Heartening footage out of France shows police officers joining the country’s growing anti-COVID tyranny protest following President Emmanuel Macron’s vaccine passport decree.
“Liberté! Liberté! Liberté!” the police and protesters chanted, meaning “freedom!”
The massive march, protesting both the oppressive ongoing lockdowns and the new COVID vaccine mandate, erupted last week following Macron’s speech warning of jail time for those unable to prove their vaccination status.
“People unable to present a valid health pass risk up to six months in prison and a fine of up to €10,000 (£8,500), according to the draft text of the law, while owners of ‘establishments welcoming the public’ who fail to check patrons’ passes could go to jail for a year and be hit with a €45,000 fine,” reports the Guardian.
Separate footage shows a group of officers laying down their helmets in solidarity with the protesters and medical personnel subjected to Macron’s draconian new law.
Although the protests initially saw citizens violently clash with the police, sentiment over the weekend evidently appeared to shift, despite the fact police were declared exempt from the forced inoculation (presumably as a way to keep them on Macron’s side).
Hopefully, more law enforcement in France will remember their history of pursuing freedom and join the right side of history.
On August 1st, Macron’s France will require a COVID-19 health pass for anyone entering a restaurant or café, a shopping center, hospital, or taking a long-distance train due to the fear mongering surrounding the dreaded ‘Delta’ variant.
