Jury Finds Cop Guilty of Excessive Force, Department Grants Promotion

<p><img alt="b1hmvxugzwza5hasqptw" class="" height="222" src="http://xcdn.revolution-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/b1hmvxugzwza5hasqptw.gif?iv=193" width="489" /></p> <p><strong>Oregon</strong> – Jury finds police captain Rob Edwards liable for $181,170 in damages for delivering a karate kick and using his vehicle to ram a motorcyclist during a traffic stop.</p> <p>Although the district attorney’s office didn’t find any fault in the officers behavior and never filed charges against the motorcyclist Justin Wilkens, he decided to sue for damages after his medical bills and other expenses topped $31,000. Among Wilkens’ injuries were “a broken clavicle and fractured rib.”</p> <p>Local news says Edwards has been an Oregon State Trooper for 22 years and held the rank of lieutenant when this incident went down, having since been promoted to captain. He was apparently reprimanded by his superiors for “neglecting to report his use of force against Wilkens” but not cited for excessive force.</p> <p>The incident happened on Aug. 3, 2012, when Justin Wilkens was speeding in his Aprilia motorcycle and unwittingly passed Oregon State Police Officer Rob Edwards in an unmarked cop Camaro. After a few minutes of chase, Edwards rammed Wilkens off the bike, pulled a gun on him and kicked him in the chest.</p> <p><a href="http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/48/4876.asp" target="_blank"><em>TheNewspaper.com</em></a> says Edwards had his red-and-blue police lights on in the Camaro, but not a siren. The officer would testify he believed the biker was trying to elude him, but Wilkens asserted he didn’t realize he was being chased and “had never seen a black Camaro cop car before.”</p> <div id="attachment_40768" class="wp-caption aligncenter"> <p><a href="http://xcdn.revolution-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/camarolights.jpg?iv=193"><img alt="TheNewspaper.com’s photograph of the vehicles" class="size-medium wp-image-40768 no-display appear" height="228" src="http://xcdn.revolution-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/camarolights-320x228.jpg?iv=193" width="320" /></a></p> <p class="wp-caption-text">TheNewspaper.com’s photograph of the vehicles</p> </div> <p>I’ve never seen a police car quite like that either, and as you can see from <em>TheNewspaper.com</em>’s photograph of the vehicles the Camaro is pretty indistinguishable from a civilian car. Even the license plates look standard.</p> <p>“You can’t turn around 100 percent behind you when you’re riding a motorcycle,” Wilkens testified. “For one, you don’t want to do that because you take your eyes off the road. The mirror on the motorcycle vibrates. His car was an undercover car with low-profile lights…. When I found out that I was getting pulled over, I pulled over.”</p> <p>“He nearly took my leg off,” Wilkens explained. “On a dial clock, twelve o’clock facing forward, he hit me at about 7:30. And when you have your foot on a peg on a motorcycle, that’s about 8:30.”</p> <p>Edwards acknowledged in his testimony that Wilkens had already begun to comply with his repeated commands to get on the ground when Edwards landed a swift kick to the motorcyclist’s upper chest. OBAMA WINS: U.S. to Issue Visas to 300,000 Muslim Migrants

<p><img alt="" class="aligncenter" src="http://www.dailymedia.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Obama-and-refugees-1024x536-450x241-1.jpg" /></p> <p>(Breitbart) – On Wednesday, Senate Democrats successfully and predictably blocked what many conservatives described as Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)’s “Show Vote’” on refugee admissions.</p> <p> </p> <p>It has been called a show vote because the Ryan plan, even if the President signed it, would still allow the President to bring in an unlimited number of refugees from an unlimited number of countries.</p> <p>Democrats’ filibuster on the motion to proceed to Ryan’s show vote comes one month after Speaker Ryan sent President Obama a blank check to fund visa issuances to nearly 300,000 (temporary and permanent) Muslim migrants in the next 12 months alone. Ryan’s decision to fully-fund Obama’s immigration agenda arguably ceded any leverage he may otherwise have had over Democrats and ensured the large-scale migration into America would continue and grow.</p> <p>Ryan’s bill, known as the American SAFE Act, was blocked by 55-43.</p> <p>Ryan’s inability to develop a winning strategy suggests he failed at what he has called the “first duty of the government.”  Ryan declared after the SAFE Act’s initial passage in the House:</p> <p>“The first duty of our government is to keep the American people safe. That’s why, today, the House will vote on a plan to pause our Syrian refugee program… If our law enforcement and intelligence community cannot verify that each and every person coming here is not a security threat, then they shouldn’t be allowed in. Right now, the government can’t certify these standards, so this plan pauses the program. It’s a security test—not a religious test. This reflects our values. This reflects our responsibilities. And this is urgent. We cannot and should not wait to act—not when our national security is at stake.”