French Philosopher Says Massive Demographic Changes in Europe Are “Obvious”

During a television debate, French philosopher Alain Finkielkraut said it would take a “fanatical denial of reality” to disregard the “spectacular” demographic changes that are taking place in Europe.
Alain Finkielkraut, who is one of 40 lifetime members of the 400-year-old Académie Française, which serves to safeguard the French language and culture, <a href="https://rmx.news/trending/famed-french-intellectual-says-great-replacement-is-obvious/">made the comments</a> during an appearance on TV channel Europe 1.
Finkielkraut asserted that attempts to shut down such debates by claiming mere discussion of a “Great Replacement” is dangerous are only serving to distract from a very real and “obvious” problem.
“This is in fact a fragmentation and yes, this risk does exists and in any case, I think the demographic change of Europe is extremely spectacular. The historical peoples in certain municipalities and regions are becoming a minority,” Finkielkraut said. “A whole part of French people now live not in the suburbs, but beyond the suburbs, because they are no longer the cultural reference they used to be, because all the butchers are, for example, Halal.”
The philosopher stressed that the issue should be treated “with a lot of precaution, but demonizing it (as racist) is absurd and once again testifies to the fanatical denial of reality.”
The most vocal and outspoken candidate in the upcoming French election when it comes to highlighting demographic replacement is Jewish intellectual Eric Zemmour, a man who Finkielkraut insists is “too radical.”
Zemmour has called for France’s notorious Islamic ghetto no-go zones, which are routinely the scene of violence and mass rioting, to be “re-conquered by force.”
In a speech, Zemmour also warned that 1.5 billion Africans wanting to make their way to Europe represented “the death of France.”

“I think the anguish felt over the end of France as it was, the anguish of the Great Replacement, has become a global feeling,” said Zemmour last year. “The fear of no longer being France, the fear of the famous Great Replacement. A lot of people are starting to think that Islam is going to replace us. It has become a massive feeling, a mass of 70 to 80 percent of France.”
A <a href="https://summit.news/2021/04/30/poll-majority-of-french-agree-with-military-generals-that-the-country-is-heading-towards-civil-war/">poll</a> taken in April last year found that the majority of French citizens thought some form of “civil war” was likely as a result of failed multiculturalism and attacks on French identity.
The poll was prompted by a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luYC9SOcoWw">letter</a> that was signed by 1,000 military servicemembers, including 20 retired generals, warning President Macron of “several deadly dangers” threatening France, including “Islamism and the hordes of the banlieue,” a reference to the fractured suburbs around major cities with high crime and immigrant populations.

Free Economy and Social Order

Most of us, and all of us most of the time, deal with the market economy as a definite type of economic order, a sort of “economic technique” as opposed to the socialist “technique.”
For this view, it is significant that we call its constructional principle the “price mechanism.” Here we move in the world of prices, of markets, of supply and demand, of competition, of wage rates, of interest rates, of exchange rates, and whatnot.
That is, of course, right and proper—as far as it goes. But there is a great danger of overlooking an important fact: the market economy as an economic order must be correlated to a certain structure of society, and to a definite mental climate which is appropriate to it.
The success of the market economy wherever it has been restored in our time—most conspicuously in western Germany—has resulted, even in some socialist circles, in a tendency to appropriate the market economy as a technical device capable of being built into a society which, in all other respects, is socialist.
The market economy then appears as part of a comprehensive social and political system which, in its conception, is a highly centralized colossal machinery. In that sense, there has always been a sector of market economy also in the Soviet system, but we all realize that this sector is a mere gadget, a technical device, not a living thing. Why? Because the market economy as a field of liberty, spontaneity, and free coordination cannot thrive in a social system which is the very opposite.
That leads to my first main proposition: the market economy rests on two essential pillars, not on one alone. It assumes not only the freedom of prices and competition (whose virtues the new socialist adepts of the market economy now reluctantly acknowledge), but rests equally on the institution of private property. This property must be genuine. It must comprise all the rights of free disposal without which—as formerly in Nationalist Socialist Germany and today in Norway—it becomes an empty legal shell. To these rights must be added the right to bequeath property.
Property in a free society has a double function. It means not only that the individual sphere of decision and responsibility is, as we have learned as lawyers, demarcated against other individuals, but it also means that property protects the individual sphere against the government and its ever-present tendency toward omnipotence. It is both a horizontal and a vertical boundary. And it is in this double function that property must be understood as the indispensable condition of liberty.
It is curious and saddening to see how blind the average type of socialist is vis-à-vis the economic, moral, and sociological functions of property, and even more that particular social philosophy in which property must be rooted. In this tendency to ignore the meaning of property, socialism has made enormous progress in our time. Traces of this may be discovered even in modern discussion on the problems of enterprise and management, which sometimes give the impression that the property owner is the “forgotten man” of our age.

