</p>
<p>The group's enigmatic founder Mullah Mohammad Omar was notorious for his hermit ways and rarely travelled to Kabul when the group was in power in the 1990s.</p>
<p>Instead, Omar stayed largely out of sight in his compound in Kandahar, reluctant even to meet visiting delegations.</p>
<p>Still, his word was rule and no singular figure has emerged to command the movement with the same respect.</p>
<p>Laurel Miller -- the head of the Asia programme at the International Crisis Group -- said Akhundzada "appears to have adopted a reclusive style similar" to that of Omar.</p>
<p>The secrecy might also be fuelled by security reasons, Miller added, citing the assassination of his predecessor Mullah Akhtar Mansour by a US drone strike.</p>
<p>"A Taliban spokesman has indicated their leader will emerge soon, and he might have reasons to do that to quash suspicions of his demise," Miller told AFP.</p>
<p>"But it's also possible that after showing himself he would withdraw and exercise his authority in a remote fashion, as Mullah Omar did."</p>
<p>Akhundzada's absence follows years of rumours about his health, with chatter in Pakistan and Afghanistan suggesting he had contracted Covid or had been killed in a bombing.</p>
<p>There has never been much in the way to prove these rumours, but Akhundzada's secrecy comes at a sensitive time for the erstwhile insurgency.</p>
<p>There are myriad Taliban factions comprising groups from across Afghanistan, representing a vast array of constituents.</p>
<p>The revelation in 2015 that the Taliban leadership had for years hidden the death of Mullah Omar sparked a brief but bloody power struggle, with at least one major faction splitting from the group.</p>
<p>As the Taliban transition from fighting to governance, balancing the interests of their numerous factions will be crucial to consolidating power.</p>
<p>Any power vacuum would risk destabilising a movement that has managed to stay cohesive following decades of conflict, tens of thousands of foot soldiers killed, and top leaders assassinated or shipped off to the US prison in Guantanamo Bay.</p>
<p>Others suggest the group may just be biding its time until US-led forces make their final exit from Afghanistan in the coming days.</p>
<p>"The Taliban consider themselves in a state of jihad" as long as foreign troops are on Afghan soil and will likely keep their leader hidden until they leave, said Pakistan-based security analyst Imtiaz Gul.</p>
<p>"That's why the supreme leader is not surfacing."</p>

<p>Two people died after receiving Moderna COVID-19 vaccine shots that were among lots later suspended following the discovery of contaminants, Japan's health ministry said on Saturday.</p>
<p>The men in their 30s died this month within days of receiving their second Moderna doses, the ministry said in a release. Each had a shot from one of three manufacturing lots suspended on Thursday. The cause of the deaths is still being investigated.</p>
<p>Japan halted the use of 1.63 million Moderna doses shipped to 863 vaccination centres nationwide, more than a week after the domestic distributor, Takeda Pharmaceutical, received reports of contaminants in some vials.</p>
<p>The government and Moderna had said no safety or efficacy issues had been identified and the suspension was just a precaution.</p>
<p>The contaminant is believed to be metallic particles, Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported, citing health ministry sources.</p>

<p>"We are departing by August 31. Upon that date, we are delivering -- we're essentially giving the airport back to the Afghan people," State Department spokesman Ned Price said Friday, cutting off speculation about the possibility of it falling into international hands.</p>
<p>However, the Afghan government collapsed in the face of the Taliban advance on Kabul, and now the onetime insurgents are in power but still haven't even formed a government.</p>
<p>"Running an airport is not an uncomplicated piece of business," Price said. "I think that it is probably unreasonable to expect that there will be normal airport operations on September 1."</p>
<p>The idea that the airport could be temporarily closed was raised on Wednesday by his boss, Secretary of State Antony Blinken.</p>
<p>He said there had been "very active efforts" by countries in the region to see whether they could help keep it open "or, as necessary, reopening it if it closes for some period of time."</p>
<p>Blinken insisted that the fate of the airport was important to the Taliban, who did not want to find themselves once again heading a pariah regime, as they did from 1996 to 2001.</p>
<p>The Islamists are especially hoping to see humanitarian aid quickly flow into the country.</p>
<p><strong>Role for Ankara?</strong></p>
<p>But the airport is also important for Western countries who want to be able to get their citizens out of Afghanistan, as well as thousands of Afghan allies who cannot be evacuated in the US-led airlift before August 31.</p>
