Putin is now sending in tanks and Russian soldiers into Syria in order to crush the Islamic terrorists and defend his Christian brethren. This could be a current day Crusade. I did a whole video with evidence of this and commentary:

In order to understand the crusade of Russia for the cause of Christianity, one must comprehend the destiny of Christendom.
Individualism is one of the greatest enemies of the Church. Individualism isolates us from the universal, and hinders us from seeing the Mystery Of The Divine Destiny. Individualism says that what Christianity is all about is our personal relationship with Christ that is void and detached from the plan of God for Christendom. Christendom consists of the Church, the State, and the Prophet. Throughout the history of the Church, from Israel onward, we find all these three working together in emulation of the Holy Trinity. The Son does the will of the Father, and so the State does the will of the Church, God’s representative on earth, and the prophet — like the Holy Spirit — directs the nation. By the nations unifying under Christ, and becoming Christendom, it emulates the unity of the Trinity, and in becoming one with the Trinity, it brings the nations of the earth under the kingship of Christ, and into the Trinity. 
What is the divine destiny of a nation? It is not the nation unto itself, but for the nation to go beyond itself, and to transcend into the eternal thought of God, to act in accordance to the mind of God, to not isolate itself with some vain secular concept of superiority, but to have identity in Christ, being in Him by Whom the pious nations are united, not for nothing, but rather for a unified Christendom.
For a nation to understand its divine destiny, is for the nation to understand its identity. If the nation’s identity is in Christ, then its destiny is sealed, to be an icon of God, and thus to advance the Faith to the nations under darkness, to unite them under the Crucified King, and bring them to that identity by which humanity is brought together, not to be left like a poor deserted creature, but as an organ in the Body of Christ, working with the other members for the glory of Heaven, and the victory of God over the principalities of evil. However, if the nation finds its identity in the diabolical, then it will do the will of the devil, saying with its father, “I will ascend to the heavens” (Isaiah 14:13), and with its predecessors, “let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves” (Genesis 11:4).
The builders of Babel wanted to make a name for themselves, they wanted superiority that sprung from itself; they did not want to deny the self, but worship it. It is the nation that places itself on the altar of the ego, that cannot resist the devil, but it is the nation, “whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12) that surrenders its will, and does not work to ascend itself to the heavens and overthrow God, but rather, strives to advance the Kingdom of Heaven and establish Christian civilization, that is carrying out the divine destiny bestowed upon it. With this can we say with Solomon:

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 13:34)

To build Christian civilization, and to bring the world into the Body of Christ, this is the divine destiny for Christendom. The modern heretics of our time love to reduce the Christian life to the individual, and to forsake anything to do with bringing Christianity to the national or universal level. Everything we do as Christians can never be done for the sake of the individual, but for the advancement of the Body of Christ, and thus for Christ Himself. “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” (1 Corinthians 12:26)

All of the members rejoice, because they simultaneously work for the same purpose, and that is the majesty of the Savior, and for the erection of Christendom. All of the members suffer, because them being one in Christ, means that together they are crucified with Christ, suffering as He suffered, enduring the anguish for the one sublime cause of destroying evil and triumphing for the victory of eternal light. Is this cause one one of popularity? Is it one of the masses and the mob? No, it is the cause of the wandering pilgrim who stands alone.
You are truly free when you realize that you are truly alone. It is only in this state of aloneness that you come to nothingness, and from nothingness to the desire for total surrendering to the divine will, and in this, does our aloneness become identity in Christ, not in an individualistic sense, but in the universal sense, with the aim to expand eternal Christendom throughout the world.

There is no action for the sake of individualism, this obsession with the individual over the body, this fixation on isolation over the universal, is an idol that stand upon the altar of Mammon, and every day its insatiable thirst demands for the sacrifice of ego, and from this comes disunity, schism, cruelty and sadism, from this comes death. It is impossible for the denial of the self to bring about such evils, for from the sacrifice of the self comes the will to remain united under the One to Whom the self is surrendered, and that is Christ. The body is one under Christ, and thus it is absent of egoism, and so it is free from the desire to break away and start sects and cults. Schism is not the result of some divine revelation, but a consequence of being a slave to the flesh. Hence why St. Paul lists as two of the sins of the flesh, “dissensions, sects,” (Galatians 5:20), for it comes from the violent urge to cut oneself from the Body of Christ, and start some novel group, to establish power and dominate others.
But in the Body of Christ, the members work as one, devoid of any idea of self-superiority, with all glorying the Holy Trinity, and all being honored by God. “But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.” (1 Corinthians 12:24-25)
There is something quite beautiful and profound in the life of the Church, for in everything we do, we do in God, in Whom “we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). There is a mystical relationship between Christ and the Church, it is cosmic and surpasses all objective and materialistic understanding: the purpose of the Church, and all of there righteous actions, is all done as an image of Christ on earth, and ultimately, as an icon of the Holy Trinity. Read the beautiful words of our Lord and you will have a closer understanding: “Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.” (John 17:11) The Father provides the Son with His flock, and the Son prays that His servants will be one, as the Father and the Son are one.