</p> <p>Ryan informed the press that he had “reached out to our Democratic colleagues” in crafting the plan, and touted his acquisition a “veto-proof majority”—which no longer seems relevant since the Senate blocked further movement on the bill.</p> <p>While Ryan and House Republicans celebrated their supposed political victory— preparing to fully fund Obama’s refugee plans while offering up a show vote—  Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) never seemed concerned. As <em>The Hill</em> reported at the time: “When asked about the prospect of Obama vetoing the legislation, Reid said, ‘Don’t worry, it won’t get passed. Next question?’”</p> <p>Although many House Republicans seemed convinced that putting forth a toothless bill was a brilliant strategy, many conservatives were not. For instance, Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC)’s office denounced Ryan’s bill as a “show vote” that would “do nothing to cut off the funding for President Barack Obama’s plan to import tens of thousands of Middle Eastern refugees into the U.S.” Jones explained that “defunding President Obama’s refugee program is the only way to ensure there is an actual halt to a refugee influx.”</p> <p>Hot Air’s AllahPundit even observed that Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)’s bill was more substantive than Paul Ryan’s: “Another irony: when you compare the House GOP’s bill to what Senate Dems are pushing, it’s the Democratic bill that’s more substantive.”</p> <p>Mark Levin slammed Ryan’s entire proposal as a fraud. “You’re not securing the homeland, you’re pretending to secure the homeland,” Levin declared, later tweeting out: “Washington fighting over phony policy and want you to think it is serious.”</p> <p>Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) explained that the legislation Ryan pushed through the House “allows the President to continue to bring in as many refugees as he wants from anywhere in the world.”</p> <p>In a post entitled, “Uh, the House Bill to Pause the Syrian Refugee Program Doesn’t Really Pause the Syrian Refugee Program,” National Review’s Rich Lowry wrote: “It was nice to see the House get a veto-proof majority for its Syrian refugee bill. The problem is, when you get down to it, it doesn’t do anything.”</p> <p>Given these reactions, it is unsurprising that there was no public momentum behind Ryan’s bill.</p> <p>But Ryan further ensured there would be no momentum for his strategy— and no pressure on Democrats— by attacking conservatives’ desire to block Muslim immigration. Ryan went to great lengths to ensure America that, as long as he was in charge, no proposals to restrict mass Muslim migration would be tolerated.</p> <p>Ryan—who, according to recent reports, is “rapidly emerging as Republicans’ anti-Trump” and as a “counterweight to Trump”—made a concerted effort to frame his refugee plan in this light.</p> <p>Indeed, in early December, Ryan held a press conference publicly condemning the GOP frontrunner’s proposal to temporarily pause Muslim migration. Ryan declared that Trump’s plan “is not conservatism”—even though 65% of all conservative voters think America should allow zero refugees from the Middle East into America, according to Rasmussen. Ryan also adopted the left’s talking point—insisting that there is no need to curb Muslim migration into the United States because “the vast, vast, vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and believe in pluralism, freedom, democracy and individual rights.”</p> <p>It was never publicly explained by House Republicans how there would be momentum for their strategy if Speaker Ryan was using his pulpit to ensure America that massive Muslim immigration would make America a more free, peaceful, and democratic nation.</p> <p>Similarly, in a nationally televised interview with Sean Hannity, Ryan ruled out the possibility of curbing Muslim migration, proclaiming: “That’s not who we are”.</p> <p>Perhaps most noticeably, Ryan helped recruit Nikki Haley to deliver the Republican’s State of the Union rebuttal, in which Haley criticized Trump’s proposal to curb Muslim migration and made the case for functionally unlimited immigration.</p> <p>By framing Muslim immigration as a huge positive for America, and by putting up a show vote that did not reduce Muslim immigration in any way, the result was that there was no capacity to put any public pressure on Democrats to change their position. One aide, Breitbart News spoke with put it this way:</p> <p>“If we wanted to beat Democrats, we needed to highlight the attacks on women carried out by Muslims, highlight the sinister spread of Female Genital Mutilation, highlight the welfare costs, and cultural dangers, the spread of radical Islam inside our borders. Then, we need a proposal to actually pause Muslim immigration. Instead, Paul Ryan celebrated the idea of unlimited Muslim immigration— with all its transformative effects— while putting forward a bill that did nothing. Democrats never broke a sweat. Having Ryan in charge of refugee strategy is like putting the world’s fattest man in charge of your diet plan.”