Epic: Congressman Chip Roy Rages on House Floor Over “Absurd” New Mask Mandate

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) gave an impassioned rant against new face mask rules being imposed at the US Capitol in Washington DC.
On Wednesday, Capitol physician Dr. Brian Monahan advised bringing back the mask requirement following Tuesday’s announcement by the CDC that both unvaccinated and vaccinated Americans need to wear face masks.

Rep. Roy was trying to call attention to the dire situation at the southern US border, where Covid-infected illegals are pouring in unchecked, when he segued to the new mask rules.
“We have a crisis at our border and we are playing footsie with mask mandates in the people’s house,” Roy stated.
“It’s absolutely absurd what this body is doing, the people’s house. It’s an embarrassment. A mockery.
“The American people are fed up. They want to go back to life. They want to go back to bills. They want to go back to school without their children being forced to wear masks. To have mental health issues.
“We are running around here, the Speaker comes down here at 10:00 in the morning saying we have to wear masks in the people’s house?
“We have thousands of people pouring across our border and democrats don’t do anything about it, heavily infected with Covid.

“We have ‘The New York Times’ today, what a mess. ‘C.D.C. About to Reverse on Indoor Masking for the Vaccinated,’ quote-unquote. This is some serious stuff that will only breed resentment. No kidding. Consider resentment being magnified right here on the floor of the House of Representatives. We are absolutely sick and tired of it. So are the American people.
“This sham of an institution is doing nothing for the American people. Nothing for the betterment of the people that send their representatives here.
“I just met this morning with an organization that tries to take care of people from human trafficking. Met with an elected official from Mexico. While cartels are raping and pillaging and killing. We have people infected with Covid coming through our southern border into Texas and you-all put masks up, masks up front here, here on the people’s house? We have to go around and say, ok, we can’t come to the floor, I can’t execute my constitutional duty unless I wear a mask.
Roy then asked the obvious question: if the vaccines work, why do people need to wear masks?
“Which is it? Vaccines or masks? Do the vaccines work or not? Do the masks work or don’t work? I’d like to know which it is. I’d like Dr. Fauci to come down and answer a single question about natural immunity. You have been infected with the virus, do you have immunity? Or are they going to go around poking people saying you must take a vaccine? ‘Sorry, the vaccine doesn’t work, you must wear a mask.’ This institution is a sham. We should adjourn and shut this place.”
On Thursday, Capitol Police issued a <a href="https://www.infowars.com/posts/rep-massie-challenges-pelosi-after-threat-to-arrest-non-maskers-arrest-my-entire-staff-we-are-not-wearing-masks/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">bulletin</a> notifying officers to arrest non-mask wearing visitors and staffers who refuse to wear a mask.

Economist Warns: It’s Game Over If Markets Call Fed’s Bluff

The Federal Reserve insists inflation is “transitory” and the economy is making “progress.”
Yet, it continues with the extraordinary monetary policy it launched at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, we’re seeing all kinds of data hinting that the economy may not be as great as advertised.
Despite this, and even as prices continue to spiral higher, the Fed’s only monetary policy is talk. Peter breaks it all down on his podcast and drills down to the key question: what happens if the markets call the Fed’s bluff?

The <a href="https://schiffgold.com/commentaries/a-whole-lot-of-talk-no-action-at-the-latest-fed-meeting/">July Federal Reserve meeting</a> took center stage this week, but there was a lot of economic data that got lost in the shuffle. Peter said the data “really evidences the stagflationary environment that we’re in.”
On Wednesday, the <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/u-s-trade-deficit-in-goods-climbs-3-5-in-june-and-hits-another-record-high-11627476155" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">trade deficit in goods data</a> came out. It exceeded the high end of estimates and set another record high, rising 3.5% to $91.2 billion. Peter said he doesn’t think this record will last long.

“These records are going to fall like dominoes. And this is not happening because we have a strong economy. It’s happening because we have a weak economy.”

