51-year-old Donald Gould, the homeless piano player who was seen in a viral video earlier this year, recently performed in front of 70,000 people at a professional football game. Since the world witnessed his talents through the viral video, Gould has gotten his life back together and has been offered a number of important opportunities to help keep him on the right track.
“Never in my wildest dreams, Three months ago, if someone on the street came up to me and said, ‘you’re going to play the National Anthem for the 49ers,’ I’d say you’re crazy,” Gould told FOX13 News.
“When I first went out there, it was surreal. I was a bit overwhelmed,” he added.
Shortly after the video received impressive attention, Gould’s instant fame resulted in offers of new clothes, a makeover, and a paying gig at a local restaurant.
It all began in Sarasota, Florida where Gould stumbled upon a public piano that was recently installed on the city’s streets. The piano was donated as part of the Sarasota Keys Piano Project, which hopes to encourage creative expression in public spaces.
