The rise of Islam throughout the world also come the return of Islam's barbaric practices. Once nearly wiped out even in many Muslim lands, practices such as mass slavery are making a public comeback that has not been seen since ancient times.
In a story out of Bahrain, police are prosecuting a "housemaid recruitment agency" after it published an ad in a news paper offering a 'free African housemaid' as a 'prize' for a contest, which as is understood universally to mean 'slave,' since the majority of these 'housemaids' are overworked, underpaid, sexually abused, and have no legal recourse absolutely whatsoever no different than a slave of the past but in a modern context, changing only the euphemisms but keeping the same sordid reality:
Bahrainis expressed their anger after an ad had been published in newspapers calling to participate in a contest that would be organized during the month of Ramadan with an “Ethiopian housemaid” as the prize.
The contest had only one condition: the winner must have a work permit for the housemaid.
The entity that put out the ad was a housemaid recruitment agency.
Authorities acted immediately to penalize the agency and suspended its license until the result of an investigation is out.
Authorities have also filed a case of human trafficking against the agency’s owner and management
While it is good the authorities stopped this, the very fact that somebody would offer a 'free African housemaid' as a 'prize' speaks to the return of slavery. Indeed, slavery was and is and always will be a part of Islam because it is based on the idea that non-Muslims are not made in the image of Allah, and so their humanity is conditional upon their belief in and practice of Islam.
The rise of Islam in a society cannot be separated from these barbaric practices, and as such to support Islam is to facilitate these same practices rising once again as they did in the past.
A homemade video in the case this year of an African maid begging for help before falling to her death from a window as her "caretaker" filmed her die. This is the new slavery, no different than in the past but with a modern face and tools.
