The reason why the authorities are so desperate to make sure every man, woman, and child gets the Covid-19 Vaccine

Have you ever wondered why the authorities are so desperate to make sure every man, woman, and child gets the Covid-19 vaccine? The answer is obvious when you think about it. They can’t have a “control group” of unvaccinated people, because if there is then it will become abundantly clear that the Covid-19 injections don’t work, cause severe injuries, and kill people.
With more doctors, scientists, nurses and health care workers waking up and blowing the whistle every day, the authorities are now in a mass panic to make sure as many people as possible are given the injection before they catch on to the fact that they have been played.
In truth though the game is up in regards to creating the illusion that the injections actually work, and this is where the alleged Covid-19 variants come in to play in order for the authorities to save face and blame the new variants for the current experimental injections inadequacy.
The <a href="https://archive.fo/SsDD6">New York Times ran an article on the 19th August 2021</a> entitled, “Israel, Once the Model for Beating Covid, Faces New Surge of Infections.”
The article openly admits that the Covid-19 injections given to 2.5 billion people around the world no longer work very well, and that the people who took those vaccines are now the ones getting sick and dying.

One of the most vaccinated societies, Israel now has one of the highest infection rates in the world, raising questions about the vaccine’s efficacy.
A fourth wave of infections is rapidly approaching the levels of Israel’s worst days of the pandemic last winter. The daily rate of confirmed new virus cases has more than doubled in the last two weeks, making Israel a rising hot spot on the international charts.
The vast majority of Israel’s older population had received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine by the end of February, and by now about 78 percent of the population 12 and older are fully vaccinated.
But some experts fear that Israel’s high rate of infections among early vaccine recipients may indicate a waning of the vaccine’s protections over time, a finding that contributed to a U.S. decision Wednesday to begin offering booster shots to Americans starting next month.
And among the fully inoculated, Israeli scientists have found growing evidence of waning immunity, particularly among the older population who were vaccinated first.
Data published by Israel’s Ministry of Health in late July suggested that the Pfizer shot was just 39 percent effective against preventing infection in the country in late June and early July, compared with 95 percent from January to early April… this scourge primarily took hold in well-vaccinated, middle-class suburbs.
It’s clear to see that the narrative on the Covid-19 injections being the only route back to normal has now collapsed. The same is also happening in the United Kingdom, and the official data seems to show that the Covid-19 injections increase the risk of both hospitalisation and death due to Covid-19 rather than reducing it.
<a href="https://dailyexpose.co.uk/2021/08/18/fully-vaccinated-account-for-73-of-recent-covid-19-deaths-and-data-shows-fully-vaccinated-are-over-5-times-more-likely-to-die-if-infected-with-covid-19/">Public Health Scotland data</a> shows that the fully vaccinated account for 73% of alleged Covid-19 deaths and that the fully vaccinated are suffering a five times higher death rate than the unvaccinated. Whilst <a href="https://dailyexpose.co.uk/2021/08/20/latest-public-health-england-report-reveals-the-covid-jabs-dont-work-as-the-fully-vaccinated-account-for-21-percent-of-covid-infections-but-58-percent-of-all-deaths/">Public Health England data</a> shows that the fully vaccinated account for 58% of alleged Covid-19 deaths; 68% when you include the partly vaccinated, and are suffering a 3 times higher death rate than the unvaccinated.

This Covid-19 injections are clearly accelerating sickness and death and it’s the middle of summer. Therefore it’s quite possible that the largest wave of hospitalisations and deaths on record could be suffered this coming winter throughout the most vaccinated countries.
But the people of the world do seem to be awakening to the astonishing truth of all this. As the lockdowns intensify, the people are taking to the streets and demanding an end to the dictatorial medical tyranny that has infected the western world. Hundreds of thousands are taking to the streets of France almost daily in opposition to the vaccine passport system imposed by the president Emmanuel Macron.
A system which has seen hypermarkets in France <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://summit.news/2021/08/19/video-shows-angry-french-shoppers-being-blocked-from-entering-supermarket-because-they-dont-have-covid-passports/" target="_blank">refusing entry to the unvaccinated</a> who want to buy essential food and drink. This will only serve to wake up the people even faster, adding to the levels of discontent that are now exploding across the planet.
Australians have also started to fight back against the ridiculous laws imposed in the name of public health which include a curfew, not being allowed outside unless it is to exercise, the closure of all parks, requiring a permit to leave home and go to work, and the military setting up checkpoints to ensure people do not venture more than 5km from their home.
But when they did fight back they were met with pepper spray and rubber bullets, proving this has nothing to do with public health but everything to do with control.
We seem to have arrived at a tipping point. Humanity is awakening at an accelerating rate, and the authorities know it. Which is why the next few months could quite possibly be the most challenging throughout this entire alleged pandemic.