The Church, thus, is to emulate the Trinity, but not in a figurative sense, rather, in a matrimonial relationship, in which the Body of Christ enters the Trinity in a mystical immersion that is beyond our mortal comprehension. The relationship between the Church and Christ is never figurative, it is real, with all of those who live in the Holy One being immersed in Christ. So real is this relationship, so absent is it of anything figurative, that St. Peter wrote that we, through Christ, “may be partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). There is nothing metaphorical in this. The reason why this is so worthy of emphasis is to show you how sublime the Christian life is, and also, how this sublimity transforms us from our obsession with the individual self, to a will to bring the Holy Faith to the universal level, that is, Christendom.
It is this very mysticism of Christianity — in which the Trinity and the Church come together — that surpasses egoism and stirs in us the aspiration to build Christian civilization. This divine reality is ascertained in one of the most beautiful lines of our Lord, when He prayed to the Father:

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. (John 17:20-21)

One of the most aesthetic aspects of Scripture, is how from one verse (or even half a verse, or even one line), one can ascertain divine truths that are deeper than any ocean. In these words, one can see the divine destiny of Christendom. The Body of Christ is one, as the Father and the Son are one, and so the Christian world emulates the Trinity, and at the same time the Church is unified in the Holy Trinity, in that it is literally in God. And from this unity, humanity believes in Christ. Thus, by imitating the unity of the Trinity, and living in the Trinity, the world is brought into the Trinity. This is the way and divine destiny of Christendom.
When we say that God became human, we should never say that He became a separate man, or a man amongst men, but that He became Man. We learn from the great father of the Church, St. Theodore the Studite, that “Christ did not become a mere man, nor is it orthodox to say that He assumed a particular man, but rather that He assumed man in general, or the whole human nature.” He continues on to say that Christ “is not one of the many, but God made man” (Theodore the Studite, On the Holy Icons, First Refutation, ch. 4, trans. Catherine P. Roth).
God became Man, He became Humanity, hence the Apostle says that “in Him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:17) Thus He became the absolute center in Whom all humanity is unified, and by Whom mankind becomes one.
Before Christ, in the era of paganism and darkness, the world treated human beings as not organs working together for a single body, but as separate organs that only live, not just for themselves, but for the pleasure of other individuals. When we read of the colosseums, and how they were used as killing fields to slaughter countless thousands, and how the crowd — in unison — screamed with insatiable bloodlust for the death of man, we do not read of true unity, but of true worship of individualism. Men were mangled and cut to pieces, not for a greater glory, but for the satisfaction of individuals enslaved to ego and self.

Christianity destroyed this disarray, for the God-Man established His Church, where there are no useless organs, but only members that work in a harmony for a mission outside of themselves. Pure individualism leads to mob violence. Self-denial leads to true unity.
It is the individualist who ceaselessly says, “I want more,” and in wanting more they gather together, and rage against mankind. While it is those who deny the self that work as one, not striving for vain glory, but for the glory of the mystical Body of the One Who sacrificed all. The musical union has no rivalries, for the mission is not the self — unlike in individualism — but Christ, for “there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.” (1 Corinthians 12:25)
It is because of Christ that we have true unity, for it is a unity that is within and in emulation of the Holy Trinity. In the Body of Christ each member is an organ with a purpose, with all working simultaneously for the eternal destiny of Heaven, for the expansion of Christendom and the destruction of the demonic.
What creates violence is the illusion that people must be treated as separate organs without a purpose to the whole. Pagans treated humans as mere tool for the fulfillment of evil desires, while Christianity treated people as a part of the whole, the instrumental players in the divine orchestra. So many times do we catch ourself looking at the world through the eyes of ego, rather than the eyes of Spirit.
Through the eyes of the ego we do not see anything, we are blinded, living in the prison of the flesh and surrounded by the cold bars of bitter desires. Through the eyes of Heaven we look to the world and see God in the simplest of things, and behold all creatures as divinely created, and especially to man, who was “made him a little lower than the angels” (Psalm 8:5), and see icons of God. I was sitting outside, and the color of the sky emanated this beautifully glowing orange hue.
As I beheld this I saw above me my bengal cat upon the edge of a ledge, rolling on the hard stone. I saw it for what it was: beautiful, with no bitter thoughts, and came to a realization that once we cease to look at the world through the eyes of the ego, and see the creation through the eyes of the spirit, in the most simplest things, we can see God.
Egoism says to the world: “I am of the superior people, you are of the inferior!” But the Holy Faith looks to the world says, “You are humanity. God became Man so that mankind can be unified as one, and be one with Him.” In this there is no superiority. As St. Paul wrote:

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)

This unity spearheads much of the superiority complexes that we see in many churches. I remember going to a Maronite church, and frequently hearing of having Lebanese identity. And we see this evil all over the world. There are some Christians who think so highly of themselves because they are Jewish (or at least think they are).
We hear of Greek Orthodox Christians reducing the Faith to being Greek; Russians to being Russian; American Evangelicals to being American Evangelicals. Their identity is not on Christ, rather it is isolated to their nationality. And this is what happens when religion is conjoined with nationalist egoism. There is nothing wrong or evil with being proud of one’s country, of one’s history and culture (in fact, this should be encouraged), but there is something dreadfully sinister about equating or reducing the majesty of the Faith to one’s country. Christ never told His Disciples, “Go to this nation,” but rather, “teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 28:19)
Here in this verse we find the call for the formation of Christendom, by the bringing in of nations into the Holy Trinity. St. Vladmir — the king of Russia — was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and he brought his whole nation of Russia, which was at that time pagan, into the fold of Christendom, and thus into the Divine Trinity. Christ declared that St. Paul was “a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.” (Acts 9:15) Notice that He says kings; to bring kings into the Faith, is to bring entire nations into Christendom, and thus to be one in the Holy Trinity.

The purpose of the Great Commission was to the nations, not to one particular people, for the Church surpasses all nationalistic prejudices, and is divinely appointed to be universal (hence the term Catholic). The Church, thus, denies the self to the cosmic identity in Christ, and by losing the self, loses all individualism, and becomes a player in the collective symphony of the divine destiny, with the harmony of the Faith playing to all the world, stirring the souls of entire peoples to join the orchestra of Christendom. The Empire is under Christ, and in Christ, and it dwells within the Holy Trinity.

