Federal Judge Rules Norwegian Cruise Line Can Require Vaccine Passports In Florida

<p><strong>On Sunday, a federal judge sided with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.’s lawsuit challenging Florida’s vaccine passports ban, per a <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/norwegian-cruise-line-holdings-ltd-233800189.html">statement</a> from the company. </strong></p>
<p>U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams granted Norwegian’s request for a preliminary injunction in a 60-page ruling that blocks Florida’s ban for businesses to require customers or guests proof of vaccination before entry. </p>

<p>“Amid myriad, rapidly-changing requirements regarding quarantining and testing, there is one constant that facilitates cruise line customers’ access to advertised ports of call: documentary proof of vaccination will expedite passengers’ entry into virtually every single country and port where Plaintiffs intend to sail,” Williams wrote.</p>

<p>She said vaccine passports would allow the cruise line to “operate in the safest way possible with 100% vaccination of all guests and crew when sailing from Florida ports,” adding the decision was reached because Florida had failed to “provide a valid evidentiary, factual, or legal predicate” for the ban.</p>
<p>Williams also noted, “scientific research shows that cruise lines are hotbeds for COVID-19 transmission,” and the cruise operator “has demonstrated that public health will be jeopardized if it is required to suspend its vaccination requirement.”</p>
<p>The ruling comes less than a week before Norwegian Gem vessel will depart Miami – the first vessel in its fleet to sail from the port area since the pandemic halted the cruise industry last year. </p>
<p>Williams’ decision is a blow for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/gov-ron-desantis-opposes-vaccine-passports-florida">consistently</a> fought against government-mandated masks, health passports, and other vaccine restrictions. </p>
<p>Norwegian said it looked forward to sailing on Aug. 15. “This order will now allow the Company to operate in the safest way possible with 100% vaccination of all guests and crew when sailing from Florida ports,” it said.</p>

Two-Thirds of Americans Will Continue to Mask Up If They Are Sick – Poll

<p><strong>Over 60% of Americans say they will continue masking up if they feel sick, even post-Covid 19 pandemic, and over 40% say they will don face coverings in crowded spaces going forward, according to a new poll.</strong></p>
<p>While renewed mask mandates and updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have received heavy pushback from critics, a poll conducted by the Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University has found that many want to continue relying on masks, even in a post-pandemic world.</p>
<p>According to the poll, released on Sunday, 67% of Americans plan on utilizing masks in public if they feel sick. At the start of the pandemic in the spring of last year, the CDC’s original guidance on masks was to only wear one if you are feeling coronavirus symptoms. They have since pulled back their mask guidance for vaccinated Americans, and subsequently updated that guidance to say masks are required, even for the vaccinated, in what they deem to be high-risk areas. </p>
<p>Over 30% of respondents said they would mask up if they are sick once the country is through the pandemic. Over 50% also said they would not wear face coverings in crowded areas, something health officials have at times recommended, especially for indoor settings, due to the increase in cases around the country and the spread of the delta variant. </p>
<p>Over 40%, however, say they will wear masks in <em>“crowded places”</em> even after the pandemic. </p>
<p>Republicans have mainly led the charge against reinstated mask mandates, though the Post polling appears to show a fair share of support for masks on both sides of the political aisle, with more than half of Republicans saying they will mask up if they are sick, while 80% of Democrats said the same. </p>
<p>The differences between political affiliations showed more in questioning about whether respondents’ lives had <em>“returned to normal”</em> yet, with numerous states and venues rolling back restrictions and opening for business once more. </p>
<p>Only 15% of self-described Democrats said their lives had <em>“fully returned to normal,”</em> compared to 48% of Republicans. Over 40% of Democrats believe their lives will completely move on from the pandemic in the next year, while 20% believe only another three months are needed. Republicans are more likely, according to the survey, to have attended a crowded indoor gathering in the new year than Democrats, many of whom remain fearful of lagging vaccination rates and variants. </p>

<p>The Post poll was conducted among 1,000 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4%. </p>
<p>Health officials have spent the past weeks promoting vaccinations and warning of a likely surge of coronavirus cases in the fall. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, warned just this week that he believes coronavirus cases could reach 200,000 a day. </p>
<p>The US has a seven-day moving average of approximately 90,000 new cases this week, according to Johns Hopkins University data, which is over 30% higher than the previous seven-day average. </p>

