One Of The Most Thought Provoking Art Installations Seen At Burning Man This Year…

<p><a href="http://cdn9.trueactivist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/burning1-728x400.jpg"><img alt="burning1-728x400" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-40402" height="400" src="http://cdn9.trueactivist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/burning1-728x400.jpg" width="728" /></a></p> <p>The Burning Man Festival in Nevada has come to be known as a mecca for artist of all types, who come out to the desert once a year to express themselves in their own unique way. Thousands of dancers, painters, musicians and other creative people turned the desert into a massive art project for a week, and afterwards some of the most popular pieces were posted to social media and shared all over the world.</p> <p>One art installation in particular, captured the hearts of millions because it touched on a very deep concept that everyone could relate to. The piece was called LOVE, by Ukraine artist Alexandr Milov, and showed a wire frame of two adults sitting back to back, with their heads in their hands in disagreement with one another, while their inner children lit up inside of them reaching out to connect with the other person.</p> <p>The <a href="https://www.facebook.com/freeandequal/photos/a.10151488704213868.585115.45413563867/10154427224043868/?type=1&theater&__mref=message" target="_blank">Free And Equal Facebook</a> page was one of the first to share this piece before it went viral. Some Guy Has Pointed Out Something REALLY Strange About The 9/11 Footage We’ve Been Watching All These Years

<p>Footage of flight 175 was aired around the world on that fateful day, and few people questioned it at the time. But wait a minute- what's going on with that wing?</p> <p><a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/some-guy-has-pointed-out-something-really-strange-about-the-911-footage-weve-been-watching-all-these-years/op-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-40258"><img alt="op" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-40258" height="486" src="http://cdn10.trueactivist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/op.jpg" width="750" /></a></p> <hr /> <p>On 9/11, millions of us around the world watched flight 175 smashing into World Trade Center South Tower. To be more accurate, we watched footage shown <em>after</em> the event, footage so shocking that almost everyone failed to see something rather strange about the left-hand wing of the airplane.</p> <p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3NtaDC_ZEo">In this rare video</a>, the footage is slowed down to the point where you can see the plane penetrate the building. It does so easily, like a knife cutting through hot butter. Many <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/richard-gage-of-architects-and-engineers-for-911-truth-gets-mainstream-coverage-on-cspan/" target="_blank">architects</a> and experts have claimed this is an impossibility: remember that these structures were steel-framed and concrete-reinforced. They had powerful, sturdy beams made from the strongest steel, and each beam was 12 inches thick. The plane explodes <em>inside</em> the building, rather than on impact.</p> <p>So far, nothing that would make the vast majority of people sit up and take notice. The official story, although it is full of holes, is something we would all like to believe: the idea that we might have been <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/bushs-911-lies-a-complilation/" target="_blank">lied</a> to is too terrible to even contemplate. But just look at what happens to the plane’s wing as it flies into the tower block. Rather than being super-imposed <em>on top of</em> the building behind the WTC, it appears <em>behind</em> the construction in the background. This clearly defies logic, even if we wish it didn’t.</p> <p>According to <a href="http://nodisinfo.com/doc-decide-want-post-must-see-911-flight-175/" target="_blank">Nodisinfo.com</a>, ‘The real images, the photographs on the ground, the ones not corrupted by Photoshop, tell all. In this respect the David Handschuh photo is the ultimate proof.’ The site then shows a photograph taken by a guy called Handschuh of the WTC impact <span>as it happened</span> from the street. Nodisinfo reports: ‘Handschuh was at the base of the building when it was detonated. The lateral movement of material from inside the building out is hard proof against any claim of a real plane strike, which, as a result of the laws of physics, could never creation such massive motion in the opposite direction. Look carefully at the explosion. the fire and smoke are exploding in almost a 90-degree angle to the building, straight out, never in. Clearly, there is a simultaneous detonation occurring on the opposite side, possibly at the same level and also at a lower level.’</p> <p>What are your personal views? Fox News Deleted Report In Wake Of 9/11: Israeli Spies Could Be Linked To Attacks

