The attacks have occurred even as Nigerian military officers continue to proclaim defeat of the Islamists, a claim Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari first said in late 2015.The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Samson Supo Ayokunle, called the Fulani attacks “Boko Haram in another color.” Fulani herdsmen have also wounded 215 and displaced 10,000 Christians since May, CAN leaders said.The Jubilee Campaign for religious freedom issued a statement Nov. 9 noting the herdsmen have become increasingly murderous and bold.“The Fulani militants have gotten little international attention due to a focus on the Boko Haram, allowing their activities to grow unchecked,” Jubilee said. “They typically kill villagers, burn villages and move in with their cattle so that any survivors from the attacked villages are unable to return and rebuild their lives. Christian communities have been especially attacked and displaced.”In the latest attacks, heavily armed Fulani herdsmen began killing Christians Nov. 23 in Pasakori village and continued attacks days later in the nearby villages in the Gidan Waya District of Kaduna, area resident and ECWA member Joshua Aku told Morning Star. However, I do not see trouble so much as the hand of God working in a way that perhaps might be overlooked.They say that God works in very strange ways, and this looks like one of those ways to me. If God's ways look strange to us, then our ways must look not only stranger to God, but pitiable.Certainly Islam is a violent and deadly religion, a supremacist death cult and the culmination of all Christian heresy. It is why sacred scripture so clearly states to love your enemies and pray for them so that you may be children of your Father in Heaven, not to generate hatred against men to achieve secular pagan political aims for the purpose of money and power.Loving Muslims, especially barbarians such as those of ISIS, is hard to do. Justice will have to be made, as love without justice is license. Yet as I have consistently pointed out, love without mercy is legalism. This is the message of Divine Mercy, that God established before His creation two ways through which they can come to Him- the first is His mercy, and the latter is His justice, and as scripture notes, "If you were to judge us, O God, who would survive?"And never, ever forget that God is always in control, and ultimately, Islam will be defeated. Their villages have been taken over and the Fulani now live there. We see that as religion cleansing because the people of Godogodo and Gidan Waya are predominantly Christians. The Fulani, who are predominantly Muslims, are armed with guns, yet nobody is arresting them. This is most disturbing. I wonder why the government refers to people it knows as unknown gunmen.”He added: “The people that came to visit me on the issue at the National Christian Centre said they know the perpetrators and that they live among them. And when they left for Kaduna, they met seven of their community members in a pool of blood.“We have a government. It should take action, rather than addressing the issue on television, claiming everything is in order when we know it isn’t. The law enforcement agencies should not look the other way in Kaduna; they should care about the souls wasted daily, because none of them in government or uniform wants to be killed in the same manner. Government is to defend the people, protect them and give them opportunity.”Urging Christians and other Nigerians to show love to one another, he said: “We need to go back to God’s kind of love. In love, there is no wickedness. There is no hatred. Love binds things together. We should not continue to emphasise things that divide us but things that unite us because we have no other land we call ours. We are to live together.
