Social Engineering in TV Commercials

<p><strong>An artist who worked for DC Comics has quit saying that he is “tired of them ruining these characters,” including Superman, after the company <a href="https://summit.news/2021/10/18/dc-comics-announces-superman-will-no-longer-protect-the-american-way/">dropped ‘the American way’</a> from the hero’s famous motto.</strong></p>
<p>Colorist Gabe Eltaeb <a href="https://boundingintocomics.com/2021/10/19/superman-son-of-kal-el-colorist-gabe-eltaeb-to-exit-dc-comics-over-superman-motto-change-im-tired-of-them-ruining-these-characters/">revealed</a> on a recent podcast “I’m finishing out my contract with DC. I’m tired of this sh*t, I’m tired of them ruining these characters; they don’t have a right to do this.”</p>
<p>“What really pissed me off was saying truth, justice, and a better world. F*ck that; it was ‘truth, justice, and the American way,'” Eltaeb further stated.</p>

<p>“My Grandpa almost died in World War II; we don’t have a right to destroy sh*t that people died for to give us. It’s a bunch of f*cking nonsense,” Eltaeb urged.</p>
<p>The artist, who worked on the much maligned “Son of Kal-El” Superman books in which Clark Kent’s son comes out as a bi-sexual social justice warrior, also spoke about the abuse he has been subjected to for his opinion on the comic book characters being ruined.</p>
<p>“They call us bigots and racist and sh*t,” Eltaeb noted, adding “I would ask them, find me in the f*cking mainstream, not on the fringes, one f*cking book, one f*cking t-shirt, one movie that says that leftism is bad, and conservatism is good, find it for me, they f*cking won’t. They’re not letting people have a voice, they’re the f*cking bigots.”</p>
<p>The podcast host Ethan Van Sciver added “You cannot come out and be a conservative and criticize the company that you work for in this way. You have to be completely supportive of the corporate agenda, whatever it is.”</p>
<p>“You have to keep your negative or critical opinions to yourself, and it’s so liberating to be able to not work for DC comics and be able to say exactly what you think,” Sciver emphasised, adding “And I think that’s what Gabe is going through here.”</p>

Spain: A Care Worker’s Dismissal for refusing to have a Covid Injection Is Overturned in Court

<p class="has-text-align-justify"><strong>The Social Court of Bilbao has declared “void” the dismissal of a worker from a care centre for dependent people in Bizkaia for refusing to receive the Covid-19 injection, <em>El Mundo</em> reported on Wednesday, 3 November. The Court referred to the doctrine of the Constitutional Court on invasive medical treatments, rejecting the obligation to subject people to a specific medical treatment.</strong></p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">The plaintiff worked in a care centre with more than 40 employees of which three refused to receive the Covid injection.  One of the three employees who refused to take the injection had a temporary contract that had been renewed up to four times and that, after refusing to be injected, was not renewed.  The second employee ended up being injected and the third, who was the plaintiff in the case, was fired for disciplinary reasons, and appealed her dismissal in the courts.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">The company fired the employee claiming that there had been an incident with one of the dependents treated at the centre but it was a minor incident that did not qualify for or justify a dismissal. The Court concluded that the dismissal for disciplinary reasons was a façade and the true reason for dismissal was to terminate the contract because the employee had not been injected.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">The Court ruling referred to: the doctrine of the Constitutional Court on invasive medical treatments in which it rejects the obligation to subject people to a specific medical treatment; and to a recent ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court, which rejected the obligation to subject nursing home staff to antigen and PCR tests.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">The court ruling indicates, if the worker had been “vaccinated” in order to avoid her dismissal, it would have entailed an injury to her right to physical integrity, since it would have been against her will. Therefore, the judge declared the dismissal void and ordered the company to pay a fine of EUR600 but rejected the care worker’s claim of EUR50,000 compensation, taking into account the social reality of the moment in which the rules have to be applied.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">In Spain, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judiciary_of_Spain">social courts are courts related to labour law</a>.  The Constitutional Court is at the same level as the Supreme Court but it is an independent court which only considers constitutional matters, cases in which it is alleged violation of constitutional rights and disputes between the State and Autonomous Communities.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">In July 2021, the Spanish Constitutional Court ruled the coronavirus lockdown imposed by the Spanish government was unconstitutional.  In August, the Supreme Court upheld the ruling of the High Court of Castilla-La Mancha and denied mandatory Covid tests for nursing home workers.</p>

