Of course not," Adel said of the women's reaction. "If we had, they might have let us off the bus and treated us well. But we only want Jesus and we are confident he will not leave us."In response, IS robbed the women of their gold jewelry and mobile phones, taking what they described as the "spoils of war."Egypt's minority Coptic population has suffered greatly at the hands of the Islamic militants over the past year.Twin Palm Sunday bombings in Tanta and Alexandria in April killed 45 people, and there have been several other isolated attacks as well.Other survivors of the Minya massacre, such as 10-year-old schoolboy Mina Habib, have also opened up about their harrowing experience.Habib, whose father was one of IS' victims, told Reuters in June:"They asked my father for identification then told him to recite the Muslim profession of faith. He refused, said he was Christian. They shot him and everyone else with us in the car."The boy added, "Every time they shot someone they would yell 'God is great.'"Bishop Anba Makarios, the top Coptic Orthodox cleric in Minya governorate, has said that Christians will not take up arms despite such terrorist actions, Al-Monitor reported.Makarios explained that any arms training could make Christians the subject of further attacks."Some had previously accused the church of storing weapons, but the destruction of dozens of churches in different governorates across the country" in recent years "has proven conclusively that this is not true," the bishop said."Terrorists did not find any weapons, or they would have immediately revealed them. If churches had weapons stored on their premises, logically they would have used them to defend themselves during attacks."FT reported that more than 100 Christians have been killed since December. Emad Gad, a Christian member of the Egyptian parliament from a pro-government alliance, warned that there is "a strong possibility" that more attacks are coming."Security measures [may help] but the community is anxious and feels there is nothing it can do to protect itself," Gad said.Mokhtar Awad, research fellow at George Washington University's Program on Extremism, said that Islamic extremists still heavily blame Christians for supporting President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his crackdown on the terrorist-linked Muslim Brotherhood group."They have systematically incited against Christians and blamed them entirely for the coup and for the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood," Awad said."ISIS has arrived at a point when there is sufficient hatred against Christians that it can try to translate it into action." However, with the now large Muslim migrations to the West coordinated by Western elites themselves, Christians are finding themselves at the mercy of the same persecutors they have been fleeing.The situation is such now that there is rampant persecution and harassment of Christians in the migrant camps and the very nations they are fleeing to are doing little to nothing to help them according to a recent report:<blockquote>Christian refugees have been blocked from seeking asylum on the Greek mainland after fleeing Islamic persecution in the camps in the Greek Isles.Muslim persecution of Christians from Syria, Afghanistan, and other Muslim countries has run rampant in the Moria refugee camp on the Isle of Lesbos, according to the British Pakistani Christian Association (BPCA). Christians in the camp have received death threats, been barred from openly practicing their faith, and in some cases have been beaten and had their makeshift homes destroyed at the hands of Islamic radicals. Many Christians have fled for their lives to seek asylum on the mainland, but current Greek policy turned them back to the camp, according to Wilson Chowdhry, president of BPCA.“I would like to bring to your attention several reports of persecution that have been raised with the British Pakistani Christian Association, relating to persecution of Christians within the Muslim-majority … Moria Camp,” Chowdry wrote in an email to Dimitris Caramitsos, Greek ambassador to the U.K. “Christians are being prevented from holding church services, worshiping and praying by their Muslim neighbors. Moreover, reports of tents being burned down, violence, bullying, harassment and severe threats paint a very bleak picture of the quality of life for Christians caught up within the camp.”Chowdry sent the email to seek Caramitsos’ help in changing Greece’s policy concerning asylum for refugees, which sent many Christians back to the same camps where they have been persecuted, according to Christian Post.