CNN analyst fears Americans may ‘enjoy freedoms’ without getting Covid jabs, unless Biden ties re-openings to vaccination

CNN medical analyst Leana Wen sounded the totalitarian alarm, warning that Americans may take back their pre-pandemic freedoms without being vaccinated if the Biden administration doesn’t quickly make the jabs a precondition.
“We need to make it clear to them that the vaccine is the ticket back to pre-pandemic life,” said Wen, who was previously president of Planned Parenthood, the largest US abortion provider.
Wen lamented to CNN host Chris Cuomo that many states have begun to fully reopen their economies and remove Covid-19 restrictions, leaving a “very narrow window” to tie normalization of everyday life to vaccination status.

“Because otherwise, if everything is reopened, then what’s the carrot going to be?” Wen asked. “How are we going to incentivize people to actually get the vaccine?”

The troubling alternative, Wen added, is that “people are going to go out and enjoy these freedoms anyway,” which will leave the US vulnerable to a new surge of Covid-19 infections next fall. Wen’s comments come amid a global controversy over the so-called ‘vaccine passports’ that require citizens to show proof of their Covid-19 vaccinations to be able to access anything from sporting events to airline travel to shopping. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Friday signed an executive order banning vaccine passports to block creation of a two-tiered society with first- and second-class citizens based on inoculation status.
The CNN medical pundit’s authoritarian take on public health was chilling to many observers. “Unbelievably scary,” former acting director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell said. “They think we get our freedoms from the government.”

Naomi Wolf: Vaccine Passports Are The “End Of Human Liberty In The West”

The Left would like to dismiss Naomi Wolf as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naomi_Wolf">heretic and conspiracy theorist</a> now that she disagrees with their anti-liberty responses to coronavirus, but her warning about President Biden’s threatened “<a href="https://pjmedia.com/uncategorized/victoria-taft/2021/03/30/bidens-screw-america-terrible-trifecta-of-tyranny-begins-with-vaccine-passports-with-a-side-of-open-borders-n1435874">vaccine passports</a>” should be heeded.
Wolf, who started a<a href="https://dailyclout.io/"> tech site</a> that she says is meant to bring the right and left together, says the passport would divide people between haves and have nots: those who have had the COVID shot and those who have not. In her words, it “is literally the end of human liberty in the West if this plan unfolds as planned.”
Here’s what she means, in case you haven’t figure it out yourself.

Vaccine passports sound like a fine thing if you don’t know what those platforms can do. I’m CEO of a tech company, I understand what this platform does. Wolf told <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn2pbIdlaDk">Fox News host Steve Hilton</a> that Big Tech companies will oversee all of your personal information and intermingle it with information that government will use to determine if you’re eligible to be able to travel and do anything else in polite society. President Biden signed an <a href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/01/26/2021-01859/promoting-covid-19-safety-in-domestic-and-international-travel">executive order</a> in January to coordinate with other countries to track people to stop the spread of COVID.

Wolf says the move is nothing short of “catastrophic.”

In short, it’s not hard to imagine this passport turning into a version of China’s social credit scoring.
In China, if you do what the regime wants you to do, you are accorded points to allow more freedom of movement and other perks. In <a href="https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2018/11/2/18057450/china-social-credit-score-spend-frivolously-video-games">2018 Vox</a> reported on the expected rollout of the social credit system in 2020.

Under the system, both financial behaviors like “frivolous spending” and bad behaviors like lighting up in smoke-free zones can result in stiff consequences. Penalties include loss of employment and educational opportunities, as well as transportation restrictions. Wolf says it would violate the U.S. Constitution, the Americans With Disabilities Act, and HIPAA.
She says opponents need to fund a phalanx of lawyers to litigate every aspect of such a thing because if we don’t it would be the “end of civil society” in the west – unless you like a caste system, that is.

<h4>Video footage from a protest in New York City organized by the left-wing group Extinction Rebellion shows a hapless vandal attempting to scale the sheer facade of a Chase Bank building in Manhattan, only to lose his footing and fall to the street below, spilling black paint everywhere in the process.</h4>
In the footage, taken by local independent news service FreedomNewsTV, an individual clad in the “black bloc” attire typically associated with Antifa agitators and Black Lives Matter rioters can be seen attempting to climb the front of a Chase Bank building in Manhattan, while a compatriot applies black paint to the glass entrance.
A man can be seen repeatedly telling the vandal to “get down,” a command that goes unheeded. Protesters can be heard chanting to an off-key drumbeat in the background.
The protester then appears to struggle for a handhold and fails. As he slips downward, he trie to catch themselves on an awning to the right but is unsuccessful, plummeting some 10-15 to the ground and landing on the concrete sidewalk.

