Germany’s CDU Considers Dropping ‘Christian’ From Name to Appeal to More Diverse Demographic

<p><strong>Citing sources within the Democratic Party, Andrew Yang says it’s now unlikely that Joe Biden will run again for president in 2024 and that donors are sitting back waiting for a better candidate to emerge.</strong></p>
<p>Yang ran a surprising campaign in 2020 that turned him into a major player, leading to his participation in seven of the first eight Democratic debates.</p>
<p>Now the former attorney is predicting that Joe Biden will have to drop out before the next presidential election.</p>
<p>Yang explained how he originally thought Democrats would run Biden to “avoid a fractious primary,” but has since changed his mind.</p>
<p>In addition to Biden’s political agenda stalling, according to Yang, donors are starting to get cold feet.</p>
<p>“There has been increasing unease from large DNC donors,” wrote Yang. “One donor told me that several funders were openly talking about sitting out the next cycle until they knew what/who they were backing.”</p>

<p>“Another suggested that donors were trying to figure out who to coalesce around as a new candidate in 2024,” he added. “If donors are talking this way, they certainly have multiple candidates in-waiting who are thinking this way.”</p>
<p>Yang also revealed that he has “heard from at least a couple of people who are considering mounting a challenge.”</p>
<p>“As the sense deepens that Joe may not run for a 2nd term, people are beginning to prepare their own runs for 2024,” wrote Yang.</p>
<p>The urgency to find a new candidate has increased now that “Trump is so clearly the Republican frontrunner,” according to Yang, who also notes that there is likely to be a strong 3rd party candidate.</p>
<p>Biden’s suitability for a second term took another blow this week when he stumbled his way through a <a href="https://summit.news/2022/01/20/cnn-scrambles-to-explain-away-joe-biden-saying-2022-midterms-could-be-illegitimate/">car crash</a> of a press conference.</p>
<p>With <a href="https://summit.news/2022/01/20/former-white-house-physician-demands-biden-take-cognitive-test-after-weird-presser-breakdown/">questions already swirling</a> as to the president’s cognitive decline, how is he going to perform in the debates in over two and a half years’ time?</p>
<p>Biden’s approval rating also recently <a href="https://summit.news/2022/01/13/bidens-approval-rating-drops-to-new-record-low/">sunk</a> to a new record low as his inability to deal with runaway inflation bites into his poll numbers.</p>
<p>Democrats are so devoid of a viable candidate that there’s even talk Hillary Clinton could throw her hat in the ring for a potential re-run of her 2016 tussle with Trump.</p>
<p>Yes, they’re that desperate.</p>

MSNBC Says “Cancel Culture Is Out Of Hand” Over Whoopi Goldberg, While Demanding Rogan’s Excommunication

<p><strong>It appears MSNBC, the “news network” that told its viewers the “Let’s Go Brandon!” meme was part of <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/watch-msnbc-host-claims-phrase-lets-go-brandon-part-slow-moving-insurrection">a “slow-moving insurrection”</a> among other egregious examples of liberal fearmongering, is now suddenly convinced that “cancel culture” is toxic and needs to be “put behind us” – all because poor Whoopi Goldberg has now seen her multi-decade career blow up in her face over her latest antisemitic comments.</strong></p>
<p>After apologizing for her allegedly “antisemitic” comments, Goldberg – who picked her stage name supposedly because she thought having a Jewish-sounding name would help her land more auditions early in her career – doubled down during an appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/whoopi-goldberg-suspended-view-after-doubling-down-holocaust-comments">resulting in her being suspended from “The View”.</a></p>
<p>Apparently, Goldberg facing the consequences of her own actions was too much to bear for poor Mika Brzezinski, the co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”.</p>

<p>“Everybody knows Whoopi Goldberg. She’s been on TV for decades she’s been putting herself out there for decades. If you don’t know her heart than you haven’t been watching. <strong>So maybe this two week suspension is really about something else…something that maybe we need to start putting behind us which is this unbelievable need to punish and judge people </strong>when they have made a mistake.”</p>

<p>Brzezinski went on to describe – supposedly from experience – the “horror” of being a public person who has said something unpalatable about race in America. <em><strong>“It’s horrifying…it’s chilling,” she said, before continuing:</strong></em></p>

<p>“I really feel, especially at the View, where their show is based on arguments, is based on debates, is based on making moments, they are pushed to do that. I hope there’s learning for everybody on the show…in terms of grace, in terms of forgiveness, in terms of kindness.”</p>
<p><strong>“There were so many positives that could have happened out of this debate..”</strong></p>
<p><strong>“This cancel culture is getting so out of hand…there were so many positives that could have come out of this debate…instead it’s heading in a totally different direction.”</strong></p>

