The employment minister, Eric Abetz, <a class=" u-underline" data-component="in-body-link" data-link-name="in body link" href="http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2015/sep/08/christian-refugees-from-middle-east-should-be-given-priority-says-eric-abetz">said on Tuesday</a> that Christians in the Middle East were “the most persecuted group in the world” and should be favoured if Australia increases its intake of fleeing Syrians.
Another frontbencher, Barnaby Joyce, <a class=" u-underline" data-component="in-body-link" data-link-name="in body link" href="http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2015/sep/04/barnaby-joyce-calls-for-more-syrian-refugees-to-be-resettled-in-australia">made similar comments on Friday</a>, telling ABC Radio that many in the region were also being persecuted, but it was “the reality [that] the future of Christianity in that area is over”.

Abu Mohamed said Australian Muslims were “feeling yet another form of discrimination, or marginalisation and of targeting” “Statements like this, in their clarity of discrimination against Muslims … assert the counter narrative that Muslims are always going to be discriminated against and vilified in the Australian community,” he said.

By BI: A concert including the Islamic Call to Prayer has been turned away from Nelson’s cathedral after its Dean, Nick Kirk  said it “was anti- Christian.” The decision has disappointed Nelson Civic Choir, particularly as the concert was about promoting religious ‘tolerance.’ (That’s the problem – Muslims are NOT tolerant and are openly hostile to any religion but their own)

<a href="http://www.stuff.co.nz/nelson-mail/news/71907670/religious-tolerance-concert-banned-from-nelson-cathedral-due-to-islamic-content">STUFF.Co</a>  Nelson Civic Choir president Wim Oosterhoff felt the Christ Church Cathedral dean’s decision to not host a performance of The Armed Man was “ironic”, and showed religious intolerance.

The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace is a contemporary anti-war composition, dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis and is based on the Catholic Mass, and includes texts from other religious and historical sources, including the call to prayer, the Bible and the ancient Sanskrit Mahabharata as well as secular writers including Rudyard Kipling.
“It’s not just a concert, it’s a total experience,” Oosterhoff said.
Dean of the cathedral, Nick Kirk said he had refused the choir’s request to perform The Armed Man because it did not fit with the cathedral’s “religious beliefs”. “The Islamic call to prayer is not Christian.” He said the piece did not reflect the cathedral’s values under his leadership. When queried on why the performance was allowed in 2007, Kirk said “I’m a different dean.”

Kirk said he had already received complaints about the decision, but he was not worried about his stance. “I think we have to stand up for what is true.” (Good for him!)
“The call to prayer is only to Muslims. Obviously Islam, like Christianity, thinks it’s the only way but Islam at its best is a very intolerant religion.”

Former New York Stock Exchange Head Says That The Stock Market Is Rigged

Richard Grasso acted as the chairman and chief executive of the New York Stock Exchange from 1995 to 2003, and he has come out in a recent interview saying that the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/?s=stock" target="_blank">stock market</a> is rigged. Considering that he spent nearly a decade at the head of the institution, he would obviously have legitimate experience to speak on.
The interview was reported by the <a href="http://www.wsj.com/articles/fast-market-not-necessarily-a-fair-market-former-nyse-chief-says-1441992084">Wall Street Journal</a> this week and is set to appear on the television show “Wall Street Week” this Sunday.
During the interview Grasso said, “A fast market is not necessarily a fair market, as evidenced by that Monday open. Frankly, some of the things that went on that day need very close scrutiny.”
Speaking of the erratic stock activity that occurred in late August, he said that “A day like that, where Facebook’s shares go from $86 to $72 to $84 in a matter of minutes will cause the public to lose confidence in the markets.”
Grasso also spoke of how the game was rigged to create an advantage for certain players.
“Creating an advantage to an institutional user or a particular type of trader that disadvantages the retail investor is bad for the country, bad for the markets and bad for your business,” he said.
Grasso has not been absent of controversy himself, he was actually forced to step down from the NYSE back in 2003 after he was accused of embezzling millions in retirement pay from the organization.
