Two major stories have recently come to the front of the news. First, is that Russia is moving nuclear ready weapons into the Russian controlled but historically German territory of Kaliningrad:

Russia has deployed nuclear-capable Iskander missiles in its western-most region, Kaliningrad, which borders on Nato members Poland and Lithuania.

Poland said the development was of the "highest concern", adding it was monitoring the situation.

Russia's defence ministry said the new deployment was part of military exercises and had happened before.

The US and Nato have seen disagreements with Russia intensify in recent times, particularly over Syria and Ukraine.

This is a MAJOR step towards World War III because Kaliningrad- or more properly, Konigsberg- is still today a point of contention between Russia and Germany, and can only be understood through the lens of history.

Symbol of the Teutonic Knights from the 14th century

Kaliningrad's history begins with the Crusades. While most of the wars that constitute the Crusader period were fought against the Muslims in the Holy Land and to a less mentioned but equally significant extent in Spain and Portugal, there was another series of crusades that began around the year 1200 called the Northern Crusades at the hands of the (then) Catholic military order called the Order of St. Mary in Jerusalem, known Teutonic Knights, which was founded in the Holy Land in 1190.

Baltic Tribes prior to the arrival of the Teutonic Knights. These peoples were the last and most obstinate in Europe to accept Christianity, and they fought violent wars for centuries against the Church.

Christianity came to Europe shortly after Jesus' death, but it did not fully penetrate into all of the continent until the 14th century. The nations of northern Europe and specifically, the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania were not only the last peoples to embrace the Faith, but they were for many centuries violently opposed to all forms of Christianity. At the time, Poland had already been fighting with the Baltic peoples for several centuries and to no avail. As such, it turned to its German neighbor and asked for the help of the Teutonic Knights to conquer and convert these pagan tribes.

A map of Hanseatic League possessions circa 1400. Note how it occupies the coastal areas of all of Poland, the Baltic nations andeve parts of Sweden. Pay particular attention to the orange-brown area called "Preussen," and notice how dark the area is. This is the territory of Konigsberg that was destroyed and completely resettled by Germans. It is truly a historically German province in the middle of northeastern Europe.

The Teutonic Knights came to Poland's assistance, and the long-term consequences of their presence was mixed and eventually came to be despised by the Slavic people. The Teutonic Knights were asked to help specifically with these wars against the Baltic pagans alone- their invitation was not meant to be permanent, but that is not what happened. The Germans arrived and did not leave, and not only that, but these same Germans began to assert they had a right to all of Poland's coastal lands on the North and Baltic Seas, and they formed a union of merchants to assert economic and political control over the area called the Hanseatic League. Based in the northern German city of Luebeck, this act effectively cut off Poland from any coastal commerce with its immediate Nordic, Baltic, and Russian neighbors without going through German merchant and middlemen and became part of a long, angry, and difficult point of disagreement between the German and Polish peoples. As Germany's power grew in the Baltic areas, they used this influence to start making unsuccessful military incursions into Russia and as far north as Finland. Like Poland, Russia was not pleased with the imperial attitude prevalent with these German merchants.

While the Germans brought a lot of problems with them to this area, it would be wrong to say they were completely terrible, and they did much good. Most importantly, it was on account of the Germans that the Baltic pagans were eventually conquered and converted to the Faith and the wars of religion against the Church ceased. The Germans, being the industrious and mechanically-inclined people they are, also built up this entire coastal area from Luebeck to Talinn. However, since the area was quasi-autonomous under the jurisdiction of the Teutonic Knights, they made their capitol at the old pagan fort of Twangste, which they named "King's City" in honor of Bohemian King Ottokar II who aided their efforts against the pagans. In German, the name was Konigsberg- the modern city of Kaliningrad.

Understand clearly that prior to the arrival of the Germans, that small area between what is today Poland, Belarus, and Lithuania was inhabited by Pagan peoples called the Old Prussians. There was no Christianity there, and the area was only conquered and converted thanks to the aid of the Germans. While the other Baltic peoples- the Estonians, Latvians, and Lithuanians- survived, the Old Prussians were completely destroyed. It was Germans who not only built that small area into a thriving center of commerce and life, but it was they who literally repopulated the area because the natives were destroyed. While it is true that the Germans did unrighteously molest many of the Baltic and Slavic peoples, that claim is not entirely so with Konigsberg, for Konigsberg was for the unquestioned majority of its history a German province in Eastern Europe so much that its neighbors also recognized this as such in spite of their complaints against other actions taken by Germany.

