The White House and congressional Democrats are reeling from Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-W.V.) Sunday announcement that he would not vote for Joe Biden’s $5 trillion Build Back Better bill.
The Biden administration was reportedly “blindsided” by Manchin’s announcement, and WH press secretary Jen Psaki released a statement slamming the West Virginia senator for reneging on a deal with Biden.

Brisbane:
Two adults and two children died after a light plane crashed off the coast of the Australian city of Brisbane, police said Sunday.
Queensland state police said the four were killed when the small aircraft crashed in shallow waters near Redcliffe, a bayside suburb in the city's north, just after 9:00am local time.
The bodies of the 69-year-old pilot and three passengers -- an adult male and two children -- were later recovered by police divers. The passengers are yet to be identified.
Police inspector Craig White described it as a "tragic accident" in the lead-up to Christmas.
"This is the last thing that any family need to go through this time of the year," he said.
Local media images showed the four-seater plane upside down in the water.
Early reports indicated it crashed shortly after take-off, authorities said, but a full investigation had been ordered to determine the cause.
The Air Transport Safety Bureau said additional investigators would be sent from the national capital Canberra to assist in the probe.
Queensland police commissioner Katarina Carroll earlier told local media the initial response had encountered challenging conditions.
"The plane is in a very, very difficult situation, (a) difficult position in the wetland area," she said.
Authorities said it could take some time to retrieve the wreckage from the crash site.

India on Sunday pitched for finding ways to help the Afghan people, while reaffirming the need for an inclusive government in Kabul.
In his opening remarks at the third India-Central Asia Dialogue, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that there is a need to ensure unhindered humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
The dialogue, hosted by India in Delhi, is being attended by foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
"We all share deep rooted historical and civilisational ties with Afghanistan. Our concerns and objectives in that country are similar," Mr Jaishankar said.
He listed a truly inclusive and representative government, the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking, ensuring unhindered humanitarian assistance and preserving the rights of women, children and minorities as key priorities in Afghanistan.
"We must find ways of helping the people of Afghanistan," he said.
Mr Jaishankar said India is committed to take its ties with the Central Asia to the next level.
He floated a 'four C' approach focusing on commerce, capacity enhancement, connectivity and contacts to further expand the cooperation between the two sides.
"Our meeting today comes amid a rapidly changing global economic and political situation. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted an enormous setback to global health and to global economy," Mr Jaishankar said.
"It has changed the way we imagined societies, supply chains and governance. It also highlighted the inadequacies of multilateral structures to meet new and emerging threats," he said.
The external affairs minister underlined the need for having diversified supply chains and more regional solutions to various challenges.
"India will be your steadfast partner," he said.
In the last few years, India has been focusing on expanding overall cooperation with the energy-rich Central Asian countries, considering them to be part of its extended neighbourhood.
The upswing in India's engagement with the region followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's whirlwind tour of the five countries in July 2015 that resulted in the expansion of two-way ties in a range of areas.
The recent developments in Afghanistan reinforced the importance of the Central Asian countries with three of them -- Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan -- sharing borders with the war-torn nation.
The national security advisors of all the five Central Asian countries attended an India-hosted regional dialogue on Afghanistan on November 10. NSAs of Russia and Iran also participated in it.
The second meeting of the India-Central Asia dialogue was organised by India in October last year in digital video-conference format.

Retired Generals Demand Pentagon ‘Take Steps’ to Stop ‘Insurrection’ After 2024 Election

Three retired generals called on the military to “take steps” to avoid a “civil war” caused by a possible “insurrection” following the 2024 presidential election.
In an <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/12/17/eaton-taguba-anderson-generals-military/" target="_blank">op-ed</a> published by The Washington Post on Friday, former Army Major Gen. Paul Eaton, former Brigadier Gen. Steven Anderson and former Army Major Gen. Antonio Taguba said the Pentagon must prepare for “another insurrection” after the 2024 election.
“With the country still as divided as ever, we must take steps to prepare for the worst,” they wrote. “The potential for a total breakdown of the chain of command along partisan lines -from the top of the chain to squad level – is significant should another insurrection occur.”

“The idea of rogue units organizing among themselves to support the ‘rightful’ commander in chief cannot be dismissed,” they continued, adding “it is not outlandish to say a military breakdown could lead to civil war.”
Pushing the <a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2021/10/21/ag-garland-debunks-democrat-insurrection-claims-about-january-6th-n2597813" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">debunked “insurrection” narrative</a> related to January 6, the generals described several measure to root out soldiers still loyal to Trump or otherwise questioning Joe Biden’s leadership.
“First, everything must be done to prevent another insurrection. Not a single leader who inspired it has been held to account. Our elected officials and those who enforce the law — including the Justice Department, the House select committee and the whole of Congress — must show more urgency,” they wrote.
“The Pentagon should immediately order a civics review for all members — uniformed and civilian — on the Constitution and electoral integrity,” the trio said. “There must also be a review of the laws of war and how to identify and deal with illegal orders. And it must reinforce ‘unity of command’ to make perfectly clear to every member of the Defense Department whom they answer to. No service member should say they didn’t understand whom to take orders from during a worst-case scenario.”

Additionally, they wrote, “all military branches must undertake more intensive intelligence work at all installations. The goal should be to identify, isolate and remove potential mutineers; guard against efforts by propagandists who use misinformation to subvert the chain of command; and understand how that and other misinformation spreads across the ranks after it is introduced by propagandists.”
“Finally, the Defense Department should war-game the next potential post-election insurrection or coup attempt to identify weak spots. It must then conduct a top-down debrief of its findings and begin putting in place safeguards to prevent breakdowns not just in the military, but also in any agency that works hand in hand with the military,” the three retired generals added.
Citing the “disturbing number” of soldiers who support Trump and were present at the January 6 Capitol protest, the generals claimed “some might follow orders from the rightful commander in chief, while others might follow the Trumpian loser,” suggesting Trump himself may not even be the Republican candidate.
Why the generals hinting a Republican loss in 2024 is a forgone conclusion is unclear given Biden’s abysmal poll numbers and Democrats’ bleak 2022 midterm outlook.
The op-ed is also revealing when you consider Big Tech and corporate America’s role in subverting the will of the people in the 2020 presidential election, which was laid out in a TIME magazine article titled, “<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://time.com/5936036/secret-2020-election-campaign/" target="_blank">The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election</a>.”
Where’s the military campaign to prevent another actual coup d’état like that?

Given the events of the rigged 2020 election and beyond – such as the military occupation of the Capitol for months – it’s clear that the Deep State is preparing to neutralize political resistance should the 2024 election be stolen as well via universal mail-in voting and other Democrat initiatives.