<h4>The Role of Private Property</h4>
The intellectual constructions of “market socialism” are a good example of how the most serious fallacies ensue if we overlook the functions of private property. These fallacies can already be demonstrated on the level of ordinary economic analysis. But I wish to suggest that it is the whole social climate, the form of life, and the habits of planning for life which matter.
There is a definite “leftist” ideology, inspired by excessive social rationalism, as opposed to a “rightist,” conservative one, respecting certain things we cannot touch, weigh, or measure but which are of sovereign importance. The real role of property cannot be understood unless we see it as one of the most important examples of something of much wider significance.
It illustrates the fact that the market economy is a form of economic order that is correlated to a concept of life and a socio-moral pattern which, for want of an appropriate English or French term, we may call buergerliche in the wide sense of this German word, which is largely free of the disparaging associations of the adjective “bourgeois.”
This buergerliche foundation of the market economy must be frankly acknowledged. All the more so because a century of Marxist propaganda and intellectualist romanticism has been astonishingly and alarmingly successful in spreading a parody of this concept. In fact, the market economy can thrive only as part of and surrounded by a buergerliche social order.
Its place is in a society where certain elementary things are respected and are coloring the whole life of the community: individual responsibility; respect of certain indisputable norms; the individual’s honest and serious struggle to get ahead and develop his faculties; independence anchored in property; responsible planning of one’s own life and that of one’s family; thriftiness; enterprise; assuming well calculated risks; the sense of workmanship; the right relation to nature and the community; the sense of continuity and tradition; the courage to brave the uncertainties of life on one’s own account; the sense of the natural order of things.
Those who find all this contemptible and reeking of narrow-mindedness and “reaction” must be seriously asked to reveal their own scale of values and to tell us what kind of values they want to defend against communism without borrowing ideas from it.
That is only another way of saying that the market economy supposes a society which is the opposite of a “proletarianized” one, the opposite of a mass society—with its lack of a solid and necessarily hierarchical structure, and its corresponding sense of being uprooted. Independence, property, individual reserves, natural anchors of life, saving, thrift, responsibility, reasonable planning of life, all these are alien to such a society. They are destroyed by it, at least to that extent that they cease to give the tone to society. But we must realize that these are precisely the conditions of a durable free society.
The moment has come to see clearly that this is the real watershed of social philosophies. Here the ultimate parting of ways takes place, and there is no getting around the fact that the concepts and patterns of life which clash against each other in this field are decisive for the fate of society, and that they are irreconcilable.
Once we admit this, we must be prepared to see its significance in every field and to draw the corresponding conclusions. It is indeed remarkable to see how far we all are already drawn into the habits of thinking of an essentially unbuergerliche world. That is a fact which the economists also ought to take to heart, for they are among the worst sinners.
Enchanted by the elegance of a certain type of analysis, how often we discuss the problems of aggregate savings and investments, the hydraulics of income flows, the attractions of vast schemes of economic stabilization and of social security, the beauties of advertising or installment credits, the advantages of “functional” public finance, the progress of giant enterprise and whatnot, without realizing that, in doing so, we take for granted a society which is already largely deprived of those buergerliche conditions and habits which I described.
It is shocking to think how far our minds are already moving in terms of a proletarianized, mechanized, centralized mass society. It has become almost impossible for us to reason other than, in terms of income and expenditure, of input and output, having forgotten to think in terms of property. That is, by the way, the deepest reason for my own fundamental and insurmountable distrust in Keynesian and post-Keynesian economics.