Biden backs school districts in fight against GOP mask mandate bans

The 2021-22 school year is here, and with the US once more facing an <a href="https://twitter.com/ryanstruyk/status/1429072359517048836?s=20">out-of-control surge of Covid-19 cases</a>, the fight over public health measures in schools is reaching a fever pitch as K-12 students head back into classrooms.
Republicans in at least <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/18/biden-education-governors-state-mask-bans-506070">eight states</a> are taking a hard line against classroom mask requirements, contrary to <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-guidance.html">federal public health guidance</a> — and increasingly, individual school districts, with the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/18/us/politics/biden-masks-schools-civil-rights.html">support</a> of the Biden administration, are moving to mandate masks anyway to protect their students.
In Texas and Florida, the two largest states to block school mask mandates outright, the school year has already gotten off to a <a href="https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/education/2021/08/19/3-400-palm-beach-county-kids-sent-home-covid-exposure/8192164002/">bad start</a>. More and more students and teachers in both states are testing positive for the virus, and some school districts have been forced to shut down entirely.
Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah have all prohibited mask mandates in schools, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/18/biden-education-governors-state-mask-bans-506070">according to Politico</a>, though in Texas that ban is currently not in effect <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/08/20/texas-court-masks-schools-abbott/">pending further litigation</a>.
In Florida, where Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis last month issued a <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/florida-gov-desantis-issue-order-giving-parents-choice-mask-children-school-2021-07-30/">blanket ban</a> on mask mandates imposed by school districts in the name of “parents’ freedom to choose,” teenagers and children under 12 are now testing positive for the virus at a higher rater than any other group, <a href="https://www.tampabay.com/news/health/2021/08/20/floridas-covid-deaths-climb-as-kids-lead-state-in-positivity-rate/">according to the Tampa Bay Times</a>.
Overall, the state has seen one of the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/us/florida-covid-cases.html">worst Covid resurgences</a> in the country. Over the past week, Florida has reported an average of about 21,500 cases per day — more than it did during the worst of the pandemic in January.
<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2021/08/17/florida-students-covid-quarantine-hillsborough/">Thousands</a> of Florida students have been sent home because of possible Covid exposure, disrupting the school year almost before it begins. In places like Palm Beach County, as many as one in 50 students are currently under stay-at-home orders, the Palm Beach Post <a href="https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/education/2021/08/19/3-400-palm-beach-county-kids-sent-home-covid-exposure/8192164002/">reported</a> on Friday.
<a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/children-hospitalized-with-covid-19-us-hits-record-number-2021-08-14/">Pediatric hospitalizations</a> from the virus are also climbing, even as ICU wards around the state <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/joewalsh/2021/08/19/these-6-states-have-almost-no-icu-beds-left-as-covid-hospitalizations-soar/?sh=7c0057376bb5">approach capacity</a> amid Florida’s <a href="https://www.vox.com/22547537/delta-coronavirus-variant-covid-19-vaccines-masks-lockdown">delta variant</a>-fueled surge — and the worst may be yet to come, since Florida’s most populous county, Miami-Dade, won’t even <a href="https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/schools-and-covid/miami-dade-county-public-schools-approve-mask-mandate-for-upcoming-year/2532236/">resume classes</a> until next week.