Italian Police Raid Homes of Telegram Users Selling Fake COVID Passes

<p><strong>Italian police on Monday raided homes and properties of the administrators of 32 Telegram channels selling fake COVID-19 passes.</strong></p>
<p>The operations were carried out in Rome, Milan and Bari, according to Il Messaggero newspaper.</p>
<p>All 32 channels have been blocked, with minors being among the perpetrators.</p>
<p>The perpetrators offered fake vaccination certificates, promising doctors’ help in issuing the document.</p>
<p>In early July, Italy’s financial guard closed 10 illegal Telegram channels selling vaccines against COVID-19 and inoculation certificates.</p>
<p>The government’s decision to introduce the use of certificates for visiting bars, restaurants and attending mass events since August 6 triggered a new spike in the sale of illegal certificates.</p>

McDonald’s Facing Shortage of Paper Food Bags

<p><strong>The latest supply chain challenge to hit McDonald’s Corp. is the lack of paper bags for food orders.</strong></p>
<p>The chain told restaurant owners to limit their bag orders from suppliers as usage is above seasonal trends, according to an internal message from the fast-food company, seen by <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/mcdonalds-pushes-diners-to-use-trays-as-food-bags-run-tight-11628343262">The Wall Street Journal</a>. </p>
<p>McDonald’s said customers who dine inside are demanding Big Macs, McNuggets, and fries be served in bags rather than trays which have compounded the tightness of the paper bag supplies.</p>
<p>“Many new crew members have never had to deal with trays before,” the internal memo stated. The “transition to using trays has been slower, more difficult because we haven’t done it in so long.”</p>
<p>McDonald’s is confident bag supplies will not transform into a shortage:</p>

<p>“We are confident customers should not see disruption,” the company said. “We will continue to watch closely.”</p>

<p>The fast-food chain has also been dealt with other scarce items, and costs continue to rise. Prices at its restaurants are up about 6% from last year as it struggles with labor and food inflation pressures. </p>
<p>McDonald’s is not the only fast-food restaurant dealing with supply chain problems. </p>

Iceland is experiencing its largest Covid-19 wave to date despite nearly 100% of all adults being vaccinated

<p><strong>If you’re looking for even more evidence that the experimental Covid-19 injections on offer are ineffective then you need not look any further than Iceland. Because the country is experiencing its largest wave of Covid-19 infections despite close to 100% of adults being vaccinated.</strong></p>
<p>According to <span><a href="https://www.covid.is/statistical-information-on-vaccination">Iceland’s vaccination data</a></span>, as of the 6th August 2021 a total of 477,205 doses have been administered in Iceland and 275,173 people have received at least one dose whilst 255,322 of those people are fully vaccinated. The total population of Iceland is 356,991 according to 2019 figures which means as of the 6th August 77% of the entire population had been vaccinated.</p>

<p>However adults make up just 264,299 of the Icelandic population meaning more people have been vaccinated than there are adults in the country. The reason for this is that Iceland have started to vaccinated children aged between 12 and 15.</p>

<p>The number of vaccine doses administered per day in Iceland peaked around the 1st July 2021 after beginning to pick up pace around the 20th April 2021. Over 50% of the doses administered were the Pfizer / BioNTech mRNA injection, with both the AstraZeneca viral vector jab and Johnson & Johnson viral vector jab making up around 45% of the doses administered. The remaining 5% of doses administered have been the Moderna mRNA injection.</p>

<p>However around 2 weeks after the vast majority of Iceland had been double vaccinated something unexpected, or expected depending on which side of the fence you are on, occurred. A huge wave of Covid-19 infections spread across the country. A wave so large that it is almost twice as large as the two previous alleged waves of Covid-19 to have struck Iceland.</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://www.covid.is/data" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Iceland’s Covid-19 dat</a><span><a href="https://www.covid.is/data" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">a</a>,</span> as of the 6th August 2021 there are over 400 infections per 100,000 inhabitants over a 14 day incidence. The first alleged wave peaked at around 250 infections per 100,000, and the second alleged wave peaked at just under 300 infections per 100,000.</p>

<p>The number of confirmed infections rose significantly on the 19th July 2021 and has been generally rising since this date, whereas the Covid-19 vaccination programme began the number of infections in Iceland had virtually flatlined.</p>

<p>What does this tell us? Well there are several possibilities. It could be that the Covid-19 vaccines simply do not work, or it could be that the Covid-19 vaccines actually worsen the spread of Covid-19.</p>
<p>However, we can guarantee you that neither of these reasons will be used by the authorities to explain this unexpected turn of events. They will instead blame the people that have not been vaccinated and will use this fabricated excuse to justify administering an experimental gene therapy to children under the age of 12.</p>
