<h3>The pilot of the infamous flight MH370 of Malaysia Airlines that disappeared in March 2013, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, has mysteriously reappeared in a Taiwan hospital on Monday, suffering from severe dehydration and some type of amnesia.</h3>
The 53-year-old pilot was transported at the Taipei Adventist Hospital by a couple of villagers from a nearby town. They claimed to have found the man while he was  lying unconscious on the banks of the Tangshui River.
He finally woke up almost 16 hours after arriving at the hospital, but couldn’t remember his name or how he arrived in Taipei. He was rapidly identified, however, thanks to his fingerprints, instantly attracting a lot of attention from the media and from various Asian governments.
The doctors who have been treating since his arrival believe that he may be suffering from regressive amnesia, caused by a major stress or life-threatening situation.

<h4>“The patient seems to have undergone a lot of stress lately, and the amnesia is probably an unconscious self-defense mechanism,” claims Dr. Syed Boon Sulong. “The patient is still very weak and sick, and his brain seems to be blocking access to a certain part of his memory, in order to protect him from pain that these memories could generate. His health is too fragile for the moment, but over time, he should able to remember everything.”</h4>

Dr. Sulong says that it is impossible to say how long it will take before his patient is able to regain his memory, but he is convinced that over time, he should be able to overcome his amnesia.

Many people hope that Captain Shah will now be able to bring answers concerning Malaysia Airlines ‘s Boeing 777-200ER, that disappeared on 8 March 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Despite all the efforts of the international community, the faith of the infamous flight remains unclear, almost 2 years after the events. Hopefully, as Mr. Shah recovers his memory, he should be able to bring answers to many questions concerning the 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations that were on board.

Though much has been said regarding the devastation and havoc wrought by the Mexican drug cartels, most Americans know very little about the well-organized criminal enterprises, or the extent of their operations inside the United States.
That may be about to change though, thanks in large part to a report released recently by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration titled the <a href="http://www.dea.gov/docs/2015%20NDTA%20Report.pdf" target="_blank">2015 National Drug Threat Assessment Summary</a>.
The lengthy report details the immense power and structure of the groups that are responsible for the overwhelming majority of heroin, meth, cocaine and marijuana that is trafficked into the country on a seemingly never-ending basis.
“Narcotics are the biggest black market earner of all,” wrote Ioan Grillo, a researcher and author with an abundance of knowledge regarding Central American drug cartels.
“Estimated to be worth more than $300 billion a year, the global industry has pumped huge resources into criminal empires decade after decade.”

The most powerful and wealthiest of these organizations that profit off America’s insatiable appetite for illicit drugs is the <a href="http://conservativetribune.com/obama-admin-met-with-drug-cartels/" target="_blank">Sinaloa cartel</a>, whose main base of operations is in the Sinaloa state along Mexico’s Pacific coast.

This cartel, formerly run by the infamous Joaquin “<a href="http://conservativetribune.com/el-chapo-captured-shootout/" target="_blank">El Chapo</a>” Guzman, is believed to be responsible for more than 80 percent of the various drugs that are trafficked through the Chicago area.
The Sinaloas dominate much of the continental United States, with only New Mexico and Texas falling under the control of rival outfits.
The next most powerful Mexican drug cartel is that of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, a former part of the Sinaloa cartel that splintered off to become what is widely regarded as the fastest growing cartel in Mexico.

The JNGC is controlled by a man known as “El Mencho,” who is now believed to have taken the top spot as Public Enemy No. 1 following the recent downfall and capture of Guzman.
One of the oldest cartels in Mexico is that of the <a href="http://conservativetribune.com/threaten-volunteers/" target="_blank">Gulf Cartel</a>, which, as the name implies, operates along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as much of southern and eastern Texas.

The Gulf Cartel was one of the first organizations to essentially militarize themselves, bringing the violent drug war to an entirely new level.
The <a href="http://conservativetribune.com/fired-chopper-trump-right/" target="_blank">Los Zetas Cartel</a> was once a part of the Gulf Cartel, serving as elite enforcers until eventually breaking away and forming their own group.

Originally composed of Mexican military defectors, the tactically trained group is regarded by the DEA as “the most technologically advanced, sophisticated and violent of these paramilitary enforcement groups.”
Though the Zetas concentrate less on drug trafficking and more on other types of crime, they nevertheless pose a threat as they have partnered with various American gangs and other Central American drug traffickers.
Another group that has appeared in various locations inside the U.S. is that of the Knights Templar, a small cartel largely located in the Michoachana state in central Mexico.

Though the violent group does raise concerns, it has been wracked by internal struggles and faces stiff opposition in Mexico from rival cartels and a local populace that has risen up and armed themselves as vigilante groups to take back their towns and villages from the criminal organizations.
Then there is the Juarez Cartel, which is based in the north-central Mexican state of Chihuahua and exerts control over much of New Mexico and eastern Texas, especially around El Paso.

Though the Juarez Cartel has succumbed to pressure from the Sinaloa Cartel and given up much of its drug trade, it is still considered one of the more dominant organizations in the region, and is suspected of cooperating with international terrorist organizations like the <a href="http://conservativetribune.com/obamas-fbi-hide-isis-camp/" target="_blank">Islamic State group</a>.
Finally, there is the Beltran-Leyva Organization, formerly enforcers for the Sinaloas that broke off to form their own unit around 2008.

With most of the top leaders of the organization captured or killed, the BLO is much less of a threat than it was at its peak, but still presents a problem because it is active in several U.S. cities and havs partnered with Colombian drug traffickers.
These Mexican drug cartels are ruthless organizations that often rival the Islamic State group with their horrific and barbaric brutality.
The fact that these murderous criminal organizations are taking advantage of the lax border security and sanctuary cities that have flourished under President Barack Obama’s administration is not lost on conservatives, and at least partially serves as an example of why billionaire businessman <a href="http://conservativetribune.com/drug-lord-threatens-trump/" target="_blank">Donald Trump</a> is proving so popular in the presidential race.

Why Is Marijuana Banned? The Real Reasons Are Worse Than You Think

Across the world, more and more people are asking: Why is marijuana banned? Why are people still sent to prison for using or selling it?
Most of us assume it’s because someone, somewhere sat down with the scientific evidence, and figured out that cannabis is more harmful than other drugs we use all the time — like alcohol and cigarettes.
Somebody worked it all out, in our best interest.
But when I started to go through the official archives — researching my bookChasing The Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs — to find out why cannabis was banned back in the 1930s, I discovered that’s not what happened.
Not at all.
In 1929, a man called Harry Anslinger was put in charge of the Department of Prohibition in Washington, D.C. But alcohol prohibition had been a disaster. Gangsters had taken over whole neighborhoods. Alcohol — controlled by criminals — had become even more poisonous.
So alcohol prohibition finally ended — and Harry Anslinger was afraid. He found himself in charge of a huge government department, with nothing for it to do. Up until then, he had said that cannabis was not a problem. It doesn’t harm people, he explained, and “there is no more absurd fallacy” than the idea it makes people violent.

But then — suddenly, when his department needed a new purpose — he announced he had changed his mind.
He explained to the public what would happen if you smoked cannabis.
First, you will fall into “a delirious rage.” Then you will be gripped by “dreams… of an erotic character.” Then you will “lose the power of connected thought.” Finally, you will reach the inevitable end-point: “Insanity.”
Marijuana turns man into a “<a href="http://theinfluence.org/pulp-posters-from-the-mid-century-show-loose-women-getting-high/" target="_hplink" data-beacon="{"p":{"mnid":"entry_text","lnid":"citation","mpid":0}}">wild beast.</a>” If marijuana bumped into Frankenstein’s monster on the stairs, Anslinger warned, the monster would drop dead of fright.
Harry Anslinger became obsessed with one case in particular. In Florida, a boy called <a href="http://www.thursdayreview.com/VictorLicataPot.html" target="_hplink" data-beacon="{"p":{"mnid":"entry_text","lnid":"citation","mpid":1}}">Victor Licata</a> hacked his family to death with an axe. Anslinger explained to America: This is what will happen when you smoke “the demon weed.” The case became notorious. The parents of the U.S. were terrified.
What evidence did Harry Anslinger have? It turns out at this time he wrote to the 30 leading scientists on this subject, asking if cannabis was dangerous, and if there should be a ban.
Twenty-nine wrote back and said no.
Anslinger picked out the one scientist who said yes, and presented him to the world. The press — obsessed with Victor Licata’s axe — cheered them on.
In a panic that gripped America, marijuana was banned. The U.S. told other countries they had to do the same. Many countries said it was a dumb idea, and refused to do it. For example, Mexico decided their drug policy should be run by doctors. Their medical advice was that cannabis didn’t cause these problems, and they refused to ban it. The U.S. was furious. Anslinger ordered them to fall into line. The Mexicans held out — until, in the end, the U.S. cut off the supply of all legal painkillers to Mexico. People started to die in agony in their hospitals. So with regret, Mexico sacked the doctor — and launched its own drug war.

But at home, questions were being asked. A leading American doctor called Michael Ball wrote to Harry Anslinger, puzzled. He explained he had used cannabis as a medical student, and it had only made him sleepy. Maybe cannabis does drive a small number of people crazy, he said — but we need to fund some scientific studies to find out.
Anslinger wrote back firmly. “The marihuana evil can no longer be temporized with,” he explained, and he would fund no independent science. Then, or ever.
For years, doctors kept approaching him with evidence he was wrong, and he began to snap, telling them they were “treading on dangerous ground” and should watch their mouths.
Today, most of the world is still living with the ban on cannabis that Harry Anslinger introduced, in the nation-wide panic that followed Victor Licata’s killing spree.
But here’s the catch. Years later, somebody went and looked at the psychiatric files for Victor Licata.
It turns out there’s no evidence he ever used cannabis.
He had a lot of mental illness in his family. They had been told a year before he needed to be institutionalized — but they refused. His psychiatrists never even mentioned marijuana in connection to him.
So, does cannabis make people mad?
The former chief advisor on drugs to the British government, David Nutt, explains — if cannabis causes psychosis in a straightforward way, then it would show in a straightforward way.
When cannabis use goes up, psychosis will go up. And when cannabis use goes down psychosis will go down.
So does that happen? We have a lot of data from a lot of countries. And it turns out it doesn’t. For example, in Britain, cannabis use has increased by a factor of about 40 since the 1960s. And rates of psychosis? They have remained steady.
In fact, the scientific evidence suggests cannabis is safer than alcohol. Alcohol kills 40,000 people every year in the U.S. Cannabis kills nobody — although Willie Nelson says a friend of his did once die when a bale of cannabis fell on his head.

This is why, in 2006, a young man in Colorado called Mason Tvert issued a challenge to the then-mayor of Denver and eventual governor, John Hickenlooper. Hickenlooper owned brew-pubs selling alcohol across the state, and it made him rich. But he said cannabis was harmful and had to be banned. So Mason issued him a challenge — to a duel. You bring a crate of booze. I’ll bring a pack of joints. For every hit of booze you take, I’ll take a hit of cannabis. We’ll see who dies first.
It was the ultimate High Noon.
Mason went on to lead the campaign to legalize cannabis in his state. His fellow citizens voted to do it — by 55 percent. Now adults can buy cannabis legally, in licensed stores, where they are taxed–and the money is used to build schools. After a year and a half of seeing this system in practice, support for legalization has risen to 69 percent. And even Governor Hickenlooper has started calling it “common sense.”
Oh — and Colorado hasn’t been filled with people hacking their families to death yet.

A Muslim man in Ohio of Somali origin, named Mohamed Barry, stormed a restaurant with a machete and struck and injured four people. According to CNN, Barry, a 30-year-old man of Somalian origin, stormed the restaurant and stabbed four people. NBC Columbus reports that the “four people were taken to the hospital with injuries, including one person who was taken to Grant Medical Center in life-threatening condition.” The latter has since been downgraded to stable.While trying to flee, Barry was shot and killed by police.
“(He) immediately began swinging a machete at customers and employees inside,” Columbus police Sgt. Rich Weiner told CNN. “There was no rhyme or reason as to who he was going after as soon as he walked in, according to some of the witnesses.”
Federal investigators are now investigating to see if Barry was inspired to commit a “lone wolf” attack by the Islamic State, reports Fox 8 Cleveland.
ISIS internet channels have made no comment on the attack but it carries similarities to the San Bernardino shooting at the Inland Regional Center in early December.CNN reports that Barry was seen entering the restaurant 30 to 45 minutes and speaking to an employee prior to attacking it.
Syed Farook, one of two ISIS-inspired Americans who carried out the shooting in California, similarly visited the crime scene before leaving and returning with his wife, Tashfeen Malik, and weapons.

In the El Limón Rance, which lies in the Mexican state of Veracruz, in the town of Tlalixcoyan, <a href="http://www.animalpolitico.com/2016/02/caso-tierra-blanca-hallan-casi-tres-mil-fragmentos-de-restos-humanos-en-un-rancho-de-veracruz/" target="_blank">almost three thousand fragments of human corpses were discovered</a>, leading investigators to believe that around three hundred bodies were buried on this very spot. The three thousand human remains were found after three days of investigation by forensic experts. The investigation was launched after locals began to make reports on the bodies to authorities. One Mexican source stated:

The experts in forensic anthropology were working three days in the area… [They] then processed parts that have been found. This was a site that was being used for such activities
</blockquote>
Among the fragments collected range from pieces of bone to other objects that are present in human corpses, such as blood.The problem for the experts is that much of the fragments found are in a state of significant deterioration, making it difficult to be processed and identified with conventional forensic evidence. Most notably, bone fragments were calcined.
Because of this, investigators have not been able to say exactly how many bodies belong to the three thousand fragments found at the ranch, but officials estimate it could be hundreds of victims. So far, from a pair of bones and a bloodstain, it was possible to identify two victims, youths who were missing in the area of Tierra Blanca.
The hypothesis of the Prosecutor of Veracruz and the National Safety Commission is that the victims were taken to the ranch. The culprits proceeded to burn their bodies and then to grind the remains to finally bury them.
Yesterday, Deputy Secretary for Human Rights of the Ministry of Interior, Roberto Campa, confirmed that the ranch was used to conducted mass disappearances of human beings. The federal official said:

There was an almost artisan expert type work. Hovering remains were charred, but were eventually crushed, as with conventional cremation (…) all this discovery was made with a very careful forensic work, there is 40-hour footage, all technical equipment and trained dogs are used
</blockquote>
The El Limón Ranch is not the first property of its kind in Veracruz to be used by criminal groups to kill people or to commit other illegal activities.
On June 16, 2014, elements of the Navy of Mexico discovered multiple mass graves in the Diamond Ranch, located between the towns of Tres Valles and Cosamaloapan, also in southern Veracruz. In the days following the discovery, more than 30 bodies were recovered from this land without the death toll being officially specified.
According to investigations, the Diamond Ranch was owned by former mayor of the municipality of Tres Valles, Fernando Cano Cano, who died in 2011.
To cite another example, in February 2012, in the arrest of a suspected leader of a cartel, officials of the Mexican Navy found the bodies of at least 15 people who had been buried in clandestine graves in two ranches near the town of Acayucan, also in the south of the state.
More recent was the discovery of five bodies, including those of two people of Colombian origin with signs of torture, within the Rancho El Lagostillo, located in the municipality of National Bridge. The discovery was made in November 2015.
Note that the victims found in that case had been abducted in the city of Cordoba, the same one where on February 8th where journalist Anabel Flores was kidnapped. Mexico is the third most dangerous country for journalists in the world, right next to Syria and Iraq.
