British Prime Minister Boris Johnson does not need to self isolate even though a member of his staff on a recent trip to Scotland tested positive for the coronavirus, his Downing Street office said.
Johnson visited a police college in Fife on Wednesday and a wind farm off Aberdeenshire on Thursday.
Local media reported a member of Johnson's staff who accompanied him to the police college and travelled with him on a plane tested positive for coronavirus.
"The Prime Minister regularly visits communities across the UK and all aspects of visits are carried out in line with COVID guidance," a Downing Street spokesperson said.
"The Prime Minister has not come into close contact with anyone who has tested positive."
Last month Johnson and finance minister Rishi Sunak both self-isolated in line with national guidance, abandoning heavily criticised plans to take part in a pilot scheme that would have allowed them to continue working.
"It's clear the Prime Minister hasn't learned anything from what happened last time he tried to cook up a reason to be above the rules everyone else has to follow," said Anneliese Dodds, chair of the opposition Labour Party.
"Senior Conservatives are really taking the public for fools. This is yet another example of one rule for them and another for everyone else."

Melbourne:
An Australian Army soldier suffered serious head and chest injuries after being mauled by a crocodile that attacked him late on Friday, Australia media reported, with a colleague who came to his rescue in Queensland's far north also bitten.
Australian media said the two soldiers were swimming near a coastal fishing village on the Cape York Peninsula, about 800 kilometres (497 miles) north of Cairns, when attacked. The Royal Flying Doctor Service saying on Twitter it had flown the men to a hospital in Cairns, with media reporting both were in stable condition.
"Two blokes have been swimming in croc-infested waters. One got attacked and the other one tried to help," the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), quoted Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council Mayor Wayne Butcher as saying.
The soldier who came to aid his colleague suffered arm and wrist injuries, according to media reports. It wasn't immediately clear what happened to the crocodile.
The defence department told ABC both men are Army personnel, but did not say whether they were on duty when the attack happened.
Queensland's Department of Environment and it would further investigate the incident, with a team of wildlife officers was due to reach the remote area only later on Saturday.
According to data from the Northern Territory government, the state with the highest number of crocodiles in Australia, there are between 100,000 and 200,000 saltwater crocodiles, native to northern Australia, living in the wild in the country.

Sydney:
Australia's state of New South Wales reported another record day of Covid-19 cases Saturday, as authorities in the country's second city of Melbourne rushed to trace the source of its outbreaks.
Australia's three largest cities were in lockdown on Saturday, as New South Wales recorded 319 community cases of the virus and five more deaths -- a third straight day of record case numbers.
With the virus continuing to spread through Sydney's sprawling suburbs, despite the city heading into its seventh week of lockdown, state Health Minister Brad Hazzard expressed frustration that people appeared to be ignoring restrictions and urged residents to stay at home.
"That is the biggest thing you can do for all of us and for yourself, to make sure that we beat this Delta virus that is wreaking havoc across the world," Hazzard told media.
He also announced that the city of Armidale, about six hours' drive northwest of Sydney, would join around 60 percent of Australia's 25 million residents already under stay-at-home orders.
Contact tracers in Melbourne's state of Victoria, which on Thursday returned to lockdown for the sixth time since the pandemic began, were still working to track down the source of its outbreaks.
"This is very, very significant to see this many cases ... we don't know where those two outbreaks started," state premier Daniel Andrews said, announcing 29 new cases of the virus.
And as the city of Brisbane is set to end its lockdown on Sunday, health officials urged people not to become complacent ahead of the loosening of restrictions.
A lack of supply and pockets of vaccine hesitancy has throttled efforts to immunise Australians, with just over 20 percent of the population fully vaccinated.
The nation managed to avoid the worst of the pandemic for the past 18 months, but the effectiveness of its  "Covid zero" policy had been called into question as lockdowns struggle to stamp out the highly-infection Delta variant.