</p> <p>Indeed, Ryan seemed much more eager to collaborate with Democrats. When pressed about his refugee bill, Ryan expressed his desire to cooperate with Democrats— not dissimilar from his $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill, which was praised by Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Reid, and the White House. Ryan said:</p> <p>“This should not be a partisan issue… This should not be about Republicans and Democrats. This should be about keeping America safe… We’re trying to make this bipartisan because we don’t think this should be a Republican or Democrat issue, it should be an American security issue.”</p> <p>Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly warned fifty years ago that the donor-class—or Kingmakers, as she calls them—who control the Republican Party prefer lawmakers and candidates “who would sidestep or suppress the key issues” by compromising with Democrats on the issues that matter to Republican voters.</p> <p>Schlafly explained that in doing so, the Kingmakers are able to create an ostensible consensus between both Party leaders—and, as a result, voters are denied their ability to choose a party that represents their interests, since both parties represent merely an echo of the other side. Thus, Ryan’s declarations that, “We don’t think this should be a Republican or Democrat issue,” and “We’re trying to make this bipartisan,” and “This should be about keeping America safe” bears striking resemblance to what Schlafly warned about in 1964:</p> <p>“The kingmakers and their propaganda apparatus have launched a series of false slogans designed to mask the failure of their candidates to debate the major issues. Some of these are the following: ‘Politics should stop at the water’s edge.’ ‘We must unite behind our President who has sole power in the field of foreign affairs.’ ‘Foreign policy should be bipartisan.’ ”</p> <p>In response to today’s failure, Ryan issued a tepid five-sentence response reproaching Senate Democrats’ maneuver as “irresponsible.” While Ryan’s strategy turned out to be unsuccessful, the outcome was not perhaps entirely surprising. In his “bold” Republican agenda released last week, Ryan— who has a two-decade long history of pushing mass immigration — did not include a word about an immigration crackdown. Economic Collapse Happening Now -Rob Kirby & Greg Hunter Video

<p> </p> <p>Macroeconomic analyst Rob Kirby’s predictions of a downward spiraling economy are coming true. Kirby contends, “I think the last time we spoke, it was in early December. I suggested that a window was opening where we were very likely to see some systemic breakdowns in our financial universe to likely start occurring. Low and behold, it looks like we are seeing the beginnings of exactly what we were speaking of. The reason why we are beginning to see these things start to unfold now is that everything we’ve been told by our financial elites . . . has basically been a lie or a false flag or fraudulent.”</p> <p>One of the many lies Kirby points out is the Fed’s recent rate hike because the economy had improved. Kirby disagrees and says, “My analysis says nothing could be further from the truth. . . . U.S. dollar reserve holdings have dropped close to $1 trillion in the last eight or nine months, and that’s on a global scale. What happens when reserves drop means that foreigners have been selling U.S. government securities. They are abandoning the dollar, and if <strong>foreigners are abandoning the dollar,</strong> the question is who’s buying them? The answer to who is buying the reserves is the U.S. Treasury itself. Specifically, it is the Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF) within the U.S. Treasury.”</p> <p>Kirby goes on to explain, “Because the ESF is buying all these Treasuries that foreign countries are pitching . . . with off-book money these Treasuries do not show up in reserve accounts. This creates a real dichotomy. You’ve got these global U.S. dollar (USD) reserves dropping, but you have this illusion or gimmickry of a strong dollar. Remember, the dollar has been strengthening for the last 9 months. The dollar can’t keep getting stronger if the world is bailing on dollars. The drop in the USD reserves doesn’t support the narrative of a strong dollar. So, something had to be done to put reserves back into the system. . . . The Fed had to give the illusion of tightening and tighten once. . . . This is their attempt . . . to make their narrative sound believable that the dollar is strong and the world isn’t abandoning U.S. government securities.”</p> <p>Kirby contends that a collapse isn’t coming but is <strong>“already happening now.”