Vatican City:
Pope Francis was admitted to a Rome hospital on Sunday afternoon for "scheduled surgery" on his colon later in the day, the Vatican said.
Spokesman Matteo Bruni said the Pope, 84, was suffering from "symptomatic diverticular stenosis" of the colon, a condition that can cause recurrent abdominal pain, bloating and changes in bowel habits.
Bruni said the operation would take place later on Sunday in Rome's Gemelli hospital, which is the institution where popes receive medical treatment. Another statement would be issued afterwards.
It is the first time the pope has been admitted to hospital since his election in 2013.
The Pope appeared to be in fine health several hours earlier when he addressed thousands of people in St. Peter's Square for his Sunday blessing and announcing a trip to Slovakia and Budapest for September.
Francis is sometimes short of breath because a part of one of his lungs was removed following an illness when he was a young man in his native Argentina.
Francis also suffers from sciatica, a condition that causes pain that radiates from the lower back along the sciatic nerve to the legs.
He is sometimes seen walking with difficulty because of the pain and receives regular physical therapy for it. The condition forced him to miss several events at the beginning of this year.
Last year, a bad cold kept him from taking part in a week-long Lenten retreat with his with senior aides south of Rome.
In 2014, a year after he was elected pope, Francis was forced to cancel several engagements because of what was believed to be a stomach ailment.

Poll: Nearly One-Third of Americans Think Health Officials Are Lying About Vaccine Safety

Nearly a third of Americans think health officials are lying about vaccine safety, according to a Rasmussen poll <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/lifestyle/coronavirus/nearly_a_third_of_americans_think_public_health_officials_are_lying_about_vaccine_safety?utm_campaign=RR07022021DN&utm_source=RR07022021DN&utm_medium=email" target="_blank">released</a> Friday.
“Distrust of public health officials is higher among the unvaccinated, particularly those who say they don’t plan to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in the future,” according to the poll report.
Thirty-two percent of American adults think public health officials are lying about coronavirus vaccine safety, a number which rises to almost two-thirds among those who do not intended to get the coronavirus vaccine.
Joe Rogan is joined by Dr. Pierre Kory, an ICU and lung specialist who is an expert on the use of the drug ivermectin to treat COVID-19. Also joining is Bret Weinstein, an evolutionary biologist, visiting fellow at Princeton, host of the DarkHorse podcast, and co-author (with his wife, Heather Heying) of the forthcoming “A Hunter-Gatherer’s Guide to the 21st Century.”
Forty-eight percent of Americans do not think health officials are lying and 20 percent are not sure.
Of those surveyed, 63 percent said they had already gotten a coronavirus vaccination and 32 percent had not. More than half of those who have not been vaccinated do not plan to do so in the future.

Among those who have already gotten the COVID-19 vaccine, only 21 percent think public health officials are lying about the safety of vaccines. Protesters at a Los Angeles day spa that angered conservatives for allowing a transgender woman to expose herself to girls clashed with black-clad counter-protesters after Antifa vowed to “stand against rampant transphobia.”
Video footage from Saturday’s rally outside the Wi Spa in LA’s Koreatown area shows several assaults and fights, including a man wearing an ‘Obey Jesus’ T-shirt being knocked to the ground by counter-protesters after several demonstrators were assaulted and chased away. Another evangelist is then punched and knocked to the ground after trying to come to the man’s aid.

Another clip shows a woman being surrounded by a group of masked activists after her sign is taken away and ripped in pieces. Taunting counter-protesters rip off her hat and sunglasses. She then tries to reason with the mob, explaining that while she doesn’t oppose transgender women being allowed in the spa, “I just don’t want to see their penis.” The crowd then chants, “Go home transphobe.”

In another case, a young man standing by himself pulls out pepper spray after his sign is taken away and ripped, only to be chased down, thrown to the ground and punched and kicked by at least four black-clad activists who only stop when several apparent security guards come to his help.

Other incidents caught on video included assaults on another man and a videographer, as well as a couple being threatened and pushed as a mob forces them to leave. Demonstrators and counter-protesters are seen brawling in some footage.

Police arrived on scene after the scuffles broke out, forming a line to separate the groups. Antifa activists then set a dumpster fire in the middle of the street.

The rally and ensuing violence stemmed from a viral video last week in which a woman confronted Wi Spa’s staff, ranting that the business allowed a biological male to “go into the women’s section, show his penis to young little girls.” She later complained in an Instagram post that “Wi Spa allowed the man access just because he called himself a woman. This man was naked, exposing his testicles and penis slinging left to right in front of young girls, teens and grown women.”
Wi Spa stood by its policy, saying that it’s prohibited by state law from discriminating against customers based on gender identity.
A group known as SoCal Antifa and other Antifa accounts on Twitter called on followers to show up at Saturday’s rally to “smash transphobia” and “smash fascism.”

“Federal authorities are deeply concerned about the possibility of domestic terror and violence, including mass shootings, as the Fourth of July holiday approaches and the summer season gets fully underway,” ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/perfect-storm-bulletin-warns-extremist-violence-pandemic-restrictions/story?id=78569956">said</a>.

If you managed to read past ABC News’ headline, you’d see the feds admit there’s “no specific threat” and their only evidence of a possible threat is some online chatter (that was probably put out by their own agents working to entrap gullible saps and <a href="https://www.newser.com/story/178842/atf-agents-lured-mentally-disabled-as-bait.html">the mentally disabled</a>).

Mayorkas has issued multiple of these fearmongering bulletins warning of imminent mass death and always leaks them to ABC News who reports on it every time as though it was the first time and never points out how their past leaks were total bulls**t. 
ABC News together with Mayorkas hyped the hell out of the notion <a href="https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=62080">that “Q-Anon extremists” were going to attack the Capitol on March 4 yet literally nothing happened</a>.
Glenn Greenwald recently detailed <a href="https://greenwald.substack.com/p/the-new-domestic-war-on-terror-has">how they’re issuing such fearmongering bulletins every few weeks.</a> This appears to be the fifth such bulletin this year. 
Though no “white extremists” carried out any mass shootings as they were predicting, there were multiple mass shootings in Chicago over just the past week.

Chicago police Supt. David Brown said they were caught in gang crossfire. The 9-year-old was in critical condition.

BBC pressured to delete article on positive aspects of climate change

The BBC’s educational website Bitesize has removed a page on climate change following backlash.
There was furious reaction online over the page highlighting the benefits of climate change and the outlet was pressured into only listing the negatives.
BBC’s Bitesize is an educational website targeting school-going kids. The use of the website increased over the last year as kids were forced to study from home.
The <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/zcn6k7h/revision/5">page</a> on climate change was created for kids studying for their geography exams.The page claimed that warmer temperatures, created by global warming, “could lead to healthier outdoor lifestyles,” increase the ability to grow more crops in cold areas such as Siberia, make oil in Alaska and Siberia more easily accessible, and the melting ice could increase tourists destinations by creating more routes for water vessels.