<p>Revelations that Mossad spies were active in the USA were aired shortly after the tragic event</p> <span>[embedded content]</span> <hr /> <p>A Fox news series in the wake of 9/11 reported that Israel is “spying in and on the US”, and that “since September 11th more than 60 Israelis have been arrested or detained.”</p> <p>In a four-part series which was later removed from air and deleted from Fox’s archives, the report states that Israeli spies, some posing as art students, “‘targeted and penetrated FBI, DEA, other secret offices and private homes of law enforcement officers.”</p> <p>The spies were captured and failed polygraph tests when asked about the events of 9/11. Upon investigating this, Fox reporters were told: “Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified.” One group of Israelis, possibly working for the Mossad espionage agency, had set themselves up in a house in California, where they were suspected of spying on a group of Arabs.</p> <p>While the report admits that this is not conclusive proof that Israeli forces were responsible for 9/11, there is strong evidence to suggest that they were “gathering information about the attacks <em>in advance</em>, and not sharing it.”</p> <p>Fox news had access to classified documents that showed over 140 Israelis had been detained or arrested prior to the attacks “in a secretive and sprawling investigation into espionage by Israelis in the United States.”</p> <p>The report is 20 minutes long, and well worth watching in its entirety. If Top Architects And Experts Don’t Believe The 9/11 Story, Why Should You?

<p>Sometimes we need to sit up and listen to uncomfortable questions- especially when they are posed by people who know far more than us</p> <span>[embedded content]</span> <hr /> <p>This is a trailer for the 2012 documentary film <em>9/11: Explosive Evidence- experts speak out</em>. It begins with Robert McCoy, a high-rise architect, stating he “does not want to be involved with <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/these-bold-911-billboards-in-busy-downtown-cores-will-wake-up-thousands/" target="_blank">conspiracy</a> theories,” but admitting that despite this, he has some doubts about the official <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/seattle-seahawks-coach-shows-support-for-911-truth/" target="_blank">9/11</a> story that just won’t go away. McCoy is just one of over 1500 <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/richard-gage-of-architects-and-engineers-for-911-truth-gets-mainstream-coverage-on-cspan/" target="_blank">architects</a> and 12,000 other scientists and experts who have signed a petition asking for the US government to re-investigate the tragic events of that day.</p> <p>The clip summarizes their concerns: Firstly, the NISTA report into the collapse of buildings was not based on any scientific method and has denied and ignored vital and overwhelming evidence pointing to the use of explosives. World Trade Center <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/ask-your-neighbors-the-building-7-challenge-this-year-on-911/" target="_blank">Building 7</a>, for example, descended in freefall for 100 feet- that’s 8 storeys- with “no resistance whatsoever.” Given that we were told it collapsed due to an office fire, is that even possible? Not according to the architects and scientists featured in this documentary. “The columns were clearly severed <span>at the same time</span>,” says one, while another calls it a “classic implosion” with “evidence of melting steel…an office fire can’t do this.” One expert goes as far as to say that “you don’t need to be an engineer to <em>see</em> what happened.”</p> <p>Nano-thermite (an explosive) was discovered in dust taken from the scene, as were iron micro-spheres, “which are only formed at extremely high temperatures.” An ordinary fire cannot account for these discoveries, or for the way in which Building 7 fell. The experts point out that NISTA didn’t even <em>look</em> for explosives (the “most likely hypothesis” from a scientific perspective) and they concur that “evidence was removed from the scene of the crime.”</p> <p>Although millions of Americans will continue to scoff at these ‘conspiracy theories’, the question remains: If these people, who know far more about these issues than you and I, cannot bring themselves to believe the official <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/aphex-twin-urges-his-fans-to-question-the-official-story-of-911-attacks/" target="_blank">9/11</a> story, why should we blindly buy into it?</p> <p>We need to detach from emotive responses and ask ourselves whether it is possible that the Bush administration lied. Why would they do that? The USA and Britain needed to cause mass panic and fear on a level never seen before so that they could gain public support for invading <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/carl-sagans-son-shows-public-support-for-911-truth/" target="_blank">Afghanistan</a> (and all the Middle Eastern oil-rich countries they have <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/this-child-could-be-your-son-where-is-the-love-and-compassion-in-the-debate-about-europes-refugee-crisis/" target="_blank">attacked</a> since then). Without <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/families-of-911-victims-on-verge-of-proving-government-cover-up-in-court/" target="_blank">9/11</a>, the American people would never have given their approval for the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/must-watch-ex-marine-goes-crazy-blows-whistle-on-syrian-false-flag-and-real-agenda/" target="_blank">endless</a>, bloody <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/un-commissioner-says-war-on-terror-is-laying-waste-to-human-rights/" target="_blank">War</a> On <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/iran-congratulates-iraq-on-exit-of-us-vampires/" target="_blank">Terror</a> we are still waging 14 years later, and it’s highly unlikely they would have given their sons and daughters to the military without an event that sparked fierce patriotism and widespread <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/this-child-could-be-your-son-where-is-the-love-and-compassion-in-the-debate-about-europes-refugee-crisis/" target="_blank">Islamophobia</a>. Ask Your Neighbors The “Building 7 Challenge” This Year On 9/11

