He was murdered by four men in front of his own children</p></div><p>A Christian man in Des Moines, Iowa, was surrounded by four men as he was in his car with his four children, and was horrifically executed in front of them. As we read from <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2017/04/24/murdered-man-spent-last-day-his-children-principal-says/306067001/">one report:</a></p><blockquote><p>Hours before Stephen Kim was killed Friday night in a parking lot on Des Moines' west side, he celebrated "culture day" with his three sons at Holy Family Catholic School.</p><p>The Burmese immigrant's two oldest children are first- and second-graders at the school. The youngest is set to start preschool in the fall, Holy Family Principal Martin Flaherty said.</p><p>Kim, 41, and his sons toured cultural exhibits created by students at the ethnically diverse school while the boys' mother, Esther, worked one of her two restaurant jobs. Like his wife, Kim worked two jobs to support his family and ensure his children could attend private school.</p><p>"He was just so earnest, and he wanted to do what was best for his kids and his family," Flaherty said. "He worked so doggone hard."</p><p>Hours later, at about 10:30 p.m., Kim was shot and killed while waiting to pick up his wife in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3523 University Ave. in what police believe was an attempted robbery.</p><p>"They essentially executed him in front of his kids," Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2017/04/22/police-investigating-des-moines-11-th-homicide-2017/305972001/">said in a news conference Saturday</a>.</p><p>Flaherty called Kim a kind, hard-working man who was determined to give his children a better life than <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2017/04/24/man-killed-front-his-kids-always-had-smile/306034001/">the one he fled in Burma</a>. Kim and his wife immigrated to America in December 2008 and later gained U.S. citizenship, according to the Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resource Center.</p><p>Part of his "American dream" was to make sure his children received a good education, Flaherty said. He frequently communicated with the school's administrators, despite a language barrier, to make sure he understood what was happening at school, according to the principal.</p><p>"He was absolutely determined to make sure his children had a good education," Flaherty said. "He was a committed father."</p><p>Due to their busy work schedules, Stephen and Esther Kim did not often get to take part in school activities, but the principal said Stephen Kim made a point of attending Friday's cultural activity.</p><p>Stations set up in classrooms featured food and cultural artifacts from different countries. Some members of the school's Burmese community wore traditional clothing, performed a dance and answered students' questions. Kim did not dance, but he watched with his youngest child at his side, Flaherty said.</p><p>Holy Family, a school of about 240 students located in Des Moines' Capitol Park neighborhood, has about 25 to 30 Burmese students. School staff talked to students about the killing Monday morning, starting with the Kim children's classes, Flaherty said.</p><p>"We're being very upfront and honest," he said. "We know they're going to hear about it, so we want to make sure we're being honest with them" to dispel rumors.</p><p>The school will provide counseling to students as long as needed, he said.</p><p>Kim was part of the Zomi ethnic minority from the Chin State, in western Myanmar, which was formerly Burma. Zomi number in the millions and can be found in India, Bangladesh and Myanmar. They are mostly Christian in a predominantly Theravada Buddhist region of the world.</p><p>After briefly living in Malaysia, Kim and his wife, who is also Zomi, came to the U.S. to escape the persecution they faced as a result of their faith and ethnic identity, said Henny Ohr, executive director of the Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resource Center in Iowa.</p><p>Kim and his wife both worked at Cool Basil restaurant in Clive. Kim had a second job at Windsor Windows in West Des Moines.</p><p>Esther Kim was coming from her second job at the Banana Leaf restaurant in West Des Moines when her husband was killed. The couple used the parking lot at the University Terrace apartments as a pick-up and drop-off spot for Esther Kim, who carpooled to work.</p><p>Kim was seated in his car with his three children in the backseat when at least four men approached the vehicle.</p><p>"He did what any parent would do, instinctually, and try to protect his children," Parizek said Saturday.</p><p>A <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://www.gofundme.com/stephen-kims-family" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">GoFundMe page </a>was set up to pay for the family's funeral and living costs.