</strong> Kirby explains, “I believe we are in the process.” How has this financial collapse been put off so long? Kirby says, “I have been known as a conspiracy theorist, a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist for the last ten years of my life because I said the markets are rigged. Now, a former Fed President has come out and said ‘yes, we rigged the markets.’  So, how are you left? Of course, they have rigged the markets, and the sad thing is the rigging is going to get more extreme because these people are acting and operating like cornered rats. Cornered rats are very, very dangerous animals and can inflict a lot of damage. . . ”</p> <p>On physical gold and silver supplies, Kirby says, “Gold and silver are not as loved here as in the Asian countries. It’s relatively more plentiful here, but that can all change in a very short period of time. At some point, the available stocks in the West will disappear, and when they start to disappear, it will seem like a bolt of lightning coming out of the clear blue sky because they will be gone in no time.”</p> <p>What is Kirby’s prediction for the price of gold and silver by the end of 2016? Kirby boldly says, “I think it could be many multiples of the price right now.” What do Kirby’s billionaire contact say? Kirby reports, “They say they think we are very close to the end. I don’t want to see the end because it’s not going to be a happy day, not for me, not for you—not anyone. It’s going to change the way we live–dramatically. . . . The rate of these seizures in the equity markets are likely to quicken and intensify. Aspiring pilot Frederick Valentich was just 20 years old when he went on a training flight in Australia’s Bass Strait. During the flight, he radioed Melbourne’s Air Traffic Control to let them know he was being “shadowed” by an unidentified object about 1,000 feet above his airplane. Valentich told air traffic controllers it definitely wasn’t an aircraft, and the UFO was “orbiting” around his plane and emitting a bright, green light. Almost immediately, he began to experience engine problems. The controller then heard a scraping noise before all contact was lost.</p> <p>A four-day search took place, but there weren’t any signs of Valentich nor his plane. <p><img alt="UN flag" class="aligncenter" height="331" src="http://static1.squarespace.com/static/4f34530ecb12e336a9dfe29c/t/5211917ee4b01103f3656b68/1376883072554/bigstock-Un-Flag-33396209.jpg?format=750w" width="498" /></p> <p>A reader recently sent us a realistic-looking <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/750427-unoda.html">document</a> from the United Nations with a pretty explosive claim — that the world body is moving forward with plans to help member nations disarm their civilian populations of “military grade,” “concealable” and “hunting grade” firearms, and even “ammunition and components to manufacture ammunition.”</p> <p>Americans who support the right to bear arms have long expressed worry that the U.S. government is on the verge of taking away lawful citizens’ guns, and that concern has only increased when a U.N. body is believed to play a supporting role.</p> <p>The document sent to us by the reader would seem to be (pardon the expression) a smoking gun.</p> <p>Superficially, the document has the trappings of officialdom — a blue U.N. logo at the top, along with the name of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, a real office. It’s dated Aug. 5, 2013, and labeled “restricted.” The headline reads, “Disarmament Commission — Civilian Weapons Confiscation Study Group.” And it’s filled with believable bureaucratic jargon, such as creation of a “codification framework” and the need to undergo a “full review by the Office of the Secretary General.”</p> <p>Here’s the full text:</p> <blockquote> <p><em>“The issue of military grade weaponry in the hands of civilians looms ever larger in the face of the global implementation of 22/Agenda 21 by member nations. In particular, the United States of America has an estimated 500 million weapons in the hands of its civilian population. This is not just a static problem, it is a massive dynamic problem for the process of confiscation as there will be those who refuse to surrender their firearms.</em></p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p><em>“The conclusion of discussions by the CWCSG led to the adoption of a proposed agenda to begin the process for introducing to member nations a framework by which they can begin codification of national laws to disarm civilians within their borders through a graduated process.</em></p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p><em>“Within the discussion framework, we have identified several problem areas that must be addressed, they are:</em></p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p><em>“1. But is it real?</p> <p>When we checked with the United Nations, a spokesman declared it a fake.</p> <p>“I checked the document number on our internal document system, and the reply I got back now was simply, ‘There is no document matching your request,’ said Farhan Haq, associate spokesperson for the Secretary-General. “The document number (A/CN.11/L.72) doesn’t conform to our standard system, in any case.”