Things in Texas are looking equally dire: Republican Gov. Greg Abbott <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/31/world/greg-abbott-mask-vaccine-mandate.html">banned mask and vaccination mandates</a> in July, and as of this month, Covid outbreaks have <a href="https://apnews.com/article/health-texas-education-coronavirus-pandemic-8e78f68e2c0f118a3cc0c7cc68ff28cc">temporarily shuttered</a> at least four Texas school districts, while cases are <a href="https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/COVID-cases-rise-as-school-districts-across-16401520.php">soaring</a> among students as the virus runs rampant throughout the state.
Abbott, who is fully vaccinated and has also received a booster shot, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/texas-gov-greg-abbott-tests-positive-covid-n1277021">tested positive</a> for a breakthrough case of Covid-19 on Tuesday, and Texas had <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/19/us/texas-covid-icu-beds-mask-mandate/index.html">more pediatric hospitalizations</a> from Covid than any other state in the US as of earlier this week.
In several states, school districts are ignoring their governors to implement mask mandates anyway, despite the threat of sanctions and lawsuits.
At least five school districts in Florida — those in Alachua, Broward, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties — <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/education/article253598398.html">have done so</a> as of this week.
And at least eight counties in Texas have done likewise, <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2021/08/18/greg-abbott-joe-biden-texas-mask-mandates/">according to the Texas Tribune</a>. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, has <a href="https://apnews.com/article/health-coronavirus-pandemic-b8abb5fce7c9cf5c1586f412af1243f0">promised to sue</a> any entity that requires masks contrary to Abbott’s order banning such mandates, but has yet to do so.
“Yesterday I spoke with a mother of a child who died. Over the week, I’ve spoken with employees and their relatives, begging me to do the right thing,” Miami-Dade public schools superintendent Alberto Carvalho, whose school district is now requiring masks in schools, <a href="https://www.tampabay.com/news/education/2021/08/18/miami-dade-schools-superintendent-says-district-will-do-the-right-thing-on-masks/">said this week</a>. “I will do all that I can to do that.”
Currently, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-guidance.html">guidance</a> “recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status” because of the delta variant, which is <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/delta-variant.html">highly transmissible</a> and may also result in more severe illness among unvaccinated people.
<a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/masking-science-sars-cov2.html">Studies indicate</a> that masks not only make a difference in limiting Covid-19 transmission by “asymptomatic or presymptomatic” individuals, but provide protection for uninfected people who are exposed to “respiratory droplets” from people who are sick with the virus.
And their importance is particularly pronounced for unvaccinated people — such as students younger than 12, who are not <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/08/18/1027035486/covid-vaccine-children-under-12-your-questions-answered">currently eligible</a> to receive a Covid-19 vaccine.
As Vox’s Anna North <a href="https://www.vox.com/22609711/school-covid-cdc-2021-fall-reopening">reported</a> earlier this month,

