Denmark To Scrap All Covid-19 Restrictions

<p><strong>Denmark will on September 10th stop classifying Covid-19 as an “illness which is a critical threat to society”, meaning all remaining special pandemic restrictions will expire, <a href="https://www.thelocal.dk/20210827/denmark-to-scrap-all-covid-19-restrictions-next-month/">The Local </a>reported. In a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://sum.dk/nyheder/2021/august/regeringen-planlaegger-ikke-at-forlaenge-kategorisering-af-covid-19-som-samfundskritisk-sygdom" target="_blank">press release</a> issued on Friday morning, the country’s health minister Magnus Heunicke said that the high level of vaccination in Denmark, particularly among the vulnerable, had radically altered the risks posed by the virus.</strong></p>
<p>“The epidemic is under control, we have record high vaccination rates,” he said in a statement. “As a result, on September 10th, we can drop some of the special rules we have had to introduce in the fight against Covid-19.”</p>
<p>September 10th marks the expiry date for that the executive order classifying Covid-19 as a “socially critical illness”, which was passed by the Danish parliament’s Epidemic Committee on March 10th last year. </p>
<p>The parties in the centre-right blue bloc, led by the Liberal Party, have already said that they believe that Covid-19 should no longer be classed as a serious threat to society, and the health ministry’s announcement came less than an hour before the ruling Social Democrats were due to discuss the issue with the other parties in the Epidemic Committee. </p>
<p>“When it sinks in for the Social Democrat government that they are in a minority, they then come up with better ideas just 45 minutes before the meeting in the Epidemic Committee is starting,” said Sophie Løhde, a member of the committee for the Liberal Party. </p>

<p>A number of restrictions are set to lapse on September 1st, notably the requirement to show a valid coronapass to sit in restaurants and bars, and the ban on discos and nightclubs.  </p>
<p>Friday’s announcement means that just ten days after nightclubs reopen on September 1st, visitors will no longer have to show a coronapas, and it also means that from September 10th, those going to watch a Superliga football match or attend an outdoor event with more than 2,000 people, will no longer need a coronapas. </p>

<p>The change in the classification of Covid-19 will not, however, affect rules on travel into Denmark, which are governed by a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.justitsministeriet.dk/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Endelig-aftaletekst.pdf" target="_blank">separate inter-party agreement</a> which is due to expire in October, a spokesperson for the health ministry said. </p>

<p>The incident took place at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, according to Twitter user Robby Starbuck.</p>

<p>Footage shows an officer approaching a student, who does not appear to be wearing a face mask, and tell him it’s the university’s right to ask him to leave.</p>
<p>“This young man was ‘dragged out’ from @UTChattanooga for not wearing a mask,” Starbuck described.</p>
<p>“The laughing crowd are cowards who will one day be thankful men like this stood up for freedom.”</p>
<p>Starbuck concluded the state’s Republican Governor Bill Lee should consider expanding his opt out mandate to colleges and universities.</p>

<p>“Masks are required indoors for everyone, regardless of vaccination status,” the site states.</p>

Texas Supreme Court Rules Mandatory Mask Orders Implemented by School Districts ILLEGAL

<p><strong>The Texas Supreme Court upheld Governor Greg Abbott’s authority to issue a ban on school districts implementing compulsory mask orders, effectively nullifying mask mandates put in place in districts throughout the state.</strong></p>
<p>On Thursday, the Clerk of the Supreme Court, Blake A. Hawthorne, wrote the governor maintains the legal authority to make the government’s decisions “both on the state and local levels.”</p>
<p>“This case, and others like it, are not about whether people should wear masks or whether the government should make them do it,” Hawthorne wrote.</p>
<p>“Rather, these cases ask courts to determine which government officials have the legal authority to decide what the government’s position on such questions will be.”</p>
<p>“The status quo, for many months, has been gubernatorial oversight of such decisions at both the state and local levels. That status quo should remain in place while the court of appeals, and potentially this Court, examine the parties’ merits arguments to determine whether plaintiffs have demonstrated a probable right to the relief sought.”</p>
<p>Many media outlets, most of which are pro-mask, downplayed the major development in reports, with some news agencies claiming the high court’s ruling was merely a “pause” on mandates and “temporary,” and that it only affected San Antonio’s mask mandate.</p>

<p>However, statements by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who lauded the decision, made the ruling’s intent clear – it is meant across the board.</p>
<p>“The Texas Supreme Court has sided with the law, and the decision to enforce mask mandates lies with the governor’s legislatively-granted authority,” Paxton said. “<strong>Mask mandates across our state are illegal</strong>, and judges must abide by the law. Further non-compliance will result in more lawsuits.”</p>