<p>Up until now, NATO has played a key role: the alliance's civilian personnel have taken care of air traffic control, fuel supplies and communications, while military contingents from Turkey, the United States, Britain and Azerbaijan were in charge of security.</p>
<p>With the full withdrawal of international forces rapidly approaching, it has long been thought that perhaps Turkey would step into the breach, maintaining responsibility for securing the perimeter of the airport.</p>
<p>The hope was that the Taliban would accept the presence of a small force from Turkey, a mainly Muslim nation that is also part of NATO.</p>
<p>But once they took power, the Taliban have repeatedly said they will not accept any foreign military presence in Afghanistan after August 31, and Turkish soldiers have begun to pull out.</p>
<p>However, negotiations have continued on the diplomatic front.</p>
<p>After the first talks on Friday between Turkish officials and the Taliban in Kabul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed the Taliban now want to oversee security at the airport, while offering Ankara the option of running its logistics.</p>
<p>"We will make a decision once calm prevails," Erdogan said, saying the suicide attack on Thursday at the gates of the airport showed how complex the mission was.</p>
<p>Beyond Turkey, the discussions on the future of the airport have included Qatar and private operators, while the United States has said it is acting as a facilitator.</p>
<p>But the question of who takes over the airport is a sensitive one: beyond the security concerns, the airport is in a bad state, US officials say, adding that apart from the US Army, there are few entities in the world capable of taking charge of it from one day to the next.</p>
<p>US and Western experts on air traffic have just completed an evaluation of the airport in a bid to assess if commercial flights could resume quickly, Price said Friday.</p>
<p>Other officials are more blunt: there won't be many airlines that will agree to fly into Kabul as long as the Taliban are unable to offer real assurances on security and that the infrastructure is in good working order.</p>

<p>By Wednesday night, U.S. intelligence agencies were near certain that an attack was imminent outside Kabul airport, triggering a State Department warning to American citizens to leave the area immediately.</p>
<p>Just over 12 hours later, a suicide bomber walked through the large crowds to a gate manned by U.S. troops and detonated explosives, killing at least 13 U.S. service members and 79 Afghans.</p>
<p>It was a tragic coda to America's 20-year war in Afghanistan, the largest loss of life for the U.S. military there in a decade, on the cusp of the full withdrawal of troops by Aug. 31 ordered by President Joe Biden.</p>
<p>Among the most pressing questions as the U.S. military launches its investigation: How did the bomber make it through Taliban checkpoints? Why were U.S. troops in such a concentrated space when they knew an attack was imminent?</p>
<p>"It was a failure somewhere," General Frank McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, told reporters hours after the attack, which was claimed by Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K).</p>
<p>But at some point, McKenzie added, troops had no choice but to come in contact with people trying to board evacuation flights, screen them, pat them down for weapons, and ensure they did not make it into the airport if they posed a threat.</p>
<p>U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the conditions for the attack were set months in advance.</p>
<p>They told Reuters that weeks before the evacuation from Kabul airport began following the Taliban's takeover of the capital, the military had been seeking approval to get at-risk Afghans out of the country.</p>
<p>But the slow tempo of processing and inability to secure housing for the evacuees in third countries slowed down the pace of departures, according to the officials, at one point halting all flights from Kabul for six hours.</p>
<p>That meant troops were on the frontlines at the airport gates in the face of chaos outside.</p>
<p>"This didn't need to happen," a U.S. military official told Reuters.</p>
<p>"They didn't need to die."</p>
<p><strong>DEBATE OVER BAGRAM</strong></p>
<p>In the maelstrom of criticism aimed at Biden for the perilous evacuation of both U.S. citizens and Afghans who worked for the Americans, some have questioned his decision to hand back Bagram airbase in July, by far the United States' largest military facility in Afghanistan.</p>
<p>Some Republican lawmakers have argued that if the base had been kept open, the evacuation would have been more orderly.</p>
<p>U.S. officials rejected those arguments.</p>
<p>One U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it would have taken an estimated 8,000 U.S. troops to secure Bagram, which likely would have been attacked by the Taliban as they swept to power. Americans wanting to leave the capital then would have faced a roughly 40-minute drive through Taliban checkpoints.</p>