It is, indeed, highly significant that Keynes attained fame mostly for his trite and cynical remark that “in the long run, we are all dead.” And it is even more significant that so many contemporary economists have found this dictum particularly spiritual and progressive. But let us remember that it only echoes the slogan of the Ancien Regime in the 18th century: Apres nous le deluge. And let us ask why this is so significant. Because it reveals the decidedly unbuergerliche, the Bohemian spirit of this modern trend in economics and in economic policy. It betrays the new hardboiled happy-go-luckiness, the tendency to live from hand to mouth, and to make the style of the Bohemian the new watchword for a more enlightened generation.
To incur debts becomes a positive virtue; to save, a capital sin. To live beyond one’s means, as individuals and as nations, is the logical consequence. But what else is this than Entbuergerlichung, deracination, proletarianization, nomadization? And is not this the very opposite of our concept of civilization which is derived from civis, the Buerger?
Muddling through from day to day and from one expedient to another, to boast that “money does not matter”—that is, indeed, the opposite of an honest, disciplined, and orderly concept and plan of life. The income of people living on these lines may have become buergerliche, but their style of life is still proletarian.
<h4>A Growing Concept</h4>
It is clearly impossible in the space of a short article to study the impact of all this in all the important fields. I have discussed it in regards to private property. It is further very disquieting to see how this concept has permeated more and more the economic and social policies of our time. One major example is the Mitbestimmungsrecht (codetermination—the right of workers and trade-union representatives to participate in the administration of industrial enterprises and thus to take over some functions of proper ownership) in West Germany.
To give an illustration: the director of a large power plant in Germany tells me how silly he felt the other day when, in wage negotiations with trade-union officials, he had to deal with the same men who, at the same time, sit beside him at meetings of trustees of the power plants themselves. He adds that the structure of enterprises in West Germany approaches more and more that which Tito seems to have in mind. And that is happening in the very country which is considered today the model of a successful restoration of the free-market economy!
Another example of this gradual dissolution of the meaning of property, and of the corresponding norms, which can be observed in many countries, is the softening of the responsibility of the debtor. By lax legal procedure with regard to execution and bankruptcy, this, more often than not, amounts—in the name of social justice—to the expropriation of the creditor. It is hardly necessary to recall, in this connection, the expropriation of the hapless class of house owners by rent control, and the effects of progressive taxation.
Let us apply our reflections to another most important field: money. Let us recognize that respect for money as something intangible is, like property, an essential part of the social order and of the mentality which are the prerequisites of the market economy.
To illustrate my case, I want to tell two stories which I take from the financial history of France. At the end of 1870, Gambetta, the leader of the French Resistance after the defeat of the Second Empire, left the besieged capital in a balloon for Tours to create the new republican army. In his desperate need for money, he remembered that his admired predecessors of the Revolution had financed their wars by printing and assignats. He asked the representative of the Banque de France to print for him a few hundred million notes. But he met with a flat and indignant refusal. At that time, such a demand was considered so monstrous that Gambetta did not insist. The Jacobin firebrand and all-powerful dictator yielded to the determined no of the representative of the central bank who would not accept even a supreme national emergency as an excuse for the crime of inflation.
A few months later, the socialist revolt known as the Commune occurred in Paris. The gold reserves and the plates of the notes of the Banque de France were at the mercy of the revolutionaries. But, badly in need of money and politically unscrupulous as they were, they strongly resisted the temptation to lay their hands on them. In the very midst of the flames of civil war, the central bank and its money were sacrosanct to them.
The significance of these two stories will not escape anyone. It would, indeed, be harsh to ask what has become of this respect for money in our time, not least of all in France. To restore this respect and the corresponding discipline in money and credit policy is one of the most important conditions for the durable success of all our efforts to restore and maintain a free economy and, therewith, a free society.

