Bill Gates: from ‘Computer Programming’ to ‘Eugenics’ & ‘Depopulation’ (Part 1)

<p><strong>The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation does not need much introduction. Bill Gates is one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world.</strong></p>
<p>Bill Gates is invited to G20 meetings and other top level gatherings such as those that take place in Davos at the World Economic Forum, where he is treated like a head of state. He is presented to the mere “plebs” of the world as the saviour of humanity and the Earth. As the embodiment of charity, a great example of the American dream, and a wonderful inspiration to all.</p>

<p>Where did he come from? Well Bill Gates was born in a wealthy family, a family of influence. His mother Mary Maxwell Gates came from a powerful banking family. His father William Henry Gates Senior was an attorney. Bill Junior dropped out of Harvard University and his mother, worried about his future, helped Bill to set up Microsoft, using her IBM connection to set up a deal with IBM.</p>
<p>Then in 1991 she arranged a meeting between her son Bill and Warren Buffet, the multi-billionaire who took Bill under his wing.</p>

<p>Both of Bill’s parents were heavily involved in family planning and eugenics, his father serving on the board of ‘Planned Parenthood’. From an early age Gates was spoon fed with the ideology of eugenics, and in his 30’s Warren Buffet added to this with his enthusiasm on the subject.</p>
<p>Buffet’s foundation the ‘Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation’ is a massive financial backer of pro-abortion activities and population control policies. By 2019 the foundation had spent $77 million on abortion, enough to kill 220,000 babies. It is the largest founder of reproductive health and family planning in the world, which are just fancy words for eugenics.</p>
<p>So Bill Gates, a Rockefeller descendent was pushed forward with one goal in life, and one goal alone. It was not computer programming. His role in this world was determined by his bloodline. He was to become the face of population control and depopulation within the framework of Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030 set by the UN.</p>

<p>Between 2000 and 2017 the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation massively enforced their new polio foundation on the children of India. Half a million children under the age of 5 were left paralysed. The Indian people were furious and as a result the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation were thrown out of the country in 2017. Yet less than two years later they were allowed back in and India’s prime minister, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/pm-narendra-modi-to-be-honoured-by-bill-melinda-gates-foundation-for-swachch-bharat-abhiyan/articleshow/71164934.cms?from=mdr" target="_blank"><span>Narendra Modi was honoured by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation</span></a> for his efforts to reach the UN’s sustainable development goals.</p>

<p>However it’s extremely strange Bill Gates was given the opportunity in the first instance to begin his Polio vaccination campaign in India, considering the fact that back in the year 2000 it was known in the USA, that the oral Polio vaccine frequently caused paralysis.</p>
<p>In the UK the Polio vaccination programme was halted four years later in 2004, because of the proven link between the vaccine and paralysis. Yet the vaccination programme was continued for thirteen more years with devastating effects on India’s children. Nobody said a word, not the UN, not the WHO, not the RIVM who were involved in the development of the vaccine, and most certainly not the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.</p>
<p>But the damage was done, and the WHO reluctantly admitted that the global explosion was caused by the mutated polio strains used in vaccines.</p>
<p>The oral vaccine was the cheapest of the two available vaccines which led to poorer countries receiving the oral vaccine, and richer countries receiving the injectable vaccine. But the oral vaccine started causing major issues. According to the WHO the oral vaccine contained a live, but weakened Polio virus activating an immune response in the body. However the weakened virus did not die after the body had become immune to Polio. It instead became stronger and started causing mayhem in children. Those who’d had the oral polio vaccine developed identical symptoms to the original wild polio virus and were left paralysed.</p>
<p>At first the WHO denied the allegations and stated this was an extremely rare occurrence. But then as the number of paralysed children grew <a href="https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/poliomyelitis-vaccine-derived-polio" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span>they admitted it was due to mutated polio strains</span></a> contained within the vaccine, giving it the name ‘Vaccine-derived Polio Virus’.</p>
<p>The WHO’s solution? Every child in the world should get the Polio vaccine. The very same vaccine that had caused the paralysis in thousands of children was to be given to every child under the age of 5 under the guise of ‘herd immunity’.</p>
<p>Did the paralysed children receive any compensation? No.</p>
<p>Was the WHO prosecuted? No.</p>
<p>Was the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation prosecuted? No.</p>

Shocking! – Latest update on adverse reactions to the Covid Vaccines in the USA released by CDC