<p>In the coming hours, the United States will turn its attention to withdrawing the approximately 5,000 troops at Kabul's airport - and the White House said on Friday the next few days will likely be the most dangerous of the operation.</p>
<p>ISIS terrorists have shot at aircraft already during the evacuation operation, but have had little success, according to the officials, who added that rocket attacks and suicide bombings will become an even larger threat as the number of U.S. troops dwindles.</p>
<p>The military is expected to continue to fly out evacuees even as they withdraw equipment and troops, though the number is expected to drop precipitously.</p>
<p>Officials said the withdrawal was particularly challenging because of a mixture of security threats along with a humanitarian crisis taking place outside the airport.</p>
<p>Unlike many previous military withdrawals, such as from Iraq in 2011, terrorist groups have been able to develop plans that focus on a single target, the airport, rather than on a number of U.S. bases.</p>
<p>Military planners are also desperate to avoid any repeat of the situation where thousands of desperate Afghans stormed the runway, hoping to get on a plane. Several died, some falling from airborne craft.</p>
<p>One of the U.S. officials said Biden's "Saigon" moment, the infamous U.S. evacuation from Vietnam in 1975, could still be to come as Afghans outside the airport realize the final stages of Washington's military withdrawal are underway.</p>
<p><strong>SYMBOLIC RETALIATION?</strong></p>
<p>Biden, his voice breaking with emotion, vowed on Thursday that the United States would hunt down those responsible for the airport attack, and said he had ordered the Pentagon to come up with plans to strike at the perpetrators.</p>
<p>On Friday, the U.S. military said it launched a drone strike that it believed had killed an Islamic State attack planner in eastern Afghanistan.</p>
<p>But officials have cautioned that beyond a symbolic act or limited operation, the United States could in fact do little to degrade ISIS-K.</p>
<p>"We've been trying to destroy the group in Afghanistan since 2014 and couldn't do it with thousands of troops on the ground," the defense official said.</p>

<p>Despite close links between terrorist groups Taliban and Haqqani Network, the US State Department on Friday (local time) said that they are two separate entities.</p>
<p>During a press briefing, when US State Department spokesperson Ned Price was asked about sharing information regarding the security of Kabul airport with the Taliban and whether it was extended to Haqqani Network, Mr Price replied, "The Taliban and Haqqani Network are two separate entities."</p>
<p>Despite his denial, it is reported that the Taliban and the Haqqani Network share strong links. The US first designated the Haqqani Network as a terrorist organisation in 2012.</p>
<p>The National Counter-terrorism Center said the Haqqanis "is considered the most lethal and sophisticated terror group targeting US, Coalition, and Afghan forces" and said the Haqqani Network was considered a terrorist group "because of its involvement in the Afghan insurgency, attacks on US military and civilian personnel and Western interests in Afghanistan, and because of its ties to the Taliban and Al Qaeda."</p>
<p>A Pakistani protege, Khalil Haqqani, who has a USD 5 million reward after the US designated him a terrorist 10 years ago is a regular visitor to Pakistan's military headquarters in Rawalpindi, is one of the new rulers of Afghanistan, reported The New York Times.</p>
<p>Known to American intelligence as the Taliban emissary to Al Qaeda, Khalil Haqqani showed up in Kabul last week as their new chief of security, brazenly armed with an American-made M4 rifle, with a protection squad dressed in American combat gear.</p>
<p>The nexus between the Pakistanis and the Haqqani was indisputable and indispensable to the Taliban takeover, said Douglas London, a former CIA counter-terrorism chief for South and Southwest Asia.</p>
<p>The members of the Haqqani family had prominent positions inside the Taliban. In fact, the Taliban, Haqqani Network, and Al Qaeda are deeply intertwined in Afghanistan, with the Taliban integrating Haqqani Network leaders and terrorists with Al Qaeda links into its command structure.</p>
<p>Moreover, the splinter group of ISIS, the IS - Khorasan or ISIS-K who had claimed Kabul airport blast, has long clashed with the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, claiming Taliban rule is illegitimate.</p>
<p>The US has relied upon the Taliban to maintain security checkpoints around Kabul's airport. Central Command leader General Frank McKenzie said Thursday the US would continue to ask the Taliban to assist with security, saying he hadn't seen evidence the Taliban let the attack occur.<br />