US Covid-19 Vaccine Mandates Make it Difficult for Student-Athletes to Get College Scholarships

<p><strong>In the United States, student-athletes at public high schools are struggling to get college scholarships due to the Covid-19 vaccine mandates being forced on the masses. <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2021/10/03/schools-athletes-vaccine-requirements-514902" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Politico reported</a> that student-athletes studying in Los Angeles, Washington D.C, New York City, Chicago and other cities with public schools are being affected.</strong></p>
<p>Baltimore is another city where a vaccine mandate had been put in place, according to the <a href="https://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2021/10/08/baltimore-county-public-schools-to-require-high-school-student-athletes-be-vaccinated-against-covid-19-or-face-weekly-testing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Baltimore Sun</a>. High school student-athletes in Baltimore County must provide proof of vaccination by November 24th or face weekly testing to be eligible for their sports.</p>
<p>The Baltimore County Parent and Student Coalition, a group of parents, teachers and other community members advocating for change in the Baltimore County school system, said that the mandate is unfairly targeting athletes.</p>
<p>In a Facebook message, coalition member Amy Adams told the <a href="https://www.westernjournal.com/new-racism-dem-covid-restrictions-bar-black-hispanic-hs-athletes-receiving-college-scholarships/" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.westernjournal.com/new-racism-dem-covid-restrictions-bar-black-hispanic-hs-athletes-receiving-college-scholarships/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Western Journal</a> that requiring athletes to get vaccinated or be tested weekly is discriminatory.</p>
<p>“If it is a true public health concern, why not require all students to get the COVID vaccine or submit to weekly testing?”</p>
<p>She also pointed out that it is not the first time student-athletes in the school district have been unfairly treated during the pandemic, which greatly affected everyday life.</p>
<p>After the sports season was cancelled in autumn 2020, Adams said that the Baltimore County school board voted to allow a modified sports season in the spring. However, the board later reverse course and barred spring sports from taking place. At that point, the coalition started a campaign called <a href="https://www.wmar2news.com/news/local-news/baltimore-county-student-athletes-held-let-us-play-rallies-wednesday-in-opposition-to-recent-bcps-sports-decision" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.wmar2news.com/news/local-news/baltimore-county-student-athletes-held-let-us-play-rallies-wednesday-in-opposition-to-recent-bcps-sports-decision" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">“Let Us Play,”</a> which gained steam on local news stations such as WBAL-TV.</p>
<p>“Being active is important,” Adams said. “Being part of a community and a group is important. There was no data to show that youth sports were negatively impacting case rates around the country when other systems were — some systems were fully functional last year.”</p>
<p>Adams stated that the lack of logic caused her the most concern about the vaccine mandates for student-athletes. “All sports have been running since Aug. 11, and based on the schools’ data dashboard, there have not been big outbreaks,” she said. “Most of the outbreaks honestly are in the elementary level is the way that they’re identifying it.”</p>
<p><strong>She noted that older and more overweight people are at the most risk of serious disease from COVID-19, but these student-athletes are both young and relatively healthy. For those reasons, she thinks getting the vaccine should be a choice rather than a requirement.</strong></p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify"><a href="https://www.bmj.com/about-bmj/editorial-staff/peter-doshi">Dr. Peter Doshi</a>, Editor of the British Medical Journal (“BMJ”), gave his testimony:</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">“I found it fascinating to learn that Merriam Webster changed its definition of ‘vaccine’ earlier this year.  mRNA products did not meet the definition of ‘vaccine’ that has been in place for 15 years at Merriam Webster but the definition was expanded such that mRNA products are now ‘vaccines’.  I highlight this to ask a question.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">“How would you feel about mandating Covid vaccines if we didn’t call them ‘vaccines’?  What if these injections are called drugs instead? </p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">“So, here’s the scenario: we have this ‘drug’ and we have evidence that it doesn’t prevent infection, nor does it stop viral transmission, but the ‘drug’ is understood to reduce your risk of becoming very sick and dying of Covid. Would you take a dose of this ‘drug’ every six months or so for possibly the rest of your life, if that’s what it took for the drug to stay effective?”</p>