<p><strong>The number of reported adverse reactions to the Covid vaccines in the USA surpassed 200,000 according to data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The data comes directly from reports submitted to the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://vaers.hhs.gov/" target="_blank">Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System</a> (VAERS).</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/rfk-jr-david-kessler-covid-vaccine-vaers/">VAERS</a> is the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed.</p>
<p>Every Friday, <a href="https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/rfk-jr-david-kessler-covid-vaccine-vaers/">VAERS</a> makes public all vaccine injury reports received as of a specified date, usually about a week prior to the release date. The latest data shows that between the 14th December 2020 and the 14th May 2021, a total of <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=CAT&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19" target="_blank">227,805 total adverse events</a> were reported to VAERS, including <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19&DIED=Yes" target="_blank">4,201 deaths</a> — an increase of 144 over the previous week — and <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19&SERIOUS=ON" target="_blank">18,528 serious injuries</a>, up 1,338 on the previous week.</p>

<p>This data also showed <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19" target="_blank">943</a> total adverse events, including <a href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19&SERIOUS=ON">23</a> rated as serious, among 12- to -17-year-olds.</p>
<p>In the U.S., <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/cumulative-covid-vaccinations?tab=chart&stackMode=absolute&country=~USA&region=World" target="_blank">268.4 million</a> COVID vaccine doses had been administered as of May 14. This <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/covid-vaccine-doses-by-manufacturer?country=~USA" target="_blank">includes</a> 115 million doses of <a href="https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/pfizer-moderna-vaccines-blood-clots/">Moderna’s</a> vaccine, 144 million doses of <a href="https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/teen-hospitalized-brain-blood-clots-after-pfizer-vaccine/">Pfizer</a> and 9 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID vaccine.</p>
<p>Of the 4,201 deaths reported as of May 14th, 23% occurred within 48 hours of vaccination, 16% occurred within 24 hours and <a href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19&DIED=Yes&V2OCHECKED=ON&V2OLOW=0&V2OHIGH=2">38% occurred</a> in people who became ill <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19&DIED=Yes&V2OCHECKED=ON&V2OLOW=0&V2OHIGH=2" target="_blank">within 48 hours</a> of being vaccinated.</p>
<p>The latest VAERS data shows:</p>

<li>20% of deaths were related to cardiac disorders.</li>
<li>54% of those who died were male, 44% were female and the remaining death reports did not include gender of the deceased.</li>
<li>The <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID19&DIED=Yes" target="_blank">average age</a> of death was 74.7 and the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?IDNUMBER=1225942" target="_blank">youngest deaths</a> reported include two 15-year-olds (VAERS I.D. <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?IDNUMBER=1187918" target="_blank">1187918</a> and <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?IDNUMBER=1242573" target="_blank">1242573</a> ) and a 16-year-old (VAERS I.D. <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?IDNUMBER=1225942" target="_blank">1225942</a>). There were other reported deaths in children under 16 that could not be confirmed or contained obvious errors.</li>

<li>Of the <a href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=MAN&EVENTS=ON&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Bell%27s+palsy+%2810004223%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+discomfort+%2810083537%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+dysmorphism+%2810016045%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+nerve+disorder+%2810061457%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+neuralgia+%2810061594%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+palsy+%2810016060%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+paralysis+%2810016062%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+paresis+%2810051267%29&SYMPTOMS%5B%5D=Facial+spasm+%2810063006%29&VAX=COVID19">2,275 cases of Bell’s Palsy reported</a>, 51% were reported after <a href="https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/fda-misled-public-pfizer-vaccine-efficacy/">Pfizer-BioNTech</a> vaccinations, 42% following vaccination with the Moderna vaccine and 192 cases, or 10%, of Bell’s Palsy cases were reported in conjunction with J&J.</li>
<li>There were <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=MAN&EVENTS=ON&SYMPTOMS=Guillain-Barre+syndrome+%2810018767%29&VAX=COVID19" target="_blank">195 reports of Guillain-Barré Syndrome</a> with 40% of cases attributed to Pfizer, 38% to Moderna and 26% to J&J.</li>
<li>There were <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&SYMPTOMSSMQ=21&VAX=COVID19" target="_blank">65,854 reports of anaphylaxis</a> with 38% of cases attributed to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&SYMPTOMSSMQ=21&VAX=COVID19&VAXMAN=PFIZER/BIONTECH" target="_blank">Pfizer’s vaccine</a>, 51% to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&SYMPTOMSSMQ=21&VAX=COVID19&VAXMAN=MODERNA" target="_blank">Moderna</a> and 11% to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=AGE&EVENTS=ON&SYMPTOMSSMQ=21&VAX=COVID19&VAXMAN=JANSSEN" target="_blank">J&J</a>.</li>

