Czech President Milos Zeman
Czech President Milos Zeman made the news last year when he criticized Islam and Muslims, saying that it was incompatible with European culture and life. In a recent interview, President Zeman again emphasized that Islam was the problem and the Muslims who would like to keep their culture should stay in their own countries.
From the UK Telegraph:
Czech Republic president Milos Zeman said that it is “impossible” to integrate Muslims from the Middle East into European societies because their core values are too dissimilar to those of Western populations.
In an outspoken interview the veteran left-winger blamed the New Year’s Eve rapes in Cologne on “Muslim culture” and said people who want to live according to Islamic law should not move to Europe to settle.
…
He said: “The experience of Western European countries which have ghettos and excluded localities shows that the integration of the Muslim community is practically impossible.
“Let them have their culture in their countries and not take it to Europe, otherwise it will end up like Cologne.”
He added: “Integration is possible with cultures that are similar, and the similarities may vary.”
The veteran politician, who is the first ever directly elected president of the Czech Republic, is known for his fiery anti-immigrant comments and has previously accused refugees “with iPhones” of exploiting their children to get asylum in the EU.
…
Last November he told a Czech newspaper: “The children serve as human shields for guys with iPhones to justify the wave of migrants.
“Those hiding behind the children in my opinion, do not deserve any compassion. They bring the children over in rubber dinghies, knowing they might drown.”
