ISIS captured a young university student and chopped his head off. According to one report:
The extremist group of Islamic State (ISIS) executed a student in Shaddadi city of Hasakah province in northeastern Syria, local sources reported on Wednesday.
Ahmed Shihab, 24, was arrested in Shaddadi city in June on charges of leaking ISIS security information to forces loyal to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The victim was beheaded in front of a crowd of people in the public square of Shaddadi on Wednesday.
Shihab was a student at the Educational Faculty of Hasakah University. He was arrested in June upon his return from Hasakah city to his hometown of Shaddadi.
“ISIS militants captured him on charges of having links with the regime forces, which is an absolute lie,” a family member told ARA News on the condition of anonymity.
“Ahmed was a very committed student. He came to Shaddadi to visit his family after more than a year of being stuck in Hasakah city. But he was arrested and then brutally beheaded in front of his family members in central Shaddadi,” the source added.
The radical group has executed hundreds of Syrians under the pretext of having links with regime forces or Kurdish fighters, while many others faced a similar destiny on charges of apostasy.