The Mainstream Media are lying to you – India’s Government confirms the “Indian Variant” does NOT exist

<p><strong>What you are seeing on your TV screen and reading in a newspaper about an alleged ‘Indian Covid variant’ is nothing more than propaganda and lies which are being used to maintain the level of fear that they have managed to invoke in the majority of people in the United Kingdom since March 2020. You are being deceived, and we can prove it thanks to India’s Government.</strong></p>
<p>On the 12th May 2021, India’s ‘Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’ released a statement entitled “WHO has not associated the term ‘Indian Variant’ with B.1.617, now classified as Variant of Concern”.</p>

<p><a href="https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1717876" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The statement</a> read –</p>
<p><em>Several media reports have covered the news of World Health Organisation (WHO) classifying B.1.617 as variant of global concern. Some of these reports have termed the B.1.617 variant of the coronavirus as an “Indian Variant”.</em></p>
<p><em>These media reports are without any basis, and unfounded.</em></p>
<p><em>This is to clarify that WHO has not associated the term “Indian Variant” with the B.1.617 variant of the coronavirus in its 32 page document.</em></p>
<p><em>In fact, the word “Indian” has not been used in its report on the matter.</em></p>
<p>So why is it that every headline from the UK mainstream media at the moment concerns a Covid-19 variant known as the ‘Indian Variant?’</p>

<p>It’s never ending and it is being done by design to scare you into compliance, and to coerce you into taking an experimental vaccine.</p>

<p>How do we know this? Because India’s government have now gone one step further and sent a cease and desist to all social media companies demanding they immediately remove all content that names, refers to, or implies ‘Indian Variant’ of coronavirus from their platforms immediately.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.meity.gov.in/writereaddata/files/Advisory_to_social_media_platforms_Corona%20variant_21May2021.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span>The full statement</span></a> reads as follows –</p>
<p><em>To All Social media platforms:<br /></em><br />
<em>This invites reference to the advisory dated 20.03.2020 and 07.05.2021 issued by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India regarding curbing of false news / misinformation concerning corona virus on social media platforms.<br /></em><br />
<em>2.It has come to our knowledge that a statement is being circulated online which implies that an ‘Indian variant’of corona virus is spreading across the countries. This is completely FALSE. There is no such variant of Covid-19 scientifically cited as such by the World Health Organisation (WHO).WHO has not associated the term “Indian Variant” with the B.1.617 variant of the coronavirus in any of its reports.<br /></em><br />
<em>3. This has already been clarified by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 12th May., 2021 through a press release available at <a href="https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1717876" rel="nofollow">https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1717876</a><br /></em><br />

Nothing but lies and propaganda – Uncovering the truth about India’s alleged “Covid Crisis”

<p><strong>The scenes being broadcast on ‘BBC News’ and displayed in newspapers such as ‘The Guardian’ across the UK on the current situation unfolding in India are horrifying. Reports of people dying in the street, images of mass “bonfires” in which they are burning the dead, constant stories about the lack of oxygen and the rush to get it from ‘A to B’ in order to save the lives of thousands of people. Sounds almost apocalyptic doesn’t it?</strong></p>
<p><strong>That is of course until you put the whole “crisis” into context. Because what you are seeing on your TV screen and reading in a newspaper on the alleged situation regarding Covid-19 in India is nothing more than propaganda and lies which are being used to maintain the level of fear that they have managed to invoke in the majority of people in the United Kingdom since March 2020. You are being deceived, and we can prove it…</strong></p>

<p>The amount of disinformation and misinformation on India’s “Covid crisis” is now so vast that it’s hard to know where to begin to untangle the web of deceit and lies. But let’s start with an article released by ‘The Guardian’ on the 3rd May 2021. <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/membership/2021/may/03/india-covid-deaths-crisis-kumbh-mela" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The article in question</a> was headlined “Covering India’s Covid crisis: ‘Hundreds of journalists have lost their lives’”. The tag line of the article reads “Our South Asia correspondent reflects on a catastrophe that is now <strong>affecting the lives of almost everyone in the country</strong>“.</p>
<p>This is a lie. The current situation unfolding in India is actually only affecting two places in particular, Delhi and Mumbai. So this is far from almost everyone in the country, a grand total of 1.4 billion people. But the main “area of concern” is currently Delhi. Step outside of these two areas and you’ll find that the rest of India is carrying on as normal.</p>