“The majority of Christian refugees escape but are being refused asylum by Greek authorities who only consider adverse health as a mitigating factor and not Christian persecution,” Chowdry’s email read. “We are seeking your help in obtaining a change in the current Greek policy in which the risk of proven re-persecution of Christians counts as a mitigating factor for asylum assessment for escapees of Moria Camp.”Many Christians who fled Lesbos but were denied asylum on the mainland became illegal immigrants, as they could only receive state assistance and legally apply for asylum if they returned to their refugee camp. Christians like Haroon Maqbool of Pakistan, who arrived in Lesbos in 2016 with two children, chose not to face the dangers of the persecution they had already escaped, according to BPCA.Maqbool attempted to register for asylum at the camp in Lesbos but was pushed to the back of the line with other Christian men by Muslims who said they would kill him and the others if they entered the camp. The U.S. is also operating without the permission of the Assad regime in Syria.But the latest display of Turkish anger at U.S. policy in Syria divulging secret locations of 10 U.S. military bases and outposts in northern Syria where the U.S. is leading an operation to destroy ISIS in Raqa has gone too far. The list published by the Anadolu news agency pin-points all U.S. presence from one end to the other of the Kurdish self-administration region—a distance of more than 200 miles. It included disclosing the types of U.S military operations housing artillery batteries with high maneuverability, multi-barrel rocket launchers, various mobile equipment for intelligence, and armored vehicles for general patrols and security. The Anadolu news agency even listed the number of U.S. troops in several locations and in two instances stipulated the presence of French special forces including the number of U.S. Special Forces troops stationed at two of the outposts.In the meanwhile Turkey is turning more Islamist. In the article Karaman disclosed plans for “Compulsory [Islamic] religious education, Koranic courses, Arabic and Ottoman lessons, Islamiziation of all schools, sharia education and finally compulsory worship services in all schools”.And today Turkish Education Minister İsmet Yılmaz followed order and declared that Turkish schools will now teach Jihad. You heard it right "teach Jihad warfare" to school kids. Yılmaz said: “Jihad is an element in our religion; it is in our religion… The duty of the Education Ministry is to teach every deserving concept correctly."The West is living a deception when it comes to Turkey. While western media admits that Turkey’s democracy under Erdogan is dying they, also <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jul/19/turkey-erdogan-turkish-democracy" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">trumpet</a> that such "brutal crackdown can’t last".So lets consider some facts. Today Turkey's definition of terrorism is written contrary to any dictionary; a friend of Turkey is considered "non-terrorist" while all who disagree with Turkey's policies are identified as "terrorist". So terrorism is now defined as "anyone who defies Erdogan".Think about this for a minute. To Erdogan the whole earth revolves around him and any opposition to this megalomaniac they are now 'terrorist'. Terrorism is not defined when one blows up civilians but when one hurts Erdogan's ego.And just this weekend ceremonies marking the anniversary of 15 July in which Erdogan <a class="u-underline" data-link-name="in body link" href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jul/15/erdogan-repeats-support-death-penalty-on-anniversary-of-turkey-coup-attempt" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="">whipped up public support</a> for punishing coup plotters with the death penalty and talked about “ripping the heads” off so-called traitors.Yet the media is always hopeful that Erdogan's iron-fist rule will soon come to an end. Media outlets got really excited when Turkey’s largest opposition party, the CHP, marched 280-mile walk from Ankara to Istanbul, calling it a “Justice March.”Many even inflated the numbers where some claimed 'one million' marched to oppose Erdogan while others claimed 'hundreds of thousands' and others claimed it was '40 thousand'. Reality was that the numbers were less than ten thousand. But when one views the pro-Erdogan July 15th rally it was nothing like anyone has seen, not even during Nazi Germany.<iframe class='youtube-player' type='text/html' width='640' height='390' src='http://www.youtube.com/embed/gKa-dJT_ozc?version=3&rel=1&fs=1&autohide=2&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&wmode=transparent' allowfullscreen='true' style='border:0;'></iframe>Over a decade ago the media thought that for Turkish democracy to flourish, there needed to be an emergence of a force strong enough to curb the power of the military. Erdoğan seemed, to western liberal observers, to be the answer.And instead of pleasing the West, Erdoğan then initiated his non-secular policies in 2007 and in 2010, a constitutional referendum gave Erdoğan’s government more control over the judicial system. Since then we said that Erdogan is fulfilling Daniel and is changing "set laws" and prosecutors began prosecuting secular high-ranking officers in the military while Erdogan began to slowly change the constitution to extend his presidency permanently which spells out 'Caliphate'.And this idea is not far-fetched. In 2015 Abdurrahman Dilipak, a deep operative for the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), posing as a writer, stated in speech given to AKP members in Toronto, that by switching to an executive presidency from a parliamentary democracy, Mr. Erdoğan would assume the title of caliph.And Erdoğan’s statements going back to 2014 he has aspired to become the next caliphate. A Caliph is a prophet ordained by Allah to provide just governance over all of Islam. The caliphate was abolished by the secularization of Turkey 99 years ago and one more year will commemorate a century with the Islamic world having no Caliph. Will Erdogan announce himself as Caliph next year remains to be seen.Erdogan belongs to Naqshbandi order, a major Sunni Sufi order. In late October 2014 Erdoğan stated it was his “grand design to recreate the Ottoman caliphate with the help of the Sunni jihadist army.”