After getting his gear set up, Tuskin started something that he called “The Building 7 Challenge.” The idea was to show people footage of <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/?s=building+7">building 7</a> falling at free fall speed on 9/11 2011, and just ask them what they saw on the video without first telling them when the footage was taken.</p> <p>A vast majority of the people who he interviewed, even police officers that were called the scene, stated that it was fairly obvious that the building was demolished. After they gave their answers, Tuskin informed them that the footage was in fact from <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/?s=world+trade+center" target="_blank">World Trade Center</a> Building 7, the building that collapsed, but was not hit by a plane.</p> <p>Despite the fact that building 7 appeared to be demolished and was not on fire as the other buildings were, there are many people who are not even aware that it fell on that day, and many others who think that it is simply a conspiracy theory.</p> <p>There is so much evidence that has come to light since the collapse of the world trade centers that it is now quite clear that there was a massive cover-up involved in this situation. There were also many members of the establishment, employees of the CIA, FBI, NSA and other organizations who caught on to the cover up while it was happening. These whistleblowers successfully exposed the cover up beyond a reasonable doubt, but their stories were largely ignored by the mainstream media. The testimony of people like Sibel Edmonds, Richard Andrew Grove, William Bergman, Coleen Rowley, J. Michael Springmann, Robert Wright, Indira Singh and Barry Jennings totally blows the official government account out of the water.</p> <p>Among the piles of scientific and anecdotal evidence, there are now over 1300 architects and engineers who have signed a petition demanding of Congress a truly independent investigation. This independent investigation is necessary because the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/?s=9%2F11" target="_blank">9/11</a> commission was a total puppet committee, who just pushed the story that the pentagon ordered them to.</p> <p>The wars that are happening around the world, the police state that is expanding in the western world and general lack of privacy and peace worldwide is justified by the official story of the world trade center attacks on 9/11. Almost every specific point of the general story contradicts all evidence and eye witness accounts. The 9/11 commission, which was developed to investigate the issue was a setup. How do we know this? Most of the people who sat on the 9/11 commission have since come forward admitting that they were not allowed to look into most of the evidence and that they were tightly controlled by the pentagon. One commissioner John Farmer has even come out and wrote a book called “The Ground Truth” in which he reveals the details of how the 9/11 commission report was basically written by the government. California EPA To Label Monsanto’s Roundup As A Cancer Causing Chemical

This is just the most recent warning that has been leveled against the chemical by environmental and health groups around the world. In the past year, government agencies have finally caught up with activists who have been protesting against <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/?s=monsanto" target="_blank">Monsanto</a> and their dangerous products for years.</p> <p>In a <a href="http://theantimedia.org/roundup-probably-causes-cancer-in-humans/">statement</a> released earlier this year, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) announced that glyphosate, the main ingredient in RoundUp, is “probably carcinogenic.”</p> <p>This week, the EPA’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment in California released a “notice of intent” to label the product as a carcinogen. Meanwhile, the issue is up for discussion for California residents, who have until October 5th to speak their mind on the measure. Due to a law passed in the state in 1986 called Proposition 65, the state is required to publish a list of chemicals that are known to cause cancer birth defects or reproductive problems. Now that glyphosate is now on that list officially worldwide, the state is required to add it to the list.</p> <p>Nathan Donley, staff scientist with the Center for Biological Diversity in San Francisco said that this is a major victory in the fight against <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/?s=pesticide" target="_blank">dangerous pesticides.</a></p> <p><em>“California’s taking an important step toward protecting people and wildlife from this toxic pesticide. It’s nearly impossible for people to limit exposure to this toxin because it is just so widespread. That’s why we need much tighter controls on its use,”</em> Donley said.</p> <p><em>“More than 250 million pounds of glyphosate are used each year in the United States, and the science is clear that it’s a threat to public health and countless wildlife species. Justice At Last: Spain Is Forcing Banks To Pay Fines For Empty Homes