However, DeSantis, who has made his opposition to public health measures like mask and vaccine mandates <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/11/biden-desantis-florida-covid-surge-504064">core to his national political profile</a>, has threatened that the state board of education could <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/09/us/florida-desantis-school-mask-mandates/index.html">withhold the salaries</a> of public school officials who don’t go along with his ban on mask mandates.

In response, President Joe Biden <a href="https://twitter.com/POTUS/status/1428831054794829830?s=20">announced</a> Wednesday as part of a larger push to support school districts that require masks in classrooms that funds from the <a href="https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2021/3/10/22320350/biden-sign-stimulus-bill-covid-19">American Rescue Plan</a> — the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill that Democrats passed earlier this year — could be used to “backfill” any salaries withheld by the Florida board of education.
“As I’ve said before, if you aren’t going to fight COVID-19, at least get out of the way of everyone else who is trying,” Biden <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2021/08/18/remarks-by-president-biden-on-fighting-the-covid-19-pandemic-2/">said</a>. “You know, we’re not going to sit by as governors try to block and intimidate educators protecting our children.”
In addition to backfilling salaries, Biden’s secretary of education, former public school teacher and administrator Miguel Cardona, said this week in a <a href="https://blog.ed.gov/2021/08/meeting-the-presidents-call-to-support-the-safe-and-sustained-reopening-of-schools/">blog post</a> that the department could use its civil rights authority to support mask requirements, citing “students who may experience discrimination as a result of states not allowing local school districts to reduce virus transmission risk through masking requirements and other mitigation measures.”
“Let me reiterate,” Cardona said in a Friday <a href="https://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/secretary-cardona-tells-alachua-and-broward-county-school-districts-we-stand-you">statement</a>. “We stand ready to assist any district facing repercussions for imposing CDC-recommended COVID-19 prevention strategies that will protect the health and safety of students, educators, and staff.”
While Abbott, DeSantis, and other GOP governors have successfully launched school mask requirements as a national controversy — to the point that teachers have been <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/08/18/eanis-texas-covid-schools-mask-teacher/">physically</a> <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2021/08/13/california-mask-fight-school/">assaulted</a> by anti-mask parents in several cases — mandates actually have broad support in the US, according to several recent polls.
<a href="https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/poll-finding/kff-covid-19-vaccine-monitor-parents-and-the-pandemic/">According to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll</a>, almost two thirds of parents support schools requiring masks for unvaccinated students and staff, though results split sharply along partisan lines.
Additionally, an <a href="https://www.axios.com/axios-ipsos-poll-mandates-masks-vaccinations-f0f105a7-3c2e-4953-aac9-f25516128b11.html">Axios-Ipsos poll</a> released Wednesday found 69 percent of American adults support school mask mandates, and almost as many — 66 percent — oppose Texas-style laws prohibiting local mask mandates.
Even vaccine mandates had majority support in the Axios-Ipsos poll, with 55 percent of adults saying they would support their employers requiring vaccinations. Separately, a <a href="https://apnews.com/article/lifestyle-business-health-travel-coronavirus-pandemic-27bf20514cd3da917c54bf71a41f2e8e">poll from the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research</a> released Friday also found majority support for vaccine mandates to attend “crowded public events,” eat at restaurants, or fly.
Such measures haven’t yet become widespread in the US — only 16 percent of adults told Axios and Ipsos that their workplaces require them to get vaccinated, for example — but there are signs they are picking up momentum.
Already, Biden has said that <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/28/us/politics/biden-federal-workers-vaccination.html">civilian federal employees</a> must either be vaccinated or submit to frequent Covid tests, and the Pentagon is expected to require <a href="https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-vaccine-us-military-requirement-pentagon-3975940c732352f72e41f6e34a3a2669">service members</a> to get vaccinated starting next month, if not sooner.
Several states, including <a href="https://www.sacbee.com/news/coronavirus/article253030383.html">California</a>, <a href="https://www.npr.org/2021/07/28/1021770181/andrew-cuumo-new-york-state-workers-coronavirus-vaccine-mandate">New York</a> and <a href="https://medium.com/wagovernor/inslee-announces-vaccination-requirement-for-most-state-employees-private-health-care-and-7c765161cbb6">Washington</a>, also put similar requirements in place for state employees, and <a href="https://apnews.com/article/health-education-california-coronavirus-pandemic-7699f4496101d261ac94ed22e7544417">California</a>, <a href="https://www.oregonlive.com/education/2021/08/oregon-will-require-vaccination-for-all-teachers.html">Oregon</a>, and <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/08/18/world/covid-delta-variant-vaccine?action=click&pgtype=Article&module=&state=default&region=header&context=breakout_link_back_to_briefing">Washington</a> all imposed a new vaccine mandate on teachers this month.
“This virus is increasingly impacting young people, and those under the age of 12 still can’t get the vaccine for themselves,” Washington state Governor Jay Inslee said at a <a href="https://medium.com/wagovernor/inslee-announces-educator-vaccination-requirement-and-statewide-indoor-mask-mandate-3da2ada64951">news conference</a> on Wednesday. “We won’t gamble with the health of our children, our educators and school staff, nor the health of the communities they serve.”
As vaccine mandates begin to gain traction in the US, the country is also reporting the highest number of new infections and hospitalizations since February 2021.
This week, the US reported more than 1 million cases in a seven-day stretch for the first time since February 2, <a href="https://twitter.com/ryanstruyk/status/1429072359517048836?s=20">according to CNN’s Ryan Struyk</a>, and the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/us/covid-cases.html">rolling seven-day case average</a> is closing in on 146,000 new cases per day.

