<p>Remember the church that was burned down in Israel last month? I remember reporting on it when it took place, affirming that it was indeed fanatic Jews, who hate Christ, who perpetrated the crime. People were very upset at me, and received numerous messages from people that it must have been Muslims because — to their minds — Jews would never do this. Here at Shoebat.com we do not mind have disagreeing views presented, and equally we do not pull back from responding to these opposing positions. I wrote <a href="http://shoebat.com/2015/06/18/fanatic-jews-in-israel-who-hate-christ-call-christians-idolaters-then-attack-church-where-jesus-christ-fed-the-5000-and-set-the-whole-church-on-fire/" target="_blank">the article on the arson attack, affirming</a></p>

<p>The day after I published this, our contributor, BI, wrote a responding article entitled, <a href="http://shoebat.com/2015/06/19/remember-the-story-posted-here-about-fanatic-jews-in-israel-who-attacked-and-burned-a-church-now-there-is-doubt-that-it-was-done-by-jews/" target="_blank">“Remember The Story Posted Here About “Fanatic Jews In Israel Who Attacked And Burned A Church?”</a> Now There Is Doubt That It Was Done By Jews”, which expressed doubt that the attack was done by Jews, and suggested that it was done by Muslims, writing:</p>

<p>Israeli police immediately suspected arson due to the fact that the fire started simultaneously in different areas and because graffiti in Hebrew was found on a wall outside the church stating, “Idol worshippers will be eliminated.” (Muslims are the ones who repeatedly accuse Jews and Christians of being “idol worshippers”) … Christians all over the Middle East are persecuted and slaughtered by Muslims because they are seen as “idol worshippers.” Furthermore, the attack took place on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, when traditionally there is a spike in terror attacks against non-Muslim targets in the Middle East.</p>

<p>But now it turns out — through DNA and surveillance evidence — that the arson attack was done by Jews, with the Israeli police righteously arresting three fanatic Jews, and prosecutors in Israel have already come to the conclusion that they are the culprits behind the crime. I did a whole video on this, with details, photos of the criminals and my own commentary:</p>

<p>According to <a href="http://www.haaretz.com/news/israel/.premium-1.668763" target="_blank">one Jewish source:</a></p>

<p>The indictment in the burning of a Galilee church marks the first time the police’s West Bank division for nationalist crimes has solved such a case, the police say.</p>
<p>The authorities used DNA evidence and were able to achieve an indictment even though the accused kept silent during their interrogation and stayed in harsh conditions under the custody of the Shin Bet security service.</p>
<p>Torchings of churches and mosques became a serious phenomenon in Israel starting in 2009. In such cases, the division for nationalist crimes of the Judea and Samaria Police District seeks suspects among Jewish extremists.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, two men were indicted for the arson attack on the Church of the Loaves and Fishes on the northern end of Lake Kinneret. Yinon Reuveni, 20, is the main defendant.</p>
<p>Yehuda Asraf, 19, was indicted for assisting him and providing the getaway car. The church stands on the site where Christians believe Jesus handed out the loaves and fishes.</p>
<p>The two defendants are allegedly members of a radical organization suspected of being responsible for other hate crimes.</p>
<p>The first lead after the arson incident was mixed. A security camera near the church filmed a Subaru in the parking lot, but the people emerging were indistinguishable.</p>
<p>The breakthrough was triggered by other footage. Reuveni was filmed at the Latrun service station pumping gas into a two-liter bottle, which was later found at the burned-out church, the police say. Revueni was also seen entering the adjacent store, they say.</p>
<p>In the church footage, the two figures hesitated on their way back from the church. The police found a glove with sweat that matched Reuveni’s DNA, they say.</p>
<p>According to prosecutors, this should be enough to show that Reuveni was present at the scene and had acquired the means to commit arson.</p>
<p>If convicted, Reuveni is expected to receive a punishment more severe than the one handed down recently to three right-wing activists. In a plea deal, they each received 30 months in prison for torching a Palestinian-owned car.</p>
<p>Reuveni lived in the Givat Habaladim outpost near the Binyamin region settlement of Kokhav Hashahar. The place has become a point of friction with local Palestinians. According to the Shin Bet, Reuveni would leave from there to set mosques on fire.</p>