<p>So, after six years of pushing its hosts to portray President Trump and his supporters as a band of evil malignant racists, MSNBC suddenly wants to have a “nuanced discussion” about race?</p>
<p>And that’s not the only development overnight in the latest round of cancel-culture hysteria gripping the US.</p>
<p>Apparently, Joe Rogan’s apology and <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/spotify-says-rogan-malone-interview-did-not-violate-policies-will-add-content-advisory">Spotify’s decision</a> to affix content warning labels to future podcast episodes weren’t enough to stop the exodus of artists cutting ties with the streaming service in protest.</p>
<p>As the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-60227540">BBC reports</a>, soul musician India Arie and British singer-songwriter Graham Nash have become the latest artists to ask Spotify to remove their music. Nash is perhaps well known for his collaboration with Neil Young – who set off the controversy by becoming the first popular musician to pull his music catalogue from the streaming service by declaring “Spotify can have Neil Young or it can have Joe Rogan. Not both.” Arie, meanwhile, is a grammy-winning Soul musician.</p>
<p>Their decisions follow similar moves by Young and <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/irresponsible-people-are-spreading-lies-joni-mitchell-removes-music-spotify-solidarity">fellow Canadian troubadour Joni Mitchell.</a></p>
<p>What’s more, Arie said her decision to pull out wasn’t based solely on Rogan’s interviews with Dr. Robert Malone and Dr. Peter McCollough,<strong> it was also partly due to Rogan’s “language around race”.</strong></p>
<p>All of this is happening despite Rogan publishing what was by all accounts a detailed, sincere and thoughtful apology to the people he had “offended” while also explaining why he feels it’s important that their views be heard.</p>
<p>Spotify has announced it will add advisory warnings to podcasts discussing Covid-19, which will direct listeners to facts and information as well as “trusted sources”. But despite this, during yesterday’s White House press conference, Press Secretary Jen Psaki insisted that “more can be done” by Spotify to “curb misinformation” on its platform.</p>
<p>“Our hope is that<strong> all major tech platforms and all major news sources for that matter be responsible and be vigilant to ensure the American people have access to accurate information</strong> as something as significant as COVID-19. That includes….Spotify,” she added, mispronouncing Spotify as “Spotifly”.</p>

<p>“This disclaimer, it’s a positive step <strong>but we want every platform to do more to call out misinformation or disinformation while also doing more to uplift positive information.”</strong></p>
</blockquote>
<p>The question came into a response from an MSN reporter who noted that the bulk of “misinformation” is spread on “the Internet” via social media…which also happens to be where people generally get their news and entertainment today.</p>
<p>What kind of “misinformation” is she talking about?<em> You mean that kind that’s deemed unpalatable by – or damaging to – her boss?</em></p>

Ottawa City Council Demands ‘Pipeline of Funding’ Be Cut Off For Trucker ‘Mercenaries’

<p><strong>The Ottawa City Council is struggling to cope with the Freedom Convoy that’s been occupying the city for the last several days.</strong></p>
<p>City council member Diane Deans in a Zoom meeting called the truckers “mercenaries” and demanded that GoFundMe, under threat of legal action, cut off the “pipeline of funding” to the Freedom Convoy.</p>
<p>“We need to cut off the pipeline of funding to these…mercenaries that are unlawfully protesting and occupying our communities,” Deans said.</p>

<p>“I want to ask the mayor if he will pick up the phone and call GoFundMe in the states directly and demand that they cease and desist sending money to these unlawful protesters,” Deans continued, adding that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should “do the same.”</p>
<p>“We’ve had some conversations about perhaps suing GoFundMe, but legal action takes time and this is urgent,” she added.</p>
<p>The shamefulness of Dean’s incendiary rhetoric of calling the truckers “mercenaries” cannot be overstated.</p>
<p>Deans, by definition, just called the peaceful protesters – her own constituents – professional soldiers hired by a foreign enemy.</p>

<p>This comes just days after Ottawa City Councillor Mathieu Fleury called for the city to <a href="https://www.infowars.com/posts/ottawa-city-councillor-requests-lawsuit-to-seize-freedom-convoys-gofundme-funds/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">launch court proceedings</a> against GoFundMe for allowing the Freedom Convoy page to continue receiving donations.</p>
<p>The Freedom Convoy, with over $10 million in funding raised, is showing no signs of leaving Ottawa anytime soon, and PM Trudeau is still MIA after having fled the capital last weekend.</p>

<p><strong>The Canadian trucker convoy protesters making headlines worldwide are hoping to achieve their first victory as Alberta politicians will soon meet with members of a group blocking the Montana/Alberta border.</strong></p>
<p>Video taken by <em>Rebel News</em> reporter Kian Simone shows the demonstrators voting to open one lane of traffic across the border in exchange for the dropping of all rural Alberta mandates and vaccine passports.</p>
<p>Posting the footage online, Simone writes, “Rural MLAs are meeting at 2pm to discuss lifting ALL mandates, in rural Alberta. That’s if the truckers open a lane to the border. The truckers will be opening one lane, on standby to make sure the MLAs keep their word, they will shut it back down if not.”</p>
<p>“If they do not meet our requests, then that border is shut down immediately,” one of the group’s leaders assured the others.</p>

<p>Hoping to show the politicians that they want to work with them in ending the blockade, the truckers opened a lane at the border in good faith that the mandates will be lifted.</p>

<p>Attorney Chad Williamson, who is defending the truckers, called the update “extremely positive.”</p>

<p>Another interesting development in the Canadian trucker convoy saga came when <em>Rebel News</em> captured police providing an alternative account of an alleged assault on an officer.</p>
<p>On Tuesday, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney claimed protesters “assaulted law enforcement officers.”</p>
<p>However, police confirmed the “assault” Kenney was referring to was actually between two citizens who got into a car wreck.</p>
