Fact Checkers Are the Ministry of Truth

Joe Rogan further addressed the campaign to have him booted off Spotify and silenced Tuesday, labelling it a “political hit job” and stating that he doesn’t believe he should “apologize for nonsense.”
Speaking with fellow comedian and podcaster Akaash Singh about out of context edited videos of his old shows online, Rogan stated “You know, in a lot of ways, like, all this is a relief, because it’s like, just because that that video it always been out there. It’s like, this is a political hit job.”
“And so they’re taking all this stuff that I’ve ever said that’s wrong and smoosh it all together, but it’s good because it makes me address some sh*t that I really wish wasn’t out there.”
Singh chimed in, “You can apologize if you say some wild sh*t and we’ve also had some wild sh*t and you apologize and own that is wrong. Good for you.”
“You should apologize if you regret something,” Rogan responded, adding “This idea that you should never apologize, like if you regret something, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with apologizing.”
However, he added the caveat “I do think you have to be very careful to not apologize for nonsense.”
Rogan also noted that “If you stay offline it’s just real life. You just have to stay offline. You just, life goes on as normal.”

Rogan’s comments come after <a href="https://summit.news/2022/02/08/trump-tells-joe-rogan-to-stop-apologizing/">President Trump said the podcaster should stop apologising.</a>
“How many ways can you say you’re sorry? Joe,” Trump wrote in a statement, adding “just go about what you do so well and don’t let them make you look weak and frightened. That’s not you and it never will be!”
In an interview with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ron-desantis-joe-rogan-controversies-distrust-media">Fox News</a> Florida governor Ron DeSantis also said Rogan should not have to apologise because the left is “out to destroy him.”
“No, he shouldn’t have apologized. I mean, you see what happens? The mob will come after people, and they’re targeting Rogan because he’s threatening to upset the apple cart on some of the things that they’re holding dear.” DeSantis said, urging Rogan “do not kowtow to the mob.”

In response to charges of racism against Rogan, conservative pundit, and former pro wrestler Tyrus delivered a powerful rant Tuesday, noting that he was at first pissed with Rogan after viewing the edited videos, but then quickly realised the entire debacle is an effort to create outrage to get Rogan silenced.
“Nobody cares what he said 12 years ago,” Tyrus roared, adding “Hell, you didn’t. Where were you then? I’ll wait for a response, but we know that will fall on deaf ears.”
“Maybe it’s time you stop using us African Americans to do your dirty work, and fight your battles,” he urged, adding “Now, I get it, you use your favorite little words to get us fired up: ‘racist, systemic, critical. And your new favorite word: misinformation. And that’ll get us fired up, we won’t even look at the facts or the whatnots, and we’ll just jump in and cancel away with you.”
Tyrus continued, “You were losing that conversation [about COVID], so you needed something else. And you went right to the good old Woke Playbook — but you went one too many times. How about this: fight Joe Rogan yourselves. Leave us out of it.”

Footage has emerged of the moment comedian Heather McDonald collapsed on-stage just moments after joking about getting vaxxed and boosted.
The incident <a href="https://www.infowars.com/posts/comedian-collapses-on-stage-after-telling-joke-about-booster-shot/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">happened</a> during a set at the Improv in Tempe, Arizona, on Saturday, with comedy fans in the audience believing the dramatic fall was all part of the act.
“I’m vaxxed, double vaxxed, boosted … and flu shot and I’m gonna be honest, I have the shingles shot, too. And – I still get my period, too! What? Yes!” McDonald bragged to the audience, which cheered and applauded.

“Traveled,” she continued, “Went to Mexico twice. Did shows, meet and greets. Never got Covid. Clearly, Jesus loves me most,” she jested, adding, “So nice. So nice.”
At this point, McDonald appeared to get woozy and began swaying from side to side before she abruptly collapsed on stage near her microphone stand.
McDonald was later transported to a hospital where doctors discovered she suffered a skull fracture.
In a video filmed from the hospital emergency room, McDonald admitted, “I’ve never, ever fainted in my life.”
The bizarre sudden loss of consciousness is merely one of numerous fainting spells caught on camera in the past few years, with many believing the experimental Covid-19 mRNA injection to be the cause.

