Over 200 hundred Islamic terrorists were heading towards the Syrian city of Deir al-Zor, to destroy and to kill, but Russian forces ambushed them and killed them all. As we read in one report:

Russian air force has killed over 200 Islamic State fighters who were on their way to the Syrian city of Deir al-Zor, Defence Ministry of Russia said on Monday.

After being pushed out by Syrian land forces and Russia’s air force from the south of Raqqa province and the west of Homs Province, the terror group is concentrating around Deir al-Zor, the ministry said.

It further said that its air force also destroyed the military equipment of the IS militants but did not mention when the strike took place.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday said although his country had prevented Western designs to topple him but his army could not yet win the fight to end the six-year-old insurgency in Syria.

However, Assad said the assistance extended by allies Russia, Lebanon’s Hezbolla movement and Irania had enabled the Syrian army to make gains in the battlefield and reduce the burden of war.

One after the other, our army is making gains every day in its fight to eliminate terrorists. We will continue the attack until we kill the last terrorist on Syrian land,” said Assad.

Assad further said that Syria welcomed Russian-brokered local ceasefire deals that Moscow is willing to extend elsewhere in Syria as these would help bring an end to the insurgency and also bloodshed and also pardoning of rebels who agree to lay down their arms.

Since July, Russian has placed its military police beside army checkpoints in Eastern Ghouta near Damascus and in southwest Syria to help ensure that the deals it has broked with Syrian rebel groups are in calm.

Talks are going on with local councils and mainstream armed groups to broker a truce in northern Homs countryside enclave which is besieged and where rebels have sought Moscow’s intervention to get humanitarian aid to trapped civilians.
