Shortly before 8 pm, elements of the federal riot police, prevented professors from the State Coordinator of Education Workers in Guerrero (CETEG) from going to the International Airport Juan Alvarez de Acapulco.
The police fired tear gas and used extreme violence in the eviction forcing the teachers to retreat from the roads leading to the airport.
CETEG teachers are protesting to resolve the problems of workers not receiving their salaries. An estimated 94,000 workers from CETEG, SNTE and the Union of Public Servants of the State of Guerrero have not received payments.
At exactly 11am, more than 2000 teachers began marching at the junction towards the international airport, to pressure the authorities to comply with established bargaining agreements.
Number of protesters arrested and/or injured is unknown at this time but images of injuries look severe.