Fellow protesters immediately surge forward to check on their fallen comrade and desperately urge bystanders to “call 9-1-1.”
A pool of black paint quickly covers the ground next to the vandal and runs down to the street, prompting onlookers to jump back in alarm.

The last ships stranded by the grounding of a giant container vessel in the Suez Canal should pass through the waterway on Saturday, according to the canal authority, which said an investigation into the incident would report its findings soon.
Osama Rabie, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), said 85 ships were expected to pass the canal from both sides on Saturday. They will include the last 61 ships out of the 422 that were queuing when the Ever Given container vessel was dislodged on Monday, thus ending the backlog of shipping that built up during the crisis, he added.
International supply chains were thrown into disarray when the 400-metre-long (430-yard) Ever Given ran aground in the vital trade artery on March 23, with specialist rescue teams taking almost a week to free her after extensive dredging and repeated tugging operations.
An SCA investigation began on Wednesday into what caused the vessel to run aground in the Suez Canal and block the waterway for six days, Rabie told the MBC Masr private TV late on Friday.
"The investigation is going well‮ ‬and will take two more days, then we will announce the results," he added.

In a video that is viral, Mir TV weather reporter Nadezhda Serezhkina can be seen beginning a segment with the exciting news that spring was finally arriving in Moscow, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9430461/Moment-dog-star-TV-weather-report-Moscow-running-journalists-microphone.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail</a> reported. Just as Serezhkina began by saying, "Spring has arrived in Moscow, the temperature will be 8 degrees Celsius, nine degrees Celsius...," a dog decided it was time for some fun and jumped at her. Grabbing the handheld microphone, the cheeky pooch made a quick gateway.
Serezhkina soon chased after the dog, shouting "Stop, stop, come here." Serezhkina's colleague in the studio, Elina Dashkueva, was clearly taken aback by what happened but stifled a smile to quickly explain to the audience that "given all this" the connection was lost.

The adorable Retriever made a second appearance, this time with Serezhkina by his side. With the microphone firmly in hand, Serezhkina completed her bit on the weather, adding that it was the perfect time to walk one's dog. Might we add that the canine looked extremely content with his little escapade.
Sitting next to the dog, the reporter said "no-one was injured", but added that the microphone had taken "a bite or two". She ended the segment by shaking the dog's paw. Befitting, since there was no doubt he was the real star of the show.

Dhaka:
The Bangladesh government today decided to impose a week-long nationwide lockdown from Monday as COVID-19 cases and deaths surged across the country.
Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader made the announcement at a media briefing in Dhaka today, the Dhaka Tribune newspaper reported.
Bangladesh on Friday registered 6,830 new cases of the coronavirus, the highest count in a day, taking the tally of infections to 624,594. The number of deaths climbed by 50 in 24 hours to 9,155, according to data released by the government.
In a bid to arrest the spread of the coronavirus, the government has decided to enforce a seven-day lockdown from Monday as the coronavirus cases and deaths are surging across the country, Mr Quader, also the general secretary of the ruling Awami League, said.
However, the order does not apply to utility and emergency services.
Factories will remain open and workers can work shifts by following hygiene rules, the report said.
Every office and court will be closed during this lockdown but industries and mills will continue their operation on rotation, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain was quoted as saying by the Dhaka Tribune.
Asked why industries will not be closed, the minister said: "If we close the mills then the workers may have to leave their workstations and head for home."
Bangladesh on Wednesday registered a massive jump in new COVID-19 cases with 5,358 infections, the highest single-day increase since the pandemic broke out in the country in March last year, it said.
On Monday, the Prime Minister's Office in Bangladesh issued an 18-point directive, including a ban on all public gatherings in areas with high rates of infections.
In a gazette notification, it asked to limit gatherings in all types of events, including social, political and religious.
It also said that buses will not be allowed to carry passengers more than half of their seating capacity and have to maintain the safety COVID-19 safety guidelines.