<p>According to <a href="http://www.jta.org/2015/07/30/news-opinion/israel-middle-east/third-suspect-indicted-in-arson-attack-on-historic-church" target="_blank">another Jewish source</a>, “A third suspect was indicted in the alleged arson attack on a historic church in northern Israel.”</p>
<p>These Jewish who commit this violence are under the antichrist and are possessed by his spirit. We as Christians must face up to evil when it happens and not take sides. Its not just Muslims who are attacking Christians, its everyone who is under the spirit of Satan. We should not take sides and say, “Oh they are Jews, they are excused; oh they are Muslims, they are not excused.” Evil is evil no matter who commits it. With this we should say to these wicked people, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44)</p>
<p>All those who hate Christ, hate truth — for Christ is the Truth — and they hate life — for Christ is the Life — and they follow their father the devil, who <em>was a murderer from the beginning</em> . Now I tell you, instead of fighting over which heretic is better, let us instead do the will of God and help our brethren who are being persecuted in Pakistan.</p>

<p>Why won’t the Obama administration call Fort Hood Islamic Terrorism? Why aren’t they calling Chattanooga Islamic Terrorism? Because it’s ‘disrespect to Muslims’ and ‘Islam is about peace’. So says Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson:</p>

He explained that though it was a Muslim terrorist who shot to death four unarmed Marines in Tennessee two weeks ago, the government will call the attack, and other similar ones, “violent extremism” and not “Islamic terrorism” – out of respect for the Muslim community.</p>
<p>Johnson said it is “critical” to refrain from the “Islamic” label in order to “build trust” among Muslims.</p>

<p>The Tennessee murderer, Mohammad Abdulazeez, is officially a “homegrown violent extremist,” according to the government – even though he blogged about his Islamic religious motivations for the attack. He and his family also attended a local mosque controlled by a terror-tied Islamic trust.</p>
<p>Johnson explained that if officials called Islamic terrorism “Islamic,” they’d “get nowhere” in gaining the “cooperation” of the Muslim community.</p>
<p>The moderator of the panel tried to protest: “Isn’t [the] government denying the fundamental religious component of this kind of extremism by not using the word Islamic?”</p>
<p>“I could not disagree more,” Johnson responded, and explained that Islam “is about peace.”</p>

<p>So for the cause of Muslims to stand up against Islamic extremism, we won’t call it Islamic extremism. Why? They tell us that the terrorists do not represent the beautiful religion of Islam, ISIL corrupts the true teachings of Islam which at its essence as Johnson says “is about peace”.</p>
<p>Okay then. If ISIS corrupts the “religion of peace”, how about saying that these terrorists follow fiction? So what part of the ISIL fiction must we expose to the true peaceful Muslims? Of course, we will not call the Quran a book of fiction, in respect to the Quran’s avid readers who believed it was sent to them from the seventh heaven—dictaphoned by a colorful angel of light—to a humble illiterate servant of God.</p>
<p>Who do we blame then for the millions of severed heads before ISIL came along when armies that called themselves Islamic Caliphate invaded Christian Syria in 637, then they conquered Christian Armenia, 639, to later massacre 1.2 Million Armenian Christians in 1915 which the United States refuses to pin Turkey for that holocaust. If all these killing do not represent Islam, who do they represent? Would our government say that these were simply “extremists” who “hijacked the beautiful religion”?</p>

<p>Can any serious historian say that there is a difference between the Islam of ISIL and the Islam of the Ottomans?</p>
<p>And then we had the conquest of Christian Egypt in 639 A.D., in which the population of the Christian Copts gradually decreased from nine million to 700,000 at the early 1900’s and it all happened for the same reason that the U.S. government says about Islam being a “beautiful religion”. Egypt is an important case-in-point regarding this “peaceful Islam” propaganda. It is a fact of history that the Egyptians allowed the Muslims into their country, just as our government says that we need to welcome the Muslims in the United States. When the Egyptian populace heard that the Muslims were arriving, they accepted them with open arms, just as the United States is doing. They refused to see them as deceiving heretics, but as people who merely “believed in the one true God”. Their open mindedness would have received the applause of the moderns, but the end result was the consequence of all ultra equality and tolerance: violence.</p>
<p>What creates tyranny is the world of cowards, politicians, media giants and even conservatives who claimed to believe in the purists of truths to only find out they were riddled with the ignorance that was born out of their inner fears.</p>
<p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_Lemkin">Raphael Lemkin</a>, – the man who coined the term “Genocide” described the Armenian massacre by Turks as Genocide, yet Hillary Clinton and so many other officials in the United States, including even Republicans would refuse to call this a “Genocide” for the same reasons DHS refuses to call Islamic terrorism “Islamic”.</p>
<p>And if anyone wants to see a mixture of hypocrisy, the Bible and cowardly denial, watch this:</p>