The South has been particularly hard-hit, with Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee reporting <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/us/covid-cases.html">more new cases</a> per 100,000 people than any other state, and the surge has been fueled by the delta variant, which now makes up about 98.8 percent of all Covid cases in the US, <a href="https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#variant-proportions">according to the CDC</a>.
The severity of the outbreak, however, may also be boosting vaccine uptake in the US: <a href="https://twitter.com/cyrusshahpar46/status/1429093553448259587?s=20">According to White House Covid-19 data director Cyrus Shapar</a>, the US administered more than 1 million shots for the third day in a row on Saturday, the first time it has done so in more than two months.

There’s also more good news coming on the vaccination front: The Food and Drug Administration is set to issue a full approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine as early <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/20/us/politics/fda-pfizer-covid-vaccine-full-approval.html">as Monday</a>, more than eight months after it was first approved for use under an <a href="https://www.vox.com/22167841/fda-vaccine-approval-pfizer-biontech-covid-19-eua-coronavirus">emergency use authorization</a>.
<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/20/us/politics/fda-pfizer-covid-vaccine-full-approval.html">According to the New York Times</a>, “the approval is expected to pave the way for a series of vaccination requirements by public and private organizations who were awaiting final regulatory action before putting in effect mandates,” including the Pentagon.
It could also be a boon for vaccine confidence in the US: About three in 10 unvaccinated people, <a href="https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/perspective/how-full-fda-authorization-could-spur-vaccination/">according to the Kaiser Family Foundation</a>, say they would be “more likely to get vaccinated if the FDA moved vaccines from emergency use to full approval.”
The Pfizer vaccine is by far the <a href="https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations_vacc-total-admin-rate-total">most common</a> in the US: More than 203 million doses have been administered, according to the CDC, versus 142 million doses of the Moderna vaccine and just 14 million of the Johnson & Johnson shot.
In addition to being the first Covid-19 vaccine to receive an EUA and (likely) the first to receive full FDA approval, the Pfizer vaccine could also be the first shot authorized for children younger than 12.
Clinical trials for both mRNA vaccines — Moderna and Pfizer — are currently underway in the US, and Pfizer’s chief scientific officer for viral vaccines, Dr. Phil Dormitzer, <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/08/18/1027035486/covid-vaccine-children-under-12-your-questions-answered">told NPR</a> this week that “we’re hoping to have authorization” for children ages 5 through 11 “not too long after the school year starts,” with an EUA for children younger than 5 coming shortly after that.
An EUA could make a big difference as the pandemic wears on, especially as school starts up again. The US reported a record 1,902 children hospitalized from Covid-19 last week, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/children-hospitalized-with-covid-19-us-hits-record-number-2021-08-14/">according to Reuters</a>, and high levels of Covid-19 transmission throughout the country mean that the unvaccinated — including young children — are particularly vulnerable.
From August 5 through August 12, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the US reported 121,427 Covid-19 cases among children, or about 18 percent of the total number of US cases over that span.
With a vaccine authorization likely still weeks or months away, however, officials are urging adults and teenagers who are still unvaccinated to get their shot — to protect themselves, and their community.
“When you decide to get a vaccine, you’re protecting a kid out there who can’t get it,” Inslee <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/08/18/world/covid-delta-variant-vaccine?action=click&pgtype=Article&module=&state=default&region=header&context=breakout_link_back_to_briefing">said</a> Wednesday.