<p>But let’s go back to the headline – “Hundreds of journalists have lost their lives”. Does ‘The Guardian’ provide any evidence of this within the article? Here’s what they wrote…</p>
<p><em>“India is a huge, diverse country to cover and I’m indebted to the brilliant work of local journalists who have been on the ground, exposing the shortage of oxygen and beds and counting the bodies at crematoriums to hold local authorities to account for covering-up the true death toll of the pandemic. They have paid a heavy price for their reporting: hundreds of Indian journalists have lost their lives covering this pandemic, including over 50 in just the past few weeks.”</em></p>
<p>This is just a direct quote from their own journalist, they do not provide a single source to back up this claim. This is just one of many examples in which the mainstream media are manipulating the public with words to maintain a level of fear. Words that are not backed up with a single shred of evidence.</p>
<p>But the propaganda doesn’t end there. Later on in the article ‘The Guardian’ ask their South Asia correspondent ‘What needs to happen now in order for the crisis to abate?’</p>
<p>Here’s the answer that was given – <em>“The only thing that is going to get us out of this crisis is amping up vaccine production and distribution.”</em></p>

<p>Now that is a very interesting claim for several reasons. Looking at the evidence you could argue that the Covid vaccines are in fact the source of the current “crisis” unfolding in a couple of hot spots in India. Prior to the Covid Vaccine roll-out the Indian Government had been treating the citizens of India with Ivermectin, a medication that is used to treat many types of parasite infestations, including head lice and scabies.</p>
<p>But trials have also shown it to be effective in the treatment of the alleged Covid-19 disease. You could possibly say that the largest trial ever conducted proving the success of Ivermectin against Covid occurred in India with its population of 1.4 billion.</p>

<p>India began using Ivermectin late August 2020, and as you can see from the graph above it had great success in reducing the number of daily deaths attributed to Covid-19. However for some strange reason they switched tack in January to the experimental Covid vaccines. But didn’t really get going with the vaccine roll-out until the end of February.</p>

<p>Fast forward two weeks and the deaths attributed to Covid-19, which had almost flat lined suddenly started to rise at an unexplained and exponential rate compared to the rate previously seen in India.</p>

<p>Correlation doesn’t always mean causation but when the same pattern occurs in country after country you have to start to question that this isn’t just a coincidence. And it has and is occurring in country after country, see for yourself <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/coronavirus-data-explorer" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>But here’s where things get a little weird. The Guardian claims the only way out of this alleged “crisis” is to increase production and distribution of experimental “vaccines” which do not stop the recipient from catching the disease or spreading the disease. Instead they allegedly reduce the risk of serious disease and death, but of course this is just a theory as there is no real world data to prove this.</p>
<p>Authorities in the UK will claim that this is exactly what is occurring now across Great Britain and it’s all thanks to the miraculous vaccines, but they are not considering one key factor… seasonality. So until the next autumn / winter arrives in the UK we do not know what effect these experimental vaccines will have actually had on suppressing the alleged Covid-19 disease, but we have a hunch it is not going to be pretty.</p>
<p>There is also a huge push in the UK to vaccinate every man, woman and child even though statistics show us that only 0.2% of those who contract Covid actually die and even then it has only really affected those who are over the age of 85 and have underlying conditions<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://dailyexpose.co.uk/2021/04/05/official-nhs-data-shows-only-3-5k-have-died-of-covid-19/" target="_blank"> (see here)</a>. So why is there a big push to vaccinate every man, woman and child in the UK? Why are the Guardian saying the only way out of the manipulated and exaggerated crisis for India is to increase distribution of a Covid vaccine?</p>

<p>One possibility of course is the billions of pounds the manufacturers of these vaccines and their shareholders stand to make if this happens. India has a population of 1.4 billion people. The Covaxin Covid vaccine is currently being sold to the Indian state for 600 Indian rupees per dose. This accounts to around £6 in English money. However two dose are required to complete the course, so that accounts for £12 per head. Now times that number by 1.4 billion people and you’ll find that Covaxin could stand to make £16.8 billion.</p>
<p>But Covaxin isn’t the only vaccine available in India, the other is Covishield which is in fact the AstraZeneca jab under a different brand name. This is being sold to the Indian State at 400 Indian Rupees a dose. This accounts for £4 in English money. Again two doses are required to complete the course, this accounts to £8 per head. Times that 1.4 billion people and the manufacturer of Covishield stands to make £11.2 billion.</p>
<p>Who produces Covishield in India? The Serum Institute of India. Who funds the Serum Institute of India? <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.gatesfoundation.org/about/committed-grants/2020/10/inv021423" target="_blank">The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.</a> Who also funds ‘The Guardian” newspaper? <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2010/sep/14/about-this-site" target="_blank">The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation</a>.</p>

<p>If you need more evidence to clarify why the current situation in India is being used to ramp up the fear around the world so that they can get the experimental Covid vaccine into the arms of every living man, woman and child then you have to look no further than the number of alleged cases occurring due to Covid-19 in India.</p>
<p>If we look at the number of daily positive tests for SARS-CoV-2 we can see that the highest number to occur so far was on the 30th April 2021, India recorded 401,993 positive tests.</p>

<p>Now this may sound like a frighteningly high number but it isn’t when put it into context. India has a population of 1.4 billion people. This means the number of cases to have occurred on the 30th April 2021 accounted for just 0.028% of the entire population. But the mainstream media are not putting them into context and are instead publishing fear-mongering headlines such as “India sets grim record of coronavirus cases per day”.</p>
<p>What the mainstream media aren’t telling you is how many people have recovered from these confirmed cases. Well we can tell you that as of the 2nd May 2021 only 17% of those who’ve tested positive are actually showing signs of infection, whereas 82% have recovered. <a href="https://www.covid19india.org/state/TT" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>(Source)</em></a></p>

<p>But the mainstream media also aren’t telling you about another insidious disease growing at an alarming rate throughout the whole of India. One that had created an epidemic of which India is ill-equipped to handle. A disease which has similar symptoms to the alleged Covid-19 by primarilyy attacking the lungs causing a cough, fever and difficulty breathing… Tuberculosis.</p>
<p>According to estimates from <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://tbcindia.gov.in/WriteReadData/NSP%20Draft%2020.02.2017%201.pdf" target="_blank">National Strategic Plan for TB Elimination</a> (2017-25), a government programme that aims to make India TB-free by 2025, everyday 1400 Indians lose their lives because of Tuberculosis. This accounts for 511,000 people per year.</p>
<p>Since March 2020, India in its battle against coronavirus has neglected this disease, which has plagued the country for centuries. Could what we are seeing broadcast on television screens and published in newspapers actually be the product of 12 months of neglect in treating a much more deadly disease which has always ravaged India dressed up as an epidemic of Covid-19? The coincidences over the past year have been far too aplenty for them to remain just that.</p>