Trudeau Says Vaccine Mandates Necessary to ‘Prevent Further Restrictions’ on Canadians’ Freedom

Embattled Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau argued that the draconian COVID vaccine and mask mandates are “necessary” to prevent “further restrictions” on the people.
“I think one of the things we all understand is just how frustrated everyone is. We’re all tired of restrictions, of mandates, of having to make sacrifices, of not being able to do the things we love,” Trudeau told reporters following his speech in the House of Commons <a href="https://www.infowars.com/posts/trudeau-gaslights-canadians-in-speech-condemning-trucker-convoy-protest/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">condemning the Freedom Convoy</a> occupying Ottawa and other cities.
“Canadians got vaccinated. I can understand frustrations with mandates but mandates are the way to avoid further restrictions…As Canadians get vaccinated, as Canadians have gotten vaccinated, we’ve been able to get through things. And this team is going to stay focused on doing exactly that.”
Trudeau did not elaborate on what “further restrictions” his administration would impose if Canadians don’t adhere to forced COVID inoculations, passports, and lockdowns.
Earlier in his speech condemning the convoy, Trudeau – without irony – said the Freedom Convoy was trying to “blockade our economy, our democracy, and our fellow citizens’ daily lives”, seemingly unaware of the damage lockdowns and vaccine mandates have been doing in Canada.

To the layperson, watching a short track speed skating race is awe-inspiring — but it’s also difficult to decipher the strategy guiding all the jostling around the rink. Behind the superhuman turns and sprints are calculated moves to control the pack and finish on the podium.
Apolo Ohno is probably being humble when he says he was not the fastest skater when he <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/video/2006-olympics-apolo-ohno-narrowly-wins-gold-torino">entered the 500m short track finals at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy</a>. But he makes that claim to emphasize the strategy — and the little bit of luck — that played into his gold medal win. That’s why he has always referred to that event as the “<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/08/sports/08iht-SPEED.1.20674728.html">perfect race</a>” in short track speed skating.

The manatees are starving

Heads of romaine lettuce might seem like empty calories for starving “sea cows” that weigh 1,000 pounds. But for Florida’s manatees, they’re just what the vet ordered.
In parts of eastern Florida, seagrass — the primary food source for these hulking marine mammals — is disappearing. So for the first time in history, state officials have started feeding manatees huge quantities of leafy greens. A single manatee can crunch its way through about <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2022/02/07/manatees-munch-lettuce-florida-power-plant-amid-struggling-numbers/6691108001/">100 pounds</a> of lettuce in a single day.
Last year, Florida lost a record <a href="https://myfwc.com/media/25428/preliminary.pdf">1,100</a> manatees, or more than 12 percent of its total population. And more than 130 manatees have died already in 2022, according to the nonprofit Save the Manatee Club, which is far above <a href="https://myfwc.com/media/28361/preliminary.pdf">average</a> for this time of year. The Florida manatee is a subspecies of the vulnerable West Indian manatee.
“It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before,” said Michael Walsh, a professor of aquatic animal health at the University of Florida. Manatee rehab centers across the state are now <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2022/01/23/saving-manatees-rescue-by-rescue-rehab-by-rehab/">overrun</a>, as more and more of the animals come in with visible signs of starvation — flat undersides, a loss of neck fat, and even exposed ribs, Walsh said.

Florida is running out of physical space to house manatees in need of care, Walsh added, forcing rehabbers to triage. And the stakes are high: Manatees are beloved in Florida and a linchpin of the ecotourism industry — and of the ecosystem itself.
The mass die-off of a cherished species that’s closely watched and meticulously cared for is a symptom of bigger problems that are plaguing many ocean environments: coastal development and pollution. More than a decade of human impacts has weakened the entire ecosystem, making manatees far more vulnerable to threats — starting with a plague of algae.
While manatees are famously rotund, they actually have relatively little body fat. They can only survive in water above about 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which is why you often find them in winter around sources of warm water, such as pipes that release discharge from power plants.
One such manatee hot spot is the Indian River Lagoon, which spans 156 miles between mainland Florida and a barrier island along the eastern shore. The lagoon is home to hundreds of animal species and several kinds of seagrass. They might not look like much, but meadows of seagrass are among the most important features in any coastal ecosystem. They prevent erosion, clean the water, and provide shelter for fish that are <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/06/us/butterfly-center-texas.html">a crucial part</a> of the state economy. And for a wide range of animals, including manatees, they’re food.
Algae pose a problem because seagrasses need sunlight to grow. Fed by nutrients in pollution, such as septic discharge and farm runoff, algae can become so abundant that they actually block light from reaching the lagoon’s floor. When the seagrass dies, it can become yet another nutrient that fuels the algae.