Will the Fed Pop the Everything Bubble?

The history of economic development cannot be understood without the importance of recession periods.
Recessions are often the result of the excess accumulated in previous years. Creative destruction after a period of excess used to drive a stronger recovery and continued economic development. That was until risky assets became the biggest concern for policymakers.
From the late seventies and early eighties US housing slump and automobile industry crisis to the technology and housing bubble burst there is a clear process of causation created by interest rate policy. Constant decreases in interest rates lead to excessive risk-taking, complacency and accumulation of exposure to increasingly expensive assets under the perception that there is no risk. Bubbles become larger and more dangerous because interest rates are kept abnormally low for a prolonged period and it disguises risk, clouding citizens’ and investors’ perception of danger in elevated valuations. Cheap money leads to generalized and dangerous risk exposure.
After every recession, central banks keep rates too low for too long even in growth periods because policymakers’ fear asset price corrections, and this leads to complacency and the creation of bubbles everywhere. Once policymakers decide to raise rates, they often cause a recession because the amount of risk taken by even the most conservative investor or household is simply too high. By the time that central banks decide to finally raise rates the bubbles are already more than a market headline, but a dangerous and widespread accumulation of risk that negatively affects millions of unsuspecting citizens.
The question is what is worse, the rate cuts or the rate hikes? Rate hikes tend to trigger recessions, as Jesse Colombo or Lance Roberts have shown in numerous charts, but what causes them is previous extraordinary levels of accumulated risks throughout the economy.
The boom-and-bust cycle is more severe and frequent, as we have seen since the late seventies. That is why central banks never truly normalize policy, rates remain in negative territory in real terms. And investors know it. That is why there is a perverse incentive for households, businesses, and investors to buy any correction.
The fear of interest rate hikes allows us to analyse what has happened in other similar periods.
Between 1985 and 1990 the Fed raised rates 325 basis points and the S&P 500 rose 45 percent. The rate hike cycle drove emerging economies like Mexico to the ground and states like California went bankrupt.

Between 1993 and 2000 the Fed also raised rates by 325 basis points and the US stock market shot up 225 percent. In that period, we saw the Tech bubble burst and the early 2000s recession. In the 2003 to 2007 period the Fed raised rates by 375 basis points and the market rose 30 percent. It brought the great financial crisis and the housing bubble burst.
Between 2015 and 2020, rates rose 200 basis points and the US index advanced 65 percent. In that period, in 2018, we saw the Fed change its rate-hike course rapidly after a market correction.
Will the Federal Reserve change its rate hike plan this time? History shows us that central banks care much more about risky assets—stocks and bonds—than they say and certainly a lot more than they do about inflation.
At the beginning of 2016, faced with a cycle of expected rate hikes, the S&P500 corrected 11.3 percent until January 20th. The Federal Reserve ended up raising rates just once that year despite announcing four hikes. Why did they change? “Geopolitical risk and weakening financial conditions”. Exactly what is happening now.
In December 2018, after years of a bull market, the US stock market fell by 9 percent, and on January 3rd, 2019, it corrected another 3.5 percent. The next day, the Federal Reserve announced that it was “going to be patient” and stopped its rate hike path on its tracks.
It is true that inflation was not 7 percent then and the Federal Reserve may probably be more tolerant of a market correction than when the US CPI was 3 percent, but we cannot forget that history shows us that central banks always maintain looser conditions than it seems from their messages and headlines.
The evidence of the United States economic slowdown is everywhere. Retail sales, job creation, stagnant labor force participation, declining real wages and slowing capital expenditure. To all this we must add the continued rise in energy commodities due to the Ukraine tensions.
The Federal Reserve is aware of the “bubble of everything” created in recent years and the elevated levels of debt throughout the economy. Unfortunately, the Fed has already left rates low, and asset purchases high, for too long to prevent an inevitable negative economic effect. Even worse, the solution will likely be to repeat the same policies that created the conditions for excess.

