London:
Britain said on Friday it would add Bangladesh, Kenya, Pakistan and the Philippines to its travel "red list", banning entry to people arriving from those countries unless they are British or Irish nationals.
Those who come to Britain from countries on the red list will be refused entry, while returning Britons must submit to 10 days of mandatory quarantine in hotels.
From 4 AM on April 9, Pakistan, Kenya, the Philippines and Bangladesh will be put on the list, the government said, joining about three dozen other nations mainly in Africa, the Middle East and South America.
There have been calls for the inclusion of some European countries where COVID-19 cases have surged, but the government has said it currently has no plans to do so.

Professor Says COVID-19 Will be Like a “Fond Caress” in Comparison to Next Pandemic

A Swedish professor of infectious diseases says COVID-19 will feel like a “fond caress” in comparison to the next global pandemic.
Professor Björn Olsen from Uppsala University warns that there’s another “imminent” pandemic on the way that will totally dwarf the millions of dead caused by coronavirus.
“Then the corona pandemic will be like a fond caress in comparison,” Olsen told national broadcaster <a href="https://www.svt.se/nyheter/inrikes/olsen-om-nasta-pandemi-corona-en-smekning-i-jamforelse">SVT</a>.
Olsen says that the next pandemic will be triggered by a new flu virus against which humanity has no protection.
“A flu is incredibly contagious. If it is a new flu where there is no herd immunity at all, it will be able to spread faster through all different age groups,” said the professor.
Olsen urged people to switch to eating locally sourced meat in order to reduce human exposure to food markets, which represent a “gigantic public health problem.”
“If we try to eat more locally produced, the points of contact for new pandemics will decrease,” said Olsen.
The professor also warned that rapid urbanisation in African countries and the destruction of habitats such as rainforests was crowding humans and animals together, making new viral outbreaks more likely.

GEORGIA: House Republicans Vote to Revoke Delta Airlines Tax Break after They Call Election Integrity Racist

<h4>Georgia House Republicans voted to strip Delta Airlines of a fuel tax break worth millions, following a memo from their CEO slamming the state’s election integrity efforts as racist.</h4>
Last week, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/georgia-voting-restrictions/2021/03/25/91009e72-8da1-11eb-9423-04079921c915_story.html">signed into law sweeping new election integrity reforms,</a> including requiring new identification measures for mail-in voting, blocking the use of mobile voting vans, restricts the use of drop boxes for absentee ballots, and allows electors to challenge the results of an unlimited number of ballots, and strips the authority of the Secretary of State, reducing him to a nonvoting member of the State Election Board.
However, the move for tougher reforms was lambasted by a number of corporations who reside in Georgia, including Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola. In a memo, Delta’s CEO Ed Bastian<a href="https://twitter.com/davidshepardson/status/1377261165991096321"> slammed the election integrity bill</a> as “unacceptable,” that it doesn’t “reflect Delta’s values,” and claiming that the bill “includes provisions that will make it harder for many underrepresented voters, particularly Black voters, to exercise their constitutional right to elect their representatives.”
Bastian noted that Delta and other major corporations had been “working closely with elected officials from both parties to try and remove some of the most suppressive tactics” in the bill, and would continue to exert their influence, doing “everything in their power” to “expand voting rights nationwide,” both at the state level and in Congress.
He claimed that the “entire rational” for the bill was “based on a lie: that there was widespread voter fraud in Georgia in the 2020 elections,” saying that this is “simply not true” and is just being used as an excuse “in states across the nation that are attempting to pass similar legislation to restrict voting rights.” National File reported on various strong allegations of voter fraud in Georgia during the 2020 elections,<a href="https://nationalfile.com/georgia-audio-ruby-freeman-shaye-moss-reportedly-caught-discussing-voter-fraud-get-me-some-results/"> including audio that purportedly shows</a> Georgia vote counter Ruby Freeman is seen with her daughter and supervisor Shaye Moss, discussing potential vote stealing with Fulton County Registration Chief Ralph Jones Sr.