A fisherman in North Carolina, US, has caught a fish that has distinct teeth, like humans. An image of the aquatic animal shared on the Facebook page has instantly gone viral and surprised many. It shows the fish having incisors on the upper and lower jaws. It also has several rows of molars to crush its prey. It was later identified as a sheepshead fish, which got its name due to its mouth looking like the mouth of a sheep.
One of the images shared on the social media page of Jennette's Pier showed the fisher who caught this weird-looking fish.
The post has been shared more than 300 times since it was uploaded earlier this week. And a lot of people have commented on it, sharing their excitement as well as bemusement.
"I have never seen a fish like this one," said Jean-Claude Savard.
Another user, Orkun Movic, said, "His teeth look better than mine."
While a third tried to help the fish clean its teeth by offering to give names of good orthodontists. “I know some good orthodontists," said Wiley Sanders.
William Forsyth said he thought the fish had been "on a diet of baked beans".
One of the users was so unconvinced that a fish can have teeth like humans, that she said the image was photoshopped. “Some of the worst photoshop I have seen,” said Pamela A-v.
"Shame that all the person who is supposed to have caught it can think of killing it and eating the poor thing. Put it back in the water and let it live its life in peace - supposing it is even a real fish," said Talaith Gwyrdd.
Despite some people not believing the image, the sheepshead fish has existed for a long and is commonly found in North and South America. It's a deep-bodied flatfish with sharp dorsal spines. It usually grows 10-20 inches long and is an omnivore.

Britain has warned all UK nationals in Afghanistan to leave the country immediately due to the "worsening security situation" as fighting intensifies.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on Friday updated its website to advise against all travel to Afghanistan.
"All British nationals in Afghanistan are advised to leave now by commercial means. If you are still in Afghanistan, you are advised to leave now by commercial means because of the worsening security situation," it said.
The foreign office warned Britons not to rely on it for emergency evacuation, saying the assistance it could provide was "extremely limited".
The warning comes after the Taliban launched a major offensive to coincide with the withdrawal of US-led foreign forces after nearly two decades of conflict.
"Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Afghanistan. Specific methods of attack are evolving and increasing in sophistication," the foreign office said.
The Taliban now control vast swathes of rural Afghanistan and are challenging government forces in several cities, including Herat, near the western border with Iran, and Lashkar Gah and Kandahar in the south.
On Friday, the Taliban captured their first provincial capital since stepping up their offensive in May.
Zaranj, the capital of the southwest province of Nimroz, fell "without a fight", deputy provincial governor Roh Gul Khairzad told AFP.

UK transport minister Grant Shapps says that countries will demand full vaccination “forevermore” and that young people “won’t be able to leave the country” without being double jabbed.
Shapps made the comments during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Today show.
“I think double vaccination, full vaccination, is going to be a feature forevermore and most countries, probably all countries, will require full vaccination in order for you to enter,” said the minister.
“It’s important to understand that there are simply going to be things that you will not be able to do unless you’re double-vaccinated or have a medical reason not to be, including going abroad,” he added.
He then directly addressed people in their 20’s who were under the impression the virus doesn’t effect them by asserting, “You won’t be able to leave the country” without the jab.
The comments were intended to combat vaccine hesitancy amongst young people, with figures showing fewer than 60% of 18- to 25-year-olds had received their first jab in England.
The UK is set to introduce vaccine passports in September that mandate proof of full vaccination before allowing people to enter venues such as nightclubs and concerts.
The option of providing a negative COVID test result instead will be removed despite the fact that fully vaccinated people can still spread the virus.
The government initially vowed to never introduce vaccine passports because they were “discriminatory,” but if the government is successful in doing so, expect the list of venues requiring them to rapidly expand.
However, some nightclubs have <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/14/nightclubs-cinemas-resist-government-demand-to-introduce-covid-passports/">vowed to resist</a> the measures, insisting that they are impossible to enforce and will eliminate profit margins, making staying in business unworkable.
As Sir Desmond Swayne recently warned, vaccine passports are merely a veil for the introduction of national identity cards.
“It is the Trojan Horse for an identity card system. Once you bring in requirements of this sort, they’re very, very difficult to remove,” Sir Desmond said.
