CNN’s Dana Bash asked Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy if he thinks Fox News is “killing people” with anti-vaccine “rhetoric.”

After playing clips of Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham warning of the experimental nature of the vaccine, Bash asked Murthy whether he thought “conservative media” is killing people with such commentary.

“President Biden did accuse social media platforms of killing people. Do you think conservative media, like Fox News, are doing the same? Are they killing people too with rhetoric like you just heard?” Bash asked on “State of the Union” Sunday.

Without answering directly, Murthy said: “I think all of us, including the media, including individuals, health professionals, have a responsibility to share the truth about health as science dictates, as science informs us.”

“Unless we are honest about the consequences of our communication with people, unless we are rigorous about ensuring that what we communicate is actually sourced from science and not from opinion on critical issues like the vaccine, then we are going to ultimately put people at risk. And that is my great worry, Dana,” he added.

It’s worth noting that many Fox News hosts, such as Sean Hannity and Bret Baier, encouraged their viewers to get the shot after consulting their doctor, so characterizing Fox News as an anti-vaccine news outlet is dishonest and inaccurate.

Later in the interview, Murthy also claimed that unvaccinated people are not protected from “hospitalization and death,” failing to explain natural immunity, such as when someone has developed COVID antibodies after infection.

“I am worried about what is to come because we are seeing increasing cases among the unvaccinated in particular. And while if you are vaccinated you are very well protected against hospitalization and death, unfortunately that is not true if you are not vaccinated,” Murthy said.

This comes after Murthy claimed that social media companies censoring COVID-19 information was “not enough,”

“Modern technology companies have enabled misinformation to poison our information environment with little accountability to the abusers,” Murthy said Thursday.

Alex Jones breaks down how internet censorship of speech ties in to intended side effect of the COVID vaccine: death. Once free speech is silenced, no one can raise awareness about how COVID shots are killing people.