</p> <p>In addition, Haq said, “there is no such body as a ‘Civilian Weapons Confiscation Study Group.’ Nor does the United Nations involve itself in confiscating weapons from member states.”</p> <p>Finally, Haq said, “the use of blue ink, some of the type font and the scanner icon in the bottom right-hand corner are not found in real U.N. documents. This brings the total number to 113, according to information provided by Congressional sources.</p> <p>You would think that our president would want as much information as possible about these alleged terrorists, but the Obama administration has consistently stonewalled congressional efforts to obtain more detailed immigration histories of these individuals.</p> <p>Some have now begun accusing the administration of purposefully covering up this information to avoid exposing flaws in the U.S. screening process.</p> <p>Because it’s more important for us to look safe than to actually be safe… right?</p> <p> </p> <p>In one recent case, the Justice Department  <a href="http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/texas-man-charged-attempting-provide-material-support-isil" target="_blank">accused</a> <a href="http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/california-man-arrested-making-false-statements-terrorism-investigation" target="_blank">two</a> Iraqi refugees legally in the U.S. of conspiring to provide support to the Islamic State group.</p> <p>One of the accused, Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, was a 24-year-old Iraqi refugee who had been granted legal permanent residence in Houston in 2011, though it was later determined that he “swore untruthfully on his formal application when applying to become a naturalized U.S. citizen,” according to the Justice Department.</p> <p>Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, also a refugee, allegedly “traveled overseas to fight alongside terrorist organizations and lied to U.S. authorities about his activities,” according to the <a href="http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/california-man-arrested-making-false-statements-terrorism-investigation" target="_blank">Justice Department</a>.</p> <p>“The terrorism-related arrests of two more Iraqi refugees on American soil proves once again our screening process is weak and needs to be updated,” Sen. Mark Kirk said in a Jan. 8 statement.</p> <p>These were not isolated incidents, as officials continue to discover cases in which individuals accused of terrorism entered the country legally.</p> <p>“Preventing and responding to these acts is an effort encompassing thousands of federal agents and attorneys and billions of dollars: In effect, we are voluntarily admitting individuals at risk for terrorism and then, on the back end, trying to stop them from carrying out their violent designs,” Sen. Jeff Sessions warned.</p> <p>Sessions and other conservatives are right. We must prevent these terrorists from entering our country in the first place. NASA claims: Dozens of advanced ancient civilizations collapsed before us

In the study we find that <em>“Technological change can raise the efficiency of resource use, but it also tends to raise both per capita resource consumption and the scale of resource extraction, so that, absent policy effects, the increases in consumption often compensate for the increased efficiency of resource use.”</em></p> <p>One of the best examples of advanced ancient civilizations disappearing can be found in Mesoamerica.</p> <p>If we take a look at the ancient Maya who were an extremely advanced ancient civilization we find that several factors played a crucial role for this once great empire to crumble eventually. While most researchers would agree that Deforestation, Famine and Drought where some of the key components in the failure of the ancient Maya, we find a similar pattern in other civilizations, not only I the Americas, but around the globe.</p> <p>Motesharrei and his colleagues conclude that under conditions “closely reflecting the reality of the world today… we find that collapse is difficult to avoid.” In the first of these scenarios, civilization:</p> <p><em>“…. appears to be on a sustainable path for quite a long time, but even using an optimal depletion rate and starting with a very small number of Elites, the Elites eventually consume too much, resulting in a famine among Commoners that eventually causes the collapse of society. FLASHBACK: Obama Hopes America Has Forgotten What He Said About Guns In 2013