A lot of mainstream pundits keep looking at these numbers as if they somehow reflect strength because Americans are buying so much stuff. But as Peter pointed out, the strength of an economy isn’t measured by what you buy but by what you produce.

“Strong economies produce more. They don’t simply consume more. We are consuming more despite the fact that our economy is weak. How are we doing that? Well, the Fed is printing money and we are spending it. But that does not constitute strength. That really evidences profound weakness.”

Recklessly spending money created out of thin air does not create economic strength. The only reason these numbers look good is because of Fed magic via monetary policy.

“The Fed is really not as clueless as people think when it comes to inflation. They’re not missing the inflation problem. I think they understand that there’s an inflation problem. They also understand that they would create an even bigger problem, from their perspective, if they tried to do anything about it, which is why they’re not, which is why they are pretending that the situation is transitory.”

The mainstream understands that inflation is worse than the Fed claims. But it doesn’t understand why the Fed isn’t doing anything about it because they don’t understand the Fed can’t do anything about it without collapsing the economy.

“They don’t understand that we have a bubble. It is the biggest bubble in history. And even the tiniest little pin would prick it, which is why the Fed does not want to supply that pin.”

Most people in the mainstream think the Fed did the right thing by expanding monetary policy in response to the pandemic. (It didn’t.) But they don’t understand why the Fed is continuing that policy now, given that we’re in a recovery. They’re sitting around scratching their heads wondering why the Fed doesn’t go ahead and tighten things back up.

“They don’t understand that we haven’t recovered. We’ve just become addicted to the stimulus. The stimulus is a monetary heroin. And not only can’t the fed withdraw the drug; the Fed has to continue to supply the habit with greater and greater quantities of the drug.”

Over the last two months, exports have remained flat while imports exploded. Peter said this is like a company hemorrhaging red ink. How can the US finance these massive deficits? Because foreigners are willing to trade stuff for financial assets. But how much longer can this continue?
June durable goods data also came out on Wednesday. It was also a big miss on the downside and the number is trending lower. Meanwhile, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/us-new-home-sales-fall-sharply-june-2021-07-26/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">new homes sales collapsed in June</a> for the third consecutive month, hitting a 14-month low. Why are home sales slowing? Because prices are rising so fast. Even with mortgage interest rates at record low levels, people are being priced out of the market. Peter said he doesn’t think the rise in home prices is anywhere close to ending because the cost of construction continues to rise. At some point, construction will likely slow and that will have an impact on employment.
Rent is a big component of CPI. According to government calculations, rents have remained relatively low. But <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/shock-rents-rising-three-times-as-fast-as-official-inflation-figures-11627397608?reflink=mw_share_twitter" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">MarketWatch analysis</a> shows that actual rents are up 25% year-over-year. That is 10 times the level the government is using to calculate CPI.

“Imagine what the CPI would be right now if you replaced the government number with a 25% private-sector number from Realtor.com. You would be looking, I think, at a year-over-year inflation rate, right now, at 13%.”

Meanwhile, the Fed continues to insist inflation is “transitory” and everything is fine.
Peter goes on to break down the Fed meeting and Jerome Powell’s post-meeting press conference. He notes that it’s all talk and the Fed is basically bluffing. The real question is what happens if markets call that bluff? And there are signs that may be happening.

Four GOP lawmakers were accused of “trespassing” at a Washington DC prison when they tried to check on the conditions of January 6th defendants being held there.
Security guards at the DC Department of Corrections told the congressional members they could not enter the facility and locked them out of the building entirely.
Footage posted by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz shows an attorney was even barred from seeing his client inside the federal prison.
Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) can be heard saying, “They don’t want us to know what’s happening inside.”

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert explained that he and his colleagues are cleared for top secret information and they often inspect facilities, but that things are different under the Biden administration.
The elected officials explained that they’ve received reports of poor treatment in the facility and simply wanted to inspect the conditions for themselves.
One prisoner published <a href="https://www.infowars.com/posts/political-prisoners-letter-exposes-disgraceful-treatment-of-jan-6th-defendants/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">a letter complaining about poor treatment</a> in the facility and another claimed in an interview that <a href="https://rumble.com/vk12ll-political-prisoner-michael-curzio-exposes-conditions-capitol-rioters-experi.html" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">detainees who refuse the COVID jab are being denied basic sanitary rights</a>.