Parts of the Indian River Lagoon, where hundreds of manatees congregate to ride out the winter, are now choked with pollution and algae, which means seagrass can’t grow and manatees can’t eat. “Tens of thousands of acres of normal grass are missing,” Walsh said. The animals can’t easily escape to richer, grassier pastures because it’s chilly outside the lagoon. “They are hemmed in by an invisible fence of cold.”
The state now faces a record die-off so severe that it’s been <a href="https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/national/marine-life-distress/active-and-closed-unusual-mortality-events">dubbed</a> an “unusual mortality event,” a rare designation that calls for immediate attention under the federal Marine Mammal Protection Act. The starvation-related deaths are on top of a smaller number of deaths attributed to <a href="https://www.vox.com/2021/8/4/22606025/florida-red-tide-dead-fish-beach-algae-bloom">a related algae problem</a>, known as red tide, and boating accidents.
Ecosystems don’t usually fall apart all at once. The damage builds gradually, often without anyone noticing, and may eventually reach some kind of tipping point, said Patrick Rose, executive director of Save the Manatee Club.
There wasn’t some big chemical spill in the Indian River Lagoon, Rose said, but rather slow and steady pollution that accumulated in these waters for at least a decade, throwing the ecosystem out of whack and making it more prone to blooms of algae. In 2011, for example, a “<a href="https://www.tampabay.com/news/environment/wildlife/manatee-die-off-in-polluted-indian-river-lagoon-begins-anew/2285304/">superbloom</a>” of algae erupted in the lagoon, covering roughly <a href="https://www.tcpalm.com/news/algae-bloom-threatens-indian-river-lagoon-seagrass-with-implications-for-treasure-coast-ep-382192223-343087722.html?page=1">131,000</a> acres and nearly wiping out its seagrass.
The grass started to recover — until the lagoon was struck by yet another bloom a few years later. By 2017, a staggering <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0025326X21009620?via%3Dihub">95 percent</a> of seagrass had disappeared in the northern and central portions of the lagoon, and it hasn’t recovered much since.

Healthy ecosystems can bounce back from occasional disturbances like an exceptionally cold winter, said Duane De Freese, executive director of the Indian River Lagoon Council. But when they’re damaged, they become volatile and less resilient, and even seemingly minor changes can cause dramatic effects. “The system today is unstable,” De Freese said. “Our oceans and our estuaries can’t take every pressure and stressor that we throw at them.”
“If you’re a coastal community anywhere in the US, you’re fighting the same battle we are,” De Freese said. Indeed, blooms of algae linked to pollution have damaged ecosystems and economies from the <a href="https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/05/150511125219.htm">Chesapeake Bay</a> in Maryland to the <a href="https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/article/massive-dead-zone-predicted-to-be-one-of-largest-gulf-of-mexico">Gulf of Mexico</a>. “We’re just an example of things starting to go wrong,” De Freese said.
State officials in Florida plan to feed manatees <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2022/02/07/manatees-munch-lettuce-florida-power-plant-amid-struggling-numbers/6691108001/">through March</a>, but lettuce is not exactly a long-term solution. Ultimately, experts told Vox, the state has to reduce the amount of pollution flowing into its coastal waters.
The problem is “fixable,” Walsh said. What’s so frustrating, experts say, is that many manatee deaths could have been avoided altogether.