<p>Barcelona’s new mayor has kept her promise to go after the banks who started the crisis, and other cities are doing the same</p> <p><a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/justice-at-last-spain-is-forcing-banks-to-pay-fines-for-empty-homes/banker/" rel="attachment wp-att-40152"><img alt="banker" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-40152" height="410" src="http://cdn11.trueactivist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/banker.jpg" width="750" /></a></p> <hr /> <p>In a decision which should cause many a bankster to quake in their boots, the Spanish city of Barcelona has handed down a fine which totals 60,000 euros ($67,640) to three Spanish banks in an effort to force them to make use of empty properties. One hundred other towns and cities, including the capital Madrid, have implemented similar penalties in recent months.</p> <p>Over one third of all the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/3-5-million-homeless-and-18-5-million-vacant-homes-in-the-us/">vacant homes</a> in Europe are located in Spain. The financial crisis hit the country hard: over 3.4 million houses are empty and rising unemployment has seen a sharp increase in mortgage defaults, with 95 homes a day seized by authorities in 2014.</p> <p>Barcelona’s mayor Ada Colau wants to stop all of that. She took power in May this year and is a housing and anti-poverty activist who co-founded the campaign group MVP (Mortgage Victim’s Platform) to fight the banks who started this crisis. Colau, 41, is also leader of the grassroots group Barcelona en Comú (Barcelona in common), a coalition of several left-wing political parties and thousands of citizen-activists.</p> <p>The law allowing Barcelona to crack down on banks with <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/gab_gallery/18600000-vacant-homes-in-the-united-states-enough-for-every-homeless-person-to-have-six/">empty homes</a> was passed in 2014, but was never applied until now. The charges relate to 12 properties that have been empty for over two years. The banks- BBVA, Banco Sabadell and Sareb- have one month to find tenants or they will have to pay an additional fine of €10,000 ($11,274). If no action is taken after two months they will face another penalty of up to €15,000 ($16,913). She plans to increase subsidies for those who fall behind on their rent payments, and has promised more public housing in the city. She has also vowed to tackle inequality and political corruption (an ongoing problem in Spain) and she aims to make the city council transparent in its dealings and finances. Job creation and the problem of multinational companies and plush hotels spoiling the historic city’s authenticity and uniqueness (and pushing up rent prices so much that local people cannot afford to live there) are also top on her to-do list.</p> <p>In April, while running as mayoral candidate, Colau <a href="http://adacolau.cat/en/post/dine-or-not-dine-bankers" target="_blank">blogged</a> about the difficulty as a housing activist to decide whether or not to dine with bankers: “I also don’t think there’s anything wrong in meeting people for lunch or dinner, especially with the full diaries we have at the moment. And yet… And yet something tells me that hiding behind these unimportant anecdotes are practices that are strongly related to the sins of our imperfect democracy,” she wrote.</p> <p>The first time a bank was slapped with a fine for leaving properties sitting empty was in 2013, when the city of Terrassa (also in the region of Cataluna, which is fighting to become autonomous from the rest of Spain) handed out fines of 5000 euros to three banks. They appealed against the decision, but lost their case.</p> <p>Meanwhile in the capital city, mayor Manuela Carmena is also prioritizing the big issue of housing and homelessness, overturning eviction orders for 70 families and promising to protect a further 2000 families at risk. Like Colau, Carmena was also swept to victory on May 24 this year when Spanish people voted overwhelmingly for an end to injustice and corruption.</p> <p>Both women are members of left-wing coalitions associated with Spanish political party <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podemos_(Spanish_political_party)" target="_blank">Podemos</a> (a name which translates as ‘We can’). This anti-austerity party is similar to Greece’s <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/cause-for-celebration-greece-just-told-the-bankers-to-stick-their-loans-and-austerity/" target="_blank">Syriza</a>, and has seen a huge rise in support due to the human suffering caused by the 2008 crash. Stephan Richter, a reporter for the German television channel RTL was on the scene and was able to film the incident.</p> <p>After the incident occurred, it was discovered that the Hungarian news website Index had footage of László kicking a young girl and boy on a separate occasion.</p> <p>N1TV, the company that employs László said that she has been fired, saying that her behavior was “unacceptable.”</p> <p>Editor in chief of N1TV Szabolcs Kisberk said in a statement that “<em>The camerawoman’s employment has today been terminated with immediate effect, the case is now closed for us.”</em></p> <p>As we have been reporting in recent weeks, the refugee situation in Europe has been met with both uplifting and disappointing reactions. <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/german-woman-who-survived-ww2-explains-why-shes-helping-refugees/" target="_blank">Germany has been extremely open</a> and generous to the refugees, while other places are more resistant. Chinese Government Says They Will Choose Who The Next Dalai Lama Will Be