Mihail Kalinin, friend and ally of Stalin after whom Konigsberg was renamed

Konigsberg is called Kaliningrad today and is a part of Russia because Russia took it from Germany after World War II and renamed it after Stalin's good friend and political ally Mihail Kalinin. They attempted to destroy most of the prior German presence in the city but could not. Kaliningrad is unique in Russia, for it is both a city (город) and administrative region (область), and like when it was a German possession, it is the only part of Russia that is not physically connected to the Russian mainland.

Kaliningrad is an unspoken but contested area between Germany and Russia because it is by its history and identity up until World War II a proper German territory that was annihilated by the Russian communists and is still held by Russia today, and for the most part Russia yesterday and today has allowed Kaliningrad to fall from being a once beautiful and highly developed area into a dump filled with disease and misery:

Sweden's former prime minister Goran Person once described Kaliningrad this way: “It is heavily polluted. There are illnesses there like AIDS and tuberculosis. There is atomic waste. You find almost every imaginable problem in Kaliningrad.”

...

Nothing exemplifies the blight of Kaliningrad more than the House of Soviets. Built in 1960 to be the administrative center of the state, this strange, futurist behemoth has still never been occupied due to structural problems. It dominates the drab city center, a looming icon of Kaliningrad.

Kaliningrad’s current state of decay is all the more depressing given its rich past. Konigsberg was a gorgeous city, which, had it remained intact, would have rivaled nearby UNESCO heritage cities like Gdansk, Riga, and Tallinn. Today, Kaliningrad is little more than a spreading mass of gray apartment blocks.

...

Public drinking is a popular pastime in Russia, and though it’s far from Russia “proper,” Kaliningrad is no exception. Drunks are a common sight in the city center, especially in the abandoned lots behind the city’s main hotel, the Gostinitsa Kaliningrad. I watched this old guy repeatedly attempt to try to stand up.

Kaliningrad is full of empty, decrepit spaces where drunks and feral dogs make their home. Out on Leininsky Propsect, the main street in town, old women beg or try to sell the saplings of pussy willow trees for a few rubles.

...

Back in the city, I had an espresso with Yuri, a former Soviet security officer turned businessman, in the shadow of the House of Soviets. He pointed to it, “We wanted to turn it into a brothel. The 'whorehouse of Soviets' has a nice ring to it. But it isn’t fit for anything. Such a pity. What can I say, this is Russia.” (source)

Americans have a very short historical memory, but people in the "old world" not as much. Kaliningrad is still Konigsberg to the German nationalist mind, and as Russia is properly upset about America's recent and hegemonic involvement in Ukraine, Germany is still, albeit silently, highly displeased about watching their ancient city go to Russian hands and then in those same hands turn into a veritable third-world nation.

As we have noted, Germany is as much an imperial power as it was in ages past and in modern times seeks to revive its old ways. However, the danger with Germany is that in ages past when the Church played an important role in German life, it was a buffer between the imperial, warlike nature of the German people and their neighbors. While it did not stop war and atrocities many times, the Church buffered the impact and prevented the wholesale massacre of entire peoples in the name of empire. This was one of the largest and most negative effects of the Protestant Revolution, since by removing the Church from its role as the Second Estate in German society and creating a "church" that would be subject to the rule of the state, whatever government was in power could act as it pleased without the Church there to obstruct unjust actions, and instead the "church" would be reduced to little more than a puppet's voice for the government's plans, supporting the ends and justifying whatever means were used from the pulpit on Sunday.

The effect of destroying the Church's power in Germanic lands was felt almost immediately through the ensuing theological and political chaos that overtook Central Europe, culminating in the destruction of the old order and the dawn of Europe and truly, the Germanic people's decline with the Thirty Years War a century after the Revolution. German became a strange nation, professing Lutheranism externally yet internally through her people being a secular, agnostic nation with no regard for the sacred. However, Germany's inclinations to power and empire were just as strong as their ancestors who fought against, defeated, and eventually destroyed the Roman Empire during antiquity. By abandoning the Faith which protected them from the ambitions of their own inclinations, Germany turned to warring with itself and later, against its Slavic neighbors who it believed were inferior during Medieval times as much as it did today but now with the license to treat them as they willed. In the minds of many "Protestant" Germans, the "religiously and ethnically inferior" Catholic (with Orthodox too) and Slavic peoples became targets for systematic conquest, enslavement, and eventually extermination. The Polish nation understands this best, since because they are between Germany and Russia, they were often times the fighting ground and, proverbially speaking, the unwilling lamb that these two wolves would fight over for a meal.

We have discussed how World War II was the continuation of a very old pattern in Germanic history of conquest and empire, but this time the religion was no longer the Catholic Faith or even any form of Christianity, but the neo-pagan religion of the National Socialists presented as the "religion" of the Germanic people. The "Third Reich" was a pagan attempt at empire by a Germanic people who gave up on the Faith which saved and renewed them and ultimately resulted in their destruction.