The Father prophesied of the Son:
<blockquote>
I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, 
That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth. (Isaiah 49:6)
</blockquote>
This passage is speaking about the Gentile nations coming to Christ, that is, the nations of Christendom. When Christ ordered His Disciples to go to all the nations, He already knew which nations will be sheep and which will be goats. Thus, Christendom was already in the mind of God, and divinely destined to be His in His army. This is what it means to be in the eternal thought of God. For in the words of the Russian theologian, Solovyov, the true identity of the nations “is nothing other than their manner of being in the eternal thought of God.” (Solovyov, The Russian Idea, ch. iv, p. 16, trans. Fr. John P. Rickert)
Christ wanted not just individuals to be unified with Him, but entire nations. Christ came to form Christendom, to form Christian civilization. Again the Father says of Christ:

Kings shall see and arise, 
Princes also shall worship, 
Because of the Lord who is faithful, 
The Holy One of Israel; 
And He has chosen You. (Isaiah 49:7)
</blockquote>
Is this speaking of individuals? No. It is speaking of multiple nations and their governments; it is speaking of Christendom and its formation. Again the prophet says:
“The Gentiles shall come to your light, 
And kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 49:7)
Christ came to create Christendom, but Christendom is dead, only waiting to be awakened from its gloomy sleep. What then is the divine destiny for the lands consecrated by the Blood of Christ? Are too always remain as secular nations, forever poisoned by the taint of modernism until Kingdom Come? I tell you, in the words of Scripture there is much hope, and there is prophecy for a restoration of the bright rays of Christendom’s fortresses. In the Book of Isaiah God the Son speaks of His coming to the gentile lands, the coastlands, or the people of Chittim, who live in the coasts of the Mediterranean, and who inhabit the nations of Spain, Italy, Greece, and Cyprus, to bring them from their state of weakness, and invigorate them under His authority and kingship, and their own governments:

Keep silence before Me, O coastlands, 
And let the people renew their strength! 
Let them come near, then let them speak; 
Let us come near together for judgment.
Who raised up one from the east?  Who in righteousness called him to His feet?  Who gave the nations before him, And made him rule over kings? Who gave them as the dust to his sword, As driven stubble to his bow? 
  
Who pursued them, and passed safely By the way that he had not gone with his feet? 
  
Who has performed and done it, Calling the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord, am the first; And with the last I am He.’ 
  
The coastlands saw it and feared, The ends of the earth were afraid; They drew near and came.
Everyone helped his neighbor, And said to his brother, “Be of good courage!” (Isaiah 41:1-6)

The Christ will reinvigorate the lands of the Gentiles; He will renew the strength of the Christian people and order their leaders to keep silence and let the people speak, to speak in lands ruled by the anti-Christian censuring governments of secularism. And then, once the Christian peoples shall be under the Kingship of Christ, then shall they say amongst themselves “Be of good courage!” The nations of the Cross will be one in identity in Christ. Once Christendom is restored, the Christian nations will become icons of the Holy Trinity.
And how does this look like?
It does not take the face of secularism, but rather, Christendom is governed under three principles, and guided by three branches of authority. The three principles (as we learn from Solovyov), are piety, charity, and justice. All three of these work simultaneously, with each one balancing the other. Without piety, then you have empty charity and cruel justice; without justice, you have license, and without charity, you have cruelty and mechanical religion. One can most definitely say that the three precepts can be summarized as the Law of Love. The three principles are governed by three branches of government: the Church, the State, and the Prophet. All three work together in emulation of the Holy Trinity. The Son does the will of the Father, and so the State does the will of the Church. The Church is God’s representative on earth, hence in the Scripture it speaks of the priests as such:

Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High (Psalm 82:6) 
</blockquote>
The priests are called gods, not because they are divine, but because they are God’s representatives. And so the State obeying the will of the Church, is imitating the obedience of the Son to the Father. The office of the prophet in Christendom is extremely significant. Now, by prophet I do not mean these gluttonous women and these other ridiculous lunatics you see in today’s churches who are so quick to call themselves prophets while spewing out their heretical drivel. I am speaking of prophets who are both prudent and Orthodox, pious and monastic. Christendom has had numerous prophets, such as John the Monk of Egypt, St. Francis of Assisi and Pius V.

The prophet declares the will of God to the Church and the State, and keeps the nation in constant readiness to do the will of God. Without the prophet, the Church and the State become lax, and end up either in secularism or in dry and mechanical religion. The prophet is like the Holy Spirit in this image of the Trinity, for he directs and gives instruction. Once the Christian nations take up this cross, deny the self, unify under Christ, and begin to build Christian civilization, then will they enter the eternal thought of God, being under the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and become an icon of the Divine Trinity, entering into the Trinity, and unifying the world and bringing the world into the Holy Trinity, that “they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:20-21)
Let us break all nationalist hinderances, and let the wings of Christendom, fly to that part of the world that is under the idol of the devil, and worships the demon of unitarianism — that is, the Islamic lands — and unite them with the Trinity.
This is the destiny that mighty Heaven has for Christendom, to destroy evil and bring the nations of the earth to the enlightenment of Christ! Let all of the nations of Christ, let Russia, America, Greece, Spain, Italy, and all the peoples willing to become one with the Trinity, enter the eternal thought of God, enter Christendom, and expand the glory of the Trinity to all nations. With this, I will finish with a passage from Solovyov on the true destiny of the nations:

For each people to participate in the life of the universal Church, in the development of the great Christian civilization, and to participate according to the particular forces and capacities given to it. This is the true aim, the only true mission of every people.