<p>The ruling upholds Gov. Abbott’s Executive Order <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://gov.texas.gov/uploads/files/press/EO-GA-36_prohibition_on_mandating_face_coverings_response_to_COVID-19_disaster_IMAGE_05-18-2021.pdf" target="_blank">issued in May</a> which banned mask mandates issued by government entities and government officials.</p>
<p>“No governmental entity, including a county, city, school district, and public health authority, and no governmental official may require a person to wear a face covering or to mandate that another person wear a face covering,” the order states.</p>
<p>The ruling effectively means recently-implemented mask mandates at <a href="https://www.kxan.com/news/texas/list-texas-school-districts-with-mask-mandates-in-place/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">over 100 schools across the state</a>, including San Antonio ISD, Austin ISD, Eanes ISD, Round Rock ISD, Leander ISD, Houston ISD, and Dallas ISD, <strong>all run afoul of the law</strong> pending further judicial review.</p>
<p>The order comes as the City of San Antonio and Bexar County have attempted to appeal the Governor’s mask ban and implement a restraining order against it, allowing them to force children in schools to mask up.</p>

<p><em>Abbott and Paxton <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2021/08/24/gov-greg-abbott-ag-ask-texas-supreme-court-to-lift-bexar-county-mask-mandate/" target="_blank">filed an emergency motion</a> to the court on Tuesday, seeking a stay on the injunction that allowed Bexar County’s mask mandate to move forward. The court <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.txcourts.gov/supreme/orders-opinions/2021/august/august-26-2021/" target="_blank">granted the stay</a>, but has not yet ruled on the state’s request to permanently lift the injunction as the case moves its way through the courts.</em></p>
<p><em>The injunction was initially granted by 57th Civil District Court Judge Toni Arteaga on Aug. 16 after Bexar County sued the governor, arguing that he overreached on his executive order that barred governmental entities, including schools, from requiring face coverings. Arteaga cited the vulnerability of children in school and <a href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2021/08/16/bexar-county-wins-latest-court-battle-against-gov-abbott-keeping-mask-mandates-in-place-for-now/">a “dire situation”</a> in Bexar County hospitals amid a <a href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2021/08/03/what-to-know-about-the-latest-rise-in-covid-19-in-san-antonio-and-surrounding-areas/">surge of COVID-19 cases</a>.</em></p>
<p><em>The state officials filed an appeal with the Texas Supreme Court after the Fourth Court of Appeals <a href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2021/08/20/metro-health-director-pushes-for-covid-19-vaccines-amid-pandemic-of-the-unvaccinated/">upheld the injunction</a> on Aug. 19.</em></p>

Fed Chair Praises Bad Economics Amid Covid ‘Pandemic’

<p><strong>During a Q&A with students and teachers, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell praised the bad economics that drove the government response to the coronavirus pandemic. In this clip from his podcast, Peter Schiff breaks down everything Powell got wrong.</strong></p>
<p>During the Zoom event, Powell went out of his way to praise Congress for passing the “CARES Act.” The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act was the first $2.2 trillion stimulus plan Congress passed in response to the pandemic back in March 2020.</p>
<p>So, why does Powell admire this massive government spending plan?</p>
<p>He said that Congress was able to replace the income Americans lost as they were out of work due to the pandemic. As Peter pointed out, the plan not only replaced lost income, they augmented it.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="5">
<p>“A lot of people were getting more money not working than when they earned money for working.”</p>
</blockquote>

<p>But Powell missed an important point.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="7">
<p>“Congress was able to replace the income that people lost, but it wasn’t able to replace the productivity that was lost.”</p>
</blockquote>
<p>When people aren’t on the job working, they aren’t producing any goods or services. The government cannot replace that lost production. And income is supposed to be tied to production.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="8">
<p>“You help produce goods and services, and in reward, you get money. And now you can use that money to consume the goods and services that you produced.”</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Of course, you don’t consume the exact products you produce. But your production still adds to the overall basket of goods available. Peter explained it this way.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="13">
<p>“When you’re working, you’re helping to fill up a bag with goods and services, and then you get paid. And now you have the right to reach into that bag and grab some of the goods and services that you helped produce. But when all these people didn’t go to work, they stopped putting stuff into the bag. But now the government gives them all this money so they can reach into the bag and grab stuff anyway. But if no one is putting stuff into the bag, and everybody is reaching into the bag to grab stuff, they’re going to end up empty-handed.”</p>

<p>Ultimately, consumers end up paying higher prices for the remaining goods in the bag because we have all of this money chasing fewer goods and services. Prices get bid up, and we end up with <a href="https://schiffgold.com/peters-podcast/producer-prices-undercut-transitory-inflation-narrative/">a rising cost of living</a>.</p>
<p>Powell doesn’t seem to understand the difference between replacing money and replacing real productivity.</p>

