UFC President Dana White destroyed a media outlet who was critical of the fighting league’s recent sold-out event.
Hosted by VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, the card was the first full-capacity indoor card for UFC since the COVID pandemic began.
Leading up to the fights, the Las Vegas Review-Journal (LVRJ) published an article claiming attendees of UFC 261 were “willing to risk personal damage or death to attend” the live sporting event.
Not a person to shy away from confrontation, White took a screenshot of the hit piece and accompanied it with his opinion on the article.
Posting to Instagram, White wrote, “Hey Las Vegas, this is our piece of shit local newspaper. Through this entire pandemic we didn’t lay off a single employee, we worked with governmental agencies in Nevada and around the world to put on every event safely, and we chose to bring our biggest fight of the year with Conor McGregor back to town July 10th to help relaunch the city.”
Despite doing so much for the city of Las Vegas, the outlet is attacking the UFC, as White added, “Yet, this is how the Las Vegas Review-Journal shows its support for a true local business. Go fuck yourself LVRJ, and don’t bother coming to the fight in July.”
Explaining why he took shots at the LVRJ, the UFC president explained he wasn’t upset with the writer, Adam Hill, but the publication as a whole.
Speaking with the press following UFC 261 Saturday night, White said, “I went in on the Review-Journal today. And let me say this to you guys, I think a lot of us here like Adam Hill and are friends with Adam Hill and I did not say Adam Hill.”
He continued, “Because I know that you all have arrogant, smug fu**ing arrogant editors… pompous ass editors who write your headlines for you sometimes and some of the other bait bullshit that goes in there.”
“It just pissed me off that the day of the fight to read that in my own hometown newspaper. F**k the Las Vegas Review-Journal. F**k ’em. I thought it was dirty, I thought it was a low blow and listen… at the end of the day people can write whatever they want, but so can I.”

What will liberal outlets like the LVRJ have to say after the event’s attendees don’t get sick or spread COVID as they claimed?
