Andrea Jenkins, a Democrat city council member in Minneapolis, Minnesota, had her vehicle blocked by a group of BLM activists on Sunday as she tried to leave a parking lot.

Leaving a Taking Back Pride march where protesters called for an end to police escorts for pride parades, the city councilwoman and a friend were prevented from leaving for nearly two hours.

Jenkins likely attended the event because she is the first openly transgender black American elected to public office.

However, local activists saw her presence as a “photo-op” and presented a list of demands to be met before she could continue driving.

When protesters asked Jenkins to sign a piece of paper pledging to drop charges against rioters and to release more information on the police shooting of Winston Smith, the woman driving the stopped car said, “This isn’t a negotiation, this is a demand.”

“That’s correct, because we are not asking no more white lady, we demanding at this point!” a BLM supporter replied.

The driver responded by flipping the middle finger at the group of demonstrators.

At this point, likely wishing to prevent further escalation of tensions, Jenkins grabbed the paper and reluctantly gave her signature.

When Jenkins’ signature wasn’t good enough, the group asked her to print her name and date the paper.

Jenkins complied and told the protesters, “I’m glad y’all got some power today.”

A live Facebook video from the scene provides more context and shows a man named Donald Hooker Jr. explaining that Jenkins told him she was happy no police were around.

Hooker allegedly responded by telling Jenkins the people the city is paying to patrol George Floyd Square have assaulted him three times.

“She says it’s not her business and there’s nothing she can do even though they (city council) give them money,” he noted.

“She blew up at me, in my face,” Hooker said on the video. “Someone got in between us and she went around them to jump in my face again, and yelled at me and then she stormed off to this car.”

He continued, “So, we’ve been out here for an hour and a half and she has been mean, she has been rude. Her friend or partner has called the cops on already.”

Ironically, Hooker already claimed Jenkins expressed anti-police sentiment and she is an open advocate of defunding the police.

Speaking to the Minnesota Reformer, Hooker said police cars drove by “every once in a while” as the group surrounded Jenkins and her friend, but never stopped.

While Hooker filmed Jenkins, the city councilwoman talked on the phone with someone, telling them, “It might take me three days before I get out of here. I got this white kid standing in front of my fucking car like he’s holding it down like this ain’t white supremacy right the fuck here.”

After Jenkins signed the paper, Hooker admitted, “She was probably just trying to get out of there,” but said, “We’ll see if she actually follows through.”

Basically, the transgender, anti-cop city councilwoman who resorts to calling BLM protesters “white supremacists” isn’t radical enough for the activists.

This scene was by-definition an act of domestic terrorism.