</p><p>Police have not publicly named any suspects in connection with Kim's death, one of two homicides in Des Moines over the weekend. Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2017/04/23/des-moines-man-dies-stab-wound-suspect-arrested/306018001/">a man was fatally stabbed</a> in the 1500 block of 13th Street. Police arrested a Des Moines man in connection with that homicide hours later.</p><p>This weekend's homicides put Des Moines at 12 homicides so far this year. The pontiff spoke about hatred which comes from the devil and love which stems from Jesus Christ, Crux relays.</p><p>"With his death and resurrection, [Jesus] rescued us from the power of this world, the power of the devil, and the prince of the world doesn't want this," said Pope Francis. "Because we were saved by Jesus, and the prince of the world doesn't want this, he hates us and provokes the persecution."</p><p>In addition, Pope Francis described martyrdom as a "grace from God, not courage." Just as it has been said that the country needs heroes, the Church also needs martyrs and other people who are committed to become witnesses for Christ even up to the point of death.</p><p>"What does the Church need today?" North Africa Is Entering Utter Chaos And Anarchy, And Its Thanks To American Foreign Policy

<p>The nation of Tunisia <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://www.stripes.com/news/middle-east/as-isis-grows-a-family-hurts-from-within-1.465082#.WP5V9FPytUM">is going into a state of chaos and anarchy.</a> Militants are roaming about, dividing families and forcing people to submit to their agenda. They use brute violence to instill fear into the hearts of the people, executing locals and having people provide for them food and provisions.</p><p>The militants are constantly looking for new territory to control and to spread chaos. In Egypt, ISIS militants have been butchering Christians; in Libya, the persecution of Christians has also been taking place as jihadists bring about destruction and lawlessness. North Africa is being devastated by these deviant terrorists."The instability in Libya and North Africa may be the most significant near-term threat to U.S. and allies' interests on the continent," Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, head of the Pentagon's Africa Command, told the Senate Armed Services Committee last month.</p><p>Thousands of jihadists could be entering Tunisia, and this would be the greatest force of instability in the North African country.  The jihadists are not just bringing in fear, but they are also bringing in political and ideological influence on locals. By exuding a presence of being valiant and selfless ghazis (Muslim warriors), many young men aspire to join their ranks, and to even kill those who oppose their agenda.</p><p>The violence has stirred up resentment amongst the populace towards government, since people perceive it as only exasperating the terrorists and provoking them to commit terrorist acts. For example, one local named Fadha Ghozlani has said: "Ever since my brother joined the army, our cousin wanted to kill him ...He brought the terrorists to our home."</p><p>In Tunisia, there is competition between ISIS and al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, with the two groups vying for recruits and territory. But many al-Qaeda fighters have splintered and formed a new terrorist gang: <em>Jund-al-Khilafah</em>, or "the Soldiers of the Caliphate." According to security officials, there are only several hundred jihadists roaming in the mountains of  Tunisia. Some are from Algeria,Mauritania and West African countries, but most are local Tunisians. "The security situation is improving," said Yasser Mesbah, an Interior Ministry spokesman. "But we can't say the threat is over." Patrice Bergamini, the European Union's ambassador to Tunisia, warns:</p><blockquote><p>"The bigger issue, not just for Tunisia, but for all of us, is this: What about the guys who have not left the state to fight? ...They are like ticking bombs."</p></blockquote><p>An imam named Mafoud Bin Daraie has been working to stop youths in the Kasserine area from joining the terrorist groups, and because of this militants have been wanting to kill him. "They tried to kill me because I spoke out against them," Daraie said, after police prevented an assassination attempt on him. In the same area, a nine hour battle took place between security forces and terrorists. Two gunmen were killed. Last year, jihadists accused a poor shepherd named Najib Guasmi, of being an informant for the security forces. "They killed him with a bullet to his head," said his brother, Hadi.</p><p>The killers have also placed mines which have killed several people. Tunisian terrorists have been traveling to Syria to fight against the Assad regime, and have been returning back to their country to war against the State of Tunisia. One government officer said, while holding his rifle, that "There are fighters everywhere... But we don't have the necessary means and equipment to fight them."