Why did the Afghan military surrender so quickly? Its because the Afghan society itself is horribly decayed from within. A lack of honor and loyalty is severe to the point that it is like a disease that has rotted the body politic. A year before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, there was a series of meetings throughout the Afghan provinces between the Taliban (knowing already that the US was going to withdraw) and government officials in which the latter were bribed to surrender territories to the Taliban once it unleashed its attack. As a result, Afghan troops were ordered to surrender once the Taliban invaded their provinces. Plus, the Taliban was paying Afghan soldiers to lay down their arms. Before this disaster erupted, a popular opinion in Washington was supposedly that it would be a long while before the Afghan military fell to the Taliban. Gen. Mark Milley affirmed that it would be weeks, months, even years before the Afghan military surrendered to the Taliban. The prediction was obviously wrong. It took 11 days for the Afghan military to fall. Why such ignorance? Because people are obviously clueless as to the decayed society that is Afghanistan. 
As in any situation involving a country fighting and losing a war, there are different factors involved in the disaster, so we will first inquire into these reasons before detailing the collaboration with the Taliban that led to what we are witnessing today. There was the conspicuous corruption, the lack of competence and then there was a major problem: the absence of faith in the Kabul government. In order for soldiers to be efficient and willing to fight, they have to be adequately paid and supplied, and they need to believe in what they are fighting for. Soldiers who are not being paid sufficiently nor supplied with enough munitions are not going to have faith in the state that has no respect for them. The Taliban on the other hand, while not having nearly the amount of training that the Afghan military had, has one thing that their enemy did not possess: belief, faith, a spiritual system that ascends above any secular ideals. The Taliban fights for something that they have faith in, their god.  Meanwhile Afghan soldiers fought for a state that they could not put their faith in. Carter Malkasian, an observer of the Afghan war, explained the power of faith that energizes Taliban fighters: “It animated the Taliban. It sapped the will of Afghan soldiers and police. When they clashed, Taliban were more willing to kill and be killed than soldiers and police, at least a good number of them”. Afghan troops, on the other hand, cannot believe in a government that does not believe in them. “They don’t have any policy, any good plan,” said Hayatullah Frotan, an Afghan soldier who joined the army at 14. He stated that one of the reasons for the lack of morale was the disdain that Afghan soldiers had towards the government. One of the reasons for this agitation was that the government was not giving benefits to the families of dead soldiers, and that if they did “the personnel morale will become high. And they will fight like lions.”
There was a common infraction that really enraged soldiers, and that was that some generals were stealing the wages of their soldiers. There were also funds that were meant to be for the purchase of rice for the soldiers, stolen by generals. They would simply buy the lowest quality and cheapest rice and then pocket the difference for themselves. Fire wood meant for keeping soldiers warm was also sold for profit. Soldiers have also complained about being deprived of their SIM cards, rendering them unable to call their families.
Other than just pure disdain for generals, there was also the absence or lack of education in military commanders. In one battle with the Taliban six years ago, the Afghan army fired artillery shells at the Taliban and missed their target by a kilometer because the soldiers did not know how to read the maps. Since 2001, almost 60,000 Afghan soldiers and police officers have been killed fighting the Taliban. Such a huge number of dead meant continuous recruitment of new soldiers. These fresh recruits needed to be given training in advanced military skills, which are not easy to learn and need to be done consistently to keep their skills sharp. “It takes a lot of time. It is not a short process,” said Maj. Kevin McCormick. “These skills are perishable. They require continuous training, continuous mastery.” There is also the problem of basic discipline. In one event in 2010, American troops were geared up and equipped for battle, while the Afghan soldiers were half-dressed, had the stench of hashish and were asking for food. The soldiers were also utterly dependent on the US military to back them up (especially air support), and when the Taliban commenced their attacks, and there was no American help, the Afghan soldiers had no idea what to do.
There was also the spreading thin of the Afghan commandos, the most efficient soldiers in the military. There were 22,000 of these elite fighters out of the 300,000 Afghan troops, and while they were very good in warfare, they were forced to be distributed to various territories to back up regular soldiers, as opposed to their intended purpose which was special operations. They were excessively overdone, leaving them to support regular Afghan army units that couldn’t or wouldn’t fight. 
So there was lack of discipline, lack of military education, the robbing of wages and munitions, a complete dependence on the US military, the stretching thin of commandos, and thus an overall absence of morale. With such a terrible atmosphere, the Taliban could easily capitalize on the horrid situation, and they did just that. The Taliban, in fact, paid Afghan soldiers not to fight, and their bribes proved to be higher and more reliable than what they were getting from their corrupt military superiors. As we read in <a href="https://www.npr.org/2021/08/20/1029451594/the-afghan-army-collapsed-in-days-here-are-the-reasons-why">NPR</a>:

“When the Taliban started their advancement this year, the Afghan National Army, held together by duct tape and glue, just couldn’t hold. Support from U.S. airstrikes against Taliban units dropped off. One soldier told us that the Taliban also gave payments to Afghan soldiers who refused to fight, providing the most money to the officers.”