The main source of pollution is a few hundred thousand septic systems from nearby homes and businesses, which leak nutrients like nitrogen into the lagoon, according to a <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0025326X21009620?via%3Dihub">recent study</a> published in the journal Marine Pollution Bulletin. The region urgently needs to modernize its wastewater treatment facilities, De Freese said. He added that Florida also needs a better way to treat stormwater runoff that sloshes into the lagoon along with pollution.
Planting seagrass can help, too. It’s not easy or cheap, but reintroducing native grasses in coastal waters can speed up the ecosystem’s recovery, in part by helping purify the water. Companies like Sea and Shoreline grow seagrasses in a nursery for restoration, not unlike organizations that raise seedlings to restore forests on land.
The lagoon needs about $5 billion for restoration over the next two decades, De Freese said, to make it livable again for manatees and other important species. Last fall, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis committed <a href="https://www.orlandosentinel.com/politics/os-ne-desantis-press-conference-brevard-county-20210924-dqqhxsz5i5a2ncgvzoexdfm2ea-story.html">$53 million</a> in grants to improve the lagoon’s water quality. “It’s a start,” De Freese said — though he warned that even with enough money, “the recovery isn’t going to happen overnight.”
Residents who want to help can also play a role, he added, such as by limiting the use of lawn fertilizers or avoiding them entirely. One thing they shouldn’t do, state officials have <a href="https://myfwc.com/research/manatee/rescue-mortality-response/ume/faq/">said</a>, is feed the manatees themselves. They may be learning to like lettuce, but leave the sea cow salad bar to the professionals.

Arrest People Who Laugh at Offensive Jokes

CNN’s resident creepy clown Brian Stelter declared Monday that Joe Rogan does not have the credibility that the cable news network does, and that its a big “problem” that more people trust “talk show stars” rather than “real newsrooms.”
Responding to <a href="https://summit.news/2022/01/31/video-joe-rogan-addresses-spotify-hate-train/">Rogan’s rebuttal</a> to his critics, Stelter spoke with Kate Bolduan, another CNN host (note how the CNN hosts always act as their own guests).
Stelter questioned what has taken Spotify so long to fall into line with other tech platforms that have been actively censoring anyone who doesn’t parrot the establishment narrative for years now.
“Basically [Spotify is] doing what Twitter and Facebook and other platforms did two years ago. This is nothing original, nothing novel, they are belatedly responding to the pressure from artists and subscribers,” Stelter declared.
He then proclaimed that “not all opinions are created equal,” adding “You think about major newsrooms like CNN that have health departments and desks and operations that work hard on verifying information on COVID-19. And then you have talk show stars like Joe Rogan who just wing it, who make it up as they go along.”
Stelter continued, “because figures like Rogan are trusted by people who don’t trust real newsrooms, we have a tension, a problem that’s much bigger than Spotify, much bigger than any single platform… that’s what’s at the heart of this right now.”

The idea that this fool has any credibility whatsoever is laughable.
Rogan, who <a href="https://summit.news/2021/09/08/video-joe-rogan-says-he-may-sue-cnn-for-making-sht-up-about-him-taking-horse-dewormer/">found himself on the end of CNN slander</a> last year over his use of Ivermectin to recover from COVID, has <a href="https://summit.news/2022/01/10/joe-rogan-slams-yellow-journalism-of-cnn-accuses-network-of-altering-footage-of-him/">repeatedly pointed out</a> how utterly devoid of credibility CNN has become, <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/01/12/cnn-sees-ratings-dive-by-90-from-2021-coverage/">losing 90 percent of its viewership</a> in 2021 alone, <a href="https://summit.news/2021/12/07/video-joe-rogan-blasts-cnn-as-f-ing-propagandists-their-ratings-are-dogs/">becoming ‘propagandists’</a> and the “right arm of Pfizer.”
Rogan previously <a href="https://summit.news/2021/06/18/video-joe-rogan-slams-fing-terrible-cnn-hosts-everybody-knows-theyre-not-real/">tore into Stelter and another fake broadcaster at CNN, Don Lemon</a>, declaring “the market has spoken and your show[s are] fucking terrible.”
“Everyone knows they’re not real. They’re not real humans,” Rogan asserted at the time.
New York Times correspondent Matthew Rosenberg raised a pertinent point Monday that Stelter should probably take into account:
