"They continued to hide their faith from the outside world, but I remember waking up one night when I was six. Our house was very small, so we all slept in the same room. When I opened my eyes, I saw my father and mother under the blanket and I could hear the soft noise of the radio. Later I learned they were listening to a broadcast from a Christian radio station."One day, she found a Bible hidden deep in a closet. Terrified, Kim considered turning her parents into the authorities; in the country, Christians are frequently sentenced to labor camps simply for owning a Bible."I was afraid to touch the Bible, but I couldn't just leave it there," she recounted. "I closed my eyes, picked up the book and put it back. I weighed my options. Should I tell my teacher? Should I visit the local security official? For fifteen days I couldn't think about anything else. I knew it was my duty to report this illegal book. But it was my family which was involved. And I also had all these questions: 'Who is this God? Or 'what'?'Finally, she asked her father about the forbidden book."He was very surprised and sat next to me," she said. "He asked me: 'Do you see those old trees?' I nodded. 'Who made those?' I said I didn't know and he explained the story of creation to me, including how God had made Adam and Eve."After that, Kim's mother began teaching her how to memorize Bible verses and the Apostle's Creed. Her father explained the full Gospel to her, and her grandfather taught her how to pray."It is just talking to God. Nothing more, nothing less," he'd tell her."To me all those stories and ideas were so interesting," she said. "I also read the Bible for myself. But I realized it was dangerous. My father always emphasized not to share anything with anyone else. Then he would start to pray in whispers, almost inaudible. 'Father, help the North Korean people to seek your Kingdom first'."Sometimes, Kim's father would meet people in a secret location, where they would pray together and discuss the Bible."When one of those visitors was dying, my father went to see him on his deathbed," she recalled. "He confessed: "I know everything about you, your family and your faith. I was a spy and ordered to watch you.""And?" my father asked."You are a good man. I never told anyone you were a Christian. Tell me how I can become a Christian too.""In the final moments of his life, this man repented and entered the Kingdom of God. My father was able to lead him there," she said.After Kim got married, she and her husband worked to care for the homeless in North Korea - but life became increasingly more difficult."Out of every three people, at least one of them was a spy," she said. "Because of our wealth-which was obtained through my father's profession and our relatives in China-we were labeled as 'followers of capitalism.' Afraid for our family's safety we left our 2-year-old son with my parents and fled the country."Today, Kim lives in South Korea with her family - but she hopes to one day return to her home country and share the Gospel."I wish I could go back to North Korea and share the Gospel with the people there and have fellowship with the local believers," she said. "I love their faith. I'd be ready to die for the Gospel. I think that if I didn't have a family here in South Korea, I would have returned already and help the people in need."Every day, Kim prays that one day, everyone in North Korea will seek first the Kingdom of God. Sometimes, she gets discouraged, she admitted."I feel the same as many believers around the world where it seems like nothing is changing in North Korea," she told Open Doors. When I pray, I often ask God: 'What's the point? Why do you want me to keep on praying for North Korea?' But then God reminds me: 'You know North Korea better than anyone else. You know the people and their suffering. If you won't pray, who will? Rely on Me. Believe in Me.'"Open Doors has ranked North Korea as the most oppressive place in the world for Christians, #1 on the World Watch List. It's estimated that between 30,000 and 70,000 Christians are held in "kwanliso," or political labor camps."Christians are forced to hide their faith completely from government authorities, neighbors and often, even their own spouses and children," notes the outlet. "Due to ever-present surveillance, many pray with eyes open, and gathering for praise or fellowship is practically impossible. Worship of the ruling Kim family is mandated for all citizens, and those who don't comply (including Christians) are arrested, imprisoned, tortured or killed."Kim Chung-seong, a defector from North Korea who spoke at the World Summit in Defense of Persecuted Christians in May, said the government fears the spread of the gospel."The one thing that the North Korean regime fears the most, and is afraid of, is the spreading of the Gospel," he said, according to the Catholic News Agency. "Because the Bible and the Gospel speaks the truth. Once the light shines in the dark room, there is light in the room.""They [the government] will do anything to prevent the spread of the Gospel in North Korea," he said, adding that the government even set up a "façade" organization called the Korea Christian Association to lure the believers."But] as you can see, we cannot block the sunlight with our hand," he said.</blockquote>

There is often a focus on bad news about the Church to the almost total exclusion of any good news."For a long time, Irish and British Catholics who might be described as orthodox or “conservative,” have been running into difficulties for their beliefs, both inside and outside the Church.What may be hinted at, here, but is not immediately apparent from the text, is that the latest wave of persecution is, by no means, confined to the orthodox and outspoken.For some time now, Catholics who publicly voiced concerns about any localized ambiguity in Church teaching— over, for example, the Divinity of Jesus or the sinfulness of contraception and homosexual acts—have been derided both by the media and within certain quarters of the Church.The carefully crafted media image of the “ideal Catholic” — from an aggressive secularist point of view — therefore, was exemplified by the former Catholic Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in 2009, when fielding a challenge about plans to legalize same-sex civil unions, from then Drogheda-based priest <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/irish_priest_reminds_justice_minister_of_catholic_teaching_on_marriage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Father John Hogan</a>.Minister Dermot Ahern said, that he didn’t "bring whatever religion he has to the table," when he legislated, particularly as a Government minister.This sort of position used to be applauded by what Bishop William Crean of Cloyne, has referred to as Ireland’s <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.fma.ie/Media%20Report%20Nov%208%202016.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">“political and media establishments.”