Greek Ex-Finance Minister: Media Is Guilty Of “Terrorism”, Elite Think Democracy Is Irrelevant

It’s been a crazy few days for <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/decentralized-currencies-thriving-in-greece-during-euro-crisis/" target="_blank">Greece</a>, with the people’s decision to reject further bailouts and austerity measures making history last Sunday (full story <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/cause-for-celebration-greece-just-told-the-bankers-to-stick-their-loans-and-austerity/" target="_blank">here</a>). The hero of the hour is <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/greece-what-you-are-not-being-told-by-the-media/" target="_blank">Greece</a>‘s ex-finance minister Yanis Yanoufakis, who was forced to resign after winning the referendum result he had been fighting for these past few months. His reason? Shady, un-named international creditors refuse to negotiate with <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/economic-collapse-in-greece-is-finally-sinking-into-the-consciousness-of-its-citizens/" target="_blank">Greek</a> Prime Minister Tsipras further unless Yanoufakis leaves the party. With his radical suggestions of debt re-structuring and his rejection of the idea that the poorest in society should pay a private debt, Yanoufakis was a thorn in the side of the establishment. 
In this RT video clip from a press conference last month, Yanoufakis shows why the people respect him so much. When verbally attacked by a <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/in-germany-elder-residents-deliver-your-vegetables-on-bicycles/" target="_blank">German</a> politician who accuses him of being irresponsible for refusing more bailout cash (to pay back old bailout cash, and so on until infinity), Yanoufakis calmly, patiently and intelligently tells the man why he is absolutely wrong about everything. 
THIS is why no country’s citizens should accept bailout money without seriously considering the consequences. Yanoufakis, an economist, manages to explain the reality in a simple and persuasive way. He uses the German politician’s own logic against him and finishes with an emotional call to unite Europe and find a sustainable solution for the future: 
“We are Europeans, we should have an alliance based on logic: looking after your taxpayers, looking after my taxpayers. I want [the economy] to grow faster so as to be able to repay you, and that is a project that we should sit down and agree on together if you want your taxpayers to be paid. We are a proud people; we do not like having debts that we don’t repay. But we simply cant find the 312 billion euros that we owe. Help us grow so that we can repay. This is what a union is.” 
The audience at the press conference applaud loudly, and Yanoufakis finishes with a bright idea for Europe which until now is nothing more than a crazy left-wing pipe dream. But it makes sense. “You have this magnificent industry,” Yanoufakis tells the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/germany-scraps-tuition-fees/" target="_blank">German</a> minister. “And you should be proud of that. <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/youll-find-no-plastic-or-packaging-at-this-zero-waste-grocery-store/" target="_blank">Germany</a> is always going to have a surplus [of trade]. Your surpluses could fund investment projects in Greece in <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/watch-italians-try-american-snacks-for-the-first-time-and-arent-impressed/" target="_blank">Italy</a> or wherever, from which the Germans benefit, which are sustainable, and don’t create bubbles which then burst creating problems for your taxpayers, my taxpayers and the whole of Europe. We are a union of social values. we should be in this together.” 
There is very little to argue with there. This clip is a great one to share with people who just don’t get the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/greece-what-you-are-not-being-told-by-the-media/" target="_blank">Greek</a> government’s position: it’s not about running away from their debts, it’s about dealing with the debt in a way that causes the least amount of suffering and the optimum economic growth for the country. Like other maverick economists Paul <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/06/opinion/paul-krugman-ending-greeces-bleeding.html?_r=0" target="_blank">Krugman</a> and Joseph <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/the-end-of-poverty/" target="_blank">Stiglitz</a>, Yanoufakis’s economic policies make perfect sense- unlike those of the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/banks-global-elite-confirmed-to-hold-32-trillion-in-offshore-accounts/" target="_blank">crooks</a> and robbers running our global <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/greek-prime-minister-says-imf-has-criminal-responsibility-for-countrys-debt-crisis/" target="_blank">financial</a> <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/gab_gallery/the-world-bank-imf-and-intelligence-agencies-serve-big-corporations/" target="_blank">institutions</a>.

The US government has run up trillions of dollars in debt, and given the recent debates over the country’s debt ceiling, we can rest assured that neither Congress or the President will act to curtail spending and balance the budget.
We will continue adding trillions of dollars to the national debt clock until such time that our creditors no longer lend us money.

This is a good motto to live by, despite how you think about things.
Individuals can still hope for the best (that things can and will eventually work out), but what good is your prosperity going to do if you don’t have anything to eat or a safe place to hang out for an extended period of time?

Having a plan and being determined to act on that plan will always be the best way to handle any contingencies, should they occur.
After disaster strikes, your mind is going to be racing around like a car on a race track. Preplanning and having a written set of measures to take will make someone’s life go much smoother when the SHTF.

United Airlines resumes flights after ground-stop due to computer problem, officials say

NBC News is reporting that United is beginning to restore service to their flights, which were grounded nationwide- flights are beginning to resume, but delays are still expected.
According to the website FlightAware an estimated  260 flights were delayed and 7 flights were canceled.
United told reporters it would re-book flights for affected passengers without charge.
Passengers are reporting that many flights are delayed by 2 hours or more; one passenger. who was headed to New Orleans told reporters his flight, which was scheduled for noon, won’t depart until around 9 P.M. (EST) tonight.
Those who booked a flight for today through United should <a href="http://ift.tt/1JLRbz2">contact</a>  United Airlines to see if there are any delays and <a href="http://ift.tt/1rZpwBz">check their site f</a>or updates before heading to the airport
The Federal Aviation Administration had announced earlier that United Airlines had grounded all flights nationwide in the U.S. due to a glitch in their computer booking and reservation system.
United, in a statement released soon afterwards confirmed this, saying: “”We experienced a network connectivity issue this morning [and] We are working to resolve this and apologize to our customers for any inconvenience.”
At the time NBC News was reporting that anyone without a hard copy of their boarding pass was unable to check in.
It seems many passes were being checked- in by hand when the problem occurred (see pic below from Twitter).
Travelers in New York, Florida, Washington, D.C., Albuquerque, New Mexico and Connecticut fliers were complaining about long lines and wait times when the news broke.
United’s regional flights were briefly affected by this grounding- they are now back up and running.

Bill Murray Stays After Grateful Dead Show To Help Stadium Clean Up Trash

 The shows have been attended by thousands, including a number of celebrities. Sadly, like most concerts or large events, there was a massive pile of trash to clean up afterwards. 
 As the fans moved on back to their homes after the concert, actor Bill Murray stuck around to help the clean up crew get rid of all the trash. 
 The show took place at Chicago’s Soldier Field, where 70,000 fans gathered to witness the last Grateful Dead show ever, and <a _blank="" href="http://ift.tt/1Tmigym;%20target=">Page Six reported</a> that Murray was the last fan standing, volunteering to help clean up the mess left behind by other attendees. 
 Katy Perry, John Mayer, “Game of Thrones” writer George R.R. Martin, David Axelrod, Sen. Al Franken, Bill Walton, Perry Farrell and Chloë Sevigny were also in attendance, but it was not reported that any of them stuck around to help with the clean up. 
  Sadly, if everyone would just pick up after themselves, this type of volunteering would not be needed, but Murray has set a great example of how real hippies should carry themselves.</article>
