Iceland has barely 330,000 people in it, but has become world famous for murdering nearly 100% of babies diagnosed with 'genetic defects' such as Down's Syndrome. CBS news recently visited Iceland and wrote a story in which they lauded the nation for nearly 'eradicating genetic defects' by their policy of eugenics according to a recent report:
With the rise of prenatal screening tests across Europe and the United States, the number of babies born with Down syndrome has significantly decreased, but few countries have come as close to eradicating Down syndrome births as Iceland.
Since prenatal screening tests were introduced in Iceland in the early 2000s, the vast majority of women -- close to 100 percent -- who received a positive test for Down syndrome terminated their pregnancy.
While the tests are optional, the government states that all expectant mothers must be informed about availability of screening tests, which reveal the likelihood of a child being born with Down syndrome. Around 80 to 85 percent of pregnant women choose to take the prenatal screening test, according to Landspitali University Hospital in Reykjavik.
"CBSN: On Assignment" headed to Iceland with CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano to investigate what's factoring into the high termination rates.
Using an ultrasound, blood test and the mother's age, the test, called the Combination Test, determines whether the fetus will have a chromosome abnormality, the most common of which results in Down syndrome. Children born with this genetic disorder have distinctive facial issues and a range of developmental issues. Many people born with Down syndrome can live full, healthy lives, with an average lifespan of around 60 years.
Other countries aren't lagging too far behind in Down syndrome termination rates. According to the most recent data available, the United States has an estimated termination rate for Down syndrome of 67 percent (1995-2011); in France it's 77 percent (2015); and Denmark, 98 percent (2015). The law in Iceland permits abortion after 16 weeks if the fetus has a deformity -- and Down syndrome is included in this category.
With a population of around 330,000, Iceland has on average just one or two children born with Down syndrome per year, sometimes after their parents received inaccurate test results. (In the U.S., according to the National Down Syndrome Society, about 6,000 babies with Down syndrome are born each year.)

Olafsdottir responded, "We don't look at abortion as a murder. We look at it as a thing that we ended. We ended a possible life that may have had a huge complication... preventing suffering for the child and for the family. And I think that is more right than seeing it as a murder -- that's so black and white. Life isn't black and white. Life is grey." (source)
This story is not news to us. We covered this at Shoebat.com several months ago. We warned that the state of Iceland today is a look into the future of Western societies, and really is nothing more than a reflection of the past. As the society has turned away from God it has returned to the paganism of the ancient world, and as simply substituted the old forms of barbarity for new ones that are the same in essence but different in form.
Murder is murder no matter who the person is that does the crime. Willful murder of the innocent is a sin equal to that of sodomy according to the Bible, as it is the first of the four sins which “cry out to Heaven for vengeance.” Nothing is more willful murder than the abortion plague which has descended upon the planet since the 20th century, for according to one study there have been nearly a billion children murdered before being born during this same period.
Keep in mind this counts children murdered by known abortions. It does not include children murdered through the use of the contraceptive pill, for contrary to the marketing lies, the birth control pill does not actually prevent conception, but it just prevents the fertilized egg from implanting into the uterus thus causing an abortion by default. If this is counted, it is not unreasonable to say there have been billions of abortions more during this same century.
A victim of Unit 731, Japan's eugenics unit that conducted horrible experiments on people. This is the fruit of eugenics when allowed to blossom to its natural end state.
People wondered where the horrors of the German and Japanese death camps came from, but the answer is right before them. The death camps began by viewing human life as not created in the image and likeness of God and as something expendable to be controlled and treated like a farm animal. Once the Faith was sufficiently removed from society, the entire world collapsed into war since the Faith was the glue that bonded the human race as one.
After World War II there was a period of peace, but the removal of Christianity from society continued as before. It was inevitably only a matter of time before the same causes would again manifest and lead to yet another war, except this time it would be more destructive due to the fact that the same evils would be able to be committed more efficiently over a larger number of people in a shorter time due to technological advancements and making use of the “lessons learned” from the previous war.
The rise of National Socialism today is coming with a renewed push for eugenics, but make no mistake, this is not a “left” or “right” issue because both sides embrace it. As we have constantly emphasized, between the choice of two evils there is no choice, only the way of the Catholic Faith with operates outside of the false paradigm between the political left and the political right. In the end, the enemy is ultimately Christ and His Church because this is a war between good and evil, and it is Christ against all others.
Hitler couldn't be happier.
He's back...
As far as Iceland is concerned, it is ironic that such a small country is so concerned with murdering children who are "unfit" because of "deformities." Iceland has also been at the center of much of the "refugee crisis," and complains about being overrun by "migrants." It is a nation in which the people are proud of being "post Christian" and many regard themselves as "proud heathens."
Life is a gift from God, and it is not man's place to make him the arbiter of life and death. Likewise, the Bible says that He who receives the message of the Gospel receives Christ, and he who rejects the message of the Gospel, it will be better for the city of Sodom than for that man.
If Iceland will not repent and receive Christ once again, she will receive justice. Just as Israel was destroyed repeatedly by her neighbors for her refusal to repent, so may indeed, as Our Lady warned at Fatima about the "disappearance of nations," the same may happen to nations today who reject God and choose to worship themselves.
Foreign invaders, or the justice of God at a society who has rejected God, refuses to repent, and insists on mocking God?
P.S.: America is not exempt from this either. If anything, the horrors of the old world will return to us because we have not only rejected God, but we provided the inspiration for many of the eugenicist movements of the 20th century. As they say, what goes around comes around...