So it looks like Pope Francis is seeing the realty of the refugees. He stated on a radio show that there is the danger of Islamic terrorist infiltration being done through the refugee situation, and that they can enter Italy and attack Rome. According to <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3233848/Pope-says-risk-militants-sneak-Europe-refugees.html?ito=social-facebook" target="_blank">the report:</a>

In an interview with a Portuguese Catholic broadcaster, he also said the humanitarian crisis could help reawaken the continent’s conscience.
‘It’s true, I also want to recognise that, nowadays, territorial security conditions are not the same as they were in other periods (of mass migration),’ he said.
‘The truth is that just 400 kilometres (250 miles) from Sicily there is an incredibly cruel terrorist group. So there is a danger of infiltration, this is true.’ 
Security specialists believe the risk that militants could be smuggled into Europe in this way is small.
Francis admitted that Rome could even be a target for an attack.
When asked, he said: ‘Yes, nobody said Rome would be immune to this threat. But you can take precautions…’ 
Security has been stepped up in the Vatican City and other religious sites across Italy after threats by ISIS militants against Catholic targets in Rome, popular with tourists and pilgrims.
Earlier this month, he appealed to every Catholic parish, religious community and sanctuary in Europe to take in a family of refugees, saying he would set the example by hosting two families in parishes inside the Vatican.
‘These poor people are fleeing war, hunger, but that is the tip of the iceberg. Because underneath that is the cause; and the cause is a bad and unjust socioeconomic system,’ he said.
Asked if the refugee crisis could be a positive occasion for Europe and a re-awakening of the continent’s conscience, the pope said ‘it could be’.

Pope Francis was priorly more confident in exhorting Europe to accept the refugees, but now he is uncertain. It looks like the warning of Laszlo Kiss-Rigo, the major bishop in Hungary, against Europe accepting the refugees, has influenced Francis in his warnings and weariness.
A major bishop for the Catholic Church in Hungary, Laszlo Kiss-Rigo rebuffed Pope Francis’ desire for Europe to absorb the Islamic refugees, saying that the refugee inundation is really an invasion.

Europe is being overwhelmed by non-believers posing as refugees who pose a serious threat to the continent’s “Christian, universal values,” he said.
The bishop is not alone in his doubts and fears on the wave of Arabic-speaking foreigners crossing into European borders. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban also sees the flow of migrants as a threat to predominantly Christian Europe.
At the risk of drawing global scorn, Orban has taken steps to try and halt the exodus of refugees mostly coming from Syria. He has restricted the flow of refugees, even throwing some of them into prison.
“I’m in total agreement with the prime minister,” Kiss-Rigo said in an interview by the Washington Post on Monday.
The bishop said the many of the so-called refugees do not deserve assistance because they “have money.”
They leave garbage along their path and refuse the food offered them by humanitarian workers, said Kiss-Rigo, who has been serving for nine years as bishop for southern Hungary, a region where some 800,000 Catholics live.
“Most of them behave in a way that is very arrogant and cynical,” he said.
Kiss-Rigo said Pope Francis is greatly misinformed about what is really happening. He “doesn’t know the situation,” he said.

I remember a few years ago spending time with an Evangelical friend of mine. Within our conversation, somehow, the subject of the Crusades came up. Of course, I defended the Crusades, explaining that they were fighting off Islamic invaders in the Middle East. He, on the other hand, vehemently condemned the Crusaders as evil and barbarous people. I asked him, “Who would you rather win, the Muslims or the Crusaders?” He said, with a tone of vitriol, “It doesn’t matter, they are both the same! I would not care at all if the Muslims invaded the Vatican, the Catholics are just as evil.”
This is the predicament that we are in. While the Vatican is hated as the Harlot of Babylon, the Muslims are currently conspiring to take over and destroy Rome. And many would not have a problem with this.
The Muslims will invade Rome in the near future. Why would they try such a seemingly useless endeavor? Because when Muhammad founded his cult, there were two cities that he aspired for the Muslims to conquer: Rome and Constantinople.
The desire to invade Rome is still throbbing like a beating heart; it is alive and remains vibrant like a torrent within the very soul of the Muslim world. Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most influential Sunni scholar today, made the prediction in 2002 that the Muslims will soon rise and invade Rome, making references to the declaration of Muhammad himself:

He [Muhammad] answered: “The city of Hirqil [Emperor Heraclius, that is, Constantinople] will be conquered first” … Romiyya is the city called today Rome, the capital of Italy. The city of Hirquil was conquered by the young 23-year old Ottoman [sultan] Muhammad bin Morad, known in history as Mohammad the Conquerer, in 1453 [CE]. The other city, Romiyya, remains, and we hope and believe [that it too will be conquered]. This means that Islam will return to Europe as a conquerer and victor, after being expelled from its twice-once from the South, from Adalusia, and a second time from the East, when it knocked several times on the door of Athens.

In the year 1453, the raging Ottoman Empire flooded the city of Constantinople, creating a flood of human gore and countless pools of warm thick blood. It was one of the saddest events in Christian history, and the cries of those slain still echo from the vault’s of mighty Heaven. But such an invasion of the heathen has not stopped; the savages have merely delayed their warpath for the purpose of deciet, and within their conspiring minds is the envisioning of a certain city under their subjugation. It is Rome. Rome, after Jerusalem, is the city that the Muslims have been bent on conquering since the founding of their religion.
Within the entire span of their existence, from Muhammad until now, the Muslims have attempted to conquer Rome seven times, and in each time their attempts were found to be in vain. In the earlier Islamic invasions of the ninth century, Pope Gregory IV protected Ostia, a suburb of Rome, from the Muslim attacks by fortifying it “with higher walls, and with gates and crenellations and trap-doors, and on top he arranged catapults with noble artfulness to fight off the enemy if necessary.” (Liber Pontificalis, 103: Gregory IV, 39, trans. At one point they tried to invade Rome when it was under the pontificate of Sergius II. The Muslims reached the Church of St. Paul, only to be crushed by resilient Italian Catholics. When the Muslims were about to enter Montecassino, southeast of Rome, monks begged God for mercy with prayer and ashes on their foreheads. Right before the Muslims gained entry, a storm struck and the floodwaters flowing through the Garigliano River blocked the barbarians. But out of all the battles the saints fought to defend Rome, the most sublime and epic of them was the Battle of Ostia in 849 AD. The Muslims sacked Rome, pillaged and plundered the Churches of St. Peter and St. Paul. When they entered the tomb of Peter they stripped away a silver altar, and overran Saint Peter’s church in the name of Allah and for their hatred of the Gospel.
Pope Leo IV arose as the defender of the city. When he first became pontificate he consecrated entire days to prayer and religious processions to render hope unto the people and to kindle the fire of Christian zeal after it had been extinguished by the Islamic barbarians. He had the city’s walls repaired; fifteen towers were built or renewed, and he iron chain was drawn across the Tiber river to hinder any enemy naval ships from sailing into Italy.

Before the Muslims returned to Rome Leo made a prayer that transcended time and space, that the God who had protected St. Peter and St. Paul on the confounding waves of the sea would fortify the hands of his warriors who were about to fight the enemies of Christ. Before the battle, Leo IV gazed up to Heaven, and with with soul rooted into eternity, his flaming heart throbbing with the utmost of zeal, his mind interconnected to the most learned of expositions, he proclaimed:

O God, who didst confer on thy apostle Peter the keys of the kingdom of heaven and didst grant him the pontificate of binding and loosing, grant that by the help of his intercession we may be delivered from the bonds of our sins; and cause that this city which we have newly founded with thy assistance may ever remain safe from thy wrath and have new and manifold triumphs over the enemy on whose account it has been constructed; through [our Lord Jesus Christ]. (Liber Pontificalis, 105: Leo IV, 73, trans. Raymond Davis)

This prayer offends many, I know. But this is what the ancient Christians believed in, and this is how they prayed (and for those who say that Leo IV is not a Christian or a saint, and that the Catholic Church is a false church, please provide one thing: evidence and documentation for the true Christians in the time of Leo IV).
Moments before the heat of valor and arms commenced, the Muslims declared their savage prayer to their false god, and advanced for a naval attack. The Christians made ready their galleys of war, and headed toward the Muslim ships. Then all of a sudden, as the unpredictable spark of destiny manifested its majestic flame, a powerful wind came upon the seas, and the roaring waves collided right into the Muslim ships. The enemy was dashed to pieces on the sharp and soulless rocks, and those who survived shipwreck received no quarter from the pursuing Italian Christians.

The Islamic world does not forget such defeats, and the hope of victory, to take what they almost conquered, has been forever in their infernal minds. Yunis Al Astal, a popular cleric for Hamas and a scholar on Islamic law, once stated in a speech:

Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesied by our prophet Muhammad. Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine, in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam – this capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe.
</blockquote>
Al Astal believes that the conquest of Rome will be not just a Islamic advancement, but a strategic point from which the Muslim warriors will expand into the rest of Europe and eventually into the Americas.
Another example is Egyptian cleric Salem Abu Al-Futouh, who <a href="http://www.jihadwatch.org/2012/03/egyptian-muslim-cleric-muhammad-foretold-the-islamic-conquest-of-rome" target="_blank">said</a> in 2011:

The Prophet Muhammad told us that Islam would spread. He told us about the Islamic conquest of Constantinople – Turkey of today – and indeed, it was conquered. He also told us about the conquest of Rome, which is Italy. People find this strange. “How can we conquer Italy?” they say. “We are too weak.” You should consider the number of Muslims in that great Christian center – another person converts to Islam every day. Check on the Internet how many people want to convert to Islam in the very heart of that papal center of Christianity, on their own turf.

Kamil Zarouq, a sheikh in Tunisia, also made the emphatic announcement that the Muslims will conquer Rome:

The prophet Muhammad said: “Rome shall be conquered.” Rome will be conquered in our days. This is the age of the Muslims.

This belief in the future conquest of Rome is not some dream or superficial idea Muslims say in passing, but a universal goal that all Muslims, both layman and scholar, aspire to fulfill. Rome is not just another place the Muslims want to take over (they want to rule the whole world), but a specific region that was desired by the founder of Islam himself, Muhammad. This cannot go ignored. There were three cities Muhammad wanted under Islamic rule: Jerusalem, Rome, and Constantinople. Why? Because these are the three heads of Christendom.
It was from Jerusalem where the Church received, in the words of Pope Sylvester II, “the oracles of the prophets, the manifestations of the patriarchs”. It is in Jerusalem where “the clear lights of the world, the apostles, made their appearance; here it [the world] discovered the faith of Christ” (The Letters of Gerbert, Letter 36, trans. Harriet Pratt Lattin).