Another reality behind these mass surrenders is that they were part of deals made in 2020 between the Taliban and low-ranking officials of the Afghan government. The deals were simply briberies from the Taliban to have Afghan soldiers lay down their arms. According to the Washington Post:

“The spectacular collapse of Afghanistan’s military that allowed Taliban fighters to walk into the Afghan capital Sunday despite 20 years of training and billions of dollars in American aid began with a series of deals brokered in rural villages between the militant group and some of the Afghan government’s lowest-ranking officials.
The deals, initially offered early last year, were often described by Afghan officials as cease-fires, but Taliban leaders were in fact offering money in exchange for government forces to hand over their weapons, according to an Afghan officer and a U.S. official.”

Whats more is that for the next year and a half, these meetings would rapidly take place in districts, and then to provincial capitals, building up to a mass of deals in which government forces agreed to give up their arms in the face of a Taliban attack. This is <a href="https://archive.is/s6rWV#selection-1491.22-1491.140">according to</a> over a dozen Afghan police officers, special forces troops and other troops. Hence why as soon the Taliban would enter a provincial city they would be met with surrender. One special forces officer, speaking on these Afghan officials who took these Taliban bribes, said: “Some just wanted the money”. But he also added that other officials knew that the Taliban were going to unleash a full attack once the Americans withdrew and thus wanted to secure their position on the winning side by establishing a surrender for the terrorists. When the Taliban overran the city of Kunduz, tribal leaders mediated a deal with the Taliban that guaranteed the mass surrender of all the troops in the city and the handing over of the last government-controlled base to the Taliban. The same thing happened in Herat where, in just one night, the governor, the top interior Ministry, intelligence officials and hundreds of troops all surrendered their positions to the Taliban.
Here is another thing that should shock people: the commandos of Afghanistan, who were very willing to fight, were ordered by the Kabul government to drop their arms. As the NPR report states:

“As the Taliban advanced throughout the country during those final weeks, the commandos faced a chilling reality. One commando from the south told us that no one in his unit wanted to surrender. They were there to fight the Taliban. But the Kabul government ordered them to lay down their arms.
“We were no longer safe,” the commando said. “We had to take refuge in our friends’ houses, and now we are hiding.”
Another commando from the Kabul unit shared a similar story. “Yes, everybody hide themselves, and I’m really scared and I have not been outside like three days, four days,” he said.
Once all the commando units throughout the country broke down, the Kabul unit was the last one standing. “We didn’t fight because the government didn’t say you have to fight it,” the Kabul commando said. “The Ministry of Defense didn’t say you have to fight.” It’s a political decision, he added — it’s not about the willingness to fight.”

The <a href="https://archive.is/s6rWV#selection-1491.22-1491.140">Washington Post</a> recounts a story in which a commando was ordered to stand down:

“An Afghan special forces officer stationed in Kandahar who had been assigned to protect a critical border crossing recalled being ordered by a commander to surrender. “We want to fight! If we surrender, the Taliban will kill us,” the special forces officer said.
“Don’t fire a single shot,” the unit’s commander told them as the Taliban swarmed the area, the officer later recounted. The border police surrendered immediately, leaving the special forces unit on its own. A second officer confirmed his colleague’s recollection of the events.”

Singapore:
Vice President Kamala Harris began a trip to Asia Sunday where she will offer reassurances of Washington's commitment to the region after the chaotic US pullout from Afghanistan and Taliban takeover.
The hardline Islamists' swift return to power a week ago, and desperate scenes of thousands trying to flee, have cast another shadow over the United States' status as a global superpower.
But on her visit, which includes stops in Singapore and Vietnam, Harris will seek to allay concerns about US dependability.
"The vice president will make clear throughout the trip that we do have an enduring commitment to the region," said a senior US official.
Harris, an Asian-American whose mother was of Indian origin, landed in Singapore Sunday and will start her activities Monday by meeting the city-state's leaders.
The Vietnam leg has sparked criticism, with some accusing Harris of being tone-deaf for visiting the communist country as US forces struggle to evacuate Americans, other foreigners and Afghan allies from Kabul airport.
The crisis has prompted comparisons with the trauma of 1975 Saigon, when US helicopters ferried final evacuees from the embassy roof, as Viet Cong troops advanced.
US officials say the trip was planned long before the Afghan debacle, however -- and insist Harris is focused on Washington's broader strategic goals in Asia.
It is the latest visit by a top US official to the region, as President Joe Biden's administration looks to build alliances against China and reset relations after the turbulent Donald Trump presidency.
'Strategic, economic importance'
At a time when China is challenging US political sway and naval dominance in the Indo-Pacific region, Southeast Asia remains "strategically important and economically important to this country", said a White House official, who asked not to be named.
"That hasn't changed with Afghanistan."
The 10-country region is a growing battleground for influence between the United States and China, and Washington has repeatedly criticised Beijing's expansive claims to almost the entire South China Sea.
Four Southeast Asian states -- Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam -- as well as Taiwan have overlapping claims with Beijing in the flashpoint sea, home to key shipping lanes.
"Following the previous administration and what's happening in Afghanistan, it is a categorical imperative for the US to build up political trust in this region," said Mustafa Izzuddin, a senior international affairs analyst at consultancy Solaris Strategies Singapore.
During the Singapore leg of her trip, Harris will meet the president and prime minister and make a stop at the Changi Naval Base, where she'll address US sailors aboard the visiting USS Tulsa.
She arrives in Hanoi late Tuesday, and will be the first US vice president to visit Vietnam.
She will hold Vietnamese government meetings, attend the opening of a Southeast Asian regional branch of the US Centers for Disease Control, and meet civil society representatives in the communist country.
She will also join a virtual meeting of Southeast Asian officials which will focus on the coronavirus pandemic.

Kabul [Afghanistan]:
The United States on Saturday urged its citizens in Afghanistan to avoid traveling to Kabul airport, citing "potential security threats" near its gates.
Hamid Karzai International Airport has seen a chaotic crush of people hoping to flee the Taliban takeover of the country a week ago.
As thousands of Americans and Afghans wait at the airport for flights or gather nervously outside its gates, there have been "sporadic" reports, confirmed by the Pentagon, of Taliban fighters or other militants beating and harassing people trying to flee.
"We are advising US citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a US government representative," the alert from the US embassy in Kabul said.
The warning gave no detail on the danger but a White House official later said aides had briefed President Joe Biden on local "counterterrorism operations", including against the Islamic State group.
"This morning, the president met with his national security team... They discussed the security situation in Afghanistan and counter-terrorism operations, including ISIS-K," the official said.
Known as Islamic State in Khorasan (IS-K or ISIS-K), the Afghan IS branch has been on the back foot since suffering heavy losses in 2019, but retains the ability to carry out attacks in urban areas.
Up to 15,000 Americans need to be evacuated from Afghanistan, according to Biden, who says the administration wants to get at least 50,000 Afghan allies and their family members out of the country.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the military was urgently trying to complete the evacuation of Kabul by the end of August.
"We've been very honest about the fact that we know that we're fighting against both time and space," he said, adding, "that's the race we're in right now."
'Botched exit'
US Major General Hank Taylor said 17,000 people had so far been taken out since the operation began on August 14, with many flown first to Qatar or Kuwait. The total included 2,500 Americans.
He added that six military C-17 planes and 32 charter flights had departed Kabul airport in the past 24 hours with 3,800 people aboard -- a sharp decline from the previous day.
On Friday, the US military sent helicopters to rescue over 150 Americans unable to reach the airport gates, an official said.
Biden has promised to help any American in Afghanistan seeking to evacuate, saying: "Any American who wants to come home, we will get you home."
But he has also admitted that the presence of thousands of US soldiers at the airport does not guarantee safe passage through Kabul. 
In a telephone briefing Sunday, senior government officials from Canada described conditions around the airport as "tenuous, chaotic and desperate." 
They said Canadian troops had evacuated nearly 1,000 Afghans from the country, adding: "This is a dangerous mission."
Former president Donald Trump, who was unseated by Biden in the 2020 election, berated his successor for the "botched exit" of American forces from Afghanistan. 
He also praised the Taliban as "great negotiators, tough fighters" during a rally in Alabama.
Trump signed a deal with the Taliban that, subject to conditions, would have resulted in the complete withdrawal of US troops by May.
He also secured the release from a Pakistani prison of Taliban founder Abdul Ghani Baradar, the highest profile leader of the movement seen in public since the fall of Afghanistan.
