Russian Cats Get Cancelled

An international cat federation has banned all Russian-owned and bred cats from competing in international competitions, in a move that’s sure to stop Putin’s attack on Ukraine.
No, this isn’t a Babylon Bee story.
The Fédération Internationale Féline (FIFe) issued a statement saying it “cannot just witness these atrocities and do nothing.”
The federation has decided that “no cat bred in Russia may be imported and registered in any FIFe pedigree book outside of Russia. … No cat belonging to exhibitors living in Russia may be entered at any FIFe show outside Russia.”
The ban will apply until at least the end of May and will punish popular breeds such as the Russian Blue, Peterbald and the Siberian cat, which can cost up to $4,000 dollars.

The story attracted condemnation from Chinese users of Weibo, with one asserting, “Animals should not have nationalities.”

Following a massive backlash, a university in the UK has walked back advice to staff to start using made up pronouns, termed ‘neopronouns’, as well as ’emojiself’ terms for people who identify by using emojis and even ‘catgender’ terms for people who choose to identify as cats.
Yes, really. Bristol University in England really did this.
The <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/02/06/male-female-feline-bristol-university-guide-lectures-staff-neopronouns/" target="_blank">London Telegraph</a> reported that the university provided staff guidance on how to properly use pronouns, and included links to totally insane material aimed at people who want to be cats.

The cat people even have their own flag, according to the material the university pointed to on <a href="https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/LGBTQIA%2B_Wiki">LGBTA Wiki</a>.

The ‘neopronouns’ go beyond the usual ‘they/them’ woke stuff and into the territory of made up words such as xe/xem/xyr, ze/hir/hirs, and ey/em/eir.
Because for those people, actual words that exist are too restrictive and not reflective enough of their identities.
The pronouns for cat people are apparently “nya” or “nyan,” which is Japanese for “meow.”
The university also linked to material outlining how for some people the use of letters and even made up words is too restrictive. Those people like to identify by using emojis. They refer to their ’emojiself’ to reflect their gender.

<a href="https://www.newsweek.com/no-college-did-not-say-students-can-identify-feline-1677227">Newsweek reported</a> that the university removed the links to the material after sane people complained it was fucking nuts.
The University issued a statement clarifying, but claiming that it is misinformation to suggest that the material was ever official guidance.

Trump Accuses J6 ‘UnSelect Committee’ of Attempting to Sabotage Potential Re-Election Bid

As Nancy Pelosi’s Select Committee claims they’ve zeroed in on evidence of Donald Trump’s crimes on January 6, the former President is accusing Democrats of trying to derail a possible re-election bid.
In a statement from his Save America PAC Thursday, Trump blamed Democrats for rigging the 2020 election and its subsequent cover up.
“The actual conspiracy to defraud the United States was the Democrats rigging the Election, and the Fake News Media and the Unselect Committee covering it up,” the statement reads.
Trump went on to highlight a recent <a href="https://legis.wisconsin.gov/assembly/22/brandtjen/media/1552/osc-second-interim-report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">report</a> showing extensive evidence of lawbreaking by election officials in Wisconsin, which Wisconsin Special Counsel Michael Gableman <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.infowars.com/posts/video-wisconsin-special-counsel-calls-for-decertification-of-wisconsin-2020-election-results/" target="_blank">said</a> should prompt the state to decertify its 2020 election results.
“Few things could be more fraudulent, or met with more irregularities, than the Presidential Election of 2020. They refuse to cover the facts, such as just this week the special counsel for Wisconsin called for the decertification of the 2020 Election because of massive illegality, including election bribery, and the preying on the elderly for votes, which resulted in fraud of ’95-100 percent turnout,’ an impossibility, in at least 91 nursing homes.”
The former president also called attention to other swing states where election rigging is being exposed.
“In Arizona, 204,430 mail-in ballots had mismatched signatures that were never sent to review, and 740,000 mail-in ballots had broken chain of custody, all far more necessary than the votes needed, 10,457, for ‘President Trump to win,'” Trump wrote. “In Georgia, over 240 ballot harvesters have been identified in an illegal operation spanning multiple swing states, all caught on video.”
Trump went on to bash the “Unselect” Committee as “politically partisan hacks,” and said Democrats knew “The reason for January 6th was that million of people in our Country know the Election was Rigged and Stolen,” not to mention the fact “Nancy Pelosi refused to put the 10,000 troops in the Capitol three days earlier, as strongly recommended by me.”

The Committee’s main goal, Trump said, “is to try to prevent President Trump, who is leading by large margins in every poll, from running again for president, if I so choose.”
“By so doing they are destroying democracy as we know it. Their lies and Marxist tactics against political opponents will not stop the truth, or the biggest political movement, Make America Great Again/America First, in the history of our country.”
The former president blamed the corrupt election for being the catalyst that triggered record inflation, the bungled Afghanistan withdrawal, an economic recession and possible war with Russia.
“All because of a corrupt Election result.”