Now they are claiming that they should be the ones to decide who the next Dalai Lama will be.</p> <p>The Chinese government has been officially atheist since the reign of Mao and have been opposed to the spread of Buddhism within its borders. Their feud with the Dalai Lama is not purely philosophical though, they have many other political motivations as well, namely the fact that the government of China have been fighting with Tibetan Buddhists over the region of Tibet since before the 1950’s.</p> <p>The area was traditionally fairly independent until the Chinese government under Mao began to take it over and assimilate the region into the country of China. Now, Buddhists have become a persecuted minority in Tibet, where they once lived in peace.</p> <p>To add insult to injury, the Chinese government is now claiming that they have the authority to dictate who the next Dalai Lama will be.</p> <p>Traditionally, it has been the responsibility of the High Lamas of the Gelugpa tradition and the Buddhist Tibetan government to decide who the next Dalai Lama will be. In theory, the new Dalai Lama is believed to be a reincarnation of the old one. However, since the Tibetan government has been taken over by China, they believe that they are the ones who should decide.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ancient-origins.net/news-general/chinese-government-says-they-will-decide-whom-dalai-lama-will-reincarnate-003778" target="_blank">This week, Norbu Dondup from the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China said that</a> “<em>no matter what the Dalai Lama says or does, he can’t deny to central government’s right to confirm the new incarnation.”</em></p> <p>Later, during the 50th anniversary of the Chinese takeover of Tibet, <a href="http://time.com/3743742/dalai-lama-china-reincarnation-tibet-buddhism/" target="_blank">Zhu Weiqun of the Chinese government</a> said, “<em>The 14th Dalai Lama hasn’t shown a serious or respectful attitude on this issue. He sometimes says he will reincarnate as a foreigner in a place where he visits, sometimes to a woman. When someone gives him a bottle of honey, he would happily say he is going to become a bee in the next life.”</em></p> <p>Considering that the Chinese government is officially atheist, opposed to Buddhism, and has no traditional connection to the selection of the Dalai Lama, their claim to this right makes absolutely no sense.</p> <p><a href="http://time.com/3743742/dalai-lama-china-reincarnation-tibet-buddhism/" target="_blank">Lobsang Sangay, the Tibetan Prime Minister</a> in exile responded to the announcement by saying “<em>It’s like Fidel Castro saying, ‘I will select the next Pope and all the Catholics should follow. Balloon Girl Reinvented For Banksy Video Showing Solidarity #WithSyria

<p>Since 2011, 83% of lights have gone out in Syria. A movement to turn them back on has gained international support, among them acclaimed artist Banksy</p> <span>[embedded content]</span> <hr /> <p>In February last year, the UN called for an end to attacks on civilians in <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/10-reasons-why-a-diplomatic-solution-to-the-syria-crisis-is-extremely-unlikely/" target="_blank">Syria</a>, and more humanitarian aid for the millions in need. Since then, over 15,000 civilians have been killed, many of them children. Ten million Syrians have been forced to flee their homes. Massive “Superhenge” Site Discovered Buried One Mile Away From Stonehenge