As a result of the condemnation by Delta, Republicans in the Georgia House struck back against Delta. Led by House Speaker David Ralston, they overwhelmingly voted to end a “lucrative tax break on jet fuel” for the airline late Wednesday evening. “They like our public policy when we’re doing things that benefit them,” Ralston said. “You don’t feed a dog that bites your hand. You got to keep that in mind sometimes.” However, the Senate refused to hear the vote, disappointing many.
Ralston purposely drank from a can of Pepsi in front of the press after the end of the legislative session on Thursday, “something that many lifelong Georgians would never do publicly” according to the <a href="https://archive.is/k43JX">Atlanta Journal,</a> so prominent is Coca-Cola in the lives of many in the state. The move was seen as a potential warning shot to Coca-Cola.
The move has received praise from a number of America First commentators. “The Right must begin to understand that using your political power can get you the results you want in this culture war,” <a href="https://t.me/witzkeforDE/1140">said Lauren Witzke</a>, the former Republican Senate candidate for Delaware. “The Democrats use and abuse theirs, and it’s time we do the same. We have the majority in most state Legislatures.” Scott Greer, the highly respected Daily Caller alum, slammed the criticism of the move by Republicans as an “evil power play,” but simply “basic politics.”

Senator Marco Rubio also slammed Delta as being “woke corporate hypocrites,” pointing out that they are “business partners” with the Chinese Communist Party. “When can we expect your letter saying that their ongoing genocide in Xinjiang is ‘unacceptable and does not match Delta’s values?’” Others further highlighted Delta’s hypocrisy, including pointing out that Delta requires ID to fly, <a href="https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/04/delta-airlines-ceo-blasts-unacceptable-georgia-voter-law-forgets-delta-requires-photo-fly-planes/">but condemned the election integrity bill that requires it to vote.</a>

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations (AMO) agents and the U.S. Border Patrol’s Arizona Air Coordination Center coordinate to rescue an injured migrant the [sic] Baboquivari Mountains.
On the afternoon of March 30, the AMO Tucson Air Branch received a call from the Arizona Air Coordination Center requesting a hoist capable UH-60 Black Hawk for a migrant with a possible broken leg at over 6,000 feet in elevation. Once on the scene, the Black Hawk crew spotted a signal fire that the man had started and lowered an AMO Aviation Enforcement Agent Emergency Medical Technician to the mountains below. The agent performed an assessment of the situation on the ground and stabilized the man for hoist up to the hovering helicopter. Back in the helicopter, the AMO and USBP EMTs stabilized the man and the Black Hawk crew transported the man to the Three Points fire department for further treatment.
“Frequently, smugglers will send migrants across the border in small groups to overwhelm CBP resources in the area,” said Deputy Director, Tucson Air Branch, Hunter Robinson. “Unfortunately, these routes can be extremely treacherous and this individual was very fortunate he survived and we could use AMO resources to get him to safety.”

They didn’t mention what ended up happening with the forest fire he started.

The U.K. reported 25 new cases of rare blood clots possibly linked to AstraZeneca Plc's Covid-19 vaccine, adding to the numbers that have caused some European countries to adopt precautionary measures.
The fresh reports lift the total number of cases to 30 as of March 24, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency said in a statement Thursday. The benefits of the shot continue to outweigh the risks, the regulator said.
AstraZeneca's vaccine, developed with the University of Oxford, is under mounting scrutiny and has faced dwindling support in Europe. Still, countries are counting on the shot to help them exit the pandemic, and millions of doses have been administered across the region.
The U.K. agency said that the 30 incidents were out of 18.1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine given by March 24. Prior to that, the agency disclosed five cases on March 18, out of 11 million shots.
With the new reports, the rate of incidents with the AstraZeneca shot in the U.K. is about 1 in 600,000. There were no reports of the same reactions to the vaccine from Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE, which is also being used in Britain.
"On the basis of this ongoing review, the benefits of the vaccines against Covid-19 continue to outweigh any risks and you should continue to get your vaccine when invited to do so," the MHRA said. The AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines have shown "very high levels of protection" against Covid-19, the agency said, adding that "all vaccines and medicines have some side effects."
U.K. Program
The U.K. has one of the world's fastest-moving vaccine programs, administering shots to more than half of all adults by late March. New daily Covid cases and deaths have fallen to the lowest levels since September, even as infections surge anew across much of the European Union, where immunizations have lagged.
Earlier this week, the EU drugs regulator said a link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and a rare type of blood clot is possible, identifying at least 62 cases of the condition. The European Medicines Agency said its safety committee will probably issue an updated recommendation next week.
Germany has restricted younger people from taking the AstraZeneca vaccine amid growing concerns about side effects. That followed reports of 31 cases of the rare clots, mostly in women.
Norway and Denmark extended suspensions on the use of the shot, which has also been the subject of a tussle over supplies between the EU, the U.K., and others.
On Friday, Australia reported one case of clotting disorders following inoculation with the AstraZeneca vaccine and is investigating, according to a joint statement by government agencies.