</p><p>The violent chaos in North Africa is greatly the result of US foreign policy. The United Stated provided weapons to Syrian and Libyan rebels to wreak havoc in those lands. <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="/2012/12/16/syrian-rebels-now-have-chemical-weapons/">As we reported back in 2012,</a> Syrian rebels were in fact taking chemical weapons from Libya after Gaddafi was murdered by US backed rebels:</p><blockquote><p>The rebels have seized chemical weapons, and they are willing to use them on innocent people. According to <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.elaph.com/Web/news/2012/12/778492.html?entry=arab">Russia Today</a>, Syrian rebels have obtained chemical weapons from Libya and are planning on using them on civilians, and then blaming it on Assad. This is an effort between the Syrian rebels and their allies in Turkey, alongside cooperation with Libyan rebels under Abdel Hakim bel Haj.</p></blockquote><p><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="/2014/04/09/cia-involved-benghazi-attack/">In another report published in 2014 on shoebat.com</a>, it reads:</p><blockquote><p>In early 2012, the Obama administration, along with the administration of Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reached an agreement that would have Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia provide funding for an operation run by then CIA Director David Petraeus (the Petraeus Operation), according to Hersh’s report. The US, alongside NATO forces, destabilized North Africa, and is thus responsible for the slaughter of Christians that has been going on there.</p><p>The destabilization of North Africa and the Middle East is what led to the persecution of Christians by ISIS and other jihadists, and the migration crises which has led to the political shift in Europe towards populist nationalism. Marine Le Pen made into the second round in the French election, taking 21.3% of the vote, and she will be facing the popular Emmanuel Macron, who took 24% of the vote. It doesn't matter who takes the victory in this election, its a win-win for Germany. If Le Pen wins, she will pursue a referendum to get France out of the EU; and if France leaves the EU, then Germany, similar to what happened after Brexit, will make the excuse that poor Deutschland has been abandoned by its friends and needs to look after itself and build up its own military for its own self-defense.</p><p>If Macron wins, then what you will have is a openly pro-Germany politician in the French government.“I had an interlocutor who was very open to a stronger French-German partnership, particularly at this important moment for Europe,” Macron <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.politico.eu/article/emmanuel-macron-plan-win-germany-france-election-2017/">said</a>. Macron is being looked favorably by both Christian Democrats and the Social Democratic Party. One Macron aid said: “We did our best to reassure the Germans on this point by pointing out that the candidate has the support of dozens of elected officials and a popular movement of more than 200,000 supporters ... He will get a majority, and he will use it to carry out his plan to the letter. Remember that unlike the other candidates Emmanuel does not owe anyone favors. "What they are doing is not Islamic. The real Islam doesn't promote terrorism."</p><p>The Washington Post reported on Saturday that at least 100 Indians are known to have left their families to go fight for IS in its wars in Syria, Iraq, and elsewhere, which is only a small fraction of the number of foreign fighters that the extremists have recruited in total.</p><p>Indian officials recently noted that 19 adults and three children left the country to settle in the IS-held Nangahar province in Afghanistan.</p><p>IS' presence in Afghanistan, which has long battled other Islamic extremist groups for control of the country, was brought to the forefront of international attention on April 13, when U.S. forces dropped a Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb on a cave complex there, killing 94 suspected terrorists, including 13 Indian nationals.</p><p>Like Hamza, other Indian families whose relatives have joined IS have accepted that their loves ones have been radicalized, and that they will likely never see them again.</p><p>K. Madhu, a civil police officer from Kerala who knows some of the families the IS recruits came from, said that their choice is "kind of blind belief."</p><p>"All these people were very rich. They didn't need money. They were going to give up all material pleasures for a medieval lifestyle, to live like shepherds," the police officer said.