“These are the same types of questions we ask when we go to the detention centers at the border where they house illegals that come into our country,” MTG told an OAN reporter.
After being told that a facility supervisor was outside, the congress members and media left the facility and were locked out of the building.
“It was apparently a bait and switch. We are here just to talk to a supervisor and when the supervisor came out and we came out to have that discussion, they literally ran behind us and locked the doors, ” Rep. Gaetz said.
What is going on inside the prison that would make the employees rush to block members of Congress from entering?
Whatever they were trying to hide will likely be covered up before any investigation takes place.

Following the encounter at the DC detention facility, the four elected officials gave a press conference to inform the press that they were blocked from entering.
“They will not allow any oversight of whatever abuses they’re involved in,” Rep. Gohmert said.
Rep. Greene told reporters the Biden administration has a two-tiered justice system where they treat Trump supporters like terrorists and let BLM and Antifa rioters off with little to no charges.

Lockdown Advocate Now Says Official COVID Infection Rates are “Fishy” Because They’re Dropping

Lockdown advocates who have repeatedly cited rising infection rates as a reason to maintain restrictions are now saying that those same figures are “fishy,” “suspicious,” and unreliable after they started to drop.
Who are the ‘conspiracy theorists’ now?
Reported COVID cases in the UK have <a href="https://dailysceptic.org/2021/07/29/reported-covid-cases-down-by-more-than-a-fifth-on-last-thursday-in-u-k/">dropped</a> by 22% since Thursday last week and cases are falling in every English local authority.
Up until Wednesday, official day to day statistics showed that cases had dropped for seven days in a row, despite restrictions largely being lifted on July 19th.
The fact that the Euro football championships, ‘freedom day’ and the delta variant haven’t combined to create an explosion of new COVID cases seems to have disappointed lockdown advocates like Professor Tim Spector.
According to Spector, who previously called for mask mandates to remain indefinitely, the “sudden drop” in people testing positive for the virus in the government’s data is “very suspicious”.
“It’s dropped something like 30% in two days, which is pretty much unheard of in pandemics, and remember this is happening without restrictions, without lockdowns, without some sudden event,” <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-uks-daily-coronavirus-data-looks-a-bit-fishy-as-major-symptom-study-suggests-cases-on-the-rise-12366866">said</a> Spector.
“To me, it looks a bit fishy. It looks as if there’s some other explanation for this other than suddenly the virus has given up,” he added.

Spector’s rhetoric is particularly funny given that the media has previously demonized anyone who questions official government statistics on COVID infection rates and death tolls as dangerous conspiracy theorists.
Now that the numbers appear to be disproving the argument for lockdown, suddenly those numbers are “suspicious” and unreliable.
As we previously <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/26/government-adviser-who-warned-of-200000-covid-cases-a-day-faces-scrutiny-after-dramatic-fall-in-uk-infections/">highlighted</a>, Professor Neil Ferguson, the epidemiologist who predicted there would be as many as 200,000 COVID cases a day by this point, was also proven spectacularly wrong yet again.
This also speaks to the fact that lockdown advocates who have built up significant acclaim and media exposure over the last 16 months are seemingly upset that the pandemic might be coming to an end.
Irate Twitter mobs who have repeatedly demanded harsher lockdowns also seem to be genuinely upset when COVID infection rates and death tolls begin to drop.
While all the time grandstanding as “kind” and “compassionate” as they screech at you for “killing granny.”

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie (R) threw down the gauntlet over the re-imposition of mask rules Thursday, challenging Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to arrest his staff, who aren’t about to put on face masks.
Responding to the new tyrannical edict announced in a Capitol Police bulletin Thursday, which subjects non-mask wearing visitors and staffers who refuse to wear a mask to arrest, Rep. Massie argued they might as well go to his office and arrest his unmasked staff.
“This is INSANE,” Massie wrote on Twitter.