<p><strong>The latest figures published by the new UK Health Security Agency on Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths show that the Covid-19 injections still don’t seem to be working.</strong></p>
<p>The <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1031157/Vaccine-surveillance-report-week-44.pdf">‘Covid-19 Vaccine Surveillance Report – Week 44’</a> was published by the UK Health Security Agency (formerly Public Health England) on Thursday, 4th November 2021 and it shows that the vast majority of Covid-19 cases between October 4th and October 31st were among the fully vaccinated population.</p>

<p>The totals number of cases by vaccination status as confirmed by table 2 of the UKHSA Week 44 Vaccine Surveillance report between October 4th and October 31st 2021 were as follows –</p>
<ul>
<li>Not-vaccinated population = 413,112 cases</li>
<li>Partly vaccinated population = 61,288 cases</li>
<li>Fully-vaccinated population = 439,790 cases</li>
</ul>
<p>This means the vaccinated population accounted for 55% of Covid-19 cases between October 4th and October 31st, whilst the not-vaccinated population accounted for 45%. However, if we remove under 18’s from the equation, many of whom aren’t eligible to be vaccinated, the figures are far worse for the vaccinated population.</p>
<p>The totals number of cases by vaccination status in everyone over 18 as confirmed by table 2 of the UKHSA Week 44 Vaccine Surveillance report between October 4th and October 31st 2021 were as follows –</p>
<ul>
<li>Not-vaccinated population = 76,219 cases</li>
<li>Partly vaccinated population = 61,288 cases</li>
<li>Fully-vaccinated population = 439,790 cases</li>
</ul>
<p>This means the over 18 vaccinated population accounted for 86% of Covid-19 cases between October 4th and October 31st, whilst the not-vaccinated population accounted for just 14%.</p>
<p>Unfortunately the lates UKHSA report also shows that the vast majority of Covid-19 hospitalisations were also among the fully vaccinated population between October 4th and October 31st 2021.</p>

<p>The totals number of hospitalisations by vaccination status for all age groups between October 4th and October 31st 2021 as confirmed by table 3 of the UKHSA <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1031157/Vaccine-surveillance-report-week-44.pdf">report</a> were as follows –</p>
<ul>
<li>Not-vaccinated population = 2,806</li>
<li>Partly vaccinated population = 297</li>
<li>Fully vaccinated population = 5,534</li>
</ul>
<p>This means the vaccinated population accounted for 68% of Covid-19 hospitalisations between October 4th and October 31st 2021, whilst the not-vaccinated accounted for just 32%.</p>
<p>But yet again the difference between the vaccinated and unvaccinated gets much worse when it comes to deaths allegedly related to Covid-19.</p>

<p>The totals number of alleged Covid-19 deaths by vaccination status between October 4th and October 31st 2021 as confirmed by table 4 of the UKHSA <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1031157/Vaccine-surveillance-report-week-44.pdf">report</a> were as follows –</p>
<ul>
<li>Not-vaccinated population = 538 deaths</li>
<li>Partly vaccinated population = 85 deaths</li>
<li>Fully vaccinated population = 2447 deaths</li>
</ul>
<p>This means the vaccinated population accounted for 83% of Covid-19 deaths between October 4th and October 31st, whilst the not-vaccinated accounted for just 17%.</p>
<p>Serious questions on the effectiveness of the jabs need to be answered due to the fact Covid-19 hospitalisations and deaths are rising among the fully vaccinated population by the week whilst hospitalisations and deaths among the not-vaccinated population continue to decline.</p>

The big reveals in Eternals’ two post-credits scenes

<p><strong>Spoilers follow for Marvel’s</strong> <em><strong>Eternals.</strong></em></p>
<p>The Eternals, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest superheroes, have arrived with one of the loopiest chapters in MCU history. It includes a creation story featuring all-powerful beings called Celestials, a cosmic adventure, beautifully weird villains called Deviants, themes of colonialism, and our new heroes, who just sort of save Earth all by themselves with no Avengers to be seen.</p>
<p>Speaking of, where were Earth’s Mightiest Heroes? Surely they knew about the cataclysmic event at the center of this film?</p>