Neil Young’s Attempt to Pressure Spotify to Censor Joe Rogan Fails Miserably

Musician Neil Young’s attempt to force Spotify to censor Joe Rogan’s podcast has failed miserably, with Young deleting the open letter he posted on his website.
The 70’s rocker tried to give Spotify an ultimatum that they had to remove Rogan or delete his music catalogue.
Young accused Spotify of “spreading fake information about vaccines” because Rogan dares to have in depth discussions with esteemed doctors who don’t blindly follow the COVID narrative.
“I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them,” he wrote. “Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.”
“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform,” he added. “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”
While Young may have got some traction on Twitter from the usual crowd of COVID bedwetters and censorship freaks, his efforts have proven completely futile.
Indeed, Spotify is yet to even offer an official response to his public relations stunt.

The singer-songwriter appears to have already backed out of the ultimatum given that he deleted the open letter he had posted to his website.
“Young likely realized that he has no grounds to make the demands. Rogan has an exclusive deal with Spotify and Young sold 50% of the rights to his music to a British investment company a year ago,” <a href="https://reclaimthenet.org/neil-young-deletes-open-letter-calling-for-joe-rogan-censorship-on-spotify/">writes</a> Christina Maas.
Neil Young’s public hissy fit merely appears to have been a play for attention given that he, like Howard Stern, who also routinely attacks Rogan, is becoming increasingly irrelevant.
Specifically, Rogan enjoys an average of over 11 million listeners per episode, with some hitting as high as 40 million, while Young attracts 6 million listeners per month in comparison.
Indeed, the musician previously demanded that Donald Trump stop playing his hit ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ at his rallies, only to subsequently admit he had no legal power to do so.
“DT does not have my permission to use the song ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’ at his appearances,” said Young in 2018. “Legally, he has the right to, however it goes against my wishes.”
This is the second time in the space of two weeks that a lobbying campaign to have Rogan deplatformed has failed.
The mainstream media tried to hype a letter supposedly ‘signed by 270’ doctors demanding Spotify cancel Rogan, only for it to swiftly <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10418589/Most-270-signed-anti-Joe-Rogan-letter-demanding-Spotify-action-not-actually-doctors.html">emerge</a> that the majority of the signatories were not medical doctors.