It is Constantinople that was built by Constantine, to be a city “without any temple of image of the demons.” (City of God, 5.25). And so with such a founding, and such a spiritual foundation, the devil would have his eyes to take it for his dominion.
And why would the devil seek the destruction of Rome? Such a metropolis has been concluded by numerous theologians to be the Great Whore of Babylon, the city of Antichrist. Why would Satan bother with such a place, why would his followers be so filled with vitriol against Rome if it truly was the mother of all false religions, including their own?
Satan hates Rome because it is a city whose church is beloved by God and destined to be saints. I do not say this from my own authority, but from the blessed Apostle Paul, who wrote these words to the Church of Rome:

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 1:7)
</blockquote>
When reading these words, we must keep in mind that St. Paul is writing to the Church of Rome, that is, the Roman Catholic Church. For those who affirm that I am wrong, I ask you kindly, if Romans is not being written to the Roman Catholic Church, then which church is it being written to? And where today can I find this church?
You cannot find it, and you never will, no matter how hard you try. But if you would like to take up the challenge, then I would gladly see your findings. In antiquity, the primacy of the Roman Church was established as the head of the churches. This was not an invention of Constantine. Tertullian, one of the oldest and most ancient authorities of Christianity, declared the primacy of the Roman Church. I will let his words speak for themselves:

Since, moreover, you are close upon Italy, you have Rome, from which there comes even into our own hands the authority (of apostles themselves). How happy is its church, on which apostles poured forth all their doctrine along with their blood! where Peter endures a passion like his Lord’s! where Paul wins his crown in a death like John’s! where the Apostle John was first plunged, unhurt, into boiling oil, and thence remitted to his island-exile! See what she has learned, what taught, what fellowship has had even (our) churches in Africa! One Lord God does she acknowledge, the Creator of the universe, and Christ Jesus (born) of the Virgin Mary, the Son of God the Creator; and the Resurrection of the flesh; the law and the prophets she unites in one volume with the writings of evangelists and apostles, from which she drinks her faith. This she seals with the water (of baptism), arrays with the Holy Ghost, feeds with the Eucharist, cheers with martyrdom, and against such a discipline thus (maintained) she admits no gainsayer. This is the discipline which I no longer say foretold that heresies should come, but from which they proceeded. However, they were not from her, because they were opposed to her.(Tertullian, On the Prescription Against Heretics, ch. xxxvi, trans. Rev. Peter Holmes)

There are a number of points that are beneficial for our current discourse. Notice how Tertullian writes that it was the Roman Church that united the “law and the prophets” “in one volume with the writings of evangelists and apostles”, meaning that it was the Roman Church that put together the New and the Old Testaments in one compilation. Such an advancing action would, no doubt, provoke the devil to hate it, and hence, use the Muslims to destroy it. Since St. Paul wrote a letter to the Church of Rome, that means it was founded by God. Why, then, would God desire the Church of Rome to be destroyed by Muslims? Only the devil would desire such a thing.
The significance of the Roman Church in regards to the Christian Faith was first mentioned, not by any Church Father, but by Saint Paul. In his letter to the Romans he wrote:

First , I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. (Romans 1:8)
</blockquote>
Take notice to whom St. Paul is writing this: the Roman Christians of the Roman Church. Thus when he says “I thank God through Jesus Christ for you all,” by “you” he means the Roman Christians, so he therefore is writing to a specific group and not to a general one. Thus, when he writes “your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world”, he is speaking of the faith as taught through the Roman Church, into which the Apostles “poured forth all their doctrine”, as Tertullian says, and the faith of which was “spoken of throughout the whole world”.
It is for this reason why St. Paul expresses such immense gratitude to the Roman Church with these words: “I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all” (Romans 1:8).

Also, one cannot ignore the fact that no where in the epistles of St. Paul do we find the faith of a particular church praised as being “spoken of throughout the whole world”. It is only to the Roman Church that St. Paul gives this very significant description.
When the last Islamic confederacy configures itself, led by Turkey’s revived Ottoman Empire and its leader, the Antichrist, the Muslims will invade Rome, but just like their predecessors, they will fail. They will not succeed because Paul said, “To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints”. There is a divine plan for Rome, and this great destiny will prevent the Muslims, as it always has, from conquering the city.
The Italians are prophesied by God to be one of the enemies of the Antichrist. The prophet Daniel foretold:

For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. (Daniel 11:30)
</blockquote>
Chittim is located in Cyprus, and also encompasses the rest of Greece and the whole of Italy. For Josephus, in his own words, describes Chittim as

Cyprus: and from that it is that all islands, and the greatest part of the seacoasts, are named Cethim by the Hebrews (Antiquities, 1.6.1, trans. William Whiston)
</blockquote>
From this we know that Josephus saw Chittim with a twofold significance, in that while it is Cyprus it comprises also mainland Greece and Italy, as we learn from Rawlinson (The Origin of Nations, part 2, ch. 2, pp. 185-186). Moreover, in far antiquity, as we learn from the ancient historian Justin, Italy was called Greater Greece, or Magna Graecia (Justin, 20.2). Therefore, Italy, through an ancient lens, can be viewed as a part of Greece, and therefore constitutes as Chittim.

There is significance in the Bible’s mentioning of Chittim as an enemy of the Antichrist. God says that He “will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations” (Ezekiel 28:7), and “seven shepherds, and eight principal men” (Micah 5:5) against the Antichrist. While God makes known that He will raise countries against the Antichrist, the only specific countries He mentions are those comprising Chittim, that is, Cyprus, Greece, and Italy. This is not to say that these will be the only countries (America will definitely be involved), but that these are the only ones mentioned specifically.
We also believe that Spain will be involved in warring against the Antichrist; my father, Walid Shoebat, has always interpreted Chittim to consisting of Spain.
Therefore, the Christians of Italy who will one day fight against the revived Islamic Ottoman Empire, will be those who are, in the words of St. Paul, “called to be saints”.
In the greatest naval battle of Christendom, the Battle of Lepanto, the Spaniards and the Italians allied together in what was called a holy alliance, and fought and crushed the Ottoman galleys. The Italian poet Giovanni Baptista Arucci wrote of this alliance between Italy and Spain to war against the Turks (who he refers to as the Thracians):

