Tennessee Judge Establishes Eugenics As Official Policy For Prisoners

In a story out of a rural east Tennessee county, a judge has allowed for prisoners to reduce their sentences if they voluntarily sterilize themselves:<blockquote>Inmates in White County, Tennessee, can shave 30 days off their jail sentence if they undergo an elective birth control procedure.Both male and female inmates can volunteer for the new program. Women receive a Nexplanon implant in their arm, which provides up to three years of continuous birth control. Men undergo a vasectomy. The procedures are free and conducted by the Tennessee Department of Health.General Sessions Judge Sam Benningfield signed a standing order on May 15 enforcing the program.“I hope to encourage them to take personal responsibility and give them a chance, when they do get out, not to be burdened with children,” Benningfield told CNN affiliate WTVF. “This gives them a chance to get on their feet and make something of themselves.”Since the program started, 32 women and 38 men have volunteered. The men are currently waiting to have the vasectomies performed.“I understand it won’t be entirely successful, but if you reach two or three people, maybe that’s two or three kids not being born under the influence of drugs. I see it as a win-win,” Benningfield said.Not everyone is enthusiastic about the idea. This is in White County, Tennessee, which is a sparsely populated county in rural eastern Tennessee (there are over three times as many people in the suburban town which I grew up in than there are in the entire county, just for comparison). Nestled in the Appalachian mountains and while doing better comparatively speaking to its neighboring counties, it is still in located in both the poorest area in the state and within one of the poorest regions in the USA, having seen better days during the height of the coal mining industry. It is also almost 100% white, with most of the people in the area of homogenous English or Scotch-Irish descent.Taking an external view, it makes sense that this region would have eugenics introduced into it. Given the high rates of poverty, the lack of education and personal development rampant among many of the people, the isolation, and fact that most of the people living in these areas subsist solely off of welfare make it an obvious target for eugenicists because they are viewed at no differently than the impoverished urban-dwellers. However, it is not limited to solely urban areas. Indeed, many parts of Appalachia have welfare rate which mirror and in some cases are higher than those in urban areas. It is to such an extent that in some parts, blood plasma sales are the only source of income for some.However, no matter how rich or poor a man is, a man's value in the eyes of God comes from his soul and not his finances.It is a known fact that in the urban poor black communities, there is a tremendous amount of support for eugenics. This is especially clear with Planned Parenthood, whose admitted purpose is abortion services at taxpayer expense and whose clientele is almost entirely poor people, with the overwhelming majority of them being blacks. While abortion is high for all groups, it is staggeringly high for blacks, with a solid 50% or more of all abortions being of black babies, especially considering they constitute absolutely no more than 13% of the population. Yet if you mention this to blacks, you will find a consistent support of these policies in spite of the fact that they are literally wiping out their communities.It is less discussed, but the same sentiment exists in the poor communities of Appalachia too, and may even be stronger than in the cities. From what I have found, the people of Appalachia are just as ardent in their support of eugenics than their inner city counterparts except they are more articulate and direct in their calls for eugenics. There is a remarkable consistency among many of these people's opinions- that welfare should be made conditional upon mandatory sterilization, and that people who have children and go on welfare, if they are found to have "too many children" should be forcibly sterilized and their children confiscated, as well as for sterilizing people who are considered "idiots," "retards," "criminals," or "irresponsible."The first time I heard this for myself was some years ago when I met a relative who moved to the rolling hills of Virginia year the West Virginia line. His wife, who is related by marriage only to this relative grew up in mountains of Eastern Kentucky and was from a truly "native" Appalachian backwoods Appalachian family in the literal sense that she could be a stereotype for the "men from the hills" (while not being involved herself, she had members of her family who were very active in the snake handling churches of Appalachia, including and uncle who was a pastor of one of these churches). While no longer poor thanks to her husband, she typified the "can take the rat out of the ghetto but not the ghetto out of the rat" saying in that in true "hillbilly" stereotype, she could change on a person almost immediately and would carry long-standing feuds with others, including her own family. While it sounds strange and comical (and it certainly is), relatives from her husband's family who were offered a free home on their land (her husband was a very successful Truck Owner/Operator), they declined since they were afraid that if she became angry she might attempt to exact revenge by burning their house down while they slept (and she admits to threatening to do this to others, saying that burning down people's trailers was a common way of revenge in the deep backwoods of Appalachia).I don't remember