“Erdoğan used the image of the caliphate and traditional Islamic values to gain popularity in the Middle East, expecting to gain it all over the world,” observed Ali Vyacheslav Polosin, Deputy Director of the Fund for Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education.Mr. Polosin explained: “After Erdoğan became president he started positioning himself in image ads not only as the president of the Turkish Republic, but as a reader of the Quran, as though he radiates some nur, light. It is more an image of a caliph, a ruler of true believers, than the president of a republic, especially considering that Turkey has very great experience in this aspect. So the claims are not that groundless.”At 94, Kadir Mısıroğlu, who has worked with Erdoğan since the 1980s, has been staunchly anti-secularist – his opinions dating back to the founder and first President of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Atatürk – claiming that Turkey’s incursions into Syria and Iraq will empower Mr. Erdoğan to resurrect the Ottoman Empire and declare the caliphate.“In Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, other countries, the persona of Erdoğan is popular among Muslims and even ruling elites. That is why Turkey has its own game here,” opined Mujtaba Rahman, Europe practice head at Eurasia Group, and Julian Emanuel, in a Eurasia Risk 2015 analysis. He was 50.Masih was talking by phone outside the church building when assailants on a motorbike shot him, CCTV footage recovered by police shows. His son Anoop Masih, discovered him.“Anoop Masih heard the noise of shooting and came out of his room on the first floor,” Raj Kamal Masih, youngest brother of the pastor, told Morning Star News. “Seeing his dad lying on the road, he screamed and alerted everyone in the church building.”Pastor Balwinder Kumar told Morning Star News that at about 8:45 p.m., Pastor Masih was inside the church building when he received a call. He came outside the church gate talking on his mobile phone, and he was shot in the neck by two youths on a motorcycle, Pastor Kumar said.Family members believe it was a premeditated attack, with the assailants calling him and telling him to go outside.Pastor Vishnu Dev, a close friend of Pastor Masih, told Morning Star News that until recently there was no major opposition to the slain pastor, but that in May he “took a bold step” and led gospel meetings commemorating the 25th anniversary of his church’s founding. Pastor Kumar, whom Pastor Masih mentored, said representatives of Hindu extremist umbrella group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) objected to the event.“RSS activists arrived there and started accusing the pastor of forced conversions,” Pastor Kumar told Morning Star News. “They came to him to quarrel twice after the event, too.”The extremists were videotaping him as they accused him of paying people to convert to Christianity, he said.“The feud was not so very serious that he had to be killed like this,” Pastor Kumar said. “The RSS activists accused him that, ‘You Christians get paid for converting people. How much do you pay the converted?’ They were stiff and were not listening when Pastor Masih tried to explain it is not true.”The RSS members created a nuisance, but there was no fight, and they went away, he said.Pastor Dev said the slain clergyman had told him he was facing growing opposition.“He and his family are serving Christ for decades and they are at peace with everyone,” he said. “But four days before he was shot, I met him, and he told me, “Please pray for us, as we continue standing for Christ, many enemies are standing up against us. Please pray for us.”Doctors at Dayanand Medical College, where Pastor Masih was taken after he was shot, reported that he received three bullets: one in his chest, one close to the neck and chest, and another on his cheek close to the ear. Pastor Masih’s brother, Raj Kamal Masih, said the family was in shock.“My brother was a peace-loving man,” he said. “We don’t have any enmity towards anyone. Jalali is also a member of Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Islam Pakistan.“Upon hearing this, we sent a boy to Shahzad Masih’s home and asked him to come to the Popular Mobile Shop for clearing the issue,” Ahmed alleged in the FIR. “When Masih came there, we asked him about the accusation, to which he again started abusing and cursing the Holy Prophet. Some people who had gathered at the shop by then also witnessed the blasphemy done by Masih.”Ahmed alleged that the Christian boy “managed to escape from the shop.”Inspector Ahmad declined to comment on why he thought Masih had committed blasphemy or if he had admitted to it.“You know very well I cannot repeat the blasphemous words,” he said, avoiding questions as to what could have motivated the Christian to do such a thing.
