Italians Hit the Streets to Protest Mandatory Vaccine Passports

A leaked internal email from CNN’s Washington bureau chief complains that the “carrot” is no longer working in terms of convincing Americans to get vaccinated and that authorities need to start using the “stick.”
The message, which was mistakenly sent to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was only intended to be seen by other CNN colleagues.
Although Fox News didn’t name the individual responsible for the comment during an interview segment between Tucker Carlson and Kirk, CNN’s Washington bureau chief is also the network’s senior vice president, Sam Feist.
The email’s subject line was, “FW: #NEWS: A majority of unvaccinated Americans say they’re unlikely to get the Covd-19 vaccine, regardless of outreach efforts.”
“This is the point re: carrot vs. stick. The carrot is no longer going to work,” wrote the author in the body of the email.

Kirk responded to the email by asking, “Is it CNN’s stated position now that they’re going to try to administer medicine under the threat of punishment? What does the stick look like in CNN’s world?”
However, CNN’s Brian Stelter tried to do damage control by claiming that the opinion wasn’t the network’s official position.
“CNN has 4,000 staffers,” he tweeted. “One exec sends an email about vaccine hostility opining that ‘the carrot is no longer going to work.’ Carlson obtains it. And his show turns it into an outright lie: ‘CNN WANTS TO USE A ‘STICK’ ON THE UNVACCINATED.”

Contrary to Stelter’s narrative, CNN has repeatedly amplified the talking point that people need to be coerced into taking the vaccine via threats and punishments.
Host Michael Smerconish previously <a href="https://summit.news/2021/05/05/cnn-host-says-people-who-dont-take-the-vaccine-should-be-socially-ostracized-by-friends-family/">asserted</a> that those who don’t get jabbed should be ostracized by their friends and family.
Earlier this month, the network’s medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/09/video-cnn-doctor-says-its-time-to-start-mandating-covid-vaccines/">declared</a> that it is “time to start mandating” coronavirus vaccines for all Americans to counter people opting not to take the shots.
Days later, Dr. Leana Wen, who formerly headed Planned Parenthood, <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/13/cnn-doctor-it-needs-to-be-hard-for-people-to-remain-unvaccinated/">suggested</a> that Americans should be banned from engaging in social events and forced to undergo PCR tests twice a week if they want to stay unvaccinated.
“It needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated,” Wen stated, lamenting, “Right now, it’s kind of the opposite.”

A police force in the UK faced criticism after it bragged on Twitter about arresting a 12-year-old boy for sending offensive messages on social media.
Following a media-contrived moral panic over racist messages sent to black England footballers after the national team’s Euros defeat to Italy, West Midlands Police jumped at the chance to broadcast that it had taken swift action.
“#ARRESTED| We were alerted to a series of racist messages sent to a footballer today and after looking into them and conducting checks, we have arrested a boy,” stated the tweet. “The 12-year-old from #Solihull has been taken to custody. Thanks to everyone who raised it. Racism won’t be tolerated.”

In a follow up tweet, the force added that it had contacted the footballer in question to “obtain a statement.”
In other words, authorities are attempting to have a multi-millionaire footballer amplify the issue and potentially expose the identity of and ruin the life the child responsible for the messages.
Reaction from other Twitter users was vitriolic.

As we document in the video below, the moral panic over “racist” messages sent to black England footballers was largely a contrived hoax.
The vast majority of the messages originated with fake bot accounts or people primarily from India and the Middle East.
Despite this, the British media has spent the entire week hysterically amplifying the issue in a bid to force the government to impose new laws which would end online anonymity by making people provide official identity documents when opening a social media account.

List of UK Venues That Could Mandate ‘Vaccine Passports’ Already Expanding

The list of attractions that could be forced to mandate vaccine passports as a condition of entry is already growing, with minister Nadhim Zahawi listing other “crowded venues” that may have to ban the unvaccinated.
On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a mockery of ‘freedom day’ – when all coronavirus restrictions were supposed to be lifted – by announcing that nightclubs would be made to check for vaccine status on the door.
Despite widespread backlash to the idea and the potential for a defeat when it comes to a vote in Parliament, vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi indicated today that the program could be extended further.
During a speech to the Commons, Zahawi said sporting and business events, churches, music venues and festivals would also be subject to the rules, which are expected to come into force at the end of September.
“We reserve the right to mandate its use in the future,” he said.
Zahawi also asked venues to make providing evidence of taking the jab or a negative test a condition of entry before September despite the fact that it’s not the law.

“Although we don’t encourage its use in essential settings like supermarkets, other businesses and organisations in England can adopt the pass as a means of entry where it is suitable for their venue or premises when they can see its potential to keep their clients or their customers safe,” he said.
As we previously <a href="https://summit.news/2021/07/20/nightclub-owners-say-theyll-refuse-to-enforce-vaccine-passports-as-a-condition-of-entry/">highlighted</a>, some nightclub owners are already saying they will refuse to follow the law because the system will be unworkable and wipe out profit margins.
It remains to be seen whether the entire issue is just a PR stunt to bully younger people into taking the vaccine or whether it will actually be implemented.
The government previously assured the public that vaccine passports would not be introduced for domestic purposes, even going so far as to label the practice “discriminatory.”
Despite widespread unruly protests in France forcing President Macron to walk back part of a similar plan, a vaccine passport will still be required to access a multitude of venues, including bars, cafes and public transport.

Peshawar:
At least 14 people were killed and 26 others injured in rain-related incidents in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the last 24 hours, the officials said on Thursday.
The Provincial Disasters Management Authority (PDMA) said that incessant monsoon rain stuck various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and inundated low lying areas in the province's Dera Ismail Khan, Hazara and Malakand divisions and resulted in the complete damage of four houses and partial damage of 21 others.
"Houses were damaged due to the continuous monsoon rain that struck Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulting in the death of 14 people and injuries to 26 others in the last one day," a senior official from the PDMA said.
The respective district administrations in the province have geared up relief and rescue activities in areas affected by the monsoon rains and issued necessary travel advisory for the tourists, the official said.