You have only to make the peoples of Italy and Spain strike a holy alliance. Let this be your labor, daughter: to join kings together, mind with mind, and spirit with spirit. In this way let Rome unite with Spain and the rich Republic of Venice against the Thracian [Turkish] Tyrant. (Giovanni Baptista Arucci, The Victory at Naupactus, 60-64, ed. & trans. Elizabeth R. After Lepanto, the Church of Rome was esteemed as the glorious victor, destined by God to have victory over the Muslims. An anonymous poet, after the battle, wrote a poem in praise of Rome called One hundred verses: to the City, in which he exclaimed:

Glorious Rome, those wretched men [the Muslims] you now see passing by with their hands bound behind their backs, they are the enemies of your name. (One hundred verses: to the City, 16-18, ibid, brackets mine)
</blockquote>
It is amazing to ponder on the fact that some of the greatest pagan kingdoms wanted to take either Rome, Constantinople, Jerusalem, or all three.
Hannibal almost succeeded in taking Rome, the Sassanid Persians almost captured Constantinople and succeeded in stealing Jerusalem, but failed to take the Italian city. Islam, the ultimate Satanic religion, and the last of the two horns of the Beast, was able to capture the lands of the former powers of the East, such as Carthage and the rest of North Africa, Persia, Babylon, Assyria, Jerusalem, and all the Roman empire of Constantinople. When they tried to take Rome in Italy in 846, they plundered the churches of St. Paul and St. Peter, (See Schmidt, The Great Divide, ch. vi, p. 143* but they could never triumph over the city)
In the future the great crescent of the Ottoman empire will ascend from the rubble of its past defeats, ruling all of the nations of Islam, and it will charge against that city which Muhammad called to conquer: Rome. The fiery zeal of Christian passion will spark within the souls of the Romans, the spirit of Crusade will revive itself, and they, and the whole of Italy, will fight off the Muslim invaders. The Italians will also ally with Spain and Russia, as well as the United States and the other mighty nations called by God to destroy the Islamic empire out of existence.
What many do not understand is that the past battles between Catholics and Muslims are not isolated incidences in forgotten history, but parts of an entire war, that stops and resumes, in a continually eternal and cosmic struggle, between those who believe in the Trinity and those who uphold unitarianism. The war has never ended, and has only taken a temporary truce.
The Holy Cross will obliterate the idol of the Crescent, and destined by the hands of the Almighty, in that last and greatest battle of earth’s destiny, the enemies will be destroyed by those who are “beloved of God, called to be saints” (Romans 1:7).

When Huston’s gender-confused Mayor, Annise Parker kicked off the most controversial story proposing a new law granting certain protections to other “gender confused” people, many Christians in America went ballistic and cried out “Persecution!” So many as they began to see the Sodomite Agenda rising began to proclaim “the end is near!”
But is that really an example of persecution …simply because a gay mayor in a US city wants Christian sermons?
Parker wanted to make it legal for such individuals to use either a male or female bathroom in schools and public places. This new legislation provoked an immediate response from local churches, particularly five (5) local pastors from different assemblies, who challenged the legislation; the Mayor’s office fired back by filing a legal motion to subpoena all of the sermons, presentations and speeches that the pastors produce on the subject of Homosexuality.

The story went viral, of course, igniting a firestorm of protest, which reverberated throughout the US. The sensationalism finally reached my home of Bermuda, prompting a few Christians to sound the alarm as it were, calling everyone’s attention to the onset of perilous days of Christian persecution.
But that is not biblical persecution; in fact that’s not even a problem – it’s an honour!
While Persecution in fact is already happening, statistically the west is the only region on earth where it is not happening…yet, so quit listening to anyone who is announcing that the end of the world is at hand.
As Walid Shoebat once said “so long American Christians are enjoying T-Bone steaks, it is NOT persecution, yet. And while you focus on the “T” (The Cross) share your steak with your suffering brothers and sisters who are persecuted ABROAD.”

<li>So what is real Christian persecution?</li>
<li>And as a Christian, how do you know if you are genuinely being persecuted?</li>
<li>And how does Christian persecution factor into the last days?</li>
</ul>
Let’s take a simple look at the biblical definition of Christian persecution vs. what the western church considers Christian persecution, and then examine just a few case comparisons. The reader will then be left to discern who is truly being persecuted and who isn’t.
WHAT IS BIBLICAL PERSECUTION?
The Greek definition Dioko (dee-o-ko) which means Persecution therefore, carries three (3) distinct characteristic, which allows one to clearly identify genuine persecution. Keep in mind that this particular definition is uniform throughout the NT, wherever the word Persecution is used in relation to Christians. Even where a variation is used, the meaning remains essentially the same:

<h5>(1)   To pursue (for the purpose of suffering) that is to literally hunt Christians down for the purpose of imprisonment, to cause physical injury or death</h5>
<h5>(2)   To Expel; in a minor sense, that is to force Christians out of their gathering places and in a major sense to literally drive Christians out of their homelands</h5>
<h5>(3)   To be pressured; This is to be burdened with trouble caused by external forces for the purpose of making life extremely difficult because of one’s faith in Christ. </h5>

Compare the biblical definition of Persecution with the biblical/historical examples of persecution. Next, compare the biblical definition of Persecution with recent events involving modern day Christians.
Notice that both the historical and recent events coalesce. The persecution dynamic that flows through both sets of events is remarkably consistent. The central theme is suffering for the cause of Christ – a key doctrine that resonates throughout the entire Gospel narrative, but yet is rapidly being replaced by heretical teachings. The western church is essentially learning to repudiate the concept of biblical suffering via the influence of a host of false teachers, who are blotting out God’s purification process for his Church.