the exact details of the conversation, but she mentioned something of eugenics that first time and I asked her to explain. She admitted everything I said earlier- that people who are retarded, dumb, want welfare or are otherwise regarded as "useless" need to be sterilized by the government and only "productive" people allowed to do reproduce, and to reproduce within limits. She was not for (at the time) a set number of children per family, but said that if a person had children and it was too hard to pay for them he needed to give up or have his kids taken away and himself sterilized. The biggest irony of this, as you might imagine, was that given her background, personal life, and family history, she would be one of the first people targeted for sterilzation or "elimination" by a government looking to carry out eugenics, but she could not see this (and thankfully, my relative vehemently disagreed with her on all of this).Another conversation that stands out to me was one I had with a man (I'll call him "J"), who was a black man from the backwoods of Appalachia on the Tennessee side and actually not too far from where White County (it is interesting to note that because of the fact that Appalachia was a place where for centuries  there are a lot of black people who live in Appalachia and who share the exact same cultural bonds, and many cases have literal blood ties with the whites of the area so much that they areMy conversation with "J" began following a discussion about his daughter, who he had adopted from his girlfriend. The girlfriend was a methamphetamine addict who abandoned her after she gave birth (and yes, the child is biologically J's) and J was raising her has a single father. J said that he supported 100% giving forced birth control or sterilizations to anybody on welfare, and that women (like his ex girlfriend) should lose their parental rights if they do drugs, are arrested, or are deemed "unfit" and as a part of the be sterilized. Likewise, given the situation into which J's daughter was born, as well as in which J himself once lived, he would find himself on the receiving end of policies he supports for "those people" if they were to be truly implemented.It does not matter whether you are in the cities or the country, what race you are as the National Socialist Claim, or what class you are as the Communists (the so-called "Cultural Marxists" as they are called today by the National Socialists) because the push for eugenics is everywhere in the USA, manifesting in different forms for different groups but all supported by the same philosophy that embodies a disdain for a human life and is about a quest for power at all costs.American society has had a love affair with eugenics that has increased and decreased in support as the cultural tides move yet has always persisted. It is not something that was "injected" into the society either from without, but has been with America since its beginning as a colonial outpost. The support for eugenics here is such a deeply ingrained part of the society that it was the USA which inspired the National Socialists' program of eugenics in Germany, for they simply mechanized and applied in a more efficient manner the ideas which were intellectually spawned by Americans. What she once did somewhat to herself and taught others to do is coming back to haunt her, beginning with the current generation (the Millenials) and will be made even more manifest in "Generation Z," which is currently in it teenage years. The prevalence of eugenics and the support for National Socialism among the youth is so strong that Andrew Anglin of tehe Daily Stormer has gone so far as to name them "Generation Zyklon," since it is his belief that they will carry "Der Führers" goal of the mass extermination of "unfit" people. Tell me how I can become a Christian too.""In the final moments of his life, this man repented and entered the Kingdom of God. I think that if I didn't have a family here in South Korea, I would have returned already and help the people in need."Every day, Kim prays that one day, everyone in North Korea will seek first the Kingdom of God. Sometimes, she gets discouraged, she admitted."I feel the same as many believers around the world where it seems like nothing is changing in North Korea," she told Open Doors. When I pray, I often ask God: 'What's the point? Why do you want me to keep on praying for North Korea?' But then God reminds me: 'You know North Korea better than anyone else. You know the people and their suffering. If you won't pray, who will? Rely on Me. Believe in Me.'"Open Doors has ranked North Korea as the most oppressive place in the world for Christians, #1 on the World Watch List. It's estimated that between 30,000 and 70,000 Christians are held in "kwanliso," or political labor camps."Christians are forced to hide their faith completely from government authorities, neighbors and often, even their own spouses and children," notes the outlet. "Due to ever-present surveillance, many pray with eyes open, and gathering for praise or fellowship is practically impossible. There is often a focus on bad news about the Church to the almost total exclusion of any good news."For a long time, Irish and British Catholics who might be described as orthodox or “conservative,” have been running into difficulties for their beliefs, both inside and outside the Church.What may be hinted at, here, but is not immediately apparent from the text, is that the latest wave of persecution is, by no means, confined to the orthodox and outspoken.For some time now, Catholics who publicly voiced concerns about any localized ambiguity in Church teaching— over, for example, the Divinity of