<p>The two post-credits scenes attached to the movie have the answer to that and other pressing questions, including who, exactly, the Eternals ticked off when they bucked orders from their commanding Celestial.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.vox.com/22640516/shang-chi-post-credits-scenes-captain-marvel-hulk-eternals">Credits scenes</a> have become a Marvel tradition to either tease new characters or plug future movies, or some combination of the two. The <em>Eternals</em>’ pair follow suit. One introduces a new character who sets up the Eternals’ next quest. The other, well, brings back a beloved character while laying the foundation for the future of the MCU.</p>
<p>At the end of <em>Eternals</em>, the team splits up. Three members — Thena (Angelina Jolie), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), and Druig (Barry Keoghan) — go to space and try to help other planets that may be in danger. Three others — Sersi (Gemma Chan), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), and Phastos (Bryan Tyree Henry) — stay on Earth to continue their terrestrial lives as immortal beings. Sprite (Lia McHugh), the last member of the surviving Eternals, stays on Earth but chooses to become human. Everything seems fine … until it’s not.</p>
<p>The problem is that the Celestial Arishem, who created Earth’s Eternals, is really mad that they foiled his plan of sacrificing Earth to birth another Celestial. Irate with the Eternals who defied him, he takes the three Earth-based Eternals prisoner, vowing that they will face his judgment or some kind of cosmic wrath.</p>
<p>That’s how the film ends.</p>
<p>The credits scene picks up from there, with the space Eternals sensing that something’s gone amiss — and that someone’s teleporting onto their ship. This happens to be <a href="https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Eros_(Earth-616)">Eros</a> (a.k.a. Starfox), played by singer and former One Direction member Harry Styles, along with his sidekick (who appears to be the character Pip the Troll). Eros tells the team that he, too, is an Eternal, and he knows how to help them get their friends back.</p>
<p>The big takeaway from the scene is that Harry Styles is now part of the MCU as Eros, Thanos’s brother. In the comic books, Eros has been imbued with the same kind of cosmic superpowers all Eternals have. He can also control people’s emotions, a power set that can lean slightly problematic depending on how he’s written. It’s not totally clear how Marvel will adapt Eros’s powers in the MCU, as it tweaked some of the Eternals’ abilities when the heroes made the jump to the live-action movie.</p>
<p>Eros’s appearance also sets into motion the beginnings of an <em>Eternals</em> sequel. They’ll need his help to find their friends and defeat someone as powerful as Arishem. But can Eros be trusted?</p>
<p>At the end of the movie, when Arishem snatches Sersi, her boyfriend Dane Whitman (Kit Harrington) is about to tell her a secret. The pesky kidnapping gets in the way, but we do find out the secret in the post-credits scene.</p>
<p>Cut to Dane in a fancy room, looking at a menacing sword. The blade, while solidly metal, is also imbued with a cloudy material that seems responsive to human touch. Just as Dane is about to touch it, a disembodied voice stops him and asks if he’s ready to do that. The voice sure sounds like Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury (although the scene was very brief, and the voice abrupt).</p>
<p>The primary reveal here is that Dane is a potential superhero. In the comic books, Dane becomes the Avenger known as <a href="https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Dane_Whitman_(Earth-616)#Excalibur_and_Avengers">Black Knight</a>, who wields a sword called the <a href="https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Ebony_Blade">Ebony Blade</a>. It’s a magical and mystical sword that can cut through any object, defend its user against magic, absorb souls, and do all kinds of weird stuff. Unfortunately, it also has a curse that makes its wielder prone to bloodshed — hence the sword’s ominous nature.</p>
<p>The voice is also important. For so many Marvel movies’ post-credits, Nick Fury’s presence was tied to recruiting new members. With the departure of Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow, his return seems to indicate that some form of the Avengers is back in action, and/or that Nick Fury is assembling some new potential members of the team — including one Dane Whitman.</p>