Keep in mind the biblical definition of Persecution, and let’s compare it with the absolutely stunning labels of persecution put forward by the western church.
<a href="http://fleming.house.gov/uploadedfiles/clear_present_danger_2a-cam.pdf">Fleming House</a> reports several stories emanating from within the US Military relating to the prohibition or censoring of Christianity within the armed forces.  Among such stories are:
<ul>
<li>The banning of bibles and religious materials from Walter Reid Medical Center</li>
<li>Threats by anti-religious groups to sue over nativity scene</li>
<li>Threats to censor military chaplains (not on ministering the Gospel, but on speech relating to Obamacare)</li>
<li>Army removes cross and steeple from chapel</li>
</ul>
Other challenges come from atheists/humanists groups in every field of human endeavor that are motivated to attack western Christianity, not particularly because of any significant impact by the ministering of the Gospel; but rather there are certain beliefs which feature prominently within western Christianity that the secular, western world find offensive.
Issues such as Creation over Evolution being taught in schools; school prayers; Christmas nativity scenes; and the seemingly militant position of the church against the Homosexual agenda, are all sensitive topics in the west, particularly to a growing secular culture with a Greek oriented mindset.
The Christian God is merely one god among many; therefore it should not be a unexpected that the western church would experience an aggressive campaign either to subjugate its message relating to these issues, or silence it altogether. All these by biblical definition is not persecution.
Given the frequency and severity of world events, particularly those events currently unfolding in the Middle East, I am fully persuaded that the ship, which carried the theology of a European Antichrist and a pre-trib rapture has long sailed; and what the western church must now contend with is the fact that it has missed the point entirely of what real endtime prophecy means for the church universally.

Of the many glaring inconsistencies with our traditional interpretation of end time prophecy, the one critical point, which must be addressed, is the issue of biblical persecution and not perceived persecution from a modern western view.
So if a secular, lesbian woman in a position of political power is demanding the sermons of the Church, then by God, give them to her! Annise Parker shouldn’t even need to subpoena the church; she should have a sermon delivered to her once per week! Instead of seizing a golden opportunity to fulfil the command of Christ, the church put its tail between its legs and ran for legal cover, hiring lawyers’ behind whom it can hide from the mean ol’ lesbian mayor.
Why do American Christians call attention to this while there are more pressing issues where Christians are beheaded and burned alive? It certainly doesn’t display a spirit of boldness in the face of spiritual adversity. Instead of drawing the sword of the Spirit and going after the head of Jezebel…the men of God ran from her!
Is the western church preaching the word of God and living by its example, or is it cherry picking certain battles, claiming to be bold and steadfast in the fight, only to turn and run for cover at the roar of the lion?
When analyzing incidents such as this, the key ingredient, which lends to the overall difference between biblical persecution (in the east) and plain harassment of the church, (in the west) is that real persecution provides no resource for recourse.
In other words, real persecution always involves having to flee, or stand your ground and either be imprisoned, beaten or killed…sometimes all three. There are no fancy lawyers or justice groups to run to when some anti-Christian entity threatens. There is no quoting from the Constitution, which guarantees certain rights.
In the Middle East, the beast of Islam portrays the perfect example of an entity that persecutes the children of God; the only options for Christians are to convert to Islam, live under subjugation, die or run. There are no legal appeals; no petitions to submit to the Caliphate – mainly because no Christian would dare sign it. Death is preferable because living under subjugation to Islam is the same as disobeying God.
This has always been what real persecution looks like.
Some might still insist that being harassed in the western church somehow translates as biblical persecution, fine; then I will point out one final observation concerning the fiasco in Houston:
For almost five (5) years, the western church has watched as her brothers and sisters in the east have been steadily brutalized and slaughtered for their faith in Jesus Christ – the very same Jesus the church in the west claim to serve. This means that we are united as one living, breathing entity. What happens to them happens to us. We groan in pain when we sustain a serious injury to our physical bodies; why are we not also groaning in agony at the pain that sears through the body of Christ?
Instead, the news of such devastating persecution, though steadily rising, has barely created a stir of concern in the western church. Scant attention is paid; scant prayers are given. Why is it that we do not feel the pain? But let some simple woman who thinks she’s in charge pull a legal manoeuvre in a city the size of a dot compared to the entire world, and the church explodes in protest. How insane is that?
For such a tiny incident to provoke such fear and protest- even an incident which was actually an open door to potentially reach high into secular government, then be warned: If biblical persecution were to arise ever so slightly from an incident such as this, then the church has just clearly demonstrated how it will easily drop the mantle of Jesus Christ and use every resource at its disposal to avoid simply being harassed.
How will the church handle real persecution? Because whether or not we care to admit it, acknowledge it or even prepare for it, before the western church experiences the rapture it will certainly experience persecution as the body of Christ. To believe we can avoid it while we turn a blind eye to the plight of our brothers and sisters in the east exposes our ignorance and apathy.

‘Children’ is a short animation exploring the dark side of <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/amount-of-students-homeschooling-increased-62-in-the-past-decade/" target="_blank">schooling</a>. Created by Japanese illustrator Okada Takuya, it portrays a gray world, a gray neighbourhood, a gray school with gray classrooms. In it sit rows of gray children, indistinguishable from each other except for the numbers stamped on their heads.
It is a thought-provoking film in many ways, looking at the way in which <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/study-20-of-children-are-improperly-misdiagnosed-with-adhd/" target="_blank">children</a> are not treated as individuals within the <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/this-is-how-education-kills-creativity/" target="_blank">education</a> system and how it invariably molds them into sheep. It also forces us to consider the enormous pressure children are under from the minute they start <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/how-adhd-is-linked-to-a-failing-education-system/" target="_blank">school</a>, and how dull their studies can be.
