Christians are fleeing Islamic persecution in Pakistan and going to Thailand. But the Thai authorities are rounding them up and imprisoning them. The police just recently arrested twenty Christians.

Thousands of Christian lives are at risk in Thailand and it seems no one cares. They fled from Pakistan because they were persecuted for loving Christ. They came to Thailand in the hope of being protected and heard. Instead they are constantly threatened with deportation back to Pakistan, where of course they would be murdered by the state. In Thailand, they are not permitted to work, have no money, no food, no education, and no medical aid.

Above all they constantly live under the fear of being detained by the Thai police which consider them illegal immigrants and are taken to the Bangkok’s filthy detention center where the conditions are beyond inhumane. From the youngest of children till the oldest citizens all suffer detention packed in rooms where even catching a breath is difficult.

Yesterday, on October 6th 2015 there was another raid on the buildings where these helpless Christians live in poor conditions, and more than 20 people including minor children and women were arrested. Despite a serious call for action from the international community the UNHCR in Bangkok is doing nothing to protect these asylum seekers. The UNHCR is being cruel by ignoring the sufferings of Pakistani Christians in Bangkok. Where in the laws of the world is child detention permitted? I bet nowhere, but unfortunately, Pakistani Christians who came to Thailand to save their lives are paying this price and UNHCR is reluctant to help them while on the contrary the UNHCR is extremely busy in resettling the Syrians, Rohingyas and Ahmadis etc. to the safe third countries. Is it not the discrimination?

UNHCR is abandoning these genuine refugees to endless statelessness. So much discrimination and humiliation on daily basis have dried up all tears from the eyes of these Pakistani Christians but what holds back behind those embankments of dry eyes is a flood, which is ready to burst open.

In March 2015 Farrukh Saif Foundation got released more than 70 Pakistani Christians from Bangkok immigration detention center by paying huge amount in concept of their bails. In July 2015 we filed an official complaint against UNHCR Bangkok in UNHCR´s head office in Geneva. In September 2015 we paid fines for 31 Pakistanis who were arrested by the police and Failure to pay that fine would have resulted in being sent to Thai prisons alongside dangerous criminals. Right now our lawyers in 3 different countries (Spain, USA & Netherlands) are working hard on filing a lawsuit against UNHCR Bangkok in the International Criminal Court on the grounds of serious human rights violations committed by UNHCR.

Meanwhile Farrukh Saif foundation will do its best to pay fines for those who have been arrested today and will help them with food and other basic needs while they are detained. Farrukh Saif Foundation understands their pain, their suffering and their only desire of living with respect and dignity in a safe country. That is why we have stood with them in last several years and we promise that they won´t be abandoned by us, no matter who else stands with them and who leaves them in these difficult moments. They can always count on us.

A message to UNHCR: be as partial as you can, torture my brothers and sisters as much as you want, cross the limits of cruelty by not fulfilling your obligations towards these deserving Christians, but Farrukh Saif Foundation will not leave them alone, they will be taken care by their brother Farrukh Harrison Saif, and you (UNHCR) will not be forgiven for all what you have done to them. You will be dragged to the court for facing justice and being punished for all the suffering you have brought to my Pakistani Christian community in Thailand.