The researchers found roughly 90 large stones using remote sensing and geophysical imaging technology.</p> <p><em>“These latest results have produced tantalizing evidence of what lies beneath the ancient earthworks at Durrington Walls. The presence of what appear to be stones, surrounding the site of one of the largest Neolithic settlements in Europe, adds a whole new chapter to the Stonehenge story,”</em> <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3224523/Stonehenge-II-Radar-search-reveals-giant-monument-4-500-years-ago-just-one-mile-famous-Wiltshire-site.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailUK" target="_blank">N</a><a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3224523/Stonehenge-II-Radar-search-reveals-giant-monument-4-500-years-ago-just-one-mile-famous-Wiltshire-site.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailUK" target="_blank">ick Snashall, National Trust archaeologist for the Avebury and Stonehenge world heritage site said</a>.</p> <p>This could end up being one of the largest sites of its kind all throughout Europe.</p> <p><em>“What we are starting to see is the largest surviving stone monument, preserved underneath a bank, that has ever been discovered in Britain and possibly in Europe,”</em> Bradford University archeologist Vince Gaffney said.</p> <p>Scientists are still baffled about Stonehenge and are equally as perplexed with the new structure, although the prevailing theory is that it is a ritual site of some sort, many alternative researchers disagree.</p> <p>Mainstream researchers say that the site is only a few thousand years old, but researchers like Graham Hancock believe that the site is much older.</p> <p><a href="https://www.facebook.com/Author.GrahamHancock?fref=ts" target="_blank">Speaking to his Facebook page this week,</a> Hancock said:</p> <blockquote readability="14"> <p>“<em>The past is unveiling itself and in the process reveals further clues to a lost civilization. It’s interesting to read the press on the recent discovery of extensive additional buried megaliths in the vicinity of Stonehenge in England. The archaeologists quoted, and the journalists who wrote the reports, all take it for granted that the newly discovered site must be “4500 years old” — i.e. the same date-range that mainstream archaeology likes to ascribe to Stonehenge itself. But the lesson of the giant pillars of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, deliberately buried more than 10,000 years ago and only rediscovered in the 1990’s, is that the origins of megalithic architecture are far older and far more mysterious than we have been taught. German Woman Who Survived WW2 Explains Why She’s Helping Refugees

If you have seen and lived through the horror of war, you wouldn't even need to ask...</p> <span>[embedded content]</span> <hr /> <p>As we recently reported <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/german-people-are-giving-so-much-to-migrants-the-police-had-to-ask-them-to-stop/" target="_blank">here</a>, German citizens have been so welcoming to the refugees fleeing <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/this-child-could-be-your-son-where-is-the-love-and-compassion-in-the-debate-about-europes-refugee-crisis/" target="_blank">Syria</a> that local police had to actually tell them to <strong>stop</strong> bringing more aid. Just four hours after local authorities in Munich first asked people to donate much-needed goods to those arriving in the country, the only items that were still required were sim cards for cellphones. The generosity shown by the German public has been overwhelming, and puts Britain to <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/despicable-british-tourists-complain-of-refugees-ruining-their-holidays-in-greece/" target="_blank">shame</a>.</p> <p>In this very touching Channel 4 video report, a journalist asks an elderly lady in Munich why she is helping asylum seekers. A confused look crosses her face. “<em>Why</em>?” She asks incredulously, before giving an answer that is both simple and heart-wrenching at the same time. Shaking her head at the (stupid) question, she replies: “This is normally” [sic]. “I live here in a very rich country. We don’t have war here.” Then the woman seems to become emotional before saying, “We <em>had</em> war here. The second [world] war. I come from this generation and I know what it means.” At this point she stops talking and looks at the reporter. “I <em>know</em>,” she repeats emphatically.</p> <p>And while there were a minority of Neo-Nazis determined to gatecrash the welcome party, according to a <a href="https://news.vice.com/article/neo-nazis-tried-to-crash-a-welcome-party-for-migrants-and-refugees-in-germany?utm_source=vicenewstwitter" target="_blank">report</a> this week, our sources in Germany say this kind lady’s attitude is by no means the exception.</p> <p>If you have suffered, you cultivate empathy. And while that’s not surprising, it’s a shame that some people are unable to comprehend the horror of war without having to go through it themselves. We all have imaginations, don’t we?</p> <p>Another lady, waiting at a German railway station to hand out teddy bears and candy to Syrian children, had this to say: “I really appreciate how Germany is able to welcome these people. There are some countries like Hungary and Great <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/despicable-british-tourists-complain-of-refugees-ruining-their-holidays-in-greece/" target="_blank">Britain</a> that I don’t quite understand, because this is a crisis concerning all <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/how-to-solve-europes-migrant-crisis-according-to-politicians-lets-attack-their-boats/">Europe</a>, or all the world. And instead of shelf after shelf of boxed items, this supermarket utilizes bulk bins, attractively displayed produce that’s not shrink wrapped or stored in tetra packs, and beverage stations for refillable water bottles.</p> <div readability="32"><a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/this-zero-waste-grocery-store-has-no-packaging-plastic-or-big-name-brands/sds-4/" rel="attachment wp-att-39895"><img alt="sds" class="wp-image-39895" height="487" src="http://cdn9.trueactivist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/sds.jpg" width="730" /></a> <p>Image: original-unverpackt.de</p> </div> <p>It is the brainchild of Sara Wolf and Milena Glimbovski, two Germany-based social impact innovators.