The death of Ronald Greene in Louisiana police custody, explained

<p>Last week, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ronald-greene-death-louisiana-eca021d8a54ec73598dd72b269826f7a">obtained</a> police body camera footage of the arrest of Ronald Greene, a Black man who died in police custody in Louisiana after a car chase in 2019. The footage has revealed shocking brutality toward Greene, undermining the police’s account of what happened during the arrest, and indicates, experts say, a police cover-up of serious misconduct.</p>
<p>The incident, and the conflict between the official report and the video footage, also raise questions about the power and limitations of body cameras — a focal point of <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/body-cameras-are-seen-as-key-to-police-reform-but-do-they-increase-accountability">some criminal justice reform efforts</a> — when it comes to ensuring that law enforcement is held accountable for misconduct.</p>
<p>Greene, a 49-year-old barber, died in police custody outside Monroe, Louisiana, in May 2019, following a police chase that began after Greene did not pull over for an unspecified traffic violation.</p>
<p>According to the AP, police <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ronald-greene-death-louisiana-eca021d8a54ec73598dd72b269826f7a">initially told</a> Greene’s family that he died on impact after crashing into a tree. Later, according to the same AP report, the state police “acknowledg[ed] only that Greene struggled with troopers and died on his way to the hospital.”</p>
<p>But the newly released footage, which lasts more than 46 minutes, reveals a prolonged struggle during which police repeatedly tased, punched, and choked Greene as they put him in handcuffs. The videos also show that he became unresponsive after a physical struggle which use-of-force experts <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ronald-greene-death-louisiana-eca021d8a54ec73598dd72b269826f7a">say</a> violates protocols for safely handling someone in handcuffs.</p>
<p>Greene died in police custody before arriving at a hospital, but the precise cause and timing of his death are unclear. Based on his condition upon arriving at the hospital, an emergency room doctor who saw Greene <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ronald-greene-death-louisiana-eca021d8a54ec73598dd72b269826f7a">was skeptical</a> of the troopers’ initial account that Greene had died during a car crash; <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/21/us/ronald-greene-video-louisiana.html">an independent autopsy</a> later commissioned by Greene’s family found severe injuries to his skull.</p>
<p>In May 2020, Greene’s family sued the police for wrongful death, and federal authorities opened a civil rights investigation into Greene’s death last fall. But Louisiana State Police declined to release the footage publicly for two years, saying that releasing it would undermine the investigative process into the incident.</p>
<p>However, after the AP released the body camera footage it had obtained <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ronald-greene-death-louisiana-eca021d8a54ec73598dd72b269826f7a">last week</a>, the state police released what it said was all the related video, just days later.</p>
<p>With the release of the graphic footage, public scrutiny of the incident has reignited, and experts have weighed in on what appears to be misconduct at several levels of law enforcement.</p>
<p>Alec Karakatsanis, executive director of the Washington-based nonprofit Civil Rights Corps, told Vox that the effort to obstruct the reality of Greene’s treatment by police likely included “at least low-level police officers, high-level police officials, state politicians, government lawyers, and state and federal prosecutors.”</p>
<p>Karakatsanis also likened the incident to the high-profile allegations of a cover-up in the death of <a href="https://www.vox.com/2019/1/17/18184158/chicago-police-conspiracy-trial-verdict-mcdonald-van-dyke">Laquan McDonald</a>, who was shot to death by Chicago police in 2014. In that case, too, the official police report differed markedly from later footage, but while the officer who shot McDonald was <a href="https://www.vox.com/2019/1/18/18188086/jason-van-dyke-sentencing-laquan-mcdonald-chicago-81-months">convicted</a> in his murder, fellow officers who were charged with covering up evidence were <a href="https://www.vox.com/2019/1/17/18187043/laquan-mcdonald-chicago-conspiracy-trial-not-guilty-verdict">not convicted</a>.</p>
<p>The release of the footage in the Greene case has brought national public attention to another incident of police brutality in which official accounts differ from other evidence of the events. Coupled with <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/04/23/poll-police-bias-floyd/">increased public support</a> for broad police reforms and a presidential administration <a href="https://www.vox.com/2021/4/20/22394823/biden-congress-george-floyd-act">sympathetic</a> to the cause, it’s possible that more substantial steps may be taken to hold law enforcement accountable in this case.</p>
<p>At the same time, however, the manner in which the Greene footage was released — only after journalists forced the issue into the national spotlight, a full two years after the incident was obscured by false and inaccurate statements by the police — serves as a reminder that body cameras <a href="https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/7/21/15983842/police-body-cameras-failures">are far from a silver bullet</a> as an accountability tool.</p>
<h2>Greene’s death is shrouded in mystery, but it’s clear he was brutalized</h2>
<p>The now-public footage, from body and dashboard cameras, doesn’t provide a clear picture of everything that happened to Greene the night that he died. Nor does a newly released autopsy report, also <a href="https://apnews.com/article/george-floyd-arrests-77dd5a8ceaf2f293efb83c0177d61c4f">obtained by the AP and released Friday</a>, which stated that Greene’s head injuries and the manner in which he was detained contributed to his death; the report also found cocaine and alcohol in his system.</p>
<p>The report does not give a manner of death, which the AP’s Jim Mustian described as “a highly unusual move that did not make it clear whether Greene’s death could be deemed a homicide, an accident or undetermined.”</p>
<p>What <em>is</em> clear is that, at multiple junctures, Louisiana State Police did not accurately describe what happened — and they did deploy excessive force in handling Greene.</p>
<p>After police tried to pull Greene over for a traffic violation, he sped away from them at high speeds. Troopers told Greene’s family he died when he hit a tree, but the footage shows Greene conscious, speaking, and moving after his car stopped; it <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/22/us/ronald-greene-louisiana-video-saturday/index.html">is unclear</a> based on reports and footage exactly how his car came to a stop. The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/21/us/ronald-greene-video-louisiana.html">reports</a> that, according to Greene’s family’s lawyer, an accident reconstruction expert concluded that the marks on the car — mostly on the rear driver’s side — were inconsistent with a fatal collision.</p>
<p>Footage shows that troopers opened Greene’s car door and immediately tased him.</p>
<p>As at least two troopers try to pull Greene out of the car, Greene can be heard saying, “Okay, okay. I’m sorry. I’m scared. Officer, I’m scared, I’m your brother, I’m scared.”</p>