On Thursday, Pelosi’s goons inside the US Capitol Police announced visitors and staff who visit the Capitol grounds without a face mask and who refuse to wear one after being asked are subject to arrest.
“If a visitor or staff member fails to wear a mask after a request is made to do so, the visitor or staff shall be denied entry to the House Office Buildings or House-side of the U.S. Capitol,” the bulletin, posted to social media by Rep. Kat Cammack, states.

Anyone working for Google or Facebook will be mandated to take the COVID vaccine, in a move that will affect tens of thousands of people in more than 40 countries.
Google <a href="https://www.sacbee.com/news/article253091913.html">announced the decision</a> along with a delay until October for employees returning to offices.
The company said that the policy will initially be put into place at Google’s California headquarters and other U.S. offices, before being imposed on its global locations with the policy being “adjusted” to meet the laws of different countries.
“Anyone coming to work on our campuses will need to be vaccinated,” chief executive Sundar Pichai noted in a <a href="https://www.blog.google/inside-google/company-announcements/vaccines-and-our-return-to-office-plans">blog post</a>.
“Even as the virus continues to surge in many parts of the world, it’s encouraging to see very high vaccination rates for our Google community in areas where vaccines are widely available,” Pichai added.
Google’s announcement was quickly <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2021/07/28/facebook-will-require-employees-to-be-vaccinated-before-returning-to-campus/">followed by Facebook</a>, with vice president of people Lori Goler telling reporters “We will be requiring anyone coming to work at any of our US campuses to be vaccinated.”
<a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/16/senator-hawley-big-tech-acting-like-arms-of-the-government-its-scary-stuff/">Facebook</a> and <a href="https://summit.news/2020/10/15/youtube-bans-any-videos-that-question-vaccine-agenda/">Google</a> have worked arm in arm with the Biden administration, as well as the World Health organisation to indiscriminately push the vaccines and censor material on their platforms that doesn’t fall into line with that narrative, so it is hardly surprising that the two companies are mandating vaccines for their employees.
The move by Google and Facebook comes after first <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/06/kentucky-rep-introduces-bill-to-stop-mandatory-vaccines-for-military/">active military</a> were told they would be mandated to have vaccines, followed by moves to <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/biden-ask-federal-workers-thursday-get-vaccinated-or-face-testing-source-2021-07-29/">mandate all federal workers to take the shots</a>.
Reuters reports that those who resist will “face regular testing, social distancing, mask requirements and travel limits.”
Speaking with the Associated Press, Brian Kropp, chief of research for Gartner’s human resources practice said “Google is seen as being such a different kind of company that I think it’s going to take one or two more big employers to do something similar in terms of becoming a game changer.”
While <a href="https://summit.news/2021/02/03/united-airlines-ceo-mandatory-vaccines-will-become-what-most-companies-do/">some</a> other companies, particularly airlines, have indicated they will make vaccines mandatory for employees, and others <a href="https://summit.news/2021/06/23/morgan-stanley-bans-unvaccinated-from-ny-office/">have said</a> it will be mandatory for employees to disclose their vaccination status, <a href="https://summit.news/2020/12/03/companies-in-u-s-unlikely-to-make-covid-vaccine-mandatory-condition-of-employment/">research has previously indicated</a> that most will not.
This may now change, however, with Big Tech leading the push.
CNN resident ‘expert’ Dr. Leana Wen, a public health professor at George Washington University, commented on the moves by Google and Facebook “This is the stuff that needs to be done, because otherwise we are endangering workers and their families.”
“It is not fair to parents to be expected to come back to work and sit shoulder-to-shoulder with unvaccinated people who could be carrying a potentially deadly virus.” Wen added.
Wen has <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/23/cnn-segregate-unvaccinated-make-them-pay-for-tests-every-day/">previously called for</a> vaccine passports and forever masking, as well as making life as difficult as possible for those who are still opting not to take the vaccines.