RT America To Shut Down Production & Fire Most Staff

CNN reports the outlet Russia Today America will be ceasing all productions and firing the majority of its employees “as a result of unforeseen business interruption events.”
T&R Productions, the production company behind the Russian-funded network, said the layoffs and office closures in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC will be permanent.
After learning of the sudden dismissals on Thursday, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/03/media/rt-america-layoffs/index.html" target="_blank">an employee told CNN</a> “A lot of people were shocked. A lot of people were crying.”
The decision came after companies like DirecTV and Roku dropped RT from their programming in response to the Russian war with Ukraine.
Both Google and Apple also banned RT and Sputnik News from their app stores while most American social media sites have limited the sharing capabilities and ad revenue of Russian state media.
Even Africa’s largest subscription television provider dropped RT.

Before the announcement, some RT hosts <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/dennis-miller-abandons-his-show-on-rt-the-kremlin-funded-network?ref=scroll" target="_blank">like comedian Dennis Miller</a> and others already decided to part ways with the network.

Radical leftists caused havoc during a lecture Wednesday at the University of North Texas, shutting down a speech by a distraught father who lost custody of his son over transgender issues.
In footage of the incident in Denton, where the Young Conservatives of Texas hosted an event for House candidate Jeff Younger, far-leftists can be seen disrupting the lecture by pounding on desks and shouting, “Fuck these fascists!” and, “Protect trans kids!”

After the lecture was shut down, footage outside the event shows leftists continuing to berate and physically assault the Young Conservatives, as police attempted to evacuate the group to safety.
“The evacuation didn’t work and [Young Conservative member Kelly Neidert] was hidden in a janitor’s closet in a nearby building until it was safe to leave,” the group tweeted.

Powerful Simulations May Solve the Dark Energy Mystery

A huge amount of mysterious dark energy is necessary to explain cosmological phenomena, such as the accelerated expansion of the Universe, with Einstein’s theory.
But what if dark energy was just an illusion and general relativity itself had to be modified? A new SISSA study, published in Physical Review Letters, offers a new approach to answer this question. Thanks to huge computational and mathematical effort, scientists produced the first simulation ever of merging binary neutron stars in theories beyond general relativity that reproduce a dark- energy like behavior on cosmological scales. This allows the comparison of Einstein’s theory and modified versions of it, and, with sufficiently accurate data, may solve the dark energy mystery.
For about 100 years now, general relativity has been very successful at describing gravity on a variety of regimes, passing all experimental tests on Earth and the solar system. However, to explain cosmological observations such as the observed accelerated expansion of the Universe, we need to introduce dark components, such as dark matter and dark energy, which still remain a mystery.
Enrico Barausse, astrophysicist at SISSA (Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati) and principal investigator of the ERC grant GRAMS (GRavity from Astrophysical to Microscopic Scales) questions whether dark energy is real or, instead, it may be interpreted as a breakdown of our understanding of gravity. “The existence of dark energy could be just an illusion,” he says, “the accelerated expansion of the Universe might be caused by some yet unknown modifications of general relativity, a sort of ‘dark gravity’.”
The merger of neutron stars offers a unique situation to test this hypothesis because gravity around them is pushed to the extreme. “Neutron stars are the densest stars that exist, typically only 10 kilometers in radius, but with a mass between one or two times the mass of our Sun,” explains the scientist. “This makes gravity and the spacetime around them extreme, allowing for abundant production of gravitational waves when two of them collide. We can use the data acquired during such events to study the workings of gravity and test Einstein’s theory in a new window.”
In this study, published in Physical Review Letters, SISSA scientists in collaboration with physicists from Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma de Mallorca, produced the first simulation of merging binary neutron stars in theories of modified gravity relevant for cosmology: “This type of simulations is extremely challenging,” clarifies Miguel Bezares, first author of the paper, “because of the highly non-linear nature of the problem. It requires a huge computational effort -months of run in supercomputers — that was made possible also by the agreement between SISSA and CINECA consortium as well as novel mathematical formulations that we developed. These represented major roadblocks for many years till our first simulation.”
Thanks to these simulations, researchers are finally able to compare general relativity and modified gravity. “Surprisingly, we found that the ‘dark gravity’ hypothesis is equally good as general relativity at explaining the data acquired by the LIGO and Virgo interferometers during past binary neutron star collisions. Indeed, the differences between the two theories in these systems are quite subtle, but they may be detectable by next-generation gravitational interferometers, such as the Einstein telescope in Europe and Cosmic Explorer in USA. This opens the exciting possibility of using gravitational waves to discriminate between dark energy and ‘dark gravity’,” Barausse concludes.