<p>The troopers struggle to arrest Greene, and, as they do so, they repeatedly tase and punch him in the face and in the back, and appear to place him in a chokehold, the footage shows. Greene can be heard apologizing and crying out in distress throughout the situation.</p>
<p>At one point after Greene is handcuffed with his hands behind his back, he is dragged by his ankles and left in a prone position for more than nine minutes. “I hope this guy ain’t got fucking AIDS,” one of the troopers can be heard saying as he cleans blood off of himself.</p>
<h2>Footage may reveal misconduct and even a cover-up, experts say</h2>
<p>Use-of-force experts say that being handcuffed in the prone position makes it difficult for someone to breathe, and police officers are told to prevent someone from staying in the position too long for that reason.</p>
<p>“There’s nothing in any manual anywhere in the United States that allows for dragging an individual face down by their ankles,” Charles Ramsey, the former commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, <a href="https://twitter.com/AC360/status/1395537735138562048">said</a> on CNN last week after observing the footage. “Clearly this is a case of excessive force, between the tasing, kicking, beating. Having him in a prone position for that length of time ... that is still a position that’s very difficult to breathe. Part of your training tells you, as soon as you get him cuffed, roll him over or sit him up, in order for them to be able to breathe.”</p>
<p>One trooper can be heard discussing the arrest in a telephone exchange inside his patrol vehicle.</p>
<p>“And I beat the ever-living fuck out of him, choked him and everything else trying to get him under control, and we finally got him in handcuffs when a third man got there, and the son of a bitch was still fighting, and we was still wrestling with him trying to hold him down because he was spitting blood everywhere — and then all of a sudden he just went limp,” <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/22/us/ronald-greene-louisiana-video-saturday/index.html">the trooper said</a>.</p>
<p>Not all of the troopers at the scene had their cameras on during the arrest, and Greene is not always visible in the available camera footage. The microphones are also not always on throughout the videos. And at one point, an officer actively turned his camera off. As a result, there are significant gaps in the details surrounding Greene’s death.</p>
<p>The video footage eventually shows Greene covered in blood and appearing unresponsive as he’s loaded into an ambulance. It’s not clear when Greene died, but it happened before arriving at the hospital.</p>
<p>As the AP reports, the troopers provided what appears to be some combination of incomplete and false information to medical professionals who handled Greene after the arrest:</p>

<p>Union Parish Coroner Renee Smith told AP last year his death was ruled accidental and attributed to cardiac arrest. Smith, who was not in office when that determination was made, said her office’s file on Greene attributed his death to a car crash and made no mention of a struggle with State Police.</p>
<p>The AP last year also obtained a medical report showing an emergency room doctor noted Greene arrived dead at the hospital, bruised and bloodied with two stun-gun prongs in his back. That led the doctor to question troopers’ initial account that Greene had “died on impact” after crashing into a tree. “Does not add up,” the doctor wrote.</p>