<p><img alt="" class="aligncenter" height="331" src="http://media.salon.com/2015/12/obama_gun_rally.jpg" width="498" /></p> <p>The Obama administration has made it painfully clear that infringing upon the Second Amendment  through “gun control” will be a top priority during President Barack Obama’s final year in office.</p> <p>This was exemplified by his recent announcement of several unilateral executive actions he would be taking in an effort to implement stricter gun control.</p> <p>However, more than a few of the items on Obama’s list of infringing actions seem somewhat familiar, something that was actually pointed out by the left-leaning media outlet Vice News.</p> <p>It turns out that many of the “new” proposals put forward by our <a href="http://conservativetribune.com/obama-gun-control-speech/" target="_blank">emotional president</a> were originally introduced during his big push for gun control in 2013, following the horrible massacre of school children at Sandy Hook in 2012.</p> <p>Obama recently spoke about closing the “gun trust loophole,” forcing those who purchase or possess firearms through a trust or corporation to go through a background check. He already proposed this rule in 2013, and it is expected to be finalized and implemented soon.</p> <p>Obama also spoke about encouraging hospitals and medical professionals to violate patient privacy protections as laid out in the HIPPA laws, reporting individuals to authorities if they suffer from mental health issues. This illegal action was also originally proposed in Obama’s 2013 gun control measures.</p> <p>Obama directed the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Justice to conduct research and development of “smart guns,” an unreliable technology that would ostensibly only allow a firearm to be used by its rightful owner. Obama Vetoes Congress Obamacare Repeal

<p><img alt="President Obama vetoes Obamacare repeal" class="aligncenter" height="249" src="http://cdns.yournewswire.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Obama-vetoes-obamacare-repeal.jpg" width="498" /></p> <p>In a defiant veto message on Friday, the President said, “<em>because of the harm this bill would cause to the health and financial security of millions of Americans, it has earned my veto</em>.”</p> <p><a href="http://presstv.com/Detail/2016/01/08/445054/US-Obama-Obamacare-healthcare-/" target="_blank">Presstv.com</a> reports:</p> <p>The president blasted the Republicans in Congress, who he said “have attempted to repeal or undermine the Affordable Care Act over 50 times.”</p> <p>“Rather than refighting old political battles by once again voting to repeal basic protections that provide security for the middle class, Members of Congress should be working together to grow the economy, strengthen middle-class families, and create new jobs,” Obama stated.</p> <p>According to the White House, the president’s landmark healthcare legislation has given insurance to 17.6 million Americans who did not have it previously.</p> <p>The GOP bill targeting Obamacare passed the House of Representatives on Wednesday by a margin of 240 to 181, with only one Democrat voting in favor of it.</p> <p>The legislation would also have blocked federal money for Planned Parenthood, something conservatives in Congress pledged to do following the release of a series of videos by an anti-abortion group in 2015 which caused a controversy about the sale of fetal tissue.</p> <p>In response to Obama’s veto, House Speaker Paul Ryan said that he would hold an override vote.</p> <p>“It’s no surprise that someone named Obama vetoed a bill repealing Obamacare,” Ryan said in a statement. He added that “the idea that Obamacare is the law of the land for good is a myth. <p>Taya Kyle, the wife of slain “American Sniper” hero Chris Kyle, was already a favorite among conservatives. However, when the widow recently confronted President Barack Obama over his latest gun control regulations, she became an even bigger star among those with a healthy respect for the Second Amendment.</p> <p>The confrontation came at Obama’s gun violence “town hall meeting” (three words which, when strung together, are now completely bereft of meaning) stunt Thursday night on CNN.</p> <p>Kyle, whose husband was killed by gun violence, lashed out at the president over his new regulations’ lack of efficacy and his inability to acknowledge the downward trend of gun violence, even as gun ownership skyrockets.</p> <p> </p> <p>“I think that your message of hope is something I agree with. I think it’s great. And I think that by creating new laws you do give people hope,” Taya Kyle said to the president. “<strong>The thing is that the laws we create don’t stop these horrific things from happening, right</strong>? And that’s a very tough pill to swallow.”</p> <p>Kyle then pointed out that none of the recent shootings Obama’s new unilateral regulations likely wouldn’t have stopped any of the crimes they were enacted in response to.</p> <p>“I don’t know that any of them would have been stopped by a background check,” Kyle said.</p> <p>“So I think part it we have to recognize is we cannot outlaw murder,” she said. “Because the people who are murdering are breaking the law, but they also don’t have the moral code that we have. So they can do the same amount of damage with a pipe bomb. The problem is that they want to murder.”</p> <p>Kyle then pointed out that gun violence and gun ownership are inversely correlated: “We are at the lowest murder rate in our country. All time of low of murders.