This same pattern is repeating itself again, and we believe and we are the first online to argue that the current "crisis" with Muslim immigration to Germany is a systematic attempt to revive the Third Reich into a new Fourth Reich with the same goals as its predecessor- to conquer Europe under one socialist, Germanic Empire and destroy all opposition and "inferior peoples," particularly the Slavic races. As we argue, Germany understands well the disposition of its people, and these Muslims are actually sacrificial pieces in a geopolitical chess game. By bringing people into Germany who cannot ever mix with German society and allowing them to cause chaos, it will eventually cause a massive backlash from the German people.

These Muslims may enjoy the massive welfare benefits and immunity from prosecution for the most heinous of crimes, but this is intentional, for when the German people finally turn on them, they will massacre anybody who so much looks like a Muslim and will do it with glee. Having declared war on the Muslims and without the Faith to guide them in matters of right and wrong, the people will look back to the days of Hitler and long for them. They will choose war, genocide, and socialism in the name of restoring their national pride that had been completely stripped from them, they will ally with their historical allies in the Turk and the Japanese, and they will attack Russia and attempt to take over the Slavic nations as well as any "historically German" territory. This includes the entire Polish coastline, the Baltic nations, and most importantly, their historical territory Konigsberg now under Russian control and called Kaliningrad.

Russia has lived next door to and fought with and against Germany for centuries. She knows just as we have stated here the nature of the German people, and that is why the decision to place what are essentially nuclear weapons in Kaliningrad is so significant. Kaliningrad has always been a strategic military point, but this act by Russia is a proverbial "warning shot" without actually firing a shot. It is a warning to Germany and by our support of Germany, the USA to stop our involvement in European affairs and stop with this plan to use the permitted Islamic invasion of Europe as a pretext for a larger war into which Russia will be inevitably pulled into.

In May 2016, I did an article about an interview with the former Commander of NATO in which he said specifically that World War III would begin in May 2017 over a conflict between Germany and Russia regarding the Baltic nations:

A startling claim that the west is on course for war with Russia has been delivered by the former deputy commander of Nato, the former British general Sir Alexander Richard Shirreff.

In a book published on Wednesday, 2017 War With Russia, Shirreff argues that the events in Crimea have destroyed the post-cold-war settlement and set the stage for conflict, beginning next year.

In a chilling scenario, he predicts that Russia, in order to escape what it believes to be encirclement by Nato, will seize territory in eastern Ukraine, open up a land corridor to Crimea and invade the Baltic states.

Shirreff, who was deputy supreme allied commander Europe from 2011 to 2014 and before that served in Northern Ireland, Iraq and the Balkans, is risking his reputation by making such a bold prediction. But he claims his narrative is closely modelled on his Nato experience of war-gaming future conflicts.

His scenario is specific, naming Latvia as the first of the Baltic countries to be invaded, in May next year. Such specifics open him to potential ridicule. (source)

Coincidence? You be the judge. Personally, the timeline is very significant for prophetic reasons regarding the 100th year anniversary of the Fatima apparitions (that I have written about extensively here) as they specifically concern Russia as well as the fact that we are seven months away from May 2017. However, what really got my attention was how at the nearly same time that Russia made this decision was when lightning struck the top of St. Peter's Basilica on the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary:

Rome shook this morning as a massive lightning bolt hit the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. The strike came on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, a celebration with origins not only in a humble prayer, but also in an historic battle.

The bolt hit the dome of St. Peter’s at approximately 9:20 am, as a strong rainstorm passed through Rome. Vatican police confirmed the strike. No damage was reported.

Those close to the Vatican, from Swiss guards to local shop owners, felt the shock.

“I was in the shower and heard what sounded like a loud thunder clap which lasted a few seconds and seemed to shake everything. I knew it was storming but it sounded more like an earthquake than a thunderstorm,” a resident close to St. Peter’s told Aleteia.

A local Italian coffee-bar owner added: “Everything shook. I could feel it in my lungs. It was as though the air was suspended for a moment.” (source)

The last time this happened was when Pope Benedict resigned and, essentially, turned the papacy over to Pope Francis, who is arguably the worst pope in Catholic history on account of his blatant heresies and public opposition to the most basic and unchangeable truths which the Catholic Faith has always, still, and always will hold because they are from God and God does not change such as on the Eucharist, marriage, and homosexuality.

Yes, this really happened at that exact time

The world is a tinderbox, and all that it will take is a small spark to alight a great fire that, I gravely fear, will realize the horrible prophecy foretold by Our Lady of Akita, which all those who have seen the full text of the Third Secret of Fatima agree is the same message:

As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.

“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests); churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

“The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.

Our Lady of Fatima, ora pro nobis. We are going to need it.