<p>Later the police <a href="https://apnews.com/article/lawsuits-us-news-ap-top-news-monroe-ar-state-wire-8149ba0410056b2f96b155b0d2e127d7">released</a> a single-page crash report which said that “Greene was taken into custody after resisting arrest and a struggle with Troopers,” It did not mention any use of force by troopers.</p>
<p>Ramsey, the former police commissioner, said on CNN, “If the reports are accurate ... it’s a cover-up, the statements being made are not consistent with what the video is showing.”</p>
<h2>Troopers have so far faced few repercussions for their actions toward Greene</h2>
<p>There were at least six troopers at the scene of the arrest, and there are seven defendants in the Greene family’s wrongful death lawsuit. But Louisiana State Police have been reluctant to make critical details public and the repercussions so far for those involved have been limited.</p>
<p>According to Louisiana State Police, the trooper who dragged Greene by his ankles, Kory York, was given a 50-hour suspension and returned to active duty, pending the outcome of state and federal investigations.</p>
<p>The officer who can be heard describing how he had beaten and choked Greene, Chris Hollingsworth, was notified last September that he was going to be fired as a result of an internal investigation into his handling of Greene’s arrest. Hollingsworth died <a href="https://apnews.com/article/police-us-news-la-state-wire-louisiana-monroe-0ad3c5761a0e5ea7f3ec1a67d5d10ac2">in a car crash hours afterward</a>.</p>
<p>And a third trooper, Dakota DeMoss, was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/09/us/louisiana-troopers-charged-false-arrests-excessive-force.html">arrested in February</a> in an unrelated case on charges of using excessive force. <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/21/us/ronald-greene-video-louisiana.html">According to the New York Times</a>, DeMoss remains on leave pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings but has been “notified of the agency’s intention to terminate him.”</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the federal investigation of the incident and the Greene family lawsuit are ongoing. And <a href="https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/crime_police/article_af140472-1401-11eb-9006-bb0838fe4cef.html">local protests</a> throughout last year — which took place against the backdrop of Black Lives Matter protests following the high-profile police killing of George Floyd — attempted to maintain attention on what local activists and Greene’s family alleged was a cover-up of police brutality. Now, with the widespread release of video footage, national scrutiny has been sparked.</p>
<h2>Body cameras can capture abuse, but don’t ensure anything will be done about it</h2>
<p>The handling of Greene’s death is a reminder that, as some progressive criminal justice reformers have pointed out, the mere existence of body cameras is no guarantor of justice for people who have been wronged by the police.</p>
<p>Body cameras for police officers have <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/body-cameras-are-seen-as-key-to-police-reform-but-do-they-increase-accountability">received bipartisan support</a> at the state and federal level and are often seen as a common-sense reform measure to enhance accountability for law enforcement.</p>
<p>But the reality is that the documentation provided by body camera footage alone doesn’t necessarily improve behavior. As P.R. Lockhart <a href="https://www.vox.com/2019/3/27/18282737/body-camera-police-effectiveness-study-george-mason">wrote for Vox</a> in 2019, “the research suggests that body cameras are only as successful as the departments they are implemented in.”</p>
<p><a href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/1745-9133.12412">According to a study</a> published in <em>Criminology & Public Policy</em> that year, in one of the largest reviews of academic research on body cameras to date, scholars at George Mason University found that, in many police departments, cameras have not had a consistent or significant effect on officer behavior or citizen opinion of the police.</p>
<p>And the existence of footage of police brutality or killings doesn’t alter the reality that law enforcement is <a href="https://www.vox.com/2021/4/21/22394134/derek-chauvin-george-floyd-trial-guilty-verdict-police-prosecution-investigation">structurally designed</a> to protect police officers from prosecution for misconduct. For example, <a href="https://www.vox.com/2021/4/11/22378584/maryland-police-reform-repealed-police-bill-of-rights">police killing investigations often move exceptionally slowly</a>, which criminal justice reformers say gives officers more time to conspire and fabricate a story as they prepare to be asked about alleged misconduct. And the frequent absence of civilian investigators makes investigations likely to be stonewalled by the “<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1985/06/16/weekinreview/the-unwritten-code-that-stops-police-from-speaking.html">blue wall of silence</a>” that encourages officers to avoid incriminating colleagues.</p>
<p>Even when alleged misconduct is examined in courts, <a href="https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/7/21/15983842/police-body-cameras-failures">video footage is often incomplete and ambiguous enough to create doubt</a> in juries. Moreover, the legal standard for use of force is so permissive that even compelling evidence won’t necessarily result in police convictions.</p>
<p>As President Joe Biden approaches <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/congress-will-likely-miss-deadline-floyd-police-reform-bill-advocates-n1268101">proposing criminal justice reform legislation</a>, advocates for more sweeping changes to policing are likely to emphasize the need to move beyond quick fixes like body cameras and look into dismantling <a href="https://www.vox.com/2021/4/11/22378584/maryland-police-reform-repealed-police-bill-of-rights">institutional arrangements</a> such as <a href="https://www.vox.com/2020/6/3/21277104/end-qualified-immunity-police-definition-george-floyd">qualified immunity</a> that are intended to shield police officers from being punished for the misconduct those cameras reveal.</p>