</p><p>Hamza, who owns a hotel and restaurant in Mumbai, revealed that he received a text message from a nephew who also appeared to have left to fight for IS.</p><p>"We are not going to come back. We are devoted to [Islamic State leader] Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. We'll meet again in paradise," the text message reportedly read.</p><p>Hamza's wife, Hafsath, said that she believes certain religious education took her sons "to an extreme level."</p><p>"I'm scared. I'm frightened. I'm also worried about the small children, their lives," the mother said. "I don't understand why they have chosen that place. I feel angry at times, but I still want them to come back." This is critical, becausa Christian fights for the souls of men first- including that of our enemies. While Islam is a evil religion and will always be, as long as they live there is hope for the Muslim people to come to Christ and receive forgiveness. Indeed, renoucing the violence of Islam is part of the way to embracing Christ.</p><p>Second, and speaking of forgiveness, notice how these parents simply write off their own family who join ISIS. Now while it is important to set strong boundaries and to distance oneself from evil acts, at the same time one must never simply write people off no matter how evil they are. Indeed, there are many great saints throughout history- such as St. Augustine- who became great saints because of the prayers of their family even while they were astray.</p><p>God is perfect mercy and perfect justice. Muslims Threaten Christian Pastor With Death After They Murder His Mother, Destroy His Church, His House And His Farm

<p>Muslims threatened a Ugandan pastor with death after they murdered his mother, destroyed his church, his home and his farm. As we read in <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://morningstarnews.org/2017/04/muslim-extremists-destroy-pastors-farm-church-building-eastern-uganda/">one report:</a></p><blockquote><p>A pastor in eastern Uganda is without his home, farm and church building after Muslim extremists armed with swords and clubs rampaged through his property on March 27, he said.</p><p>The band of nine Muslims, who also carried blunt metal objects, were shouting the jihadist slogan “<em>Allah Akbar</em> [God is greater]” as they invaded pastor Christopher James Kalaja’s land in Nakabale village, Kaderuna Sub-County, he told Morning Star News.</p><p>“As they were approaching, they were shouting ‘<em>Allah Akbar</em>’ and immediately started cutting down the trees on my farm, and thereafter pulled down the church building,” the married father of six children said. “I then took off for the sake of my life.”</p><p>Pastor Kalaja, of Agape Sanctuary International Church, reported the case to Kaderuna police, but officers initially took no action, he said. Unable to elicit any police help, the pastor on March 28 filed suit in Budaka District court, in which he listed the gang leaders as Dongo Patrick and Subairi Kasabu.</p><p>The legal action prompted police to visit the site, and they then summoned the suspects, filing a case on March 28, he said.</p><p>“Since then, I have been receiving threats that they will come for my life, that they will soon destroy me completely,” Pastor Kalaja told Morning Star News.</p><p>Police have not arrested any suspects, he said. The first hearing in the court case was postponed on April 13 until later this month. Pastor Kalaja said that except for a cousin among the assailants, he does not personally know anyone in the gang that drove him from his home.</p><p>Residents of the predominantly Muslim area opposed a church building under construction on his farm, but he said they have persecuted him for decades.</p><p>“My outreach to Muslims has led to all these fights that I have been receiving from the Muslims,” he said. “These people have been hunting for me since the early ’80s. And as a result, they even managed to kill my mother by poisoning, and after the death of my mother, they went ahead and killed my livestock. They are provoking me to leave the area.”</p><p>Though forced to file a court case due to police inaction, Pastor Kalaja is not able to cover the costs of an attorney, he said. He and his family have taken refuge in the thatched hut of a friend.</p><p>Police were unavailable for comment.</p><p>Pastor Kalaja has been leading his congregation of 86 members for 10 years. He said a similar attack took place in 2008. At that time the suspects were summoned to the sub-county headquarters of Kaderuna, and the Muslim leaders apologized for trespassing.</p><p>“Things normalized, but this time round they are out to kill me,” he said.</p><p>The destruction last month was the latest of many attacks by non-state figures on Christians in eastern Uganda. Uganda’s constitution and other laws provide for religious freedom, including the right to propagate one’s faith and convert from one faith to another.</p></blockquote>
