In another act of barbarity, ISIS accused a man of stealing and as punishment, they cut off his hand in public with a meat cleaver while a cheering crowd looked on:

This is the sickening moment ISIS thugs maimed a 'thief' for life by chopping off his hand with a cleaver while a baying crowd watched on.

The man was blindfolded and dragged to a square in the terror group's stronghold of Raqqa in Syria before being forced in to a seat while his arm was held to a wooden table.

Gruesome pictures show a balaclava-wearing jihadi positioning a cleaver on the man's wrist and preparing to strike down on the weapon with a large metal bar. (source)

If this act of barbarity was not enough, there is something worse here, and that is crowd of supporters that are baying this on:

One can argue how much these people were compelled to do this or not, but the fact is clear that ISIS is not just a lone entity in it actions. What makes the member of ISIS unique is that they are the ones who actually follow through on these teachings. In that sense, they are the minority. However, there is almost no resistance to them from fellow Muslims not because these people are incapable of standing up, but because there exists so much support for what ISIS is doing, with the only difference these people are not actually carrying out the deeds themselves.

This is something that you will find in every group. As I have pointed out, there are varying degrees of commitment to any cause, no matter what it is, including Islam. If we look  at the 80/20 rule- that 20% of a organization doe 80% of the work and vice versa- we can say that really only 20% of Muslims account for 80% of the problems. A recent study for the Pew Forum pointed this out without saying it, as it shows that well over 20% of Muslims in most Islamic societies accept not only Shariah law, but support Islamic violence. Statistically speaking, the support for the actions of Muslim terrorists like ISIS is there and real among the people.

Therefore, when ISIS does actions like this, yes, they are responsible, but so are the cheering crowds, as each of them possesses within them the same seeds of brutality that ISIS executioners have, for without their support ISIS would not be able to do what they do.
