A new report by the Associated Press claims the Biden administration is considering mandating vaccines for Americans to travel between states.
This idea is being taken into consideration at the same time as America is dealing with record-high numbers of illegal immigrants pouring in through the southern border, many of them bringing Covid.
The AP wrote, “Still, while more severe [Covid] measures — such as mandating vaccines for interstate travel or changing how the federal government reimburses treatment for those who are unvaccinated and become ill with COVID-19 — have been discussed, the administration worried that they would be too polarizing for the moment.”
Saying the administration is worried the policy would be too polarizing “for the moment” suggests they will likely change their mind in the near future.
For now, the White House is satisfied with mandating all federal employees and all military members to get the jab.
The AP article also stated, “But even as Biden becomes more aggressive, he has refrained from using all his powers to pressure Americans to get vaccinated. He’s held off, for instance, on proposals to require vaccinations for all air travelers…”
Democrats have already introduced a bill asking the Secretary of Homeland Security to mandate vaccines for citizens departing from or arriving at airports inside the United States or a territory of the United States, “and for other purposes.”
Thes other purposes will likely be other forms of interstate travel, but the bill has no public text available at the time of writing this article.
Requiring proof of vaccination to travel via airplane, bus, boat or train is one of the Biden administration’s next steps.
After all, the Canadian government announced on Friday new measures requiring all commercial air travelers and passengers on trains and large marine vessels with overnight accommodations (such as cruise ships) to be vaccinated.
Canada’s federal government is now also forcing all public servants to get the vaccine.
“Vaccine requirements in the transportation sector will help protect the safety of employees, their families, passengers, their communities and all Canadians. And more broadly, it will hasten Canada’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,” Canada’s Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc said.
If Americans don’t stand up to government tyranny now, interstate travel will be banned for the unvaccinated and that will only be the beginning!