</a>Fast forward eight years, and the very philosophy of “tolerance” once lauded by the establishment in 2009 and earlier, is no longer tolerated in 2017.It would be very unfair to Tim Farron, to suggest that, in common with the Irish former minister, he didn’t “bring whatever religion he has to the table” (in fact, Farron has a record of either abstaining or voting with anti-abortion groups in Parliament).But, by making it clear in his resignation speech that he was “a liberal to (his) fingertips” who did not consider himself to be one of those “Christians in politics who take the view that they should impose the tenets of their faith on society,” the Evangelical Christian was certainly promoting a position which, just a short time ago, would have been far more acceptable to the media establishment than it clearly is today.Indeed, in April of this year, an apparently exasperated Farron, defending himself in Parliament, claimed that he was <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/793784/tim-farron-gay-rights-abortion-voting-record-homsexuality-equal-marriage" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">“very proud”</a> to have voted in favor of the U.K.’s Gay Marriage Bill in 2013, adding that the then government “did not go as far as it should have done in terms of recognizing transgender rights.”But it is not only British politicians who appear bewildered by the new turn of events. In Ireland, priests and religious not known for their conservative views have expressed shock, not only at the extent but also at the focus of much of the recent anti-Catholic sentiment.Sister Stanislaus Kennedy a well-known popular figure with the Irish media had, for example, very publicly expressed her support for a ‘Yes’ vote in the gay marriage or so-called “equality” referendum in 2015. She is also in favor of contraception. But Sister Stanislaus is also a member of the Religious Sisters of Charity, an order which until recently owned and controlled three major hospitals in Ireland.Following a relentless media campaign against plans to allow the sisters to own the planned new National Maternity Hospital, which was to be built on their grounds, the order, in spite of having the effective support of some abortion advocates, decided to end their involvement in the management of all three of their Dublin hospitals and announced their intention to hand over control and ownership to a new group that would formally comply with Irish laws rather than Catholic medical ethics.Later, a surprised and hurt sounding Sister Stanislaus, told the national broadcaster RTÉ that “it was unfair to the Sisters of Charity, a lot of things that were said” and “it's not nice to hear your order criticized wrongly, really, accused wrongly. It's not nice.”Significantly, she added, "it was very much media lead all that stuff ... absolutely."The recognition of the media agenda against the Church by someone who would be seen as a “liberal/progressive” voice in the Church is marking an unusual point of unity between “liberals” and “conservatives”, in Ireland.A similar trend can be seen in religious education in Ireland.While conservative Catholics have long had much to complain about in terms of the poor standards of religious formation in Catholic schools, there is now a strong media campaign against laws decried as ‘discriminatory’ which, in reality, help protect the ethos of such schools, even where much of the damage to this ethos has already been done and has been self-inflicted — a Catholic school for girls in Dublin, for example, recently, decided to remove the cross from its insignia lest it would cause offence.This campaign is in parallel with moves to divest Catholic schools and transfer ownership to groups with a secular ideology.The message is clear, in Ireland and in Britain, alike, the persecution of the Christian faith has just been ratcheted up a notch. Christianity, no matter what form it takes, has now become unacceptable to the political and media establishments.Does this represent a scorched earth policy by the forces of secularism to pre-empt even the possibility of the return of an overwhelmingly faith-filled “Catholic Ireland” or “Dowry of Mary,” for example? It would certainly seem so.In any case, after several years of seeing people of faith not bringing their religious beliefs to the table of public policy, and being put to the top of the class for their tolerance, it now appears that not just the publicly expressed beliefs of Christians but Christians themselves, “domesticated” or otherwise, are no longer welcome at that table either.</blockquote>

Keep in mind, that the O.I.C represents the association of 56 Islamic states promoting Muslim solidarity in economic, social, and political affairs. But the devil is not wiser than Daniel who tells us: “And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people.” (Daniel 11:23)This “league” is a united Muslim states and the O.I.C plays a major role in this affair. From Saudi Iranian relations to expressing concern at the stand-off between India and Pakistan on Kashmir, Erdogan offered to get involved in settling many issues to bring this unity together.Erdogan now offers the OIC’s references to self-determination as a means to resolving differences not just over Qatar or Kashmir but other crises such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, the Palestinian problem, Iraq, Syria, the Kurdish issue, the Tibet, Taiwan all the way to Balochistan.Erdogan said that the OIC is the answer:<blockquote>“It (OIC) has its area of influence. It has economic and political strengths, it has a say in global matters and it can contribute to world peace. If something has been approved by all member-states, it should not be criticised or questioned. OIC members also have weight in the United Nations. Turkey supports India to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council.”</blockquote>Beware of anyone who uses flattery and says that they are for all religious rights. Erdogan uses flattery and offers of peace he is deceiving many:<blockquote>“We are not against any faith. We protect synagogues or churches from possible terror attacks but the West needs to reciprocate but it is not doing so.”</blockquote>But Erdogan wants to unite all religions in the region into a syncretist reality.Making a league involves much work which you will see coming on its way in the years to come. Turkey’s president has even called on all Muslim countries around the world to build efficient transportation networks in order to accelerate integration among themselves. “Reinforcing our cooperation in the field of transport – one of the six areas covered under the COMCEC Strategy – is important for facilitating trade between our member countries and accelerating integration,” <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://aa.com.tr/en/economy/erdogan-urges-muslim-states-to-build-transport-networks/815511">said</a> Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his opening statement at the 33rd meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Ankara.But we at Shoebat.com see the writing on the wall.