The Road to Athabasca: Why I’m Biking To the Tar Sands

Six months ago, my friend Phil Jones announced that he was making a bicycle pilgrimage to the tar sands in Alberta, Canada, and asked if anyone wanted to join him.<br />
As he spoke, I nodded and listened, thinking Wait. Where is that? At the time I was working as a barista in Downtown Seattle, pouring espresso shots, pinging between freelance writing jobs and playing music in my band. It took me a while to make the connection in my mind that this place, one of the biggest and most devastating oil extraction projects in the world, was close enough to my home in Seattle that I, too, could ride my bicycle there – all 1,100 miles along the route of the Trans Mountain pipeline through Canada.<br />
Over time, the idea of that ride has grown from one person to a motley crew of passionate artists and storytellers in what is now the <a href="http://www.tarsandsride.org/" rel="nofollow">The Road to Athabasca</a>. I didn't arrive lightly at my decision to go. But the scope of this journey hooked my imagination, and as I read up on the tar sands, spoke to others with firsthand knowledge of the issue, and trained physically for the ride, I began to feel its true gravity and urgency. I, along with others, am now <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tarsandsride/the-road-to-athabasca" rel="nofollow">asking you to support us</a> as we embark on this two-wheeled journey for the climate.<br />

<strong>How dirty is it?</strong><br />
The term “tar sands” refers to a substance of sand, clay and tar bitumen that with intense processing can become oil (for more, <a href="http://www.npr.org/2012/08/16/158907708/infographic-how-tar-sands-oil-is-produced" rel="nofollow">see this great NPR infographic</a>). After being extracted, the tar is mixed with a mega-cocktail of hot water, heavy chemicals, natural gas and light crude oil, thus generating a new substance: "dilbit," or diluted bitumen. The stuff then gets pumped south through oil pipelines from Alberta, reaching tankers where it gets delivered internationally. It’s a substance that The National Resource Defense Council <a href="http://atrium.occupy.com/read/node/www.nrdc.org/energy/tarsandssafetyrisks.asp" rel="nofollow">has called</a> a "highly corrosive, acidic, and potentially unstable blend of thick raw bitumen and volatile natural gas liquid condensate – raising risks of spills and damage to communities along their paths."<br />
The largest field of tar sands in the world is located in Northern Alberta – a distance only marginally longer than San Francisco is from my hometown Seattle. To bring it to the local level for Northwesterners: the Trans Mountain Pipeline, one of these dilbit channels, runs right through our backyard and ends in Anacortes, Washington, after starting its journey in Edmonton, Alberta. The Trans Mountain currently transports 300,000 barrels of dilbit per day, and <a href="http://www.kindermorgan.com/business/canada/tmx_expansion.aspx" rel="nofollow">is expected to triple to an expected 890,000 barrels per day</a>.<br />
But the number that exists on paper is not something I can grasp or experience. This psychic and physical distance is my reason for making the journey. I have led a relatively privileged life amid the bountiful resources of the Northwest, a region built on an oil-driven economy, but I've never been certain of the exact costs of that privileged existence on the land and its people. The metaphor of the frog in boiling water feels appropriate here – because when we speak of our changing climate, what’s at stake is nothing less than life itself.<br />
To fight for those stakes, I must understand them. And I cannot truly understand something I cannot see or feel. Back in April, I attended one of my first climate protests against the Shell oil rig that had anchored in Seattle’s Puget Sound. Reuben George, a leader of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, addressed some thousands of people saying, “When something comes along that will negatively impact the people I love, I am going to stop it.” The statement hit home for me. I love my family, and I love my friends, and like most anyone else I long for a healthy planet for future generations.<br />
But I also love this land, my home. I grew up in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the conclusion of the Oregon Trail, which is some of the most fertile land for agriculture and a place that instilled in me a love of good food, big mountains and towering trees. In Washington state, I feel that extension of my original home.<br />
Some may call it an overstatement to say that the oil industry has brought the war to our doorstep with the tar sands. I do not agree. I see the issue as a battle for this place on earth, home to humans and sea otters and gulls and deer and killer whales, threatened with destruction by an industry whose currency is oil and whose values are chained to profits. The same is true for the northern Albertans, whose land has been stolen, their groundwater polluted, and who have seen cancer rates skyrocket as a result of the oil industry’s activities in their region. In the end, we humans all depend on the land; to destroy it is to destroy ourselves.<br />

<strong>Preparing for the journey</strong><br />
Two weeks ago, I biked 68 miles with three other cyclists, which was five times the longest distance I had ever traveled without a car. Beginning on South Whidbey Island’s pastoral hills and roadside organic gardens, we rode north over beautiful Deception Pass and west to the Tesoro and Shell oil refinery in Anacortes, seated directly on the edgewaters of the Samish First Nation.<br />
On the way we encountered pristine water, soaring gulls and bobbing harbor seals. But when we finally arrived at the gate to the refinery, we felt like we were witness to a fearsome monolith. The high buildings, surrounded by tall gates and barbed wire, spewed plumes of black smoke into an already gray sky. To be in the presence of that weight felt like a grave reminder of the seriousness of this fight, and the damage caused by the most powerful substance on Earth. That evening at the water’s edge, I saw the brute physicality of the oil refinery rub up against the large geography of this journey that we as a group have chosen to undertake.<br />
We call this trip a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage is any long journey, especially one traveled as a quest with a spiritual purpose. Though the tar sands are across the northern border many miles away from home, they not only play an urgent role in the politics, economy and communities of the Northwest; they are also a place on which our collective future depends. The riders participating in The Road to Athabasca believe that preserving this future necessitates a spirit of humility and witness.<br />
Through discovery of place, through story, and through personal connection with people along the way, we want to bear witness and tell the story of the people and places that span the space between Seattle and the tar sands of Alberta. Along the way we will be challenged and pushed to limits we didn’t know we were capable of reaching physically, emotionally, spiritually. We will be hallowed and humbled as we embrace our personal power and agency to change the false narrative that our existence as a species must depend on the earth’s destruction. And we hope, in the process, to encourage others to do the same.<br />

Germany Just Got 78 Percent Of Its Electricity From Renewable Sources

On July 25th, Germany set a new record for renewable energy by meeting 78% of the day’s electricity requirements from renewables, exceeding the previous record of 74% set in May 2014.  This is a huge achievement and proves that renewable energy is the answer to our future energy needs.  According to the federal Energy Information Administration, the U.S. only gets around 10% of its electricity from renewable sources.<br />
We’ve also recently <a href="http://www.trueactivist.com/denmark-just-produced-140-of-its-electricity-needs-via-wind-power/">reported that Denmark</a> found itself producing 140% of its national electricity needs from wind turbines.<br />

According to an <a href="http://energytransition.de/2015/07/renewables-covered-78percent-of-german-electricity/">analysis</a> by German energy expert Craig Morris at the Energiewende blog, a stormy day across northern Europe combined with sunny conditions in southern Germany led to the new record, the exact figures of which are still preliminary. Morris writes that most of Germany’s wind turbines are installed in the north and most of its solar panels are in the south.<br />
If the figures hold, it will turn out that wind and solar generated 40.65 gigawatts (GW) of power on July 25. When this is combined with other forms of renewables, including 4.85 GW from biomass and 2.4 GW from hydropower, the total reaches 47.9 GW of renewable power — occurring at a time when peak power demand was 61.1 GW on Saturday afternoon. To bolster his analysis, Morris points to <a href="https://twitter.com/PhilippLitz/status/625576425534439424">early figures</a> from Agora Energiewende, a Germany energy policy firm, that have renewables making up 79 percent of domestic power consumption that day.</blockquote>
It was due to an unusual weather pattern that brought heavy winds where most of the nation’s wind turbines are located. As these turbines generated more power, utilities ramped down coal- and gas-fired power plants. This just proves that yet again that renewable energy has the potential to replace our old ways of generating energy rapidly.