Jesus or the sinfulness of contraception and homosexual acts—have been derided both by the media and within certain quarters of the Church.The carefully crafted media image of the “ideal Catholic” — from an aggressive secularist point of view — therefore, was exemplified by the former Catholic Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in 2009, when fielding a challenge about plans to legalize same-sex civil unions, from then Drogheda-based priest <a href="http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/irish_priest_reminds_justice_minister_of_catholic_teaching_on_marriage/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Father John Hogan</a>.Minister Dermot Ahern said, that he didn’t "bring whatever religion he has to the table," when he legislated, particularly as a Government minister.This sort of position used to be applauded by what Bishop William Crean of Cloyne, has referred to as Ireland’s <a href="http://www.fma.ie/Media%20Report%20Nov%208%202016.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">“political and media establishments.”</a>Fast forward eight years, and the very philosophy of “tolerance” once lauded by the establishment in 2009 and earlier, is no longer tolerated in 2017.It would be very unfair to Tim Farron, to suggest that, in common with the Irish former minister, he didn’t “bring whatever religion he has to the table” (in fact, Farron has a record of either abstaining or voting with anti-abortion groups in Parliament).But, by making it clear in his resignation speech that he was “a liberal to (his) fingertips” who did not consider himself to be one of those “Christians in politics who take the view that they should impose the tenets of their faith on society,” the Evangelical Christian was certainly promoting a position which, just a short time ago, would have been far more acceptable to the media establishment than it clearly is today.Indeed, in April of this year, an apparently exasperated Farron, defending himself in Parliament, claimed that he was <a href="http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/793784/tim-farron-gay-rights-abortion-voting-record-homsexuality-equal-marriage" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">“very proud”</a> to have voted in favor of the U.K.’s Gay Marriage Bill in 2013, adding that the then government “did not go as far as it should have done in terms of recognizing transgender rights.”But it is not only British politicians who appear bewildered by the new turn of events. In Ireland, priests and religious not known for their conservative views have expressed shock, not only at the extent but also at the focus of much of the recent anti-Catholic sentiment.Sister Stanislaus Kennedy a well-known popular figure with the Irish media had, for example, very publicly expressed her support for a ‘Yes’ vote in the gay marriage or so-called “equality” referendum in 2015. She is also in favor of contraception. But Sister Stanislaus is also a member of the Religious Sisters of Charity, an order which until recently owned and controlled three major hospitals in Ireland.Following a relentless media campaign against plans to allow the sisters to own the planned new National Maternity Hospital, which was to be built on their grounds, the order, in spite of having the effective support of some abortion advocates, decided to end their involvement in the management of all three of their Dublin hospitals and announced their intention to hand over control and ownership to a new group that would formally comply with Irish laws rather than Catholic medical ethics.Later, a surprised and hurt sounding Sister Stanislaus, told the national broadcaster RTÉ that “it was unfair to the Sisters of Charity, a lot of things that were said” and “it's not nice to hear your order criticized wrongly, really, accused wrongly. It's not nice.”Significantly, she added, "it was very much media lead all that stuff ... absolutely."The recognition of the media agenda against the Church by someone who would be seen as a “liberal/progressive” voice in the Church is marking an unusual point of unity between “liberals” and “conservatives”, in Ireland.A similar trend can be seen in religious education in Ireland.While conservative Catholics have long had much to complain about in terms of the poor standards of religious formation in Catholic schools, there is now a strong media campaign against laws decried as ‘discriminatory’ which, in reality, help protect the ethos of such schools, even where much of the damage to this ethos has already been done and has been self-inflicted — a Catholic school for girls in Dublin, for example, recently, decided to remove the cross from its insignia lest it would cause offence.This campaign is in parallel with moves to divest Catholic schools and transfer ownership to groups with a secular ideology.The message is clear, in Ireland and in Britain, alike, the persecution of the Christian faith has just been ratcheted up a notch. Christianity, no matter what form it takes, has now become unacceptable to the political and media establishments.Does this represent a scorched earth policy by the forces of secularism to pre-empt even the possibility of the return of an overwhelmingly faith-filled “Catholic Ireland” or “Dowry of Mary,” for example? It would certainly seem so.In any case, after several years of seeing people of faith not bringing their religious beliefs to the table of public policy, and being put to the top of the class for their tolerance, it now appears that not just the publicly expressed beliefs of Christians but Christians themselves, “domesticated” or otherwise, are no longer welcome at that table either.</blockquote>
