Turns out the story was about as real as Jussie Smollett’s alleged assault.
Earlier this month, two men accused by the FBI of plotting to kidnap the governor in 2020 were found not guilty by a jury of their peers, with juries also failing to reach unanimous verdicts against two other defendants.
On Tuesday, a federal prosecutor who had given an opening statement during the trial saying the men wanted to kidnap Whitmer and create a “war zone here in Michigan” quit the case, declining to provide a reason.