<p>“It’s the stuff. It’s the things that are produced that we need.”</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Meanwhile, Powell’s Fed added even more money to the economy through its massive <a href="https://schiffgold.com/faq/what-is-quantitative-easing/">quantitative easing</a> program. As Peter put it in another podcast, <a href="https://schiffgold.com/key-gold-news/peter-schiff-you-can-print-money-but-you-cant-print-stuff/">you can print money, but you can’t print stuff</a>. As production fell during the pandemic, the proper monetary policy would have been to withdraw money from circulation.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="9">
<p>“It needs the money supply to shrink alongside the supply of goods to maintain prices. If you increase the supply of money while you’re simultaneously decreasing the supply of goods, prices are going to soar, which is exactly what we’re experiencing right now.”</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Peter said Powell should not be praising Congress for doing the wrong thing.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="6">
<p>“They should be condemned, as should the Federal Reserve for being complicit in this activity.”</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Furthermore, the stimulus and bailouts enabled the federal government to enact policies the public would never have accepted if they had to bear the consequences. As the pandemic unfolded, President Trump invoked images of sacrifice during the Second World War. It’s certainly true Americans sacrificed during the war, but they didn’t get a government bailout.</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote" readability="15">
<p>“Trump didn’t ask anyone to sacrifice. He said, ‘Hey, stay at home and we’ll send you a check. If your business is suffering, don’t worry. Get a PPP loan – a forgivable loan. We’ll give you some money.’ That was not the proper policy response to an emergency. If we really had a pandemic, if we really had a health crisis, then obviously people need to bear the financial consequences of that crisis. It’s not a good thing, but it’s reality. But what the government did is try to pretend that nobody actually had to suffer because the government can make everybody’s pain go away simply by printing money. Well, they didn’t make the pain go away. They actually exacerbated the pain. They just kicked the pain down the road a bit. And so now we’re finally starting to catch up with that pain.”</p>

Japanese Medical Association Urges: It’s Time to Greenlight Doctors to Prescribe Ivermectin

<p class="has-text-align-justify"><strong>The Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Association held an emergency press conference on 13 August 2021. The chairman, Dr. Haruo Ozaki, declared that ivermectin has demonstrated significant benefits in reducing Covid infections and deaths. He said, that while clinical trials were important, it was time to “greenlight” doctors to prescribe ivermectin in conjunction with giving patients informed consent.</strong></p>

<h4><strong>The story of ivermectin, the “Wonder drug” from Japan</strong></h4>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">There are few drugs that can lay claim to the title of ‘Wonder drug’.  Penicillin and aspirin are two that have perhaps had greatest beneficial impact on the health and wellbeing of mankind. But, <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3043740/?fbclid=IwAR1BZLjXUI36wrmNNx3TKT8Tv7fRSQZsmUl-IhvORU8akMK80sf4o8uBkwo">ivermectin can also be considered a “Wonder drug” based on its versatility, safety and the beneficial impact that it has had, and continues to have, worldwide</a>.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">Satoshi Ōmura, a Japanese researcher and expert in soil microbes at Kitasato University, cultured bacteria which produced substances that inhibited the growth of other microorganisms.  In 1978 he succeeded in culturing a strain from which William Campbell purified a substance, avermectin.  Avermectin in a chemically modified form is ivermectin.  Since then, ivermectin has had an immeasurably beneficial impact in improving the lives and welfare of billions of people throughout the world.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">It was discovered to be ideal in combating two of the world’s most devastating and disfiguring diseases – Onchocerciasis and Lymphatic Filariasis – which plagued the world’s poor throughout the tropics for centuries. By 2011 it was being used as the sole tool to eliminate both diseases globally. It has also been used to successfully overcome several other human diseases and new uses for it are continually being found.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">In 2014, Ōmura was awarded the <a href="https://www.who.int/tdr/news/2014/gairdner-global-health-award/en/">Gairdner Global Health award</a> for his role in the discovery and development of ivermectin.  And in 2015, <a href="https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/medicine/2015/press-release/">Campbell and Ōmura were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine</a> for discovering avermectin, “the derivatives of which had radically lowered the incidence of River Blindness and Lymphatic Filariasis, as well as showing efficacy against an expanding number of other parasitic diseases.”</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">In 2017, <a href="https://www.nature.com/articles/ja201711?fbclid=IwAR22gN4UvMvFneECZnvM9J70K_dGJQ8PwRBo7Z8jhfjqvihpgUOr4QkSa5c">ivermectin continued to surprise and exceed expectations</a>.  It was offering more and more promise to help improve global public health by treating a diverse range of diseases, with its unexpected potential as an antibacterial, antiviral and anti-cancer agent being particularly extraordinary.</p>
<p class="has-text-align-justify">Ivermectin has been for some time, and still is, on the <a href="https://list.essentialmeds.org/">World Health Organisation’s <em>Model List of Essential Medicines</em></a>.  A list which contains the medications considered to be most effective and safe to meet the most important needs in a health system.  WHO’s list is frequently used by countries to help develop their own local lists of essential medicines.</p>