But Americans will have to go pick up the free N95 masks in person from local pharmacies and community health centers (many of which serve vulnerable and underserved communities), with supplies becoming available as early as this week. (You may want to call your local pharmacy first to find out if their shipments have come in.)
The masks will be fully available at tens of thousands of such locations by early February, according to the White House. Pharmacies across the country have reported already <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/24/health/free-n95-masks-pharmacies-health-centers-us/index.html">receiving their shipments of N95 masks and distributing them to customers</a> in recent days.
The pharmacies participating in the distribution of N95s <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/free-n95-masks-to-be-made-available-at-pharmacies-white-house-says-11642586403?mod=hp_lead_pos6">will be the same</a> as those that partnered with the government to <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/retail-pharmacy-program/participating-pharmacies.html">provide Covid-19 vaccines to the public</a>. <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/retail-pharmacy-program/participating-pharmacies.html">This includes</a> big retail chains like Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Walmart, Rite Aid, Kroger, Albertsons (think Safeway and Randalls), and Costco.
Everyone can get up to three masks free “to ensure broad access for all Americans,” the White House said.
Jen Kates, the senior vice president and director of global health and HIV policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation, told Vox that it’s unknown whether the administration will distribute more masks down the road. But while it’s not clear if this is a one-time measure, the distribution of 400 million N95s amounts to more than half the total 750 million N95 masks currently stored in the Strategic National Stockpile, which might factor into the administration’s thinking on whether to have another giveaway down the road.
In <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/types-of-masks.html">updated guidance</a> issued recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that “while all masks and respirators provide some level of protection, properly fitted respirators” — the technical term for a face mask like an N95 — “provide the highest level of protection.”
<a href="https://www.vox.com/2022/1/8/22873390/covid-19-better-masks-n95-respirator-surgical-omicron">Experts</a> increasingly are making the case that cloth masks are <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/cloth-face-mask-omicron-11640984082">insufficient</a> in the face of a virus as infectious as the omicron variant of Covid-19, as they are <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/pdfs/understanddifferenceinfographic-508.pdf">not very effective</a> at preventing small airborne particles from passing through to the wearer.
N95s get their name due to the fact that properly certified masks can filter out at least 95 percent of airborne particles, including aerosol particles and respiratory droplets. They also tend to have a tighter fit (if worn properly) that makes them <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/pdfs/understanddifferenceinfographic-508.pdf">superior</a> to surgical masks, which are generally looser fitting.
Although the administration is giving out N95s, masks like <a href="https://nymag.com/strategist/article/whats-the-difference-between-kn95-and-kf94-masks.html">KN95s and KF94s</a> are also considered to offer a similar level of protection that N95s provide, and are widely available from retailers. (N95s are certified by standards set by the United States government, KN95s by the <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2022/01/15/1073273768/n95-mask-respirator-cdc">Chinese government</a>, and KF94s by the South Korean government.)
The tricky thing is that there are fake versions of N95s and KN95s on the market. Here is the <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/2021-124/pdfs/2021-124.pdf">CDC’s guide</a> to determining whether an N95 you encounter is the legitimate article. Given that each person can only get three free N95s, you may need to extend the lifespan of the masks.
The CDC says you shouldn’t wear them <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/ppe-strategy/decontamination-reuse-respirators.html">more than five times</a>. However, Anne Miller of <a href="https://www.projectn95.org/">Project N95</a>, a nonprofit that assists communities with acquiring personal protective equipment, COVID-19 diagnostic tests, and other crucial supplies, <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2022/01/15/1073273768/n95-mask-respirator-cdc">told NPR</a> that you can think about the five wearings in terms of eight-hour days, or 40 hours of wear total — meaning if you go for a 20-minute trip to the store, you can count that as 20 minutes off of that mask’s 40-hour life.
One way the <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/respirators-strategy/index.html">CDC</a> and other <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7748974/">experts</a> recommend extending the use of your masks is what Miller calls the “<a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2022/01/15/1073273768/n95-mask-respirator-cdc">brown bag decontamination method</a>.” You can store an N95 in a breathable paper bag for a week, and then reuse it, as the viral particles on it will have died off by then.
Still, you should also use your best judgment and dispose of any mask that appears dirty and hard to wear or breathe in, or if the fit is starting to loosen.
<a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/01/18/biden-free-masks-omicron-surge-527335">The supply will not include child-sized masks</a>, though the administration is working to procure masks specifically for children.
Because most N95s have traditionally been made for <a href="https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/personal-protective-equipment-infection-control/n95-respirators-surgical-masks-face-masks-and-barrier-face-coverings">health care, manufacturing, and industrial use</a>, there are no versions specifically designed for children, and one should avoid trusting any N95 marketed for children. Instead, aim to get KN95s and KF94s, as these kinds of respirator masks do have versions made for children.
The rollout of the masks comes during a period when Covid-19 cases are finally <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/22/us/omicron-cases-us-deaths.html">starting to fall overall nationwide</a> following a debilitating weeks-long surge. That timing has some wondering whether the distribution of masks and rapid tests comes too little, too late.
“Better late than never,” Kates said, arguing that the plans are important signals that the Biden administration is pushing past “the politicization of masks” and that they will do more to control Covid beyond vaccination.
Emanuel, who has previously <a href="https://twitter.com/ZekeEmanuel/status/1483876185323245569?s=20">stated</a> that individuals “wearing N95s is the single biggest thing we can do to reduce transmission,” emphasized to Vox that “we shouldn’t underestimate the power of social norms.” By distributing free N95s, he said, the Biden administration is encouraging people to be more “socially responsible.”
It’s a welcome move — but there’s a whole lot more that needs to be done, including <a href="https://www.science.org/doi/abs/10.1126/science.abg2025">improving ventilation</a> on a wide scale, shoring up our <a href="https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/2782429">hospital systems</a>, bolstering <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/nov/17/us-covid-vaccine-manufacturing-billion-doses-biden">global vaccine production capacity</a>, and increasing the production of effective <a href="https://www.brookings.edu/blog/techtank/2021/06/14/time-to-make-essential-medicines-within-the-united-states/">drugs and treatments</a>.
