During Wednesday’s broadcast of ABC‘s “The View,” host Sunny Hostin agreed with actor Idris Elba who recently called for all social media platforms to require identification in order to create an account.
Discussing Elba’s idea, co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked Hostin if she thinks mandating IDs for social media use would help stop racial harassment online.
Hostin answered, “I really do and I think this is a terrific, terrific idea. I am subjected daily to racist attacks on social media. I’m talking daily, sometimes in the hundreds, sometimes in the thousands. And it’s painful, it’s hurtful, and it’s always from someone who has a cat icon, a flag icon, a frog icon, you know, all sorts — an eagle icon… and they are, I believe, just Twitter thugs, social media thugs, hiding in their mama’s basements.”
“The things they say to me, and I’m sure to many others on this panel, they would never say in person because they don’t have the courage to do it. These are cowards, and you know people are always talking about ‘ID necessary’ for all sorts of things, then ID certainly should be necessary, a verified ID, before you start a social media account,” she added.
Hostin continued to claim the reason people are trolling others online is that there are “little to no consequences” thanks to their anonymity.
Sunny Hostin appears to be promoting a crackdown on free speech in the U.S. as we’ve seen in the UK over the past few years.
Next, Whoopi Goldberg asked co-host Meghan McCain for her opinion on social media identification mandates.
“I agree with Sunny, I like it,” she responded. “I think, you know, it’s a free country, you can say whatever you want, we have freedom of free speech. But, you can’t say whatever you want without consequences and I think if you’re going to send racist notes to ‘View’ hosts, to anyone in the world, if you’re going to harass women, if you’re going to tell them you want them raped and killed, I think your employer should know about it.”
“View” host Sara Haines also “absolutely” agreed with the social media ID requirement, telling the audience you can’t hold people accountable (for their speech) without an identity.
When it came time for co-host Joy Behar to chime in, she explained that she has no privacy and is responsible for everything she writes or says, asking, “Why shouldn’t some loser who’s living in his mother’s basement also be responsible for what he says?”
Behar seems to forget she chose a career in the public spotlight.
Joy also said requiring an ID to use social media would “cut down on a lot of this hate speech we have to endure.”
“It can be dangerous,” Meghan McCain said of “hate speech.”
Meanwhile, “The View” hosts have repeatedly condemned conservative calls for voter ID laws throughout America.
Just a few weeks ago, Joy Behar claimed requiring ID to vote in U.S. elections is “making it hard for people to exercise their right to vote.”
Sunny Hostin said, “Republicans are trying to make sure that people don’t vote,” and alleged, “Voter ID typically really does suppress the African American vote.”
So, requiring an ID to vote in elections is racist, but requiring one to use social media is necessary to track racists, got it?
Biden’s army of liars are marching on, pushing a voting agenda mired with half truths and intentional